please follow in the order on the program thanks please shall we praise the lord i can say i don't know why or how but god knows everything best but barashah indeed he was more than our brother so barashah and i got very close since 2012 after the passing of my father that year he and my father franklin vixx watkins were very good friends then and from the time he discovered that it's like there was a further instant connection we shared a very close bond many would thought that you know i was actually a part of the family he was like a father to me we shared many things in common he was my counselor so almost anything i can call him he's always the first person i'd call to get any counsel on any matter he's my motivator when you look on how he lived or we operate he encourages you he trans he set that directional path for you to follow he was never one who is lazy all always working you know that that was the type of person he was a role model and a genuine friend there was never a dull moment with him there was nothing too hard for him to do for me or for me to do for him i can remember when he was building his house internal almost every evening after work i will be there with him we talked and encouraged each other he was one who loves the lord as he constantly shared his testimony and his passion for service sometimes it i would talk and he said but are we going to fire me i come from you know and share all of his experiences even with ian's sister jenny he shares all of the things with man i said you know i wouldn't say that i would attack we would be here for hours talking and sometimes auntie you know we got along you had a passion as i said to see sinners surrender is um their lives to god so from the moment he got saved there was like a fire in him to see people get sick and he would be telling everybody said money and i swear yeah i told god man why are we at panman he was a dedicated evangelism leader despite the challenges at times he would say brother is god i'm doing this for you know i'm not watching anybody one week does not end and we did not communicate if a week passed you would come and i said well you know you're fireman and it's same thing you know i always you know remain in in communication with him any new development in the family or he plans to do anything new he would tell me about it that is it so he was very committed and determined for those of you who know him he was this type of person wants him makeup in mind to do certain things as i always say come hello hi what i'm going to do it anything he starts he's going to complete it that is the type of person he was he was dependable that is it so i can recall returning from overseas couple years ago i asked him to pick to pick me up because i said he was like my daddy right so my flight landed about 1 30 am in kingston and without a situation he was willing at the time of his initial illness he was never afraid to share his experiences i constantly encouraged him in the latter part of his illness while encouraging him he would say um where are we you're sure yeshua mega rise again he said yes and i kept on encouraging him when i visited him if one of the nurses ever object to me coming in to talk with him he would be very upset i remember one time when dear man and another nurse didn't want to let me in and he decided that he's not going to talk to anybody because i need to be inside there with him so there are many other experiences i could share but time will not allow nevertheless he has left an indelible mark on my life and will surely surely surely be missed has fought a good fight finish his course and kept the faith may his soul rest in peace god bless you thank you very much brother wayne for those who are coming next to give the tribute we ask you to make it pretty pointed two to three minutes um coming to share so is susan ebert and company here okay members of the burid family loved ones well wishers on behalf of the tenants who operate at sns plaza we extend sincere condolences and we urge you to be strong during this year time of bereavement my initial interaction with mr shaw dates back to the days when he operated palliative and i would travel to kingston back and forth occasionally on the bus and then later um whilst at brownstone primary school i would see him coming in the evenings to editor drop off miss johnson and then later to and you know i was i would be on the outside on many occasions and would chit chat and have good conversations later on we got a little closer when i decided that i was going to start a store up there i remember driving up to turner one evening and you know i went over by the house spoke to miss jenny and him and without hesitance he you know alluded to me starting the store there and then the rest is history i remember mr shaw if there's nothing that i remember about him i remember these three words i am glad that i am a changed man and i i can stand here and tell you that he's a hard-working man and everything but the most important thing today is the fact that he is indeed a changed man and the change that i speak about this morning is a godly change and that godly change would have been manifested in his overall conduct in his overall demeanor and the way he served god today on behalf of all lieutenants bin suzy miss monica gerain and the entire family we stand in solidarity as we salute the legacy as we salute the magnificent contribution that mr shah would have made both directly and indirectly to human development after all our ultimate purpose on earth is to serve others mr shah you would have done well you fought