excited to be in the house of god amen let's open our bible together let's go straight into the word from mark chapter 4 verse 35 to 41. first i want to say thank you to pastor stephen sister angeline the church family for praying for me and my fiance josephine for keeping us in your prayers i'm not supposed to be back home just yet but home is where i need to be and i'm glad i'm in the embrace of the family of god and i know the prayers of the saints has been you know lifting my spirit up and the moment i landed in north carolina and you know i i want to be honest and as raw as possible there was a heaviness over me and but i went through a journey with god in the past few days and um i feel like god is recalibrating some things in my life and that's what i want to share to you this morning but i want to say thank you for the old church family for the love and the embrace that you guys give you guys give and i know that we thank god for jmk shelby north carolina that god is raising up true families not just by words but the action that speaks louder than our words amen mark chapter 4 verse 35 to 41 i like to always give titles to my message today i want to speak on but by my spirit says the lord from the book of zechariah chapter 4 it is a key verse that the lord gave to me personally entering 2021 but first i want to share something about the peace of god on january 10 2021 this year when i wake when i woke up in the morning i heard the lord say a statement to me and the statement was peace is not determined but by what seems to be happening around you but by whom you are in the boat of life with i woke up that morning with that word vibrating in my heart i wrote a statement and i put it up on my blog when god spoke about peace and and the picture he gave was from mark chapter 4 verse 35 to 41. and to be honest when i received that word i did not have a clear understanding to it i was just typing it up i said amen to it but after i was not able to fly to indonesia for my wedding which i was very excited about i understand that the lord was preparing me and he was teaching me how to navigate through circumstance and challenges in the peace of god you know the biggest challenge was in the month of december a few days before we entered our seven days of prayer and fasting i knew that indonesia was about to go on lockdown and some were advising you should fly go to indonesia get the wedding done but i made a commitment before god that i will be consecrating the first seven days to seek the face of god and when i was in los angeles i want to be honest with you the day that i i i prayed i asked lord you're able to make a way where there seems to be no way right and i was still not able to fly i had to take one day where i did not want to touch my phone i just want to be quiet and i went through a time of dealing with god but i thank god for one phone call from our senior pastor and there was a statement that lifted me up and he and he he prayed he spoke into my life and i thank god you know for fathers in the spirit he said one statement i want to share with you and i pray the lord will give me the opportunity to say the same statement to those that will come after me he says son you cannot isolate yourself as long as you keep your heart open whether you are in the edge of hell or in whatever cliff in hell i know how to pick you up but if you shut yourself in and you shut down nobody can help you that statement gave me the spark to get back up again and get back in the ring was there an explanation no i still cannot go back to indonesia i still can't but i'm going to let god be god and life is going to continue to move forward it's easy for us to receive revelation and oh the word of god is so wonderful but the moment you're going through the challenges in life that's when whether the word of god is made alive in you or not to be honest when i was down i look back at the notes on january 10th of what the lord spoke and and my spirit won't pick it up after you allow yourself to open up before god then the word can seep into your spirit and the word can do its work but there needs to be a willingness from our part some of us today might be going through difficult moments in our life it's not about knowing why but it's about knowing that god is with you he who have begun a wonderful work in your life it's faithful to accomplish it until the very end can somebody say amen the book of mark chapter 4 verse 35-41 the lord jesus says peace is not determined by what is happening around you but by whom you are in the boat of life with in mark chapter 4 everybody knows the story of how when the lord jesus called his disciples to cross over the sea of galilee and to go over to the other side right but i want you to pay attention to these scriptures and there's a few things that i picked up that is very powerful in mark chapter 4 verse 35 i'll read it for all of us one verse at a time the bible says on that day when evening had come he said to them let us go across to the other side pay attention to that word let us go across to the other side okay this is just a prelude of what i want to speak from zechariah chapter four when i paid attention i meditated on this one line i researched the word go across and i found that the greek word for go across it actually means to go through when god wants to bring us from one point to another it is not just jumping it is not just an instant work of you being from point a to point b so i realized when jesus said to his disciples it is time to go across jesus was actually saying to them we need to go through something to go to the next point where my father wants me to be do you know when we want to go to the destination in which god wants you and i to walk through in life god is saying it is not going to be just an easy peasy lemon squeezy type of deal for you to go from point a to point b but there are some things in sla in life that you