Building a SECRET gaming room in an Armored Truck!

this might be the best decision I've ever made or the worst we want to turn this truck into the ultimate superhero zombie fighting apocalyse ready mobile Workshop convention crawling armored truck anyone's ever seen this is Mike our shop manager we go way back we actually work together at the same job I had straight out of school and he's actually partially responsible for the channel and where it is today because he donated some pneumatic cylinders all those years ago which built my very first viral project which gave me the courage to quit my job and focus on You full time and ever since that happened I was waiting for the day that I could hire my friend and we can work together so he's here now and we're going to make this armored truck a thing of beauty what we have here is our 2015 Kino armored truck now we bought this truck about a gear ago the doors are super heavy everything's heavy just like look at the look at how thick this steel is it's got a straight six-cylinder diesel engine 7.7 L power six-speed automatic transmission the truck is equipped with heavy duty brakes heavy duty suspension uh and it has a cargo capacity basically Way Beyond what we would ever actually need to haul with does this make this the perfect shop truck for us probably not is it practical 100% not but is it hacksmith absolutely we got to clean it up this thing is dirty it is Rusty and it needs to go for B look at how clean this beauty is given the scale of this project considering it's actually the biggest thing we've ever worked on we've opted to actually split this project into two videos this video is going to focus on the interior and all the tech we're going to add to it and in the next video we're going to be focusing on the exterior making this the ultimate apocalypse vehicle now speaking of tech on the inside we managed to partner with Asus to bring this rust bucket into the future which means they've sent us tons of amazing Tech to really fill out this vehicle I'm actually using the Rog strix G18 with the Intel Core I9 to bring this design to life we need to be able to bring this truck to conventions tow the power loader or maybe even take our battlebot down of Vegas so for the internal design let's start with the cap we're putting in heated seats an insane sound system and external cameras all controlled by a custom overhead Dash console that features four built-in monitors and for the back of the truck this is where things get really exciting first upep we're going to need some Custom Cabinets To house all the electronics and the batteries one side of the truck is going to be dedicated to gaming featuring foldable desks equipped with ASUS 27in 4k tough gaming monitors powered by the formidable Rog stricks g16s boasting Intel Core I9 CPUs now as much as I'd love to just game we probably have to do some work so the other side of the truck is dedicated to our mobile Workshop we need a crane to actually be able to lift stuff in and out of the truck cuz the back of the truck is actually pretty high up and of course not just the chairs but everything needs to be RGB this is an Asus truck after [Applause] [Music] all everything needs to be RGB we're going to have a ton of Electronics in it we're going to have batteries and charge controllers generator switches and things like that so we need a spot to put all this stuff so we made up a pair of custom cabinets that we're going to weld into the back of the truck so we can keep all of our Electronics nice and organized keep it looking pretty before we shoot paint inside the truck here cuz we're going to give this a whole brand new paint up we need to prep the surface correctly so what we're going to do is we're going to hit the entire truck with 80 grit sandpaper and then hit it again with another 120 grit sandpaper and then wash the entire thing down with a bit of paint prep so we can put some gloss white you spent hours in here I came in here 2 minutes on the sander right I did everything right no problem that's how that works right course that's work as Hunter cleans up the sanding and everything in the back of the truck we're going to come take a look and see what Tyler's doing in the front looks like he's making some pretty good progress the same process up here as the back everything's getting sanded down through the grits and it's all going to get a gloss white paint job we have a little bit more fabrication to do in the front just to make some room for some of the TCH and some electronics and things like that right now I have loaded the very expensive stainless onto our laser cutter so this right here is actually our tabletop two holes for some wireless charging like yeah laser got only a little bit angry but I was able to change some of the parameters and make a cut and cut it did yeah that's going to be a big desk [Music] so this has been an absolute Mission and a half this is our smaller table this is going to be our workbench which is going to be on the right hand side of the armored truck and it is 16 gauge stainless and it is backed with a wooden core on the inside crazy hard times getting it to lay flat and nice everything here has to be perfect so