the good fight of faith and it is unfortunate that you would have passed but today we can say that truly the earth has lost a soul but heaven has garnered an angel thank you good morning family members well-wishers and friends i too would like to express um sincere condolences to the bereaved the bereaved family on behalf of their loyalty to christ cell and my own family job 14 122 tells us that man is born of a woman is of a few days and full of trouble he comments forth like a flower and is cut down he flees also as a shadow as a shadow and continuous knot i met brother shaw some 20 odd years ago when i came to the district of orangeville to live initially i wouldn't see much of him but when he became a christian and a part of the church and a part of the cell group you know that's when the relationship developed brother shaw was a very kind-hearted person and many persons can attest to his generosity he was also a very hard-working man he didn't believe in idleness he would share his experiences of the times when he was a truck driver and the many difficult situations that he met and yet still he would arise from all of that sometimes he would say to me sister rima a farmer i come from you know and shake his head you know he was he was an overcomer and you know sometimes he would say to me boy you know god really had a plan for me you know because he did not let me die in my sin you know sometimes he shared with me that many times he came to church and he came to the altar and he said sister rima you see after church don begun straight backwards in a scene but this time when he came you know when he came it that was the time when brother shaw became a christian and so a member of the church and the cell group he was very active very rarely would be absent from church or any other services and he lived and believed hebrews 10 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as is the manner of some but exhorting one another and so much the more as you see the day approaching in sunday morning services he would be seeing during worship service clapping his hands and lifting his hands in worship and he wouldn't be seated he would be on his feet sunday night sunday night services testimony time he would be giving his testimony and i remember the day the sunday he was baptized sunday night he was in church giving his testimony when many of us sat on our testimonies crippled in fear the first time he had the opportunity he shared his testimony at bible study and prayer meeting he was there praying and answering quests answering questions when the time arises as a member of the cell group he would be present at cell meetings and answering questions and sharing his testimony he shared in the activity of repairing the meal at sunday and he would share with me that he would be outside running the call pot with the rice and peas while auntie jenny would be inside doing the chicken when it was time to clean church he was always here and he did not choose what to do anything that was here to be done he would do it on the friday nights when we have oatmear meetings or when we have classes crusade he would be there and the first up to share his testimony would be brother shaw and as a matter of fact he would always be there because he was the one who carried the instrument and if he if the if he wasn't available to go the van would be available in the community when there is a funeral he would always be there giving his tribute and he did this in the form of a song i remember when my father died in 2019 and brother shaw was so healed and he later shared with me that on that day he wasn't feeling well and you know and i wondered to myself why why why did he come but that's the kind of person he was he came he came to give me support you know brother shaw was not a front row uh forester but manny loved to sing at cell meeting he would be just singing the court you would think that he had a list singing from and when he's passing my house i don't have to look out to see who is that i know when brother shaw is coming because he is singing he's always singing he was an active evangelism leader for the orange in the class and did so up until the time of his illness he was also an active member of the brotherhood the last time i visited with him in tears in his eyes he said to me sister ima sister rima serve god serve god don't give up on god and serve him wholeheartedly serve him wholeheartedly and i did not know that that was the last time i was going to see him i remember he said to me one time that a prophecy was made over his life that he was going to preach and you know i questioned god i said but how you you made that that prophecy was made and we didn't see it materialized and you know the the word came in my spirit it and says to me he did not get a congregation to preach to he did not preach to a congregation but every day he preached to someone because he shared the love of christ to someone he shared the love of christ to someone on every occasion that he got and i was recently told that he was in the process of preparing his messages you know revelation 14 13 says blessed are the dead who die in the lord from now on yes saves the spirit they will rest from their labor and their deeds will follow them and i know brother shaw is resting and all the good deeds that he has done is following him may soul continue to rest in peace thank you very much for those who have shared this sister jackie here as yet not yet are we continuing with the the tribute miss camille shaw daughter brownstone primary school just come here yeah hello um i'm just here to speak