[Music] dog [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] this is uh captain keith graham he's retiring he has his last uh trip today a denver turn first i'd like to just thank you for your 41 years of service 41 years wow that's awesome not uh there's not a lot of pilots at night say they had over 40 years of rape services almost 20 000 hours just on united airplanes um on this triple seven uh close to five thousand the most time he has on an airplane is captain on the 747. 8500 hours um and then he had a dc10 captain 737 captain 727 captain and then he was the first officer but now we won't talk about that that was only a few years of your career it looks like his first uh it looks like your first flight was in 1974 i think it's uh february 1974. the original resume that you submitted to united now so there that is i we find that pilots really really enjoy getting that like i can't and the technology i was just reading it over um it's just amazing you can see you use the typewriter um also for your your wife we like to give the original united captain wings because you're the glue that keeps the family together when he's on his trips so uh those are i'm gonna go to the gate and just talk to the pastors real quick if you want to say some words you can if you don't that's good too it's hard to say yeah uh it was a dream come true yeah when they called me and said you're higher there you go 41 years later yeah so congratulations and uh we're going to miss you here you really are the captain graham will be flying into denver this is uh his last uh round trip you'll be fine in denver and then tonight coming back from denver but i just wanted to recognize one of our best captains here after 41 years of service on this airplane alone eight thousand or nine thousand hours on the 747. the list goes on and on you're in great hands today i just like everyone to acknowledge that this is kevin graham's final day of flying for united again 41 years of service hi this is all yours okay okay all the specials are on there thank you that's about it thanks a lot thanks so much thank you it was nice working with you same here have a good flight i used to like those munich trips oh yeah those are best yeah thank you guys thank you yeah if you want to do a free flight check i'm ready twice [Music] oh my god [Music] [Music] ladies and gentlemen for those of you wondering we have a captain on this flight he's coming in his name's keith grandpa keith graham this is [Music] his final trip after 41 and a half years [Music] you're a whale home [Music] [Music] it's just the opposite way [Music] very honored to have you all with me today that's the day i haven't actually looked forward to everybody keeps congratulating me and i understand that but i will miss this so much it's been that was a lot of sadness anyway i'll get you to chicago today in 144 minutes should be a pretty smooth ride we'll be cruising at 35 000 feet and when we arrive in chicago she'll be in the low 60s and pretty good visibility but overcast skies about a thousand feet i'd like to welcome my sister amy who flew all the way from atlanta georgia to come and be with me today and my nephew kevin they've never flown with me on united before so they got here in the nick of time they used to fly around my uh my own airplane years ago i had a session of 310 very fond memories of that my son is with us eric and my wife thank you for climbing approach [Music] 1000 500. thank you brothers please bring your personal swamp and bring your change 50 40 30 20 10. they're sitting in the window seats you might be able to look out the windows and you might catch the water cannon salute that they will be giving captain graham this evening and i'd like to tell you a little story about helping her out took his first flying lesson on october 7th 1973 in a small midwest town of mount vernon ohio houston became an instructor and was happy with his dad became his nurse student he was hired by united airlines at the age of 23 upgraded to captain at 35 and reluctantly retired today at the mandatory age of 65. his flying career spanned more than four decades as a state he has flown for united airlines for 41 and a half years he has flown to 49 states 25 countries five continents and has lost 31 hundred hours of flying tonight which equates to three years and eight months of his life spent in the air since his first lesson we would like to wish captain keith graham the best of luck and a wonderful retirement [Applause] [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you [Music] congratulations congratulations [Music] [Music] so [Music] you