just have to go through to go through means through the thick and the thin the trouble and the storm and the waves you have to be in the midst of the wave you have to be in the midst of the storm it is not just because you are a christian or you are a believer in christ the world is going through the storm and you are going to be exempted no what the world is going through the church is going to go through but there is a difference between how the world is going to respond and how we as believers are supposed to respond in verse 36 the bible says the next verse it says and leaving the crown they took him with them in the boat just as he was i want you to pay attention that is such a powerful line because it's not jesus who took them it was them who took him do you see that it is not jesus that says come come to the boat that i've prepared for us for us to go through it was the disciples that says lord you come with us they took him with them in the boat just as he was and other boats were with him so jesus had many different options of using different boats to get to the other side but the disciple says lord you come with us in our boat and you know if you read in verse 34 right before they crossed over in verse 34 jesus spoke to the disciples without a parable okay but privately to his own disciples he explained everything the disciples that took jesus in their boat they just had a conference session with jesus where they heard all the juiciest stuff from heaven that was not made available to the crowd the disciples took jesus in a position where they were just loaded with so much revelation do you see that they just spent a day with jesus they heard the secrets of heaven made known only to them in their excitement they said lord come with us come on our boat we'll go to the place where you want to take us but what happens in verse 37 watch the saints and a great windstorm arose and the waves were breaking into the boat so that the boat was already filling the problem began the disciples did not realize that jesus was saying we're about to go to point b but we got to go through some things the boat was rocked the water began to come in problems begins to appear and the disciples realized oh my goodness what are we getting ourselves into many times that's us we are the one who invited jesus in our lives lord come have your way the moment we said lord have your way oh my goodness what did i just pray verse 38 the bible says but he was in the stern asleep on the cushion and they woke him and said to him teacher do you not care that we are perishing well he baffled me you know if let's say i'm one of the disciples let's say i'm the most obnoxious when i'm peter right and and the water is inside the boat and the boat is about to sink let's say all hands needs to be on deck we need to get as many buckets as possible remove the water from within the boat if i was peter i would be saying lord we are about to sink we need your help come on let's throw out some water from inside the boat i'm trying to imagine myself in the boat when when you are in a condition where you are about to sink you know you're trying to rally everyone in the boat to have the same mindset the goal is for us to not sink but to make it but instead the disciple says teacher do you not care that we are perishing i find that statement and that question to be baffling and the lord gave me the understanding the disciples were offended by jesus they were offended lord why are you sleeping you don't care about me but it was them who invited jesus in their boat it is their responsibility to make sure that their teacher should get over to the other side safe and sound brothers and sisters fear and dealt fear will make us to be offended with god sometimes we feel lord i've been walking with you i've been doing what you told me to do i've been faithful in my church i've been praying but why is the circumstance against what i have been believing for the moment i could not fly the devil begin to throw darts at me and some people begin to say things would be different if you just flew in the month of december to indonesia but i said no way will i apologize for the decision of my commitment before god there are times when we go through life the enemy will try to convince you to say that what you have stood for all along it's not working out but are we willing to say no god my conviction with god will remain intact for i know who is in the boat with me the lord jesus was in the boat he knew what was about to happen he's the all-knowing god in flesh but he chose to sleep he chose to rest in the midst of the storm but he was unveiling what is in the heart of the disciples offense was still in their heart and offense is triggered when we are gripped by fear and uncertainty they just heard all the revelation jesus gave but everything poof kapoof it went empty and blank from their mind all they cared for is their own life verse 39 the bible says and he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea peace be still and the wind ceased and there was a great calm when the lord jesus says peace jesus was not saying shalom but that word peace jesus was saying be silent and be quiet when we have the peace of god in our lives you will have the authority to shut the mouth of the devil peace is not always where everything suddenly becomes quiet no peace is the ability to supernaturally respond the right way you don't blame other people no you see the problem and you see the storm and you speak the word of god and the will of god over it and when we have peace in moments when we are going through turmoil and things are uncertain it is best for us to be silent and the next verse the bible says and he said to them why are you so afraid have you still no faith jesus a second question baffled me once more the lord jesus did not say have you no faith but he says have you still no faith jesus was teaching his disciples and