briefly about daddy um as far as i can remember i always admired my dad as a little shy country girl at first it was fair because i always thought of daddy as a no-nonsense kind of guy but the older i got it turned into admiration i love telling people about my dad he set the bar high when it comes to men if you're not a go-getter and provider like my dad i'm not interested coveted even though it was a curse to matty it was somewhat of a blessing to me after daddy got sick i used it to my advantage because i got onto i got to get onto cheap flights and visit him frequently even though he would tell me just wait till the right time my last visit is run out better to the end up on board in my flight it weighed heavy on me that i need to take a picture with daddy this time but the little scary girl in me wouldn't allow me to i almost walked out without doing so but something just kept tugging heavily on my heart so in a little intimidated voice i said daddy can i get a picture with you of course at first he said no he said i'm not in the condition to take a picture right now i said i know but i just want it for my memory i promise i won't post it then the nurse gave me a little help she said come on daddy shaw just give her one for the memory he agreed i ran so fast back into the the room and the nurse took the picture for me i then leaned over and kissed him on his cheek and i told him i always said i soon come back i never tell him bye all i can remember is the smile he gave me it was so bright even though heartbroken i'm happy god gave me two years to love him a little bit more hug him a little bit more and tell him i love him a little bit more even though we're all heartbroken and sad and i'm relieved that he's no longer in pain auntie jenny thank you for always being acceptant of me you karen and adrian always made me feel welcome and at home i pray god just give us all the strength to deal with this good morning everyone on behalf of the brownstone primary school let me take this opportunity to stand here and express our condolences as a family to mrs shawnico on the passing of her loved one not just she but to the entire family and to let you know that your inner purse and as a family we will stick together with your family during your time i hear the sounds of a mighty rushing wind [Music] and it's closer now [Music] than it's ever been [Music] i can almost hear the trumpets and gabriels on the call [Music] cause at the midnights cry we'll be going home yes i hear the sound of a mighty rushing wind and it's closer now than it's ever been [Music] i can almost hear the trumpet [Music] as gabriel sounds a call at the midnight's cry [Music] yes we'll be going home [Music] when jesus steps out on the clouds who call his [Music] i look around me i see prophecies fulfilling [Music] they're appearing everywhere i can almost hear the father as he says son go get my children [Music] cause at the midnight's cry my the pride of christ will rise is when jesus steps on a cloud to call his children [Music] the dead in christ meet him in the air and then those that remain they shall be quickly changed at the midnight's when jesus comes again yes when jesus steps out on a cloud to call his children [Music] the dead in christ shall rise to meet him in the air and then those that remain they shall be quickly changed at the midnight's cry [Music] when jesus comes again [Music] so hold on my child joy comes in the morning [Music] hold on my child joy comes in the morning [Music] is [Music] [Music] for those who know christ joy will come in the morning my brothers and sisters and friends just permit me to say there is a few things about mother shah because i had the privilege to be brother shaw's teacher in new believers class and um brother shah was never ever late one morning and if you expect someone to participate in the lesson you'd have to ask about a short you never miss a moment to say something about god and that's how he is or he was you know before brother shaw became a christian i remember when i had my accident and i had to go to the university hospital and um i didn't really know about the shot as such but you know because brother charles would leave out very early to go to kingston and i had to go to the university hospital brother shaw said you know you may not be able to to come out on time to catch me to kingston so guess what come to my house and overnight and both him and sister jenny accommodate me for that night and he took me to kingston and sure that i got through and took me back home brother sure was generous part excellence a brother who loves the lord and i know that he's rejoicing in heaven this moment thank you studiaki not here yet we're going to remain seated for the offertory him and um we sing and when you we arrive at the third verse i'm going to ask you to stand as we complete the song so as i travel through the pilgrim land there is a friend who walks with me leads me safely through the sinking sand in israel christ jesus christ cavalry shall be remains un-american [Music] and there is a friend who walked with me leads me safely through the sinking sun it is [Music] foreign [Music] jesus hold my hand yes i need thee every lord through this land this pilgrimage people breathing jesus [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] stand [Music] my [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] look down on me [Music] let us all stand when i wander through the valley [Music] oh [Music] oh oh blessed jesus saving [Music] look down on me [Music] hallelujah blessed jesus hold my hand let us pray lord we thank you