CAN YOU TELL THIS ISN'T REAL? - Hyper Realistic Sim Racing Footage at Nordschleife

all right guys welcome to the nordschleife for this three lap race in the corvette c8r so it's sunny at the moment a nice late afternoon evening race but the forecast is saying we may get a little sprinkling of rain a little later on but more right now i'm more worried about this m8 that's sitting on my left hand side that i am about the rain we'll cross that river when we come to it later on should the need arise i can already feel even just after the first few corners that this c8r is a little bit more lively in the rear than what we're used to from the m8 that we were driving just the other day so that's to make it a little bit more sketchy today and speaking of sketchy we have increased the ai difficulty to 103 from 100 what we were running the other day which we were running the other day we've also increased the opponent aggression from 75 which we're running to 96 which is what you guys suggested as a bit of a sweet spot for about the right amount of aggression to keep things spicy but not too spicy so we were finding the other day if you showed them a wheel they kind of just died out of the way whereas now hopefully they'll be a little bit more aggressive as we get the job done on those two still too white here i can see him in my mirror so i'm gonna have to be careful tucking it behind now hearing that poor scream all right now where are they gonna break through here oh back in getting loose on me come on okay we're still alive we're still alive now if you're wondering what on earth you're looking at here we do have a bunch of videos if this is the the car's definitely lively definitely moves around i'm not confident keeping it pinned right through here i don't think but we'll see what happens in front of us these guys are going to have to break i think yeah a little touch on the brakes there i can see whoa he's out of shape oh backhand getting light okay up to the first carousel get the power down there we go get it turned in keep it on the low side [Music] decent exit not too bad up to fifth position now from the eighth that we started this is the area the track i struggle with because i don't make it here very often i usually crash before i get to this part so i think it's the case for a lot of people that kind of not familiar with the turns here everybody knows the first few corners oh back in getting light again that's a struggle that one right now i've kind of got the advantage of the brakes lights in front of me as well to kind of know the appropriate place to brake not going to lie that's definitely helping don't have any other assists running other than just the authentic stuff that the car comes with so authentic abs and traction control nothing else a little bit of a wheel on the grass that's going to cost us coming up to the bump now this is going to be terrifying break just before we crest it get the weight to transfer to the front keep us planted on the ground and we should be able to hold pretty flat through here i think a little bit airborne there again front end got light and coming up to the right hander now requires more brakes than you think it's caught me out so many times that corner this one too and now second carousel coming up to the back straight does feel like keeping a little bit of throttle in mid corner helps to keep the back end planted it seems to be the key to going quickly in this car it might be just outside slipstream here see how we go oh no it seems like they're sucking us along so what have we got porsche bmw porsche [Music] and porsche so we're flying the flag for the americans right now i'm not keen to go past all of them right now i don't think some of those porsches are screaming where are they gonna break oh he's on the grass we'll take that opportunity we may have uh encouraged that just slightly sun's definitely getting lower now trying to stay with this lead pack their mates all over me mate definitely starting to get the hang of fiddler and feathering that throttle though it's definitely the key to going quickly in this car i think [Music] i only got to do that once more now the corner scares the crap out of me can we get a podium whoa good exit oh jeez we'll go back switch back on him i think it's going to be the best approach it's harder than it looks actually it probably isn't harder than it looks it probably looks harder than it is i don't know we'll wait until we watch the footage back i think before i comment on that too much certainly taking every ounce of my concentration though i don't know how these guys do this for hours on end three laps is enough for me my come on we should be able to sneak up the inside here i think as long as we don't get a wheel on the grass oh not quite sun's getting low really don't want to go too wide through here it's just asking for trouble but the m8 is going to be all over me again because he's not going to wait around for us to make our minds up there he is hmm what a battle oh that corner hurts me backhand always gets loose there so the only opportunity to get past might be on the straight i think oh jeez all right it's porsche versus american muscle now slipstream [Music] come on come on come on see you later they're going to be all over me again though i reckon come on c8r come on they're alright they're right with me still though where am i gonna break okay can i hold on to it [Music] sun getting really low now getting much harder to see i also don't have the brake lights in front of me to tell me where to brake they're all over me come on we can do this we'll be brave be brave be brave come on [Music] through the back end getting away from me again [Music] it doesn't look like they got too much of a run on me though that sunset oh bit of a lock up on the front right we're okay though still made the turn didn't quite make the apex but made the turn [Music] so come on [Music] [Music] so the concentration levels are absolutely through the roof i think my heart rate's probably about 200 right now i need to get another heart rate monitor the other one broke unfortunately that i used to use so you can't buy them anymore i've been trying to come up with a system that'll work but so so far no good oh nearly lost the rear come on [Music] [Music] whoa i'll tell you what though this car once you once you learn to manage that rear end and you can kind of feel when it's starting to break away and you can correct it with a throttle it is very rewarding to drive this game really has come a long way i think if you're one of those people that bought this game early on in the piece and kind of wrote it off as no good it's definitely worth giving it another show you may not like it but definitely when it comes to immersion it it is right up there through the carousel for the last time bit of a sketchy exit there all right now concentrate because this is where i'm gonna be slow because i don't have their brake lights to help me and i'm not super confident through this section uh oh wheel on the grass not quite managed to hold on to it through the bump again should we fly through here only a few corners to go now don't screw it up [Music] oh wheel on the grass told you that corn is a bad one for me only a few more to go now come on down the straight for the last time we got a good gap behind us now so as long as we don't balls it up opportunity to look at a bit of the scenery here castle up on the hill man what a time to be a sim racer there's a tourist centre on the right there who would have thought 30 years
