[Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] RPM yes yes I did it [Music] right here I have the brand new Ford Bronco Everglades this one cost about fifty six thousand dollars and we have a lot of snow in the Rockies that's right so we're going to do an off-road Wheeling adventure and I'm going to try to keep up with Andre for 22 000 less because this is our new 2s 2016 Jeep Wrangler JK it's a whopping 20 plus thousand dollars less than that Ford but we're gonna see can I have as much fun as Andre foreign I could not be happier for this video yeah Andre this should be a lot of fun comparing two iconic off-road vehicles but spaced apart a few years now this Jeep has had the benefit of depreciation whereas that Bronco is still brand spanking new and oftentimes going for well over sticker so we're gonna see is that twenty thousand dollar plus Gap mean that that Bronco is significantly more capable well it's also in my opinion one of the coolest Broncos of them all this is the Everglades why is it cool well because it's a special trim it is on 35s and the Everglades model is special because it has higher water forwarding capability more than any other Bronco but we're not fording water today yeah but you also have that fantastic winch in the front the Warren Winch you got um these unique set of wheels which look great they've actually moved the diff breathers and the trans breathers on that vehicle front interlocking diffs that Bronco is insanely cool this video is brought to you by our friends over at Onyx off-road our number one go-to off-road navigation app Onyx off-road not only shows you where the best trails in your area are but the difficulty and exactly what to expect when you're out in the dirt plus it integrates with stuff like apple carplay so it's super easy and convenient to use check out Onyx off-road to help you on your next off-road Adventure well you know what I'm in for low I'm double locked and I'm gonna cut through this Trail but by the way when you follow me do not follow me in My Tracks please yeah yeah all right already making excuses let's see what happens okay so under the hood is a 2.3 liter straight four this is kind of the only way you can get an Everglades oh yeah oh man this is fun we've got some snow there's some some serious stuff all right dude this is difficult do your worst all right my dude so this is a 2016 Jeep Wrangler JK now this had an original price of 64 Grand because it has over 20k worth of AEV accessories on it but of course 60 000 miles later six seven years later it's now worth roughly 34 Grand so I'm gonna go four low I'm gonna lock up probably just the rear diff and then we're gonna see how this older Wrangler does come on Jeep All About Tires as well so we can talk about their tires and events here we go got some Wheels spinning four low which will just the traction control this five-speed automatic feeling a little bit Antiquated because I'm going to want a little bit of wheel spin I think I think up here but we're really flying here that 3.6 Liter V6 kind of Rev on up there we go wow really impressed really impressed giving it all she's got digging through the snow come on oh very sideways now that's awesome that was rad I saw your front axle shimmying and shaking dude a little Simeon shaking never hurt nobody [Music] so let's talk about tires dude because that's going to be really important today I'm rolling on 35s so basically the Everglades is also kind of a Sasquatch kind of similar suspension design and also bigger tires but this is a good year territory Mt oh you say that but you're getting stuck give it a go try it try it one more time let's even get through that snow I know I was taking it easy and now I'm getting bogged down [Music] Audrey are you fully stuck my dude let me back up and let me get a slight uh Head Start there it is when in doubt throttle out all right getting some flotation and moving forward well you did it but you definitely have to work at it Andre so these are Mickey Thompson's MTS you know I don't have a lot of experience with Mickey Thompson's almost none we had him on big green but that's about it our 85 Chevy K10 but I'm happy to say that these tires are three Peak Snow rated 35 inch tall tires now in order to accommodate 35s on a JK you need a lift so this spring was running the AEV three and a half inch lift kit but let's see I'm gonna try taking it slow too let's see if I can make it through or you got stuck I'm gonna go Fresh Tracks here oh look at that the grip on those Mickeys was pretty good until they got stuck all right I don't think I'm gonna be able to take it slow either this hill is deceivingly steep doesn't look very steep on camera but it is a steep hill so um wheel speed and a screaming pentastar I think is gonna be the solution here now I have the rear Locker locked up I couldn't lock up the front potentially if I have to oh it's working it we're going very sideways here got a lot of kind of axle should be going on here oh I got stuck oh wow dude yeah yeah I just got to use a little bit more of that skinny pedal Andre get through this come on we got this buddy okay on to the the harder surface here Comanche keep the RPMs up a pedestar 3.6 makes all of its power in the higher RPM so you really gotta rev the nuts off of it to get that required wheel spin but we did it this is a lot of fun though like we're performing yeah that's right you know I could click on my front locker but they don't really want to put that strain on the drivetrain being it's six seven years old I don't want to go busting something out that front diff cover so I'm going to keep my rear axle locked and let my front axle do its Classic front axle shimmy that it loves to do um and you know we're gonna see if we can get up to the top of this hill [Music] [Applause] so talk me to the engine in that Everglades well we are at high elevations today in the Rockies but I have turbocharging to come to my Aid I have a 2.3 liter so small displacement but it is a four cylinder and it's quiet actually torquey so almost 300 horsepower just a little bit over 300 pound feet of torque so I know a lot of people want a V6 in the Everglades but and it's not available because of weight considerations but I think the turbocharged engine is mighty well let's see if it's mighty enough to get through that fresh snow Andre 5000 RPM yes yes I did it it did cut through it all right so I'm going to try the same thing um I got both lockers locked up and let's see if I can go in some Fresh Tracks here Full Throttle and 3.6 Liter V6 285 horsepower naturally aspirated 5-speed automatic Good Old Reliable here and watch this Carnage hopefully not Carnage we've got some really exciting auctions over at tflbids.com which I want to tell you about including this 2000 Land Rover Discovery it's no secret that I'm a big Land Rover guy and this thing is awesome with solid axles and enough modifications to take you to some cool spots off-road or if you want something a little bit more sporty check out my personal 2013 Mini Cooper JCW GP a rare vehicle one of only 500 sold in the