we praise you that all good and perfect gift comes from you you have blessed us with the elf and the strength to work and to bring back a part of that which you have blessed us with we pray god that you use both gift and giver for the extension of your kingdom here on earth in jesus name we pray amen praise the lord praise the lord you see brother i was a man who loved to praise the lord you know and he was a man who loved to to cry too you know he was a crying man too um our remembrance now would comes from mrs antoinette brooke's sister followed by the eulogy by mr simone shaw daughter-in-law in that harder place thank you brother patrick family members friends all this is indeed a sad occasion as we come together to lay my brother to rest i stand today representing my brother and sister but not only and myself but not only them but the aunties uncles cousins nieces all of the friends who would not have been able to make it from the usa canada uk and jamaica my brother was more than a family friend my brother was a confidant you heard all the adjective adjectives used to describe him my brother was a man of god i tell you lenworth's weakness shaw affectionately called fear was affectionately called major by his sister mary he wasn't only a sister to nary but a friend a confidant a bosom could i say almost a father figure when daddy went a rock to my brother john he called him palatable and i tell you he was a brother a friend a bridgerina somebody who he could talk with they have their differences because we don't always agree but that's okay that's what life is all about we talk and we get over it to me he was my brother and nobody understands but long time i stopped calling him henley now lords those names i would call him my brother because for me being a brother is something that goes deep deep spiritually deep physically and for me he was that brother he was hard-working jovial determined and an astute man he was the first to have left home for boarding when he attended the montego bay technical as siblings we were excited even on sunday evenings when daddy and mama would pull us along and would check to go look for him we were excited and even more proud when he successfully completed his training graduating with accolades as a mechanic my brother evidently knew what he wanted and having had some exploits found himself back home to operate as a public passenger vehicle driver from brownstone to kingston and you heard the stories later he moved from that he went into trucking and let me tell you you're hearing tell them about his experience he did have some experience but thank god he pulled him through after all of that my brother left and went into construction apparently fulfilling all his dreams of all his pursuits we consider his accepting jesus christ as the savior to be the most profound as he delved into his relationship with christ as he would have any other situation with all of his heart well wishes i believe life is better when you are happy but at its best when others are happy because of you he made many persons happy he was faithful in touching the hearts of his fellow men he was an inspiration he did not live for himself but for others he put epitomizing that said by anonymous nothing in nature lives for itself rivers do not drink their own water trees do not eat their own fruits the sun does not shine for itself and flowers do not spread their fragrance for themselves living for others is a rule of nature we were all born to help each other no matter how difficult the situation you find yourself in my brother as second timothy 4 verse 7 says for the good fight finished his course he has kept the faith now there is in store for him the crown of righteousness with the lord the righteous judge will award him on that day and not only him but all those who have longed for christ's appearance to jenny and all the children grandchildren trust god he has so far stayed with you through every storm in your lives he has given you all that you need he has always and will continue to protect each and every one of you your families and your loved ones things might be difficult right now but trust in god's timing trust god trust god brothers and sisters my brother has left an indelible footprint in the sons of time may his soul rest in peace and god's light perpetually shine upon him amen amen praise god before you come my friend for the eulogy at this time we'll take the selection from sister jackie please you come next after shall we praise the lord everyone praise the lord it is indeed a pleasure of mine today to be here to celebrate the life of a friend and a brother praise the lord amen bless the lord and so i will just be doing one of his favorites right out the storm you've been in this storm it seems like forever and your night of confusion has been oh so long your sheep has lost anchor [Music] and the storms have you drifted but the night's almost over [Music] so write out your storm write out your storm [Music] god's right there with you you may not feel him but you're not alone [Music] you're hurting now but the morning is coming [Music] just hold on to jesus and write out your storm remember his promise i'll never forsake you though the waters are raging they'll do you no harm [Music] don't give up the battle [Music] for your answer is coming just hold on to jesus [Music] and write out your storm [Music] write out your stones [Laughter] god's right there with you you may not feel him [Music] but you're not alone you're hurting now but the morning is coming just hold on to jesus and write out the stones write out your stone