you can see here it's quite flat and there's no gas but if we come over to attempt one which was fully welded and it warped quite bad as you can see got huge gaps and it's incredibly inconsistent everywhere right look at all that that is not possible for something that is completely cosmetic you don't learn by succeeding you learn by failing brought the truck out to our tent outside cuz we're going to be getting this thing ready for paint last minute wipe down make sure we got all the dust and everything handled and then we're going to start shooting our acid etge primer with that way when we put our gloss white on it'll [Music] stick trucks white the hardest part was originally on these doors these were textured very very heavily from the manufacturer so there was a ton of sanding but it was all worth it look at this finish it's beautiful and it's a very hard paint too so it should take a lot of scratching and a lot of impact and stuff so we still have that really awesome kind of utilitarianism of the truck you still use it for truck stuff but it has this beautiful high gloss white finish that'll stand the test of time these are the seats from our truck as you can see they leave a lot to be desired in both the fashion and comfort departments you want to hurt me go right ahead if it makes you feel any better how an easy target so what we ended up doing was we hit the junkyard and we found those as adequate Replacements to add a little bit of comfort and just a little bit of stuff these guys look awesome and I think they're going to fit really really well well with a few modifications we got some power adjustable stuff got some heated seats now all I have to do is just modify these tracks and then we'll be good to go we're removing a whole bunch of rust with the laser you don't have to go into the sand blast but this is a big thing it's hard to fit in sand blast because it's really heavy and there's a lot of rust on this this thing makes quick work of it which is fantastic because it's going to save us a ton of time in getting our parts prepped for [Music] paint all right seats are done I'm picturing down to Mexico to the pina coladas on a beach y you know cruising cruising past the waves mhm you know y can you picture it oh yeah all right let's get to the back of the truck so we're on the finishing stages of our build here we've got 48 hours to get it all wrapped up the crane is really simple It Bolts to the floor through four M16 bolts and it actually has a center pivot bearing allows it to Pivot and swing inside and out also it's equipped with a 1500 lb winch so it should be able to lift just about everything that we need the tables were all manufactured from 16th in stainless steel it all made in-house by our technician Tyler there're actually two layers of 3/4 in plywood in the middle of both of those benches the brackets are holding workbench brackets that you can get from your local hardware store so we modified them to attached to our wallmounted e tracks so they're modular we can take them in take them out so routered in the bottom of that plywood on our main table we have two wireless phone chargers one on either end we have power supplies for our laptops we have HDMI distribution we have USB power our armor truck it's wired it's ready for some tag so thanks to our friends at Asus we've got all this Rog stuff that we're going to be putting in there we have monitors and and and routers keyboards mice everything you could ever want in a mobile rig like this so I'm really excited to get get this in and uh maybe get to some gaming we put vinyl on the tables to protect them during the manufacturing process however that vinyl is really tough to take off so we figured n we'll let James do the honors on this one not quite as nice as peeling stuff off Aces products but you know now all that's left is a little bit of clean up on the tabletop to make sure those surfaces Shine the lighting we chose for this truck is actually industrial commercial lighting these are all RGB they're modular they're easy to change each Light Panel is attached to the roof of the the truck using magnets we can diagnose wiring very easily and we can easily change them out if they were to ever be damaged the toolbox we used for the truck we ordered from our local hardware store and of course it wouldn't be complete without all the best of the best offered from hacksmith do store our truck isn't complete without a brand new bamboo Labs X1 Carbon with built-in AMS which is also conveniently located in the toolbox as well and of course we also have our Electronics cabinets there is a ton of wiring in here we have nine batteries in this truck right now we've got our inversion system we've got all of our light controllers connecting you all right yeah there is a ton of wiring between these two cabinets it's been a battle to try to get all these cables hidden in the ceiling and hidden in the wall there's just so much that you don't see from the outside now our flooring we decided to go super super simple we went with just a 3mm rubber diamond plate mat that can just lay down super easy cut to shape and remove clean put it back down it'll just be an absolute Breeze to work with now