they have went through episodes with him but still he was not able to find that faith in his disciples faith will only be found when we are in the midst of crisis when the nation of the earth is going through crises personally when your family is going through crises when your marriage is going through crises when whatever that you have planned is going through crisis that's when faith will be made alive if we learn to walk in the peace of god can somebody say amen the next verse the bible says and they were filled with great fear and said to one another who then is this that even the wind and the sea obeyed him they thought they knew they knew their teacher but they saw the authority of god that was operating through the life of the lord jesus christ the lack of peace is when we as god's people is more fearful of perishing and dying rather than having confidence in his presence with what is going through with kovar and the world is still going berserk because of this thing let fear not grip our hearts but know that god is with us god is for us can somebody say amen it is better to fear god than to fear death it is better for the church to fear god than to fear anything else that might be happening in our lives the book of isaiah chapter 8 verse 10 the bible says this year it's important for us to understand the name of god emmanuel god he is with us in isaiah chapter 8 the verse 10 the bible says this very powerfully the bible says in verse 10 take counsel together but it will come to nothing speak a word but it will not stand for god is with us amen people can be planning bad things against you the nations can be planning and people in power can be planning to do evil and they can try to stand before almighty god but the people of god will not be shaken we will stand knowing it is not because of our own might nor because of our own power because we know god is with us in the midst of the struggle it doesn't matter what people are trying to do against us it doesn't matter how the church is trying to be pushed to the corner as long as god is with us we will make it through somebody say amen you can write it down and read it at home ephesians chapter 4 verse 1 to verse 7. in that portion of scripture i'll just read it for you it says the apostle paul said i therefore a prisoner for the lord urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called that's our assignment to walk in your calling keep on walking in the assignment which god has called you to with all humility and gentleness with patience bearing with one another in love eager to maintain the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace that is time for us to make peace but that is time for us to maintain peace when the disciples were crossing the sea of galilee jesus is already in the boat sometimes what we need to do is we need to go back to the word of god maintain what god has spoken in our life maintain what god has deposited in our life hold the line don't quit that's what the bible says to maintain the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace and then it says there is one body and one spirit the body of christ on this earth it is going to be identified by by which spirit are we operating under is not by our branding anymore it is by the leading of the spirit of god one body led by one spirit holy spirit is steering the wheel of the body that's why unity can only be achieved when we come in corporate prayer and worship and seeking the face of god together we thank god that we have our early morning prayer god is calling us in this year to seek the face of god together why that's when unity can be formed when the spirit begins to infiltrate each and every one of us that we are all will be in sync with the same heart mind goal and the perception that god wants us to have say amen god calls the five folk ministers in ephesians chapter 11 to verse 16. it's powerful the assignment is in verse 12 and beyond to equip the saints for the work of ministry for building up the body of christ until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the son of god to mature manhood to the measure of the stature of the fullness of fullness of christ so that we may no longer be children this is the time for the church to grow up somebody say amen touch your neighbor and say in jesus name let us grow up so that we are not infants babies who are helpless who cannot do anything tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about but by every win of doctrine you see that you know the next line it says by human cunning you know what human cunning is fraud how do we respond to fraud when we are cheated it's not time for us to get angry it is not for us time to blame each other no no no jesus was saying this will happen so that you can stand and you know how to respond by every win of doctrine by human cunning which is fraud and craftiness in deceitful schemes didn't the lord have warned us through his prophet this year that we need to be careful of manipulation and trickery we gotta grow up that's what the bible says rather this is our assignment jesus is giving us a warning this will happen the wind and waves of doctrine you're gonna see fraud everywhere you're going to feel cheated deceit trickery mockery from people all around you but the assignment comes in the name in the next statement when it says rather speaking the truth in love the church cannot be silent you need to speak the truth in love be silent when you are tempted to voice your opinion led by your emotions that will only bring strife and anger but do not stop speaking the truth because when you speak the truth in love you learn to grow up in every way to him who is the head into christ the bible says from whom the whole body joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped when each part is working properly makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love a strong matured effective