god's right there with you you may not feel him [Music] but you're not alone and you're hurting now hallelujah but your mourning is coming oh just hold on to hold on hold on and write out your storm just hold on to jesus and write out your song because he's right there with you just write out the storm write out your storms hallelujah ride out your storm for jesus is with you now we have the eulogy by mr simone shaw god bless you good afternoon everyone i want to thank you all for coming today to honor a stalwart of the orange hill and brownstone community i know many of you traveled far and wide to celebrate the life of lenworth wickliffe shaw and i know he would have loved seeing you all together lenworth shaw was fondly known as henlin by many of his family members but to his colleagues friends and customers he was major and palatable mr shaw wore many hats he was a husband father grandfather brother uncle friend i am simone shaw his daughter-in-law today i have the privilege of sharing about his the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind lenworth wycliffe shaw was born to parents john and marlin shaw now deceased on august 26 1955. he transitioned from this earth on june 13 2021 he was the third of five children his younger brother kenneth predeceased him he is survived by his wife elaine shaw to whom he was married for 39 years by his six children alicia karine adrian shelian camille marco and trevoy as well as his 14 grandchildren he is also survived by sisters carlene shaw and antoinette brooks and brother dal keith john shaw lenworth first attended bossmart school at turner road in orange hill after that he attended the lower boxter knowledge he completed his studies at the montego bay technical school where he received certification as a mechanical engineer his brother john has very fond memories of their childhood these are some of john's cherished memories our parents made sure we went to church every sunday we always looked out for each other and took care of each other john recalls the many mornings when they had to get up at 4 am to go to the farm there they would melt the cows cut the grass for the rabbits and then deliver the milk in the community after this they would return home and there complete their morning duties and then walk to school john fondly recalls i remember when we were growing up my brother's toes were a little bent so whenever he gets a new pair of shoes i would wear it first and stretch it out for him so that it wouldn't hurt his feet the two proved an inseparable pair as you would not see henley without john as the two grew older they took different parts but life's journey always brought them back together lenworth was a real family man his love for family knew no bones and family for him was not only inclusive of his blood relatives but all who came within his circle he loved with all his heart and all who came to know him had to love him in return if you had the pleasure of meeting him then you must remember that absolutely enthralling smile that captivated you immediately it was disarming and it made you want to spend time talking to him that smile could light up a dark sky it was effortless on his part to share that warmth that radiated from his smile lenworth a mechanical engineer by training worked with eastern airlines at the donald over a 15-year period he owned many other buses one of which was named palliative he later branched off into trucking and then construction and real estate in life he was determined and driven always purposeful with his actions he understood that time was not a currency to be saved and that he had to act on achieving his goals he was not deterred by the naysayers nor was he discouraged by hearing no he was always sure he would find a way it is an example that many hope to emulate but will fall short of because of the energy that must be invested for one to walk such a path he was never the person to take his achievements for granted and he would hold you accountable if you chose to do so he was never careless with his words when he spoke he meant what he said he stayed committed to it if i'm being transparent he could be stubborn and sometimes it worked well and other times it did not but he stood by his decisions it was always a hard task to get him to change his mind you had to come prepared with answers and deep explanations for him to consider for many years mrs mertel straw now deceased witnessed to him but it took his grandson's baptism to convince him that he should surrender his life to the lord he was baptized on january 30 2011 and has never lost his passion to serve christ in his christian sojourn lenworth for a period served as the evangelism leader for the orange hill community and evangelized through his preaching his walk with christ brought him much joy and he seized every opportunity presented to him to share that joy with others lenworth was quite the conversationalist his work with christ was but one of the many issues on which he shared if you ever had an opportunity to reason with him then you would know the depths of his thoughts on a myriad of issues he often shared his thoughts on issues surrounding life such as unanswered questions the folly of youth and the cost of those mistakes he spoke about memories that have been made and bonds that were tested but not broken he expressed his gratitude for his children and their choices in 2019 he discovered he was ill and the journey began with his many visits to the doctor and a stint at the mandeville hospital he had many ups and downs but remained positive in his thoughts and actions throughout