Car Fender repair rust & paint at home Diy

okay so they were pairing rust on a fender we're going to repair the rust repaint the entire fender and I'll show you how to do it step by step okay I've went into my Park store and I've given them the color code of this car sometimes you'll find it in the glove compartment or it could sometimes be inside one the rear doors and that we can match the color your car and have it put in an aerosol can which saves you haven't have a compressor or a spray gun okay so the first thing we're going to use is our angle grinder with a flat disc in it we're going to try and sand away as much of the roster as we can [Music] okay so if this was a newer car we'd probably replace an offender because it's quite rusted but we're going to do for now just to help the rostov's we're going to put a rush treatment on it which will hopefully slow down the process of any more Ruston okay so I've got some 180 sandpaper and I'm just going to prepare the area for some body filler if your body filler mixed properly it shall be a even color okay so when we stand there woody sound paper we need to wait about 20 minutes for it to go fully off okay so the filter is dried now for about 30 minutes and it's good and hard so now we're gonna start sounding with a tea sound paper and then we're going to move on to 180 to take the heavier scratches out if you haven't got a sanding block up in a two by one timber is just as good okay so now we have the ship that we need we're just going to start sign with 180 to take out all these heavy scratches ok so now we've got our 800 sandpaper and we got our water and we're going to sand down the entire fender okay so we've sounded a wing down with 800 sandpaper we've blown it down with compressed air now we don't wanna get paint on the rest of the car so we're gonna mask it up as best we can okay now it's time for the primer course I've shaken they can very well and also I'm wearing a respirator you okay so the primer is drying out about 30 minutes so we got our 800 sandpaper again on a war I'm going to sand down the primer okay so the next step is the color before that we want to clean the whole pond down with some pound weight [Music] but the color there's no need to go higher up on the fender we just want to concentrate in the area where the roast was there's no need it's easier to blend the color that way okay so now we'll leave that color called go hard for about maybe five minutes before we put the clear core on top okay this is the final step to clear quart you want to be careful with this not to get runs take it slow to start very very light course and then build up to your heavier course [Music] okay so that's the clear con believe that go dry for about maybe 40 minutes and then we'll remove the masking okay now sauce it straight for about 40 minutes so let's remove the mask and see what it looks like okay so the lacquers fully dry and these are the finish results looks pretty good compared to what was there before it didn't cost a lot of money to do it either and you can do it all at home thanks for watching guys
