When you're promoting your product
or service online, one of the most important things
you can do to build trust is to make your audience
feel 100% confident in their decision to buy from you or work with you. But that can be hard to do
when everything is digital and they can't hold the product
in their hands. Well, Canva has now made it easy
to showcase your digital products in a way that ensures that they look professional,
high quality, and super slick. By using one of my favorite Canva apps. Canva apps are basically add ons that we can activate and use to enhance
or augment our work in Canva. There are huge range of them available
for all sorts of purposes, and some of them have even graduated to
become a part of Canva standard toolkit. One of these apps gives you access
to a huge library of beautiful templates that can help bring your digital products and designs
to life in just a couple of clicks. And this now even includes
video templates. First of all, to access the app
library in Canva, you just go to the left hand
side of your home page and look for the apps
icon at the bottom of the main tabs. If you've not yet
got access to the new Canva update, it may look a little different,
but it will be in a similar place. You can also access the app library
from within a design. We're going to search for an app
simply called mockups. Then when we click on the little app icon,
it will ask us if we want to use the app in a new design
or an existing one. We're going to create a new design today, and when I choose that option,
it will ask me what type of design. And I'm going to choose video. Once our blank video design is created,
we will immediately see the app has opened a panel on the left that shows us a huge library
of mock up images that we can access. There is a lot here, all separated into categories
like frames, print, apparel, smartphones. So it's worth taking some time to browse
and see what will work for you and your brand. Adding a product grab or a design
into a mockup couldn't be simpler. You first choose your mockup image. Click on it to add it to your design. Then you can resize or reposition it,
and when you're happy with it, you can just drag any image
over the empty placeholder frame. I'm going to use a screen, grab the sales page for my Canva course
and drag it into this monitor frame, and you'll see it adds the image
into that empty placeholder frame. Now, because my image is not exactly
the same size as this frame, you'll see that
there's some empty space on either side of it,
and that can easily be corrected by just clicking on the mockup
and then choosing edit from the menu bar. This will show you the options
available to you. I'm just going to choose
to fill the frame with the image, and I can adjust the positioning
within the frame. Then I just click Apply Changes
and that's it. Now depending on your type of mock up,
some of the mock up images also have additional editing options. For example,
let's select this t shirt template. I'm going to drag an image in
from my uploads folder. And then I'm going to edit again
and adjusted to fit the layout. With this particular mock up. If I look at the edits available, there is
now also an option to change the color. Now, if I choose a new color and hit apply changes,
you'll see the t shirt color changes so you have even more control over
how your final image looks. So a couple of things to note. First of all,
when you're working with these mockups, you cannot edit them
using the standard Canva image editor. But once you've added your grab
or your design into the mockup, you can
then always export it as a standard image, upload it back into Canva,
and then you have complete control over adjusting the color
and adding effects, etc.. And secondly, one limitation is that you can only click and drag
still images into the mockup frames. That might change in the future, but for now it means that video
clips can't be dragged in. But there are other ways
to add motion and video. So first of all, as long as you choose a mock up image
that has a frame that is still and not skewed or has a perspective
distortion, you could just add a standard Canva image frame over it
and adjust that frame to fit. Then you can just drag a video into that
top frame, and the video will play like it does in
any other standard Canva design. Secondly, if you have a mockup
with the still image or grabbing it like we did with this monitor
we used earlier, you can always just add a simple animation to the whole thing
to create some movement. And thirdly, the mock up app now gives you
access to a library of video mockups. Now this is a fairly new addition
and it opens up a whole world of possibilities
in the video section of the library. There are lots of variations and options,
and just like the still mockups, you just have to choose the mockup
you want to use. Add it to your design,
and then when you're happy with the size and position, you can click and drag
any image over the placeholder frame. It does take a little longer for the video
to render or to integrate your grab, but once it's done, you have a really lovely
mockup created in just a few clicks. No animation video editing skills
required. Before we combine a few of these elements
into a showcase we can use. I'm really excited to announce
that this coming Monday, the 23rd of June enrollment opens for my newly updated
Canva course called Canva OS. The content has been refreshed to reflect
the updated Canva interface and toolbars, which will be rolling out to everyone
over the next couple of months. So if you want to learn how to use Canva
to its full potential and transform your content, and you want to get your hands
on the early bird discount, you can just go to the link
that's on the screen right now, or in the description below the video,
and sign up for the waiting list. I am super excited to see you inside
Canva OS. Now back to our showcase. Using some mockups from this app, incorporating your own graphs and designs,
and then adding a little Canva magic. We can combine a few individual scenes
into a video showcase that is really effective
to bring your digital product to life. So following the usual process
we've used in previous projects, we then just need to add some animations
and transitions and maybe drop in some music. Then we adjust our timings
and we can create something that is really slick without needing to be
an experienced video editor. You. That's all for me today, folks. Do check out the mockups app
and have fun with experimenting with it and trying things out to make it work
for you and for your brand. If you have any questions
about my Canva course, please just drop me an email to support at Created by Wacom
and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. And of course,
if you want to take advantage of that early bird discount,
make sure you're on the waiting list. Have a fabulous weekend
and I will see you next week for Canva Oasis Launch week. Right.