his life he employed the practice of self-reflection meditation and conversations with god he acknowledged his yesterday was grateful to his today and always decided on a plan for his tomorrow lynworth shaw lived a life worth remembering which cannot be erased by death the truth of his humanity was that he was here he was loved he gave love he achieved he made mistakes he cried and he laughed he lived life we honor the time we had with him and recognize his influence has deep roots that will provide fruit long after this season may his soul rest in peace and light perpetual shine upon him thank you very much at this time we have a family selection family song members are ready bye oh if you ever feeling down like you have nowhere to go if you're feeling like an outcast as your problems overflow just remember there is someone and all it takes is for you to know is that god is the answer and a god answers prayer he receives every weakness every trial [Music] and he sees every teardrop and he wipes that [Music] help me please [Applause] [Music] you may be broken and feel better but your strengths will surely come in the midst of all heartache battles are already already one just remember [Music] in the hard times don't give up don't say you're done because god is the answer [Music] every mountain and he sees every tear drops and he wipes them for me i get down on my knees and i said savior help me please because one thing is for certain every trial every mountain and he sees every teardrop and he wipes them for me on my knees and say savior help me please because one thing is for certain [Music] because one thing is [Music] [Music] there's one thing for certain god answers prayer and if you are here today and you are not a christian god can answer the cry of your heart in repentance and in faith in him and that's what brother shaw would have wanted all of his family members those who are not christian to be assured that god still answer prayer amen our second lesson comes to us from revelation chapter 21 1 through to 7 which will be read by jayden and ariana martin are they here jaden and ariana all right all right and i saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away and there was no more sea and i saw john the and i john saw the holy city new jerusalem coming down from god out of heaven prepared as a bride adorned for her husband and i heard a great voice out of heaven saying behold the tabernacle of god is with men and he will dwell with them and they shall be his people and god himself shall be with them and be their god and god shall be wiped away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more death neither sorrow nor crying neither shall there be any more pain for the former things are passed away and he sat upon the throne said behold i make old things new and he said unto me right for these words are truthful and faithful and he said unto me it is done i am alpha and omega the beginning and the end i will give on to him that is arthas of the fountain of the water of life freely he that overcometh shall inherit all things and i will be his god and he shall be my son thank you very much jaden and ariana as we prepare our hearts to hear what god has to say to us through his manservant brother everett allen we turn again to our program as we stand to our feet and we sing shall we gather at the river where a bright angel's feet have trod whether it's crystal idle tied forever flowing by the throne of god let us all stand [Music] please [Music] is [Music] [Music] yes [Music] let go [Music] and and provide a role and [Music] together [Music] oh [Music] will see [Music] oh [Music] you may be seated please praise the name of the lord i want to endorse the welcome which was given to you all and had it not been as we all know for this co-vid protocol this chapter i have no doubt would have been filled to overflowing of this horror i am very thankful that those who are outside understand why we are in this position you know my brothers and sisters when i was in theological college i remember one of our baptist tutors an englishman saying to us gentlemen be unshockable and i thought i had reached a place of being unshockable i tell you when sister elaine called me on that unforgettable sunday night to say that brother shaw i departed i was shocked i was shocked because it was not long before that that we were talking on the telephone at his initiative that at last he was able to get up and to move and was seated comfortably and i was rejoicing in my heart praise god god answered prayer so when i heard that he died i was really amazed in fact i tell you the honest truth that since coming to know him it is very hard for me to really accept that he is no longer with us brother shaw was a loving person and a well-loved person the testimony of his life not just verbally but by his activities would leave us in no doubt that this is a brother who admit with the lord we really thank god for that and he didn't have any time to look back praise his holy name the name of the lord i don't know if or when we are going to find somebody to take the place of brother shaw that's one of the arguments i put to the lord who will succeed brother shaw the ministries which he rendered on his whole life and testimony for christ up to this day one of the churches in this circuit oh his brother show some money for work which he did on their behalf and when i told him about it that that was to come to him he was not in any interest not having any desire of receiving that he had done a service for the sake of the kingdom i tell you without any fear of