powerhouse that's whom god is calling his church to be in these end times peace is not keeping silent and having the let it be attitude whatever is whatever no that's not peace peace is not found in compromise peace is not just mere feeling but peace is when you experience god for yourself peace is a powerful weapon of warfare and it is not for the faint-hearted amen when the name jehovah shalom was invoked in judges chapter 6 gideon was in the midst of problem the nation was facing the midianites gideon thought i am a nobody and god is now calling me in the midst of that turmoil and struggle he called upon god he is my peace peace is the weapon that we need to reach war with in the season ahead amen peace is not isolation of you shutting down and just being wallowed bits of itself but the apostle paul says walk in your calling walk in the assignment don't stop and don't quit even though the going gets tough amen zechariah chapter 4 verse 6. this is the main verse which i want to share to you this morning i pray it will bless you will strengthen you zechariah chapter 4 verse 6 the bible says so he said to me this is the word of the lord to zerubbabel not by might nor by power but by my spirit says the lord of whose i felt this was a scripture that god gave me personally for 2021 where the church will learn how to yield to the spirit it means this season ahead we can have our assumption of what will happen but god is saying you've seen nothing yet because it's not by mind it is not by the great vastness of army or how many people is agreeing with you it is not by power it's not by your influence it is not by your wealth it's not by your position it's by my spirit i love what the message translation says for zechariah chapter 4 6-7 ben can we have that i love it it says this zechariah chapter 4 verse 6-7 the messenger angel says can you tell and he says no sir i said then he said this is god's message to zerubbabel you cannot force these things don't try to figure it out yourself you can force these things because they only come about through my spirit don't strive sometimes when the going gets tough we become know it all we try to push things with our own strength and god says you can't force it when i said it's not time it's not time when i said it's not that's not how it's supposed to be done no matter how hard you try to do it you can't do it zerubbabel was given the task to rebuild the house of god together with joshua the high priest in hagai chapter 1 verse 1 the lord has prepared us i want to encourage all of us to seven days pray and fasting the messages that we heard from pastor stephen francis every night bring it to your memory meditate on it because that is the key in how we are going to walk through in 2021 and beyond he told us to build and now in the nations and in the church there is an attack against prophetic ministry but you know with the building with what god is about to do on in this nation and even the nations of the earth when god called zerubbabel and joshua the high priest to build in ezra chapter five verse two and you need to open ezra chapter five verse two the prophets of god were supporting the building of the temple then zerubbabel the son of and joshua the son of joseph arose and began to rebuild the house of god that is in jerusalem and the prophets of god were with them supporting them the prophetic ministry a strong prophetic church a prophetic hub like what god is building in shall be north carolina is crucial for the building of what god has in store is god recalibrating he is i thank god that we are going through what we are going through in the nation and in the nations of the earth why because we are brought to a place where we say lord we can't do it unless you show up amen whether we want to admit it or not the church has been prideful thinking because things are going like how it's supposed to be it's good we celebrate the mercies and the grace of god but when challenges is being presented before us it is time for us to buckle up strengthen ourselves and look ahead because god has not changed his mind his plans and his purposes in your life in our church in our nation in the nations it is still intact amen god is bigger than our limitations and our weaknesses he is absolutely god is calling his church this is the year to build i thank god once again pastor said today don't be shocked when a lot of things are going to get done because call god has called us to work amen free up your schedule be intentional and be involved in the work of god one thing is for sure if you invest your time and your energy in god god is a good pay master whatever that you need and desire god will give it to you and i believe that with all of my heart right now for my marriage for my wedding day i i still cannot see it but i know god is working things out we don't do it we don't do what we do for god because we expect god to bless us we know he will bless us because he is our good father but when we do the work of god it's a privilege to serve almighty god on january 1st when we were praying and worshipping i was standing there and worshiping and the lord gave me a vision i saw a sword came out from the ground it shoot up from this place and i thank god in this place god is going to build his axes his spheres and his sword that we will become a weapon in the hand of a warrior amen wow what a powerful thing god is gonna do in our midst moving forward this is the year where the lord is training his church to learn the power of yielding to his spirit and yielding means there are times that we just need to rest when we don't understand when the spirit of god moves he moves in power and might but the might and the power of god is supernatural and when we talk about the supernatural the supernatural is not only about how it works but who is at work it's about the person of jesus we're excited for what god is about to do but we need to get to know the