Catch & Cook TASTY Smallmouth BASS!!!

all right my friends well we are just wrapping the day up out here uh I've been fishing all day long and I'm just now doing an intro but we've been doing some Creek fishing for Smallmouth bass and whatever else decides to buy and yeah I won't get into it too much but the setup we were using today 6ot medium action rod with my Viper X size 2000 spinning reel if you want to check it out link to enjoy and stay tuned let's get right into it this looks good folks I think we're going to start with this curl tail grub just toss it down there see what we can get let's try this a little Deep dive in perch crankbait there we go there we go little SMY check it out first fish of the day a little small mouth on my deep diving crankbait I actually broke off on that last crank bait I was using and I switched to this guy and he got it just a little guy but it's a start there we go hopefully we get a lot more of these so we can cook one up let him go see you later buddy there we go there we go fish on what do we got fil was a lot nicer than that small mouth we caught earlier what do we got oh he's pulling Dr oh big small mouth dude giant SMY giant SMY hold on we need to get the net for this guy heck yes woohoo Pig dude this might be one of my biggest smallmouth oh my gosh it is it definitely is look at that look at that pig ha there we go oh my God that's got to be like a three lb SMY I think this is my biggest small mouth ever actually hold on Buddy look at that oh my goodness fat belly that is a super long fish too that is a small mouth worth getting excited over baby folks check it out biggest small mouth of my life I'm guessing that's pushing about 3 lb he's really she's really fat and long and absolutely gorgeous look at those bright bronze colors awesome that makes the trip right there and she's ready to go she's ready to go there she goes yes let's get another one yeah this is the best best looking spot we've seen so far that looks like it gets super super deep there is 1 million per fish down here the only question is are they going to bite or not [Applause] that is crazy nothing right here and I took like 30 casts here we go there's a fish feels pretty decent oh another big small mouth heck yeah nice small mouth I think we're going to cook him up if we can land him nice there we go folks another one it has been slow this is only our third fish of the day that is just about the perfect size to cook cook I just casted my crankbait right up against that wall like right here and he slammed it just knock him out for now we'll just set him in our net and uh throw a few more casts see if we can get anything else all right folks we are going to take a break from fishing cuz honestly fishing is not so great right now been fishing for like 3 hours and I've caught three small mouth um thankfully we caught a couple and we're going to go ahead and filet this guy and then we're going to fry him up all right there we go I think we did a pretty good job we didn't leave much meat at all so we'll just toss him out there and I think there's some catfish that should enjoy that that's not a half bad filt job I can literally count on my hands how many times I've filleted bass in my life so I mean that's not terrible as long as you get most of the meat that's all you can ask for and I'm definitely going to rinse them off with some water bottles that I brought cuz this water isn't exactly what you would call clean uh yeah let's cook them up so we're going to be frying these fish of course and we've got some Uncle Bucks fish batter mix I was a Bass Pro about like two months ago saw this for sale so I grabbed it cracken egg into this Ziploc bag and I'm actually going to cut these fillets into smaller pieces make little fish nuggets out of them just about that big all right so we got our little pile of fish nuggets right here we're going to toss them in the egg [Music] mixture all right and then we're going to take some of our Uncle Bucks batter which by the way kind of has a creepy look to them I don't know what it is oo that smells good it's kind of got like an orange reddish tint to it all right we'll throw some in this bag now we'll drop our fish in the [Music] bag just do a few nuggets at a time yeah I wonder if this is spicy because it's kind of orangey red all right let's see if this oil is hot enough oh it definitely is we just goe and drop them in fresh smallmouth bass already smells good I don't want to overcrowd them so I'm going to let this batch cook and then we'll toss the other ones in all right [Music] yeah go and give these guys a flip that actually looks pretty dang good I'm excited to try this I've had bass like two other times if I remember correctly and I think I've made two videos in each one there's always someone who's like just completely floored that someone would keep and eat a bass like that makes no sense a fish is a fish you can eat a fish a Trout's a sportfish pip bluegill crappie they're all sportfish so they can all be eaten and bass are pretty tasty I will say not as good as trout in my opinion maybe it's just cuz I'm more used to eating trout but they are good all right this batch should be done I feel they're nice and crispy so we just set them on the paper towel to dry off a little bit there we go throw this other batch on all right let's try this bass out looks really really good just a little little nuggets let's try this out this is like the third time I've ever eaten smallmouth bass hot h i mean it's fried fish so it's going to be pretty good I don't know if this uh batter is flavorful enough cuz there's just not a whole lot of flavor going on maybe I should have added like a bunch of salt bunch of my own seasonings in fact I think it needs a little bit more salt I'm just going to sprinkle a little little bit right over them oh yeah that's better fish is good too it's nice and soft no fishy flavor and I'm not picking up any spice either there's no like cayenne pepper or anything in there so there we go need a little salt sprinkle a little bit second batch is always better well guys smallmouth bass catch and cook two thumbs up fishing not exactly great today only caught three but I did catch an absolute monster so I'm happy about that cooking one up on the tailgate always a fun time I do want to catch and cook more species this year not just trout I want to do more bluegill bass panfish catfish I really want to catch a catfish as soon as I can find some so let me know in the comments below what kind of catch and Cooks you guys
