[Music] in the previous episodes of wrangler versus defender versus bronco we had some issues with the land rover and its 20-inch wheels entire package but we listened to your feedback because so many of you wanted to see the defender on proper off-road rubber so in this video we've done exactly that we've brought back the ford bronco but this time we're comparing it against a land rover defender on 35 inch tall off-road tires we also brought along a jeep wrangler 392 on 39-inch tall off-road tires to see if the bronco can keep up let's go hit this difficult trail [Music] you're probably thinking oh this is not apples to apples whatsoever and you are right because that defender has 15 to 20k worth of mods on it that wrangler 15 to 20k worth of mods on it this bronco bone bone stock when we did the stock to stock comparison people said you know well how does that stock bronco compared to a more modified vehicle this defender was modified by our friend steve burt steve is the vp gm over at land rover of denver and he wanted to build this defender out to show to the world what it can really do so this is big bertha uh some of you have seen it before and uh we brought it out today so it's on 35s with uh with a four inch lift we weren't just gonna leave it at that though because steve also brought along a wrangler not just any wrangler though a wrangler 392 with a v8 engine a lift kit and these monster off-road tires driven by his son tristan hey yeah we're uh we're cheating a little bit today so this is pancho uh this is a 392 uh build and it's on 39 uh km3s and we've got a evo enforcer lift and uh king dual bypass shocks and uh this one's cheating a little bit for sure the defender is on independent suspension all around and air suspension the wrangler solid axles all around front and back and the bronco has a combination of the two an independent front and the solid axle rear let's take it nice and easy crawling up this little section sway bar is disconnected and the rear locker is on for this section yeah all right slight touch on the bottom there which the others you didn't have but get locked up pretty easily the tfl broncos series is working to support the ronald mcdonald house which is a great charity that helps out the families of children undergoing operations and procedures check them out if you want to support a good cause now the trail we're running is called wheeler lake onyx off-road rates this a seven out of ten a difficult trail check out onyx off-road if you want to find the coolest trails in your area you can find the difficulty rating some pictures and how to get there we're going to air down all three vehicles i'm going to bring these down to about i don't know 18 20 psi and then go from there and see how these goodyear territories hold up now this feels like a large vehicle maybe not as large as the other two because that defender is a chunker and the wrangler is actually pretty compact but when you put 39s on it really spaces out the total width so actually in this group the bronco is not only the cheapest but probably one of the smaller of the three which is pretty funny all right now this is the potential to be a door killer which is what we don't want so i'm going to uh put a lot of faith in these goodyear territories and their sidewall grip to keep me out of the rocks lock up the front of your axles sway bar disconnect on as well and we will see how it goes do not want to be the first person to take out a door on a bronco yeah it feels pretty good feels very wide i'll edit that out in post interesting thing is that defender with the 35s has like 25 inches of ground clearance um and the bronco doesn't and so does of course a jeep but we made it up with a little difficulty we have a legitimate crowd out here watching this vehicle today it's pretty crazy to think about feels pretty good man the grip on these territories is really good nice work god this thing is capable and the best part my favorite part about this new bronco i've got my lockers on off just like that no fighting no blinking lights push the button and they're off [Music] now not all broncos are built the same of course there are both two and four-door configurations there are tons and tons and tons of different trims then the most interesting package is called the sasquatch package which gives you 35 inch tall tires the lockers and all the cool off-road gear quickly finding out though i don't have nearly as much ground clearance as the other two probably not all that surprising because this is a stock vehicle and those are both heavily modified but um spending a lot of time today in skid plates which is uh well it's a good test of the skid plates i'll put it to you like that now being a first edition with the sasquatch package it has every bell and whistle this one the front lock and the rear locker the sway bar disconnect the turn assist so it'll help you make tighter turns by breaking the inside wheel this thing is loaded it's got all the off-road goodies um which is i think a good thing out here because i'm certainly using all of the off-road goodies well we were just tuttling along and then of course 20-foot rock wall what is this yes toodling uh this is uh this is uh v-notch right t yeah v-notch um so this is the middle uh as far as difficulty so we're gonna give this one a shot and uh if that doesn't work