one who is doing what he is doing the greatest honor for the church is to be conformed to the image of christ somebody say amen and in hagai chapter 2 verse 5 just write down the scriptures what is going to happen in the working and the building of the temple of god the house that god wants for himself is through the outpouring of holy spirit how god says don't you forget when you came out from egypt how my spirit was with you according to the covenant that i made with you when you came out of egypt my spirit remains in your midst oh man you experienced victory before but now you're going through a phase where you need to rebuild god is giving you a promise my spirit is there with you i have not left you and i will not leave you and forsake you amen his spirit speaks of his direction his breath of life his spirit speaks of yielding to the emotions that god is feeling what is god thinking and feeling about the bible reminds us if we are spirit filled it means we are spirit led remember that galatians chapter 5 verse 25 to 26 if we live by the spirit let us also keep in step with the spirit i want you to write down that phrase keep in step with the spirit verse 26 let us not become conceited provoking one another and envying one another if you are in step with the spirit you don't provoke one another you don't become conceited it's not all about you and you don't envy one another we need to learn how to walk in love this year and moving forward the devil will try to sway the church to keep us out of step we can be starting in the spirit but we must make sure that we finish in the spirit we need to be careful so that our flesh will not interfere don't let the flesh interfere you might be starting off right with god but keep in step with the ways of the spirit don't start in the spirit then you get sidetracked because of what pride self begins to reappear how do we view ourselves in the midst of others and how we treat others when they are in our midst how do you view yourself when you're in the midst of other people and how do you treat other people when they are in your midst that's why jesus says the greatest of it all is love walk in love church somebody say amen not by might nor by power but by my spirit says the lord might and power it speaks of our own pride i can do it i know how but might and power also speaks of our limitation because at the end of the day no matter how mighty how powerful we are we are not god might and power speaks of striving not yielding might and power speaks of our own timing and not god's timing because when we do things our way there is always a limitation of time that goes along with it but god is not bounded by time might and power speaks of the emphasis on us and not god amen you know during the um tuesday morning prayer the first one we had on tuesday pastor stephen spoke from the lord's prayer and how the lord jesus kept on saying our father that's how he taught his disciples right when he kept on saying our father our father i thought about it many times the lord will always refer to my father in my father's house there are many mentions didn't he say that my father and i but this time when he's teaching us how to pray he says our father so he included his disciples to be in the same place with him like how he was or how he is with the father he says our fathers i say now you're not outsiders no no you're now part of me i am praying with you you are praying with me and we call him together our father that oneness and i thank god i said lord teach me about prayer that every time when we pray jesus is praying with us when we are praying we get to know him in a deeper way so if let's say we say with the lord jesus our father when jesus was hanging on the cross and he cried father father can we feel what jesus felt because we share that brotherhood with him god wants to share his burden with us jesus wants to share his heart with us because he has brought us to a place where we can be one like how jesus and the father is one somebody say amen and you know that's powerful about discipleship it means when the disciples are going to be training and teaching other disciples the disciples will be saying when you pray you say our father you get more of god's children to be inducted in the family of god discipleship is not just about teaching it's by exemplifying because we can't share and teach and we can't disciple what we ourself has not experienced with god somebody say amen let's go back to zechariah chapter four now let's go to verse seven what is the bible says zechariah chapter four verse seven it says this who are you o great mountain before zerubbabel you shall become a plane and he shall bring forth the top stone amid shouts of grace grace to it do you know in rebuilding the temple at that time zarubabel had to face obstacles political practical spiritual when you want to do the assignment that god has given you there will be a process when god wants to bring the israelites out of egypt into the promised land they have to face the red sea try to imagine what moses have to say to the people that's why the people are always complaining to moses day and night night and day day and night because at sea it's as if the promise that was given to the people is not coming to pass but god is at work there will be obstacles but when we learn to the yielding of his spirit do you know that it is god who speaks to our mountain you don't speak to your mountain anymore god is the one who speaks god is the one who says oh great mountain before zerubbabel you shall become a plane god is the one who stands for you he releases his word and he becomes your champion why we are yielding to his spirit where our problems become his is no longer ours to whom to zerubbabel why is aruba because he was building the house of god ephesians chapter 2 verse 20 speaks of the lord jesus as the chief cornerstone right and how the foundation of the church is