there is no distance in prayer this morning and we know their god that you are an omnipotent god we know that you can touch wherever the location is the question is ask god is there a bomb lord god we know god that you are a healer this morning wow god we know the god that you can heal and that you can deliver from whatever the sickness is so we present before you dear god missionary done by was young and now i'm old and i've never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread this morning dear god we cry to you this morning because you and your god are the source of our strength this morning as we are here today dear god want to present our bishop and pastor before you you want to ask the god that you breathe on the man of god one more time when asked god that you strengthen him one more time you want to ask your god that you inspire his heart one more time in the name of jesus christ of nazareth these are troublesome times dear god and their god it requires their god a special kind of leadership so i pray that god that you will inspire him continually i pray that god will take seat in his mind in the name of jesus i pray that god will continually give him a discerning heart in the name of jesus and i pray they're going to give him wisdom beyond his years we pray to god even for a continued word in this season in the name of jesus and i pray to god for a blessing upon him and his family and for all those who are serving in ministry with him i pray to god as you breathe and that you strengthen us in this time look at that your word and your work might go forth in the name of jesus christ of nazareth remember those who are weak this morning remember those there god whose strength are failing remember those who feel like they want to backslide this morning remember those who feel like they are forgotten this morning i pray that you will send a word this morning in the name of jesus christ of nazareth for the one this morning who feels that no bishop john um advised this week and as i sought the lord and this is on wednesday and i was not feeling a hundred percent i actually called into work to say i am not coming in and i was literally in bed all day not a hundred percent my boss said carter is that co-ville i said i'm sure it's not covered i'm positive i just felt tired a bit we re really really with some headaches and my tonsils just were not cooperating so i could hardly speak properly and i said to bishop and he messaged me sir i'm not a hundred percent but i'm going to prepare so i did not want to say no because the body was not cooperating so i said sir just pray with me and he said i will pray with you but i'm here this morning so i assumed and i know that bishop brown prayed so i'm here this morning and once i saw the lord the lord said to tell my people be not weary i am going to bless you and i said god but at a point when i am weary i was so weary and tired and it was on that day the lord said be not weary i am going to bless you and i said god i i am not sure this is the word because we have been going through a pandemic for over a year and we are tired we are weary we are at a point where we feel like we just cannot go on so why would you tell me in the middle of a crisis when we are already tired that we should not be tired i am going to bless you and i said god you are a weird god but you are an end-time god because you always have a end-time word and when we feel as though we are not able to continue to move forward the lord sends the right word at the right time for his people that you can be energized so i said the the the act of being tired or weary is that only a physical thing do i have control over whether or not i am tired or weary and the lord said i want you to change your perspective because often or not we think that the tiredness or the weariness that we feel as we trod this christian pathway is only physical but our perspective of the situation has a lot to do with it how we perceive whether the glasses have empty or half full gives us a different feel physically so we can get to move forward but those persons who are into fitness and into running and into those things you have this yesterday and you're into fitness you have days when you are at the gym and you have a certain number of reps that you need to do but midway you may feel physically tired but you say to yourself i only have three more to go i only have two more to go and once your perspective changes you realize that physically my body is able to cooperate with where my mind is and this morning god is asking his people you are in the midst of something that you are not sure how we are going to handle but change your perspective because god is about to bless you hallelujah and once you recognize that the blessing is in front of you you must change your perspective in order to finish this race i am not sure of many races or many events that if you do not complete it you get your points you get your prize you get your reward and similarly on this christian pathway if you do not complete this race there is no medal there is no blessing to be received so i want to encourage you this morning as you sit in your homes to ask the lord to help you not to be weary so you can finish this race this morning the story before us this morning is about jacob but before we get into where jacob is wrestling with the angel there is some background information that i want us to fully understand so we can have an appreciation as to why jacob was struggling or wrestling in this scenario jacob was the son of isaac and rebecca in fact he was a trainer um with with esau he was the last of the twin that was coming out so when they were born esau came out first and then jacob came out after literally grabbing onto the heel of his brother and as such his name he was called jacob and his name literally means he'll grabber or supplanter or will it circumvent or to go around the system to get what you want in our local colloquial terms we may say he's a con man and and more often than know in the present time a scammer wonders for because he's getting what he wants by not going through the the proper system or chain of