Can You Pour Concrete In Freezing Temperatures?

got it going okay I knew it we got a little uh redneck rigging over here with our batteries that might be a project for another day we got a tail light out what are these snacks huh snacks no wonder we have mice hey Grant use this JLG up to the boat we'll pull it out of here have they seen the boat yet I don't think anyone's seen the boat we're not both people and I don't I swore I'd never buy a boat but Laura just thought we had to have this thing I convinced him I found it and I thought it was perfect check this thing out it's a 96 Bayliner it's perfect just nice enough to float don't worry I tested it out but uh it's it's nothing special my favorite part of it and honestly the reason why I bought it is it says little yachty on it I think that's so funny you know though I have heard that the best two days of a boat owner's life is the day he buys it and the day he sells it so we'll see how long it stays around hooked up battery disconnect foreign [Music] oh my goodness [Music] foreign now and I somehow pulled out four separate different mismatching gloves those are all kind of the same but they're all different what in the world thus begins winter I guess Grant said he was tired of me rearranging the tools in his toolbox the way I liked them so I said fine I'll buy my own toolbox so this is the official Laura's toolbox which if you ask me is way cooler than grants but that's just my opinion just the way I'd like I'm very excited to do that let's see if we can find Scotty I haven't seen him yet this morning Scotty you're not Scotty and see him what you doing uh so this gas tank was labeled 32-1 but it has red diesel in it and the post hole digger ran out of gas so I could make some new gas in this jug but I have to empty this jug before I can make gas in it oh gotcha okay well good luck with that you may notice these calf sheds are not where they used to be on the property and that big pile of set fencing supplies is all gone that is because we are nearly complete with our fencing remodel project on the property all the fence has been torn out and sold and those calving sheds are on their way out and I will show you our project for the third caption this has been Park cleanup project part building my dream fueling station and this calf shed is just right so we got it all moved over here now we're going to put some fuel Barrels in it and it will be the ideal fueling station for me so you can just pull right up your truck your tractor whatever it may be and fuel right here and if it's raining there's a little awning however right now the building is just sitting on the ground so our project for today is going to be drilling some anchor points of course some concrete and finding a way to secure this building down because while it's not very windy today thank goodness on most days in Nebraska it's blowing something fierce South I don't want this building to blow away here's a little guy all right now now the project can officially start [Music] [Music] that was a really bad idea [Music] here's a little note to the audience when you toss a 60 pound bag of concrete has a tendency to break open [Music] so I've never actually run one of these things before but I think I can lift it so that's encouraging it's not too heavy I can handle it so I just started up and does it start spinning as soon as I start it up oh no it just started up here's a little button over here okay come on off okay yank this and start making noise and to make more noise you do this okay and that thing the bottom part will spin around quite a bit so just watch your loose clothes yeah I started making a hole over there [Applause] [Music] all right [Music] well you notice there's this like white stuff on the ground everywhere and I can see your breath there's a very good chance the ground is frozen which I thought it wouldn't be froze yet but that's why it might be so hard I literally did nothing I made no and there used to be a tree right near here so you might be fighting Roots but let me give it a whirl okay you gotta try things smells like my old dirt bike yeah I'm running uh VP 110 race gas and yamalu in here well you definitely have more leverage than I do that's what the ground does when it's frozen oh yeah Frozen dirt hmm I thought it's a nice sunny day like it's hardly even any wind I thought we could get something done today but dang yeah I just really want don't want these sheds to uh blow away because it's like a big sale like I mean see that yeah wind could definitely do that I think this would be a great look great little home for Scotty I've been thinking about making a little area foreign maybe cut a little hole in there I think it could make a good little home for Scotty yeah make it kind of cute I love it um I think we're just going to put the concrete inside and save this project for a warmer day it's not going to be cold forever just like typical Nebraska weather it'll be 15 degrees one day but there's a forecast I see where there's one day in this coming week that's going to be 62 degrees so even if the ground maybe isn't thawed enough I I don't know what the plan is we're just gonna have to save it for a warmer day so the concrete's gonna go inside for now somebody busted a bag open at the risk of sounding stupid I had no idea how heavy bags of concrete works okay there's such tiny little bags I figured how heavy could they be I don't know bags of concrete are like you dude good things come in small packages [Laughter] you watch yourself you were walking a fine line there mister I thought that was a great compliment goodness these semi trucks were going to be parked for some time because it's getting cold outside and we are good on hauling corn however one of the cores of the bin is starting to get hot and so we're gonna have to take some corn from the middle like core of the bin and haul that into town so we're gonna pull this semi out and in order to get somebody up have to get the tractor and the disc pulled out that is a silly sounding horn continuing on with our theme of property cleanup this is one of the last few Corners that has remnants of things that need to be gone through one of those being this Geo Tracker that Grant had Grand plans with maybe he still has Grand plans with so it served his purpose I got its engine I took the engine out for my geotracker wait probably like a year and a half ago some of you probably remember that well what's the plan with this thing now I want to take the transmission out of it and the differentials and stuff transfer case in case mine goes out I have extra parts but this thing is it's flat don't let a mouse jump out of it at me straight body panel on hmm I don't know I guess I'm gonna get like twelve dollars for it if I take it in the junkyard so I might as well keep it I gotcha well we've got some pivot Parts some boards and then this is our main thing that we're looking at here it's a trailer as you can see but it's been parked and turned into more of like a shipping container type thing and I was gonna say it's filled with junk but it's not necessarily junk there's definitely some usable items in here it just needs to be cleaned out so that it can be turned into more of an actual space Oh Yeah look at that as you guys it's more right there let's see obviously you guys know uh this was definitely like I could not have planted this um EMC has been sponsoring our channel for the past year and our sponsorship is actually coming to a close at the end of this year um but we have seven in a sec I don't know what that means that's kind of a cool Bridge though I'm really glad a rat didn't jump out of there well Grant and I are going to piece by piece take all this stuff out sort it into what we can keep what we can sell and what needs to be recycled or taken to a junkyard and then this trailer slash storage container can turn into a space for us [Music] [Applause] [Music]