built on the apostles speaking of evangelism discipleship and the prophets the rebuilding of the temple took the collaboration of prophets and apostolic leaders who pioneered the movement have we haven't we been hearing this statement that god has called us to be builders in the house of god amen god has called us to build but the book of psalm chapter 118 verse 19 to 20. i want you to open this psalm chapter 1 18 be careful it says open to me the gates of righteousness that i may enter through them and give thanks to the lord we have to enter through gates of righteousness the choices that we make what do we align ourselves with do we align with righteousness right now what is happening good is being called evil and evil is being called good but will we go through the gates of righteousness verse 20 the bible says next verse this is the gate of the lord the righteous shall what shall enter through it next verse until verse 22 we keep on going i thank you that you have answered me and have become my salvation the stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone do you know that there are builders who reject the cornerstone let us not be builders who reject the lord jesus we reject his truth we reject what he has to say it is possible because it says the stone that the builders rejected let us not be one of those builders the cornerstone in a building of a structure is important without the cornerstone the building will be unstable in these end times churches and believers who built not on the strong foundation of jesus who rejects the cornerstone can be easily identified the moment new crisis comes you will be wavering and shaking away afraid cannot do this cannot do that what if is because there is no stability the cornerstone gives stability to the building which is being built not by might nor by power but by my spirit says the lord amen very quickly i want us to go through this number one by his spirit we will be brought to our assignment why must be why must we be led by the spirit because only through the spirit will we know what is it that god wants us to do many are saying these days i'm lost i don't know what to do what am i supposed to be doing with my life now when kovitz starts to happen jobs are being shut down people lose their business you know some things that they have planned for many years is now taking a diversion where they have to go through a brand new chart it is not by might nor by power but by my spirit says the lord because only through the spirit of god we will be in the right place at the right time and we will know what is it that god wants us to do you will see that in the life of the prophet ezekiel in ezekiel chapter 37 verse 1 to verse 3. famous scripture right but we'll just go through it this is point number one by his spirit will we be we will be brought to our assignment ezekiel chapter 37 verse 1 to verse 3 the hand of the lord somebody say together with me the hand of the lord was upon me you see that and he brought me out in the spirit of the lord and set me down in the middle of the valley and it was full of bones next verse and he led me around among them and behold there were very many on the surface of the valley and behold they were very dry that's the condition that's the assignment that god gave to ezekiel to me it's not a pretty it's not a fun assignment the moment the hand of the lord came upon ezekiel brought by the spirit of god ezekiel was brought to a place of absolute desolation there is nothing else that you can do god did not bring ezekiel to a place where ezekiel saw the grandeur of what god is about to do what he saw was a problem a major problem verse 3. and he said to me son of man can these bones live and ezekiel answered smart answer oh god only you know in other words ezekiel was saying i don't know smart right i love his answer it baffles me almighty god says to a human being son of man can these problems be solved can these bones live ezekiel knew the answer i don't know i don't think so but instead ezekiel says oh lord god only you alone know do you know it's okay for us not to know instead of trying to become a smart aleck before god and try to fit the puzzles ourselves it's okay to say lord i don't know but you do i'm going to yield to what you have to say our assignment comes when we submit to the hand of god when we say lord have your way in me god will put us in our assignment do not confuse assignment with ambition you want to do something it's not necessarily what god wants you to do sometimes we think we are a problem solver imagine if ezekiel walked to this valley and he starts to sing let's see what i can do with this bone it was god who brought him to that place let us not confuse assignment with ambition it's different assignment is not initiated by you but assignment is initiated by god our assignment is all about the heart of god over his people that's why it's okay not to know because in every assignment that god gives to us personally individually in a church there is a mystery behind it what is the mystery the heart of god behind it that is the quest god is not looking for opinion but god is looking for willingness to align with who he is and god is preparing the church in these days by his spirit to become problem solvers and not troublemakers yield to his spirit if you're saying lord what am i supposed to do now yield to his spirit just keep on walking the journey of faith keep on being faithful in doing what you've been doing all along until god takes you by his hand and place you in the place of your assignment somebody say amen number two by his spirit we will be brought to our training number one is to know our assignment number two god is training us for us to become effective in our assignment we need to go through the training we need to go through the testing and we see that in the life of our lord jesus christ in the book of matthew chapter 4. okay this is