contradiction that everybody in this church will miss him i miss brother shaw but for years to come i will remember that he has just gone on before for a little while we remain physically alive and unto you i bring this message let us pray bless now your word unto our hearts o lord and glorify your name amen this message is based on ephesians chapter 2 and verse 18. i read verses 17 and 18 that christ came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near and now verse 18 for through him we both have access in one spirit to the father and this message is put in one word accent or access i'm sorry access this verse gives us a glorious and a wonderful fact every christian of every race jew or gentile spoken of here every christian has the unspeakable privilege of access to the holy presence of the eternal god admission to the presence of our heavenly father it is a fact here and now it will be unimaginably greater in the hereafter for it is when death strikes us with terrible finality and sometimes with terrifying or seemingly tragic consequences and feelings that the fact of this access comes home to us with reassuring and delight praise the name of the lord praise the name of the lord amen if there are some here who are not able to praise the name of the lord well i expect every believer in christ to do that amen access access when you look on this verse of scripture you notice that access to god is a marvelous fact a marvelous fact we both jews gentiles have access to the father admission into the father's presence audience with him why do i call it a marvelous fact because of the seeming impossibility of it the seeming impossibility of it astonishing extravagantly impossible improbable unbelievable impossible some say impossible because to them nobody on earth today can go to heaven for heaven is too holy ah yes very often such statements and beliefs are but excuses for complacency and iniquity there are those who feel that all they can do is to live under the kingdom of god on earth and it does seem impossible brothers and sisters when you stop to really think about it it seems impossible on two grounds one because of the nature of god because god is a holy god is a pure eyes than to behold iniquity and he cannot look upon wrong god cannot tolerate wrong he's perfect in holiness and majesty the seraphim in heaven where the holy ones unceasingly celebrate his holiness in the book of revelation we read that when god held out a scroll in his hand there was none in heaven or on earth who was worthy to even look into the scroll which was in his we read also that the kings the great men of the earth the generals the rich the strong everyone was crying onto the rocks fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits upon the throne heaven and earth we are told in revelation flee away from his presence he will go to the old testament and we read about god's throne in daniel chapter seven ah yes from his throne throne fiery flames shut out the wheels of his throne were burning fire stream of fire came forth from before him when we read in hebrews in the new testament we read that god is a consuming fire oh yes no sin can dwell in god's presence amen in galatians chapter 5 and verse 21 you remember the apostle paul warned the galatians he said i warned you before and i warn you again that those who behave in the ways he described called the works of the flesh they shall not inherit the kingdom of god and in revelation 21 and verse 27 we read nothing unclean shall enter into the holy city nothing unclean nor anyone who practices abomination and falsehood when you consider the nature of god as thus described from holy scripture it really does seem impossible that mortal man can get into his presence and not only because of the father's nature but also because of our human nature for we are sinners at heart sinners in thought in word and indeed sinners by nature and by behavior a devastating description is made of us in this letter of paul to the ephesians that we are dead in trespasses and sins yes we are dead in trespasses and sins because we walk according to the passions of our sinful nature so by nature we were the children of wrath how could such of people like us have access to such a father sinners having accents accent access to such a father yes oh how shall i says a song whose native sphere is dark whose mind is dim before the ineffable appear and on my naked spirit bear the uncreated being how could this be possible because brothers and sisters though there is a seeming impossibility there is also the sure reality a sure reality so that for example not only in this text but also further in ephesians chapter 3 and verses 12 and 13 we read in whom we have boldness and confidence of abscess through our faith in him so i ask you not to lose heart over what i am suffering we have boldness and confidence of access and we read in romans chapter 5 verses 1 to 2. therefore since we are justified by faith we have peace with god through our lord jesus christ through him we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand and we rejoice in our hope of sharing the glory of god amen oh it is wonderful said the son writer wonderful and marvelous what jesus has done for the soul of mind the half has never been told unspeakably wonderful unspeakably marvelous indeed excellent and wonderful beyond all reasonable expectation but god's word declares it and christian experience confirms it we have access to the living god and those who are experiencing this fact now when we go to god in prayer we are conscious of meeting with him those who are like