Jeeps vs. Toyotas Overlanding the Ozarks - A 3 Day Adventure

well you guys are definitely in for a treat on this episode here's a sneak peek of what to expect on our latest trip in the ozarks oh my god oh first time i've ever broke on the trail ever we're not even at camp something's not good in there did not look good oh man he is he is sunk some good flex right there somebody splattered my phone there's kind of mud on the back yeah you found it oh you're on your diff the toyota right love having breakfast in the morning at camp especially like with the nice view now come back there you go got it [Music] the ground hey what's up guys thanks so much for checking out the video so this is going to be an epic awesome episode you guys are definitely going to want to watch the whole trip this is the second annual i guess bonfire run that i've been a part of with these guys um ozark overland adventures if you guys remember my first episode or i'm sorry last year with the bonfire run uh one of those videos got over a million views so it was crazy we had such a good time lots of uh you know carnage and just smiles all around it was great but right here we're camping near the mulberry you guys can see how you know close we are to the water how pretty it is actually it's forecasted a pretty gnarly storm tonight but we're gonna i mean we have no choice we're just gonna hang out um but yeah i'm going to flip the camera around and show you guys camp we have lots of cool rigs here um a lot of familiar faces from last year so yeah i hope you guys are really pumped for this episode it's going to be sick all right so we're going to do a small little walk around of camp and see everybody's hanging out over here so we have quite a few people actually in um tents and hammocks um so keeping it kind of light this year so pretty cool i'm still in my tent you guys can see back there but we got matt's jeep you know ozark overland adventures really cool guy um we got kona brock coming along um we have nick's 4runner right here you guys remember last year he smoked uh back here one of the sides he hit a tree so that sucked uh we have john at long creek overland uh he does my merch awesome guy so um guys there'll be a link in the video if you guys want to buy any merch you can check that out but he just got this jeep that's really new to him it's probably his first or second trip out with it um so excited to see that thing we got robert and his big ol forerunner used and abused dents everywhere but you gotta love it um big old forerunner on 35s really cool rig and then we got some more over there i'll show you we'll get to those in a second over here all right we got everyone setting up i didn't we got sorry the lovely nick over here nathan what you got first man got some steak and shrimp and matt's bringing some chicken and we're making hibachi oh hibachi uh he promised us he's gonna do some tong tricks and things like that right some spatula stuff okay i guess not but uh over here some more uh hammocks all around there's lots of handmade it's pretty cool so here's sorry me back up here's my little setup um kind of in the jungle over here but got the truck kind of leveled out down here um yeah looking really cool so this is my first trip actually with my brand new sliders um unfortunately if you guys haven't seen on my instagram or anything like that i uh put a nice lovely dent in the truck from uh from a trip in the mark 20 national forest it was really fun but anyway got these sliders um by max wilder uh he's the one who built my roof rack for my tj really cool so i got these like literally yesterday they're obviously still um still raw gotta powder coat them but we got ryan over here he's got his little rain fly action he actually sleeps in his forerunner really cool full runner fourth gen i got james over here in his jeep pretty freaking cool rig awesome lights very cool let's see your little setup back here yeah come on very cool man the arb fridge all the totes little molly stuff very hopefully it cool out i mean it's not gonna be bad what's up oh yeah all right i'm gonna take you all over to these uh vehicles over here and we'll check them out all right nathan's finished triangle check it out steak shrimp come and get it man looks good so taylor's over here um cooking morel mushrooms it's actually the first time i've ever had one but he had a ton of them and he's uh he's kind of deep fried them so they were actually really good where'd you find these not far from my house nice good morning guys it's been raining non-stop all night it's about 8 a.m and it's still raining pretty good but uh we still slept pretty good kona slept in the truck he's just chilling so we just went out of camp and uh taylor already did a cv somehow like he lost all this front end power these things all-wheel drive you can see the boot is split right there but he can't go anywhere and we're we've literally just left camp so do that again yeah yeah it's your drive shaft that's not good we got nathan's truck we got this one the first time i've ever broke on the trail ever we're not even off you mean that camp yeah all right so we're all pulled over here and uh taylor's backing up you can hear it something is not good in there yeah the cv is just dangling i can see it it's no it's like violently shaking man so first uh i don't think i told you guys this but on friday um they literally got to the trails before i was there on friday and got to the trailhead and nathan's zr2 just completely stopped it completely shut down so he had to get towed out and uh we haven't hit a freaking trail man and then taylor's just busted that's nuts off to a pretty crappy start hopefully we'll make up for it well we finally made it on some trail got the rigs coming in all right so now hopefully the fun begins and no more problems i think there's some more technical sections up