point number three two in matthew chapter four the bible says verse one okay verse came when holy spirit came and descended on the lord jesus christ and the father in heaven gave the validation this is my beloved son with whom i am well pleased verse one of chapter 4 then jesus was let up by the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil that word tempted in greek is the word perazo which means tested the then jesus was let up by the spirit into the wilderness to be tested we cannot fail in the testing because in the testing we're being qualified for our assignment we can survive the testing through the leading of the spirit jesus was let up by the spirit not by might nor by power but by my spirit says the lord thank god it is a culture in jesus miking church to start the year with prayer and fasting and i'm seeing it you know what's the key for jesus to pass through the testing he was praying and he was fasting you know the story of what happened in the temptations but the devil kept on repeating one statement in each type of the testing he kept on saying if you are the son of god he always starts his statement by saying that you see that if you are the son of god if you are the son of god if you are the son of god is jesus the son of god yes absolutely jesus knows his identity but the devil was trying to trick him the devil was trying to bring frustration in the life of jesus pay attention to the word trickery that was continually mentioned in the seven days of prayer and fasting don't get tricked trickery comes when we are frustrated jesus knows who he is can you imagine the devil can say if you are the son of god if you are praying the devil likes to taunt us like that right if you are truly believing if you are truly doing what is right then we become agitated and frustrated that's what the devil wanted for jesus to be frustrated we need to learn how to reject the frustration how how do we reject the frustration by reminding yourself of who god is through the word that's why jesus says it is written when the devil tries to frustrate you when the devil tries to confuse you when the devil tries to break you down you refer back to what the word of god says about you somebody say amen very quickly these three types of temptation in this season ahead number one the devil will attack your commitment the first thing he tempted jesus with is food when the devil knows that jesus was fasting don't let the enemy try to shake your commitment if you make your commitment before god to pray for a certain matter if you are making a commitment before god to see a miracle in certain areas in your life stick stand on your commitment don't back down amen number two the devil can quote scripture psalm 91 he quoted you know what's gonna happen in the days to come manipulation of scripture don't try to use scripture to certify what you think you need to do when god is not asking you to do it you need to be you're gonna we are gonna be made accountable the manipulation of scripture we need to be very discerning number three jesus knows the lord knows when he's victorious he knows the promise that the father has given him but the devil presented before the lord shortcuts you bother me you'll get exactly what you're looking for don't settle for shortcuts go through the process don't be tempted to get to your point b instantly you're not gonna get there you're gonna break down when you're there because in the midst of the testing he is purifying he is strengthening us so that we will decrease but he will increase somebody say amen and number three by his spirit we are brought to our battle by his spirit we are brought to our battle are we ready to fight how do we fight i found this gem in isaiah chapter 8 verse 11 to verse 19. can we open this scripture isaiah chapter 8 verse 11 to verse 19. i was very excited when i saw this i've never seen it before we read in verse 10 just now earlier people can take counsel together against you but it will become nothing when we know how to stand because we know god is with us but verse 11 for the lord spoke thus to me with his strong hand upon me and warned me not to walk in the way of this people who the lord spoke to me with his strong hand upon me it is the council of holy spirit that we need to really pay attention to verse 12 not to walk like how do not call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy and do not fear what they fear nor be in dread this word conspiracy is floating through the airwaves these days the church needs to go above not be dissuaded it says do not call conspiracy all this people calls conspiracy in other words don't certify the of hosts who dwells on mount zion can somebody say amen true prophets will rise in the midst of the chaos to bring stability to the house of god do not be fooled by the devil to reject and be skeptical of the prophetic it will not do you any good where's the proof we're gonna go back to isaiah 8 18 look at ezra chapter 6 verse 14. this is key this is crucial and the elders of the jews built and prospered you want to build but you want to make sure what you're building will prosper what you build will prosper through the prophesying of hagai the prophet and zechariah the son of edo they finished their building by decree of the god of israel that's number one do we celebrate when god raised up godly leaders yes by the decree of cyrus darius artaxerxes kings of persia but number one you succeed number one first and foremost by the decree of the god of israel that the decree of people can fail the decree of god will never fail that's why you need to believe the prophets and lady in indonesia non-christian she's a dukun she's a witch make a public statement in national television that an aircraft with the white blue and red on its on the painting on the body is going to fall right before the aircraft came we the church heard the voice of the prophets but the world the false