out we'll go and take uh take the easier line all right so we're not here to do this we're not gonna do the easy life what's what's the move here i mean what do you think uh so the the hardest part of this obstacle is a very start there's a pretty big depth for your right rear tire and we've got to get that up and then we'll kind of drive a little bit towards tristan there standing up there and uh toward the top it's not that big a deal but the starts a little punchy so how do you like these toyos do you like them uh i really like them we've run them on our jks uh tristan had him on his tj for a while um you know we've got km3s on the on the wrangler how do they compare which one do you like more um i can't tell you that yet because we just started wheeling the the 392 so we're pretty new in the km3 world all right fair enough yeah [Applause] very slow it's gonna drop now let's keep you going straight longer [Music] [Applause] [Applause] okay [Music] braver man than i am i'll tell you that much [Music] [Applause] stop stop don't move well this is a good opportunity now to talk about the underside of the defender yeah so we're in a precarious position never has a man been harder on the brakes some poo is shot out there that's for sure i will say though it does look very very cool there's a good chance we're gonna roll the bead on the right rear because it's pretty punched up there but better than rolling a rig i suppose wow look at that tire so that's the difference between a proper off-road tire and a land rover fits from the factory you can see that thing is pretty much pinched against the sidewall still holding air so tristan slowly back down on the winch steve was able to put it in neutral and back it down ever so slowly but that was something else so i'm going to get a lot of hate for this but i'm not going to take the bronco up that because it's brand new and i do not want to make that phone call to my dad so uh i'll probably go up that side with you and we'll compare them off the rocks i think that's probably a good move tommy yeah yeah i'll let someone else roll the first one and then we can roll the second or the third that'll be the plan good call i don't want to give the impression that just because the defender could not complete the v-notch that it is a bad off-roader this thing in this configuration is incredible off-road but this is one seriously difficult obstacle check out these super built out jeeps that couldn't even make it past where the defender got stuck [Music] [Music] my [Music] oh [Music] it really is cool watching this defender tackle this difficult terrain it's just got so much ground clearance such an impressive approach angle and departure angle now it was not easy fitting these oversized tires there's a lot of modifications under the surface for example it has subframe drops it still rides on its original air suspension but it also utilizes a lift rod which basically tricks the air suspension into riding higher it's also worth noting this one is equipped with all the off-road gear including the factory locking rear diff [Music] [Music] i'm going to take the line the defender just took up the uh right side which is still pretty gnarly so ever disconnect i'll lock my lockers when i get up there come on bronco climb [Music] [Applause] [Music] i can probably give it a little bump from there tristan that's all it took [Music] all right let's see how the front articulation is here yeah not not oh not as good as a wrangler that's for sure sick dude so i think the four-wheel drive system on this is really good the lockers are immediate so the bronco is the first ever vehicle that i have driven it has a front camera that i find helpful and i think it's because the screen is so big and the camera is so clear but like for example the trail cam and the jeep never really found it to be all that useful but this thing especially the 12-inch screen looks phenomenal and because the bronco is wide and i don't think the sight lines are quite as good as a wrangler i'm using it a lot and it is beautifully helpful i do have to say now ride quality off-road very good this is a really oh sorry dad just scratched a new mirror uh this bronco has a really good um ride off-road and i think it is partly because of the independent suspension and when you air the tires down it just is super squishy and the sway bar disconnect and the front helps a lot now one thing that i'm getting caught up a lot on surprisingly off-road is the mount for the rear control arm as it's welded to the frame it just it seems to get caught up quite a bit and part of that is because of the longer wheelbase of the four-door for this kind of stuff i think the two-door would be the way to go so that is a downside other downside doesn't really affect performance of course but this engine just does not sound good uh listening to that 392 in front of me burble away even that defender granted that defender does have an aftermarket exhaust it's just beautiful this kind of sounds like i don't know a blender it's not a great sound but lots of power off-road and locking and unlocking the discs the fastest engagement like i said i've ever seen and it's so cool you can lock the in the front independent from the rear one of my favorite features all right we're gonna do a little articulation test between the three first up the wrangler [Music] with the jeep you can tell both front and rear tires were firmly planted on the ground the whole time didn't pick anything up do you think you'll pick up a tire or two in the defender yeah we'll pick up uh pro we'll probably teeter-totter now you mentioned that um when you're wheeling those land rovers you want to wheel them in the normal height and then lift up to the off-road when you need it can you explain that yeah so when you're lifting it into the off-road height you're you're over inflating the airbag so it gives you a really stiff ride so you you really just go to that mode when you're trying to clear a big obstacle and then you bring it back down to normal and you limit down travel is that right when you go into the highest setting all right cool so [Applause] all right i'm going to show off the party trick in the defender now which is the fact that you can unlock the sway bar well articulated so check this out i'm going to go to the rock we're going to get it articulated and then i'm going to go ahead and unlock the front sway bar or detach the front sway bar parking sensors come on every time we turn the truck off okay you ready for this push the button ah there you go so maybe not quite as good as the uh the wrangler but still pretty cool on the wrangler you can't do that by the way [Music] man this is good for a factory vehicle though [Music] yeah i don't know if i'd take a non-sasquatch bronco up here to be brutally honest with you especially ford or maybe a two-door would be okay but i'm using i'm using this vehicle's capability that's for sure especially the ground clearance has really um been pushed today and i have to say for a stock vehicle it's very impressive i mean we're considering vehicles like i said 20k worth of mods 15k with the mods and this is bone stock as you get it from the factory air down the tires a little bit um and this thing just crawls it really is a very very potent off-road vehicle very impressed with this capability [Music] oh [Music] [Music] so [Music] uh well that was a super cool trail and a huge thanks to steve and tristan for taking us up here and showing us a really amazing part of the country now the wrangler just rocked it right 392 rubicon solid axle it's got the swayer disconnect and with this three and a half inch lift the king shocks the 39s i mean there's pretty much nowhere that this rig won't go the big surprise for me today was the defender it goes to show that this can be an extremely capable vehicle on a set of 18-inch wheels with granted some work to the suspension and those 35s make it look really cool this thing kept up with both of them it really performed well does lift tires every now and then but amazed at the defender and you know kudos to land rover of denver for making that happen and actually bringing it out and using it like land rover intended now the bronco it did well keep in mind guys that this was a bone stock vehicle out of the packaging bought like five days ago and it made it where the other two did even on 35s compared to the wranglers 39s very impressed with the bronco independent front suspension you know gets a lot of naysayers but i think they did an excellent job on the engineering on this setup skid plates work like a dream tires held up well lockers engage quickly so there's a lot of potential in this vehicle and i can't wait to see what people end up doing with these check out steve's channel co trails for more on this adventure all right so just for fun steve wants to run his wrangler up the mountain that almost rolled the defender takes a real real bold character to be like i almost rolled this vehicle let me try another one what a guy [Music] bastard stop there let's go faster forward and passengers no momentum [Music] [Applause] there you go hold that straight oh [Music] oh yeah so how was that dude that was awesome hey we did it so you know a little more articulation than the defender but uh you know big bertha gave it a try i'll give her that she gave us everything she had on that one really gave it a good college try on that one hey i know we've got a lot of channels and it can be hard to keep up with what we're up to so check out tfl-studios.com because we're launching a really handy mobile app for all of our content in one place and now for a tfl tiny review this is a brand new 2022 hyundai kona n and this is a tf010 review got a minute to tell you everything you know about this car so let's start under the hood because under the hood is a powerful two liter turbo that produces 286 horsepower and it's very similar to the one in the blaster and uh there it is of course it powers the front wheels so that's why you've got these very sticky pirelli p0s and of course these big 14 inch brakes inside you've got two buttons they're very similar to the end buttons in the blaster and what they do is they let you customize this vehicle for track work if you're familiar with m cars from bmw it's very similar you also have this red button which is an over boost feature that gives you 10 more horsepower for 20 more seconds of course this being a hot hatch you've got a good amount of room back here and finally you've got these massive check them out my fist almost fits in there exhaust pipes and if you want to carry stuff or animals it is a hot hatch so there is plenty of room this has been a tfl tiny review