here should be pretty good for a video coming up here so [Music] stoked very nice spot with your dip and it cleared out a thing for everybody nice all right guys so just up here look at this this is a huge hole maybe three or four feet right there i know probably sucks on camera but yeah that's that's pretty freaking big you gonna go for it matt oh stick check did not look that's pretty good that doesn't look fun all right here comes the madman this is gonna suck oh yeah it's a good line it's tippy that's that wheel is bearing man that is thick you are he needs to get that rear up there on that all right john i can't even get there tokyo drift [Music] that's crazy you've come so far here goes big john oh he's got the line and he's gonna get stuck yeah punch it you're gonna here's oh it starts feeling sketchy i like the i like the line you're not even halfway up [Music] real hard to uh god get a better angle [Music] gosh that thing's a beast not even the mighty bfg ko2's pantries not even come on matt all right just come forward now this is just peanut butter yeah now you can come forward and go uh we're in crunchy peanut butter i don't even think that has the consistency of peanut butter oh he's he's done it i know robert would be very upset if we had to winch him [Music] the mighty bro dog what we have going on because they don't know what the soft shackle is the soft shackle of shame fun to say three times fast is our little award to those who get themselves stuck and have to be winched out so put it right on the side yeah just frisbee it onto his roof the jeep is rejecting it that's hilarious all right we got ryan's 4runner about to pull him out the toyota right all right please come in here next let's say which toyota is going to try this that's a hard negative all right it's working all right robert's gonna try this uh bonus bonus line so he's obviously skipping that but going this way it's still pretty off camber all right that's a pretty big drop we'll see how she goes nice very nice toyota representing [Applause] oh he's going that way did he just smoke that thing uh he bumped it on this side and popped it out pop it back in uh passenger right there wow that is driver taking down a little guy wow he is touching literally touching noise we got john snaking his way a little bit [Applause] long boy made it nice drive [Music] so we just stopped right here for lunch what do you guys got going back here huh oh man you're cooking it's a little bit we're just heating up that looks damn good a little sandwich yeah i'm just chilling um it's almost noon i think um everybody's snacking protein shakes baby protein shakes yeah oh yeah you got sandwich ham and turkey oh yeah what you guys eating ham sandwiches ham sandwiches man i think just about everybody's got sandwiches i got a wrap yeah matt what are you eating i'm eating a turkey wrap hey kara's having a delicious peanut butter only sandwich nice i think all of us are eating she's in fourth grade my latest creation over here is uh i got a wrap some hot cheetos uh some chicken and some cheese and it's really good you should try it all right guys we're at a fly gap and this is um hanging rock as robert is demonstrating for us it's beautiful up here soft shackle of shame huh you got racing slicks that's doing the the stick test to see if we're gonna go forward or backwards what am i stacking rocks that those roots don't look fun oh i guess it's just a stick huh close wiggle the wheels oh man he's close oh wow very nice it stops you out of gas oh man oh wow dang he was close that one little rock i dropped the difference right there dang he was close i'm winching i'm just rolling in case you fall in the mud so here's the issue that got him in the first place just getting over the hump right here on these ruts um matt just was forced to go this you know back this way i made it by in those ruts but uh i had to go real far left it looks like james is trying the same thing very nice [Music] oh my god matthew splashed the heck out of me well we winced matthew out valiant effort we got pretty close yeah buddy dang 4runner digging in 35s and ifs all right so matt is gonna go down here so in one of my videos um rodney and his dad went down here and there tj try to get a better angle over here that's a good angle right there it's taking it good you gonna get your driver up here there you go yeah very nice some good flex right there very nice very nice that was awesome man stay right there hold that line yeah that's gotta feel awful hello that awning is so dang close geez that's close it's stuffed it is stuffed in it yeah you're following the wheel tracks perfectly that's nice there it is very nice drive [Applause] nice job sir we got mr john coming in a little bit more power driver driver all right that is wicked man your passenger there you go just drive it just drive the rut that's perfect all right we got robert this is gonna be pretty gnarly compared to the jeeps for sure passenger yeah [Music] i can't hear you because his brakes are talking very nice stay there driver oh [Music] try to drive a different [Music] you could just ride this out you could ride it out on the bank wow that is so incredible incredibly sketchy yes baby that was sweet you deserve that was ridiculous so so looks like we uh looks like we left a passenger over here sorry nathan you gotta swim just walking good here's something you don't see too often going backwards to pick up there's a passenger left it's pretty funny bump it yeah all right guys we just made it back to camp and uh we came back just so we could get our chairs so back we got all of our chairs uh now we're gonna head to the actual bonfire um by nigel state overland so gonna go hang out um see quite a few people i think quite a few people are gonna be there it's gonna be good so we'll just hang out a little bit and we're still base camping