command and that is who jacob was at this point in time when i said why would a parent or parent want to name their child or to attach such a meaning to their child's name and more often than not when we choose a child's name we ought to be careful because names have meanings and it carries a certain amount of influence over the child's life but nonetheless he was called jacob during rebecca's pregnancy it was more active than it it normally would have been because genesis chapter 25 said that rebecca saw the lord and she said lord something is happening because the pregnancy is a little bit more active than i think it ought to be and the lord answered rebecca and said that there are two nations in your womb two nations and one shall be strong about the older shall serve the younger and and the lord declared this from jacob was in the womb and i said but jacob's purpose was already already and from he was in the womb and jeremiah picked this up in jeremiah 1 and verse 5 and he said before i formed thee in the belly i knew them so some of us this morning i want to remind you that your purpose has been ordained from the foundation of this world god ordained you to be a prophet a teacher a doctor whatever it is that you are going to know god already ordained your purpose so jacob was ordained and his purpose was given from he was in the womb of his mother but it was so ironic that the lord said that the older would serve the younger because in that time it was the other way around the younger should serve the older the old one should take over just in case the father died but the lord has a good sense of humor because the practice of the land does not dictate the purpose that god has given unto you and sometimes we feel as though because i'm in a particular situation my purpose will change but god does not look on the land that you are in he does not look on the practice of your country or your mother or your family background the lord audience purpose irrespective of the practice hallelujah that is in your country in your family so i want to remind someone this morning that your purpose is ordained by god hallelujah and it doesn't matter what circumstance you are in it doesn't matter what's the practice it doesn't matter where you are the purpose of the lord stands above whatever is being practiced we are still in chapter 25 because they are now grown and esau was here with manly hannah mann and he was obviously the favorite of his father at this point isaac and and jacob was more of the tenth keeper he was more home so he was the favorite of his mother the bible said that esau went out one day in the fields and when he came home jacob was cooking a nice butter stew and he said to him give me of that stew give me some of that and jacob being the conniving man that he is said to him give me sell me a birthright and i'll give you some of this to you without even thinking esau said what value does this birthright have to me i'm about to die i am going to die so just give me the stew and i will be on my way jacob gave him a stew and esau had this too and agreed to sell the birthright and i said how short-sighted is esau not recognized recognizing the value that he has the value that was placed upon him the value of this birthright but he easily sold his birthright for something that would last for a few hours and so it is with so many of us we do not put value on what the lord has placed in our lives it is so easy for us to sell out the salvation it is so easy for us to sell out on the purpose it is so easy to sell out on the anointing not recognizing the value that the lord has placed on us and what is really the birthright i wanted to understand because when it is that the father has his sons the the first child willing the first son actually would normally get double the portion of the other children you will get double the portion so if the father splits up all the wealth and all the inheritance all the children will get their portion but the firstborn child would get double that of the amount so why would esau give up double portion of anointing double portion of the inheritance double portion just for a part of still peace i try to understand no wonder people say still is used to work and i think because this is the only explanation i have mentally why would you give up so much for a part of steel we're now in chapter 27 we where isaac is about to go and he said to his son i think that i am i'm going down and i want to bless you issa the mother rebecca overheard the father saying to his son that he wants to bless him and she said to jacob your father is going to bless your brother he has asked him to go to the field and to to kill and come out to make his favorite food that he can eat and pronounce a blessing upon him jacob said to his mother i cannot do that i can't trick him because poor adventure he finds out i'll get a curse instead of a blessing his mother said just follow me man don't worry yourself so they tricked his father into putting on here because esau was the much more hearier one than jacob and he went and he cooked the stew and he went into his father he gave his father this tube and he tricked his father into receiving the blessing that was meant for his brother esau so jacob was on a mission to get a blessing he was a longing for a blessing he wanted acceptance from his father he would have done anything at this point in time to get this blessing but was it worth it when jacob received the blessing or the blessing from his father he still felt empty and so many of us we chase so many things in this world we are running it down by any means necessary but you are still going to feel empty unless you receive the blessing that the lord has ordained for you you are still going to be empty hallelujah and in order for you to be full you must be aligned to the divine purpose of god in your life hallelujah so he got the blessing from his father and esau returned ready to cook the stew to give to his father and his father said but what hold on i gave the blessing away already and it was at this point esau recognized that jacob as his name is tricked his father and got the blessing