states and this thing is a ton of fun on the track or just your daily commute head over to teflbids.com for more info Show Me What You're Made Of got some spinning already now we are slightly aired down here I'll try to go in some fresh tracks for you downshift oh man yep I goofed yeah this five speeds a little dim-witted sometimes you gotta you gotta manually uh manually tell it to stick into gear so I'm gonna say second gear low range of course all traction control off front and mirrors locked up first gear second gear here we go look what you're saying about the old-fashioned technology thank you man who these tires aren't gripping as well as I would have liked even at a slightly decreased pressure now I'm just making a mess all right come on chief not let the Jeep Community down the nice thing about having a much more affordable vehicle is you're less afraid to rag on it that's what I'm gonna have to do yeah watch this got some traction so that pedestar that's six and a half thousand RPM not letting off though come on G tell me what you got show me what you got a solid axle oh come on does not like to turn and do those higher RPMs oh man tried to get a cool shot now I'm stuck come on G come on come on dig Jeep dig Jeep dig come on we're moving we're still going temperatures looking good it's climbing a little bit but that's where the AEV Hood comes into play because it will actually vent some of that excess temperature out well we made it maybe not with the same confidence that Andre did but we're in the same spot that is the one downside of that solid ax we get a lot of wheel spin it tends to hop up and down the steering wheel goes left and right so you got to be able to hold it on thumbs out of the wheels do you think we should air down you know I didn't tell you this but I'm already slightly aired down but we can go a little bit more um just to try to get to the top of this puppy [Music] foreign [Music] so these tires are almost new but I will say even though the Three Peaks no rated they don't seem to be uh biting into the terrain nearly as well as your uh your good years there you do have a little bit of siping but I don't know if you have the tiny Sipes I will say though even though all the abuse I'm putting this thing through it's holding up pretty well you know I'm kind of half expecting a rod to go shooting through that uh that block when I was holding 6000 RPM but it just didn't it just held it oh come on Jeep downshift there we go in my Bronco you have five so I do have a lot of more ratios to choose from oh great point and dude um what's not helping me even though I are down is my weight I just calculated it I this Bronco weighs 5260 pounds and I only have about 900 pounds of payload which is not very much yeah that's true I mean that vehicle has a lot of accessories from Ford right including the front uh winch mount with the winch on it and that little push bar you've got the roof rack you got the snorkel and all those do add weight over time um what I do love about that Bronco though is I'm really impressed with that four cylinder I really everyone thinks you need to upgrade to the 27 V6 but that four cylinder will get you 99 of places at 99 of the speeds you'd ever want to go I agree I mean the only negative maybe of the four cylinder is it doesn't sound really great you know it has that kind of a higher pitch sound and it may need I mean if you care about sound you may want to think about a different Muffler oh you got to try my favorite thing with that vehicle put down the window the passenger window where the intake is on the snorkel and then kind of juice it a little bit and hear the the turbo spool and then the little blow off sound it's pretty cool [Music] thank you all right so this is our final obstacle we got this sharp right hander up the hill and every obstacle has to have a trendy name so this is Devil's gate to lead the hell's Garden up Satan's crack I don't know it just give it some trendy name but in the snow it's going to be pretty uh pretty slidy hopefully we'll get some nice sideways action and then hopefully make it up the hill without crashing into the fence I'll go first all right buddy I'm giving her all she's got fully locked up aired down second gear on the low range and then give it her heck all right I'll call you home yeah yeah come on it's gonna be harder than I expected I don't know if I can do a lot more wheel spin I'm getting a lot of axle hop this is the issue with the solid axle you know they really have a lot of benefits in dramatic articulation spots in rocks and boulders right but when you're trying to get up a snowy hill here yeah just under you know I don't want to touch 6600 but I'm sitting right at 65. [Music] anyway like I was saying that solid axle is great in a lot of environments but these high-speed uh [Music] High wheel spin situation moments are not it dig dig dig dig think there's going to be some traction up here and there is whoa well it took quite a bit of work but we just completed the last obstacle all right so I'm also using lockers and I'm in for low traction control is disabled okay right there oh easy peasy maybe it's because he went through here oh my God thank you there was no partial thing there well I got a little sideways what I love about the Bronco is that how easy it is to enable the lockers and also to turn assist I wish I had the disconnecting sway bar in this but if you wanted the disconnecting front sway bar for more articulation you can get another Bronco but I love that it always works I don't have to be level on level ground I don't have to do anything special just hit the button it engages and I can go here are the numbers on the Everglades Bronco four-door this is a low number this is one thing I don't like about this 915 pounds of total payload which means 5 Andres in this is not gonna happen maybe it's four Andres rated but you know when you're going Overland you know you need a little bit of extra payload so maybe leave the winch at home there you go Andre leave the winch at home there's the solution and here in the Jeep 850 pounds but that's before 800 pounds worth of accessories so as long as you're under 50 pounds you're well within the limit whoa all right Andre well I think it's fair to say that the Bronco I think did a little better out here today I think so I think it comes down to the tires really I think the territory Mt may be a little bit better in the snow than that Mickey Thompson yeah that's right even though the Mickey is a Three Peaks no rating the territory seem to grip better pretty much across the board but I still had a ton of fun I still made it to the finishing point but uh just with a little bit more wheel spin yeah but of course if you want the Everglades Bronco you do have to pay right I mean it is on the more expensive end of the spectrum for the Bronco well let us know what you guys think in the comment section below is the Everglades worth it would you go for an old JK Wrangler like we did be sure to leave us a comment and as always has been Tommy and Andre we'll see you on the next vid foreign