prophets is also speaking up is mustering up news in indonesia because of what this lady says and the nation was shocked it happened you know what paint my heart why was it not a prophet of god who made that public statement this duel and this challenge is happening this is not the time for the church to falter and be skeptics in the house of our god verse 20. verse 20 the teaching and to the testimony exclamation mark the prophet kept on saying go back to the world go back to your foundation go back to what the word of god is teaching you to the teaching and to the testimony if they will not speak according to this word it is because they have no dawn people in these days in the days to come if they become skeptical if they become nasty and ugly and hopeless even though they are believers it's because they're unable to see it's because they're unable to perceive what god is about to do it is because they have no dawn it means they got no hope that a new day is about to rise that's why we need the prophetic because the prophetic brings the future to our now the prophetic is the eyes of the church to be able to see and to discern what god is about to do in the midst of the crisis i i feel like this verse is like the prophet was saying you need to go back to the teaching and the testimony if you don't speak according to this word if you don't agree with what this word is saying is because you are blind that's what the prophet is saying in the word i believe with all my heart that isaiah chapter 8 the scriptures that we just read 11 to 20 this is the condition of where we are in a nation right now but we need to return back to the word by his spirit he will teach us how to fight in the midst of the battle he gives us the discernment he gives us the counsel what to believe what not to believe whom to believe his spirit illuminates the word of god for us amen and number four by his spirit we will have favor in the midst of the struggle that we are going through the favor of god will be upon you and i the church if we are willing to yield to the spirit where's the scripture ezra chapter 7 verse 6 ezra chapter 7 verse 6. this ezra went up from babylonia he was a scribe skilled in the law of moses that the lord the god of israel had given and the king granted him all that he asked for for the hand of the lord his god was on him when the hand of god is upon you when it is not by your own might nor by your own power but if it's by the spirit of god the favor of god will be upon you in the midst of distress god is going to make exceptional miracles and you will be an exception because of the favor of god that is resting on you zechariah chapter 4 verse 8 to verse 10 i will finish by saying this this is a continuation okay zechariah chapter 4 verse 8 to verse 10. the scripture we're looking at today zechariah 4 verse 6 to verse 10 8-10 it says then the word of the lord came to me saying zechariah the hands of zaruba bell have laid the foundation of this house and his hands shall also complete it do you know since the foundation was late and until the completion there were major delays in the building but god in his faithfulness says the hands of zerubbabel that have laid the foundation his same hands will also complete it then you will know that the lord of hosts has sent me to you the prophetic church of god do not be dismayed god is not done working what god is going to complete will give the validation to the words of the prophets then you will know that the lord of hosts has sent me to you for whomever has despised the day of small things shall rejoice and shall see the plump line in the hand of zerubbabel i will stop there god gave a promise and we heard in the seven days of pray and fasting from zechariah chapter one you don't need to open it ben how god says in his word he will return to jerusalem with mercy remember that and he and it says my house shall be built in it declares the lord of hosts and the measuring line shall be stretched out over jerusalem thus says the lord my city shall again overflow with prosperity the lord will again comfort zion and again choose jerusalem his promises will stand what he says to jeruba bell will stand do not despise the small beginnings it might not look interesting on exciting now but stand on the word of god how long did it take for the temple to be completed the completion of the temple was halted for 20 years were there setbacks you can read in the book of ezra many setbacks many enemies came against the rebuilding of the temple right but an uncompromising and faithful apostolic church like zerubbabel who focus on building will be given the authority to execute the word of god revival that will come in the days to come will only be given to those who faithfully built the house of god how many of you wants to build the house of god whatever your role and your part is if you are faithful in building that revival belongs to you wherever you go you will carry the fire of god thank god the qualification is only one build when god is telling you to build pray when god is telling you to pray stay focused on the assignment and at hand somebody say amen not by mine nor by power but by my spirit says the lord number one his spirit will lead us to our assignment number two his spirit will lead us to the training that we need number three his spirit will lead us to the battle and he'll make sure we'll win number four through his spirit the favor will come the faithfulness of god that will empower us to say it has been jesus all along from through and all the glory the praise and the honor to him alone amen church be encouraged be strengthened like what was decreed by pastor stephen the game is not over what god is doing in your life what god is doing in the church what god is doing in the nation god is up to something awesome our part is to stay the course build the house of god and don't give up let's stand in the presence of god