we have two separate amplifiers a head unit we have six 6 and 1/2 in speakers and four 8 in subwoofers in this truck that has a ton of audio power believe me when we light this thing up it's going to be a dance party now that everything's wired up we have to actually test these monitors and see kind of how they perform got four yep we got both back TVs yay so what had happened during installation was one of our HDMI cables on one of our rear doors got damaged when somebody's trying to put this HDMI cable in they severely bent it and cocked it it doesn't work anymore to change out this entire cable undo all these undo this cable shoothing undo all of that all the light panels off they have to disassemble half of this cabinet in order to get that cable out it is going to be a nightmare it's a dayong process maybe even longer to get this cable out and get it changed so we can get up and running again now that our truck is fully completed and built we have to load up with all of our AC stuff so we've got chairs and mice and keyboards and mouse pad and all kinds of stuff going in this thing but it is going to be decked out it's going to be amazing well James it's finished you want to see the truck 6 months in the making yeah oh man there's been so much stuff going on over the past few months I'm excited you're excited I'm excited to show you man want to see it see [Music] okay and that's an armored truck this is freaking sweet what we got in here this this looks amazing we've got some of the best gear Asus can offer we have four ASUS 27in 4k tough gaming monitors two Rog Swift OLED TVs we have two Asus Rog stricks g16s boasting the Intel Core I9 CPU we have two Rog Chariot gaming chairs one500 lb Crane and one bamboo X1 Carbon this is going to be amazing to bring to conventions we have the ability to play games from here we can run solid works we can design stuff we can print stuff and we're safe cuz if I remember correctly this armored truck when it was manufactured is actually rated for two grenades so on top of all this great Tech and all these screens you got to have killer audio right y so we have 3,200 Watts worth 3200 watt oh yeah I'm going to queue up some royaltyfree music and we'll uh see what this is like queue it up [Music] it's only 50% keep going pretty solid that's pretty good oh that wasn't your max no not even close with all the doors open you'll be able to hear this across any convention hall you go to this is all custom right everything's custom and you matched all these angles it was a bit of a process we tried 3D scanning it that didn't really work cuz there's a lot of reflective surfaces so I actually went really old school with it and I made a cardboard template everything was hand cut to make sure that we got every angle correct everything fit correctly and then we lasered everything out of 1/8 plate just like everything else in this truck everything steals there's the armor level right there 762 high power rifle we got the backup cameras we'll be able to see the trailer nicely and the power loader full vision around the truck while we're driving so the left side right side so there are no blind spots we can see everything and we got one of the laptop displays here so the pastor you can see how the game's going in the back I think it turned out great seats y That's full power full power heated sway adjustable o yeah not bad eh not bad to across the country with what's this got different color oh yeah yep everything needs to be RGB we even got a police scanner so we want to start uh fighting crime I think it's time we take this for a spin and I'm going to try designing something back here and uh hey Tyler you want to test out the Asus laptops and play some games while we're moving I think I'm going to get like mad motion sick see how the guys in the back Fair up oh boy we're not we barely bra yourselves we're now cresting 10 oh my God oh my God it's like I really hope they're doing okay [Applause] this is not working nearly it's not as well as I thought it would hold on the nothing's falling yeah everything's staying in place except for my brain Donuts or what yeah oh I definitely feel motion SI oh my God little things in life oh I don't like this there goes oh yeah it's still going safety first I like we're not even going that quick I know what these guys are freaking out about I'm we didn't bring the other La we're back it up okay I got to take my breath is he just normally driving or is this just how bad it is God a lot screaming from back there sa the monitor should we check on those guys see how they're doing this oh how you guys doing guys we haven't even left the parking lot yet what really it felt like you're off-roading in the forest maybe a little are you alive oh my God oh my God no that was worse than an F16 oh my God how fast was it going 13 CL in hour I drew a circle in Sol works that's as far as I got I drew a circle this laptop went like this at one [Music] point let's say I was like knocked unconscious or something right oh God quity oh breing which works all right well maybe not so mobile Workshop like Park can use it but um you guys are going to want to make sure you subscribe because in part two of this video