and esau was mad and he threatened to kill his brother jacob again at this point his mother no played another role in the scenario and said i want to go down to your uncle labor and go down to heroin where they are i will tell your father you're going to look a wife and just like that they tricked his father again to give him a blessing to go down to his uncle and there is where he would have lived the mother said i want to stay down there and i will let you know when your brother is no longer angry at you so you can return home we're now in chapter thirds to thirteen i wanted to understand what is happening before we get to where jacob is wrestling so he's not with his uncle down in a place called panadaram or haron and he's with his uncle when jacob went he saw the daughters of his uncle and he loved one of the daughters who was rachel and he said to his uncle i want to marry your daughter and he said i want to work for me work for seven years and i will give you my daughter so jacob worked for the seven years the night of the wedding he got married slept with the woman when he wake up the next morning it was not rachel it was leah and he said but why have you done this you told me i should have worked for the seven years and i have gotten um rachel and he said well work seven more years and jacob having loved rachel he worked for under seven years so jacob had to work double the time for this blessing and ironically it was the same jacob who just stole the double portion from his brother now had to be in this place to work doubly time for what he really wanted but what stood out to me is that jacob is in a family of deceivers a family of liars a family with generational curses that has no trend down to jacob and it is it is something that we must know that there are generational curses that sometimes are are sent on to the bloodline that are sent on to the family and you are struggling with these things but we stand up this morning in authority and we said the blood of jesus is against every generational curse that is sent over you over your family over your children in the name of jesus we break them this morning in the name of jesus every spirit of lie and deception and worthlessness we come against them this morning in the name of jesus christ of nazareth so jacob prospered when he was with laban he prospered he prospered he prospered and lame on in turn prospered and jacob felt it was time to leave where he was because the lord had instructed him that he needed to go back home go back to his land and jacob said to laban i will take all respect animals but the lord will still bless me nonetheless he will still bless me and as jacob did that the lord continued to bless him the son of laban said to him what's happening you are being blessed too much you must have stolen some things from our father you need to move so there were no anger with jacob so jacob had to leave the word of the lord said in chapter 32 and verse 1 that when jacob went away from lebanon god's angel visited jacob and i said this is so this is so good just as when he left libon he left all the possession he left all the riches he left the crowd that was when jacob had his encounter and his experience with god that was when he had his first experience once he left laban and he left the inheritance and he left what he knew and he left the comfort zone that is when he experienced his encounter with the lord and so it is with many of us we have to leave what we know we have to leave the comfort zone we have to leave what we appreciate we have to leave the inheritance we have to leave many things in order to have the experience with the lord we have to leave jacob prospered where he was but he had to leave that and we struggle so many times when we have to leave many things and we have to leave the job that we love or we have to leave the area that we love but in order to get the experience with god we have to leave the area of comfort and what you are leaving is is is less than what the lord wants to bless you with because god has a blessing in store so do not be weary hallelujah so jacob wanted to make peace with esau but he was scared because this brother threatened to kill him i know this was over 20 years ago but he was still scared he was still fearful of his brother who was trying to kill him so jacob sent his serpent and he said to his serpent go to my brother let him know that i am not wealthy let him know what i have and hopeful he will accept me just as i am esau sent a message to jacob and he said i am coming with 400 men jacob not fully understanding what this is he was even more fearful so jacob starts to pray to god about it he starts to pray to the lord and he said lord i want you to protect me from my brother esau i want you to touch his heart give him a change of heart but god i am putting this situation into your hands i need your help the bible says that once jacob finished praying hallelujah once he was still praying he got up from where he was and jacob started to make a plan b just in case god spur just in case the prayer didn't work i'm making a plan b i'm going to send my brother some gifts so that can soften the heart of esau but i said but why did jacob pray in the first place and ask the lord for his help if he wanted to go and make a plan b and the lord said so it is with many of us we allow the fear to override our faith so just as though jacob prayed hallelujah earlier he got up off his knees and because the fear of esau was greater than his faith jacob started to make a plan b but when we pray we ought to believe when we pray we should leave it in the hands of god many of us we pray for situation but we get up and we want to fix it on our own we pray about it and we still want to try and help god but god doesn't need your help this morning because he's god alone he's all powerful he can do it all by himself this morning so jacob got up and he started to put together all these gifts to send to his brother esau even though he prayed about it but let me encourage your heart this morning when you pray leave it to god when you pray leave it in the hands of god because he is able to do it