squirrel's abandoned car restoration automotive.com today we're going to be working on the square body we got a lot of work to do let's get to it hell yeah brother you're on the pleas YouTube channel all right well guys you saw the roll back video we're going to need that big block now for that project so what just so happened to work out is the big block didn't fit really well in Thunder our Australian Ute so what does fit well is this LS engine that we have from Texas Speed this engine was actually for rocket the 240 drift car but we've decided it's getting recommissioned to go into Thunder which should make your job a little easier huh it's a Bend deal especially his job way easier that boy is about to do a lot of fabricating to make the big block fit because there really wasn't a great option for us to do front sump on the big block on this deel you can see we have a front sump oil pan on it so you know this is the front of the engine looks like it's the back because of this oil pan but we can easily do do a front sump setup on this which should hopefully slide right into this gaping hole and make this build way easier than it was going to be with the big block and then we have a big block for the roll back so you going to stuff it in there real quick I'm yeah test for real quick and see the uh the internet says that GTO and C5 Corvettes have the same upper mounts yeah and being that this is a GTO subframe in this we had a set5 mounts it do oh it definitely looks just like a Corvette oh the motor I was like there's no way that oil pan like that when the keyboard guys try to be mechanics whoa come on man 6:00 a.m. no need to fire shots that early listen George and I going to go out in the park while I show you what real mechanic this would have been what the bolts are doing we might be able to just torch them puppies yeah all right's do it you got to pick up on pick up on the cab from the top uh probably bro who is messing with all my [Laughter] bre why do the brakes work on nothing now we have did I'm so sick of this brakes issue if you did that to the good cab I would just start walking yeah that's not going to happen I'm going to Key West well neither of them work we got to redo everything so I guess if we can just get these bolts out we rip this cab off and then work our way backwards minus the PTO this is probably our p right here oh yeah yeah yeah good call on that yeah everything else the brakes will be different everything's going to be different we get some tbms for it yeah TBM brakes on the tow truck monster truck ones yeah of that we're going to be using out of this truck no that's true but the PTO cable we did we we did not unhook oh front wheels off the [Laughter] ground hit Rodney definitely hit Rodney okay what what holding it tucked up now yeah what's holding it right now so we forgot about the clutch line the brake lines Tire steering line the air conditioning lines speedometer cable Speedo cable we also forgot about the PTO cable the wiring did all the wiring Sal all we could saw all it yeah I don't want to go under there no same [Music] who nice nice dude is that a heater hose or something what is that world's strongest Air Condition line hang on let me cut that puppy oh so this guy yeah this guy right here dude that guy is pissing me off yeah and he's just a little rubber fella well and the PTO all right well one thing we learned from this is we need a better strategy for picking up that cab agreed this isn't the cleanest way to do [Music] it that a strong right there yeah it is nice now the PTO cord you're probably still on hook we can figure out how cutting that that's all you got to do to engage it and disengage it right there she's a little crank all right so what are we thinking we just put this cab over there we'll get that scrapped and then we bring the other truck over here nice and close and we can just do a little transfer but we got to get this cleaned up we got to restum the frame oh we got to pull this engine out yeah we do a big one in there the question is is this transmission the same as the other truck cuz that would really save us a lot of time and headache I don't even know what that is it's a granny gear for oh don't know dude it might be a three that's a three Banger really no no oh no three four reverse yeah I mean we're good the same one as the other one all right so let's get this cab out the way then we can assess clean up our situation see what we're looking at we got to pull this whole drivet train out yeah and then we got to get that cab off but we got to do that neatly that's going to take a little more time than this and take a look at what we got and then we can decide what we got to do to make this thing right be good these tool boxes I'm already seeing rusted all the way through they got to go we're going to have to get some Freshies we're definitely going to want another fuel tank too that sucker is done for you might have to go bed back so we get access to all this there's a lot going on we got to get this Muffler out we got to get this wiring out the way get these brake lines out the way I want everything out the way so we got a nice fresh clean start when we put that nice cab on it that's resting right over there so so we'll pick up tomorrow all righty guys well day two we got to get this cab off of here we got to do it a little bit more gently than we did yesterday we got to keep her clean this thing's in good shape yeah I heard there's not a dent on it there's literally that's what I heard someone say so we're trying to figure out a plan right now to pull this off without bending or denting it probably going to get at least one dent on it we know the forklift doesn't have brakes yeah so we we just got to be smooth and then also we have to remove everything properly or it's just going to make our job harder down the road so I guess let's start by getting everything out of it getting ready to do the old swap rusi I'm ready we got to get this off and then we got to get to that transmission see if it's the same trans then we'll pull that transmission off and try and hook it to the big block and that'd be good that'd be good if it fit that'd be real nice if it fit convenience of a Shyer forklift just sitting around dude unbeatable this is working out great drifting dude I really hope the Transmissions are the same how much time and money that would save us probably a lot see as though we already blew past our budget with saw all blad I think it's going to work I think it's the same baby in one Mint Condition I don't know how we undo the clutch pedal too cuz the last one we just ripped off but are we going to try we're going to try and keep this master brake master and oh that now we got us a cab so I talked to Derek he said if you take a strap and you put it through the cab it's all good but you got to have the door shut which we didn't do yesterday we put the fork right on the roof bad idea can't do that so we got to do the strap through the doors that's what gives it the support and then I'm thinking we take another strap and we just do one of these jobs where we just take it put it right here okay it's pretty sturdy you know sure and that'll pick up the front you guys want to come outside and witness Glory George and I want to show you our fine work trying point we just got home we just got to cut it Oran that one's good so we got to put that shifter on yeah that one's Chrome anyways I mean cut that parking brake cable and see if it and see if it goes video we got to clean the chassis we talked to Holly about a front accessory drive for the big block and we're going to try and put that transmission on the big block which we're really hoping that bell housing fits not sure about the clutch yet So the plan is on the next video we got to clean the chassis paint it we got to put the engine transmission on it see what works and what does not work then we're going to put the cab on get it wrapped and the tow truck should be done it's that easy when cleer and squirrel are on the job it gets done in absolutely no time at all and the work is