here um just because everybody's got their hammocks set up and everything so we'll come back here uh tonight and everything so gonna be good see ya hey guys we're here at bird's adventure center um for the natural state overland 2021 [Music] bonfire tons of people out here actually um that is the bonfire it's gonna be incredibly giant yeah um there's several rigs over here there's lots way back in there you can't see um lots more over here but uh beautiful weather it's about six o'clock and uh i actually think we might go back to camp cook dinner and come back and hang out the bonfire i don't really know i'm not leading this trip so matt's uh matt's leading so we'll just follow orders it's so beautiful at birds um check out birds adventure center and natural state overland they have some awesome events here all the time all right guys we just made it back to camp from bonfire nathan and uh we made fresh moments nathan and kara are making salsa for our tacos oh way to go don't go eat it that would be bad go rinse it off in the river um yeah but you've got to be awesome regular hotel and we're adding carne soda now it's not going to be going to be good we're blending margaritas blending at camp because we can because we can that did not take long that was like [Music] all right here's a little update james what you got there got some uh deer sausage and some um pineapple and jalapeno stuff wow that's gonna be good it's different nathan's cooking it up over here john's got some carne asada in his diy scottle which is super cool all right guys so hopefully you can see me um we actually ended up just kind of chilling here instead of going back to the bonfire so yeah it was just too peaceful and too nice and we just had our dinner and all of our ballers are cool so we're just kind of hanging here um but uh camp like i camped last night it was like right there just right there um i decided to pull over here next to the water because there's not gonna be any rain or storms tonight so hopefully the sound of the water put me to sleep but uh yeah it is beautiful in this spot um got the truck set up right here so we're just gonna chill right here um john and robert are right over there i don't know if you can see it and taylor and his wife are right there so yeah i'm gonna kind of hang around the campfire for a little bit longer tonight and then you know come back here get a good night's sleep and in the morning i'm going to make some bacon and eggs right here by the water um kind of like a tradition from last year i made you know breakfast and dinner and all that kind of stuff next to the water which is really fun so we're gonna do that uh kona kona has already taken a full swim in there um which he was not allowed to do but uh he's having the time of his life so all right bye y'all i'm gonna go back to the campfire [Music] check it out guys yeah don't put it on top of that so what do you got for us right here what kind of cobbler what kind of cobbler apple come on the chef's got to know apples and pineapples there you go apples and pineapples i have some please good job caleb good job looks very good and robert you made bread over there there's monkey bread over there morning guys i'm still really groggy haven't had my coffee but very nice it didn't rain at all last night um slept very good i'm cooking a proper breakfast this morning uh let me flip the camera around actually so i'm cooking the classic bacon and eggs um eggs back there petty jean bacon i got some of this starbucks coffee i'm just heating up so i won't have to really work at making a whole fresh cup but i'm so excited love having breakfast in the morning at camp especially like with the nice view it is awesome conan what do you think buddy conan has been awesome again on this trip he's been loving it look what i got dad yeah good boy all right guys we're back on the trail for uh sunday it's so nice out it says 54 degrees but it's supposed to get to like 72 today so gonna be really nice so so on that last shot somebody splattered my phone there's kind of mud on the back robert did you splatter my phone smud maybe probably oh this is the life set up the camera run around get exercise get back in the truck and that's the drill run boy run all right so our first fun spot of the day this rock ledge right here um i buy this absolutely beautiful stream so might not look like much on camera but pretty nice uh kind of little dip right here right after that so so [Music] so so ah good uh you got the beast runner coming in [Music] me you want me to toss you my sandals it doesn't look the best send it ooh nice got another little crossing here [Applause] all right so we just finished up um one section of trail and uh james back there is uh gonna air up and go ahead and head home i think he lives kind of far away um so yes we are going to do um one section of the ozark overland adventure trail um it's kind of a little bit more technical and then in about an hour hour and a half we're gonna go to or cafe in the trip we'll eat and we'll all head home from there and it'll be awesome so mr james is saying bye james and his son caleb so we'll see you guys next on the trail robert just added a custom touch to uh james's jeep it's awesome we got mr mcclellan here think he's stuck that is a affirmative we got a plus one for the toyotas right here pulling out mr jeep but robert's eating this up he is excited to pull out a jeep matt stuck again his rear end is in it dude oh man he is he is sunk i'll get that insert let me get that yeah yeah yeah look at that matt i think you found it in search of mud there she goes yum yum look at that tire oh my gosh it's just straight clay there you go some good old chunky butter okay matt do you have something to say i did this for your video you send yours through it for my video i did not do that that is a negative come on oh yeah he went