so jacob was trying to pay his way into the heart of his brother this morning the bible said that jacob put together so many things to send to his brother he put together 200 female goats 20 male goats 200 sheep 20 rams 30 female camels 40 calls 10 bulls 20 female donkey 10 male donkey jacob obviously was rich at this point because he put together a large amount of things to send to his brother esau in an effort to soften his heart genesis 30 and verse 20 says that jacob thought within himself that maybe i will appease my brother maybe if i send these gifts maybe if i send this valuable gift it will soften the heart of my brother but you just pray to the lord and ask the lord to fix it so why are you trying to fix it if you have already prayed to the lord about it leave it to god god can fix it for many years this morning you are struggling with sicknesses this morning you are struggling financially and you have prayed about it leave it in the hands of god he can fix it this morning hallelujah so my mind went straight to understand what was the value of this gift that jacob was trying to give to his brother this morning so my my financial man just kicked in right now because i want to understand what was the value of this gift so i i called some butchers i i visited the ministry's website i want to understand currently what would be the value of that gift right now that jacob was offering to his brother a female goal can be about 30 000 and he sent 200 of those that is six million dollars worth of gold jacob pick up and send to his brother he sent 200 sheep and one sheep knows about 160 000 that is 32 million dollars worth of sheath jacob pick up to send to his brother esau he sent 20 rams and a ram gold was about 70 thousand dollars so that is about 1.4 million dollars the most expensive part don't come yet he sent 30 camel when i looked up there the cost of a camel those nice ones are right when i go over into those deserts it's about five thousand euros for the cheapest camel in jamaican dollars 30 of those was 22 million dollars worth of camel that jacob picked up to send to his brother when i did all the math and the accounts and the money part of it jacob's bill was about 69.8 million dollars worth of goods he picked up to send to his brother and i wanted to understand that to put it in my mind because jacob had the know-how and the resources he thought that he could handle it on his own and so it is with many of us bishop because we already have the experience we have the knowledge we have the willpower we maybe have the money we think that we do not depend on god but your money cannot fix it your knowledge cannot fix it your resources cannot fix it leave it in the hands of god this morning because that is the only way it can be remedied what are you praying for what have you prayed for this morning leave it in the hands of the lord because you need a blessing directly from god so chapter 32 and verse 24 jacob said all right i'm going to split my family in two just in case esau comes with the men to kill half of the family at least half will not be saved so he split the family into him and he started to send them away it was at this point in time when he sent his family away the bible said that jacob was left alone and i mentioned in verse 1 earlier when he left laban the angel visited him and knowing verse 24 when he sent his family away and he was left alone this was when the lord visited jacob there were sometimes in your life that you must be left alone to have the experience with god god don't want to quote sometimes he doesn't want the excitement sometimes he just wants to be alone with you this morning so the bible said that the man wrestled with jacob it was not other way around the man wrestled with jacob jacob prayed to the lord and said lord i need your help and just as the lord heard the lord showed up and i want to tell you this morning that when you pray the lord says to tell you i have heard your prayer and i'm going to show up just as how i showed up for jacob i am going to show up for you just as though i heard the power of jacob i have heard your power and i'm going to soar the bible said that when the angel of the lord showed up he started to wrestle with jacob and sometimes god sew up forth why could the angels show up and bless him and move on but he came and he wrestled with jacob the angel wrestled with jacob god wrestled with jacob he had a struggle with jacob and some struggles that we faced some fight that we fierce they are not sent by the devil and sometimes we blame the devil every single time we are in a struggle but in this scenario the lord showed up and he struggled with jacob some struggles that you are going through this morning god has ordained the struggle he has identified and you must go through the struggle the struggle that you are facing it can be god invoked until the lessons are learned this morning the bible said while they struggled jacob held on while they fought jacob held on somebody now is struggling and they are wrestling but i want to encourage this morning to hold on you are struggling this morning but i want you to hold on just as though jacob was struggling with the angel and resting the angel jacob was holding on but be not weary because the lord is going to bless you it was so ironic to me that as jacob was holding on he as he was struggling as he was through another thing the angel still touched the sky of jacob and the lord said to me just as so many of us we are holding on you know we are holding on but we are still dependent on our own strength we are holding on but we are still dependent on our own resources that is why the lord had to touch the heap of jacob this morning the bible said the angel taught jacob's hip socket and it was now out of place and i did some some biology so i went to do some research and the joint is the top of the the femur bone which is the only bone in the thigh it's the longest and biggest bone in the body it's one of the strongest bone in the body that can support up to six thousand pounds of compressed weed that's the strongest born or one of the strongest bones in the body it was this born that the lord had to see for it was this moon that the lord had to break it was this born that the lord had to get out of the wheel because jacob was so dependent on his own strength he was so dependent on his own ability but holding on to god we are still depending on our strength and the lord wants to break our dependency in order to be blessed god has to break your dependency in order to be blessed you have to break your will and break your strength and break whatever you are holding on to this morning but jacob said i will not let thee go until you bless me even though i'm weary even though i'm tired lord i will not let you go until you bless me jacob must have been weary because he he wrestled all night he wrestled for the entire night but he said i will not let you go on till you bless me how determined are you this morning while you're going through your struggles while you're going to the pain while you're going to the hardship you are saying god i will not let you go until you bless me god i'm going to hold on until you bless me i want to encourage our hearts this morning to hold on to god because he's going to bless you hallelujah verse 27 said the angel asked what is your name and i said this can't make any sense you come to my house you know where i live or you don't know my name but but this is strange you will sew up to my residence and you asked me what is my name and i said what god knows everything why would god ask jacob what is his name if he already knows the name of jacob but what god wanted to do is for jacob to acknowledge who he was so when the blessing comes he can appreciate when jacob called his name my name is jacob remember the meaning of jacob's name is supplant hill grabber a con man a liar jacob had to come face to face with who he really was so the lord could bless him and so it is with many of us the lord wants us to face our weaknesses to face our challenges to face who we really are so when the blessing comes we can appreciate god for who is really for who he really is the angel said to jacob your name is no longer jacob but it will be called israel because you have contend with god god gave jacob a name change jacob was in a long search to a blessing and the blessing that he really and truly wanted it was no here jacob had to struggle but he now received the blessing that the lord sent out for him he finally got a legitimate blessing jacob finally got something that's because of the khan god hold up or the khan anybody out of he got a legitimate blessing a life of struggle a life of tiredness but he was no blessed god is saying this one he wants you to accept your change in identity what we have become isn't what god wants for us what we have become in our lives in our families in our careers is not what god wants for us as such he wants to give you a change of course a change of direction and a change of name this morning god wants to bless you in a way that it will blow your mind he wants to bless you in a way that you can't understand jacob had so many things but he was still in search of a blessing a bigger blessing a blessing of peace a blessing of comfort and a blessing in knowing that his purpose is aligned with god i want to encourage your heart this morning that you should not be weary let not your heart be troubled let not your heart be weary because god is going to bless you whatever your struggles are this morning whatever the hell challenges are this morning the lord wants to bless you and he wants to bless you real good press down shake it together and running over god wants to bless you but i want to encourage your heart this morning that whatever it is i want you to hold on the struggle may be a lot the struggle may be pressuring but i want you to hold on this morning just as how jacob held on even when his style was broken i want to encourage you comes while me whatever you have to do i want you to hold on this morning because your season is about to change god is about to give you a right about change in the name of jesus hallelujah god is about to bless you and he wants to bless you real good i want to encourage your heart i want to encourage your heart this morning that in this season god is going to bless you god bless you in jesus name hallelujah thank you jesus hallelujah praise the lord jesus hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah the lord sent a word this morning praise god the word the lord sent a word to his house and to his people this morning praise god my heart is blessed praise god i'm happy i had the opportunity to be in the house this morning to hear this good word praise the lord jesus god wants to bless you praise god god wants to bless you and there's a blessing that god has in store for you praise god hallelujah we want to praise god even pray for the man of god this morning praise god hallelujah we want to stretch our hands towards him this morning that praise god god will minister unto him continually and their god do their god in his life what needs to be done hallelujah this morning praise god if you praise god have listened praise god to this broadcast praise god right where you are in your living room in your bedroom wherever you are today praise god we want to encourage you praise the lord to make an altar praise god hallelujah i wanted to encourage this morning to make an altar because praise god as the are struggling with i don't know what you're trying to get off your back i don't know what you're trying to change but you can't do it on your own praise the lord jesus you need god to help you this you open your mind and we say lord jesus i pray god that you will come into my heart i think god you will renew my spirit dear god i really want to serve you but i am struggling with the things of my past lord i want to be in a relationship with you but god i'm having a difficulty right where you are in your home this morning we just want to reach out in agreement with you this morning at the will not their god just the way that we desire to be blessed but there by the blessing that you have placed on us from the foundation of this world we pray god that your purpose will be fulfilled in the