that will enjoy that access and that presence for ever and ever and ever much more marvelous and wonderful than anything that we could ever experience in this life and thanks be unto god this is a great hope that we can entertain a strong hope that i personally as brother shaw's pastor who had the wonderful privilege of baptizing him in the very pool under which i now stand that he has gone now to enter fully into the glories of that accent praise the name of the lord access first of all a marvelous fact not only that access because it is a mirror and it is a miraculous fact a miraculous fact here's the verse again hear the verse again chapter 2 and verse 18. through him have access in one spirit to the father a marvelous fat admission into the father's presence and audience with him praise his holy name it is a miraculous fact i say why because of the miracle of divine mercy the miracle of divine mercy for reading verse 4 of the chapter but god who is rich in mercy out of the great love with which he loved us has acted on our behalf he loved us greatly even when we were dead in sin and in his infinite mercy he sent his son to be our savior so on the solid and unshakable fact of the mercy of god we stand in time and for eternity with that assurance of access into his presence the miracle of divine mercy and also the miracle of divine activity you notice what i just read said that we have access through jesus christ amen through jesus christ through the lord jesus christ we are blessed with this miraculous fact of access into god's presence ah yes in and through the lord jesus christ it is the greatest conceivable and the greatest possible transaction on the exchange but when you read second corinthians chapter 5 and verse 21 this is what we read for our sake and when you really understand this you know you you're understanding something really fantastic for our sake god the father made jesus christ his son to be sin for us he who knew no sin so that in him we might be made the righteousness of god can you imagine that the holy god praise the lord because of his mercy made his own son to be sin for us to stand before him in the place where our sins would take us and he made him to be sin for us so that we might be made the righteousness of god we know that in the chorus which says i gave him my old spotted garment and he gave me a robe of pure white oh praise the name of the lord by jesus there is the way of approach ah yes and access into glory because jesus said i am the door by me if any man enters he will find blessing and posture and riches the lord jesus christ opened up the way to the father through his death he took our sin upon himself he paid the penalty for our sins he provided forgiveness he provided the means of of keeping clean and fit for heaven praise the name of the lord and our savior jesus was absolutely qualified for this ministry because of who he was he was man a human being like us perfect sinless and he lived a life on earth which was fully pleasing to his father and he did it on our behalf but he was not only a man a perfect man but he was also god god the son god the son and so he could adequately and eternally satisfy the demands of divine justice so jesus is the only go between god on the one hand and sinful people like you and me on the other hand the new testament calls him the mediator between god and man he's a reconciler and you can imagine it imagine it now that god is separated from us because he's holy we are separated from him because we are sinful and no jesus comes and stands in the midst because he is god he can hold on to the hand of god because his man he can hold on to sinful humanity and bring the two together and reconciliation is affected praise the name of the lord he joins the hands of the father to our sinful people and we come the redeemed we become the redeemed people of god those who deny that jesus is god the son and our only mediator are able to do that because they are dead to the awful holiness of god and the severity of his wrath against sin it is when we are ignorant of these things that we fool around when we become conscious of the awful rough and the severity of god against sin we will fly to jesus to find reconciliation and what jesus did for us through his death on the cross is not done in and through the holy spirit in us or the holy spirit of god and that is why our text says we have access in one spirit so god father son and holy spirit are at work in our salvation the spirit of god convicts us of sin the spirit of god reveals jesus to us as the only savior the spirit of god leads us to accept him and he makes what jesus did for us become real in us amen he gives us power of access while jesus gives us the privilege of access hallelujah so access through the miracles of divine mercy and activity it is present here and now as a blessing to those who accept the lord jesus christ as their lord and their savior and their deliverer and we have fellowship with the father here and now through the holy spirit praise the name of the lord that is what brother shaw started to enjoy that is why as he we have heard brother show the song to sing because when there is joy in the heart it is going to come out through the mouth and those who cannot sing on in tune we'll sing afternoon but we are going to sing if there is joy filling the heart there is going to be joy on the outside amen thanks be unto god for our brother converted brother a beautiful person a faithful person a peaceful person it is rare when i saw brother shaw that there was not a bright smile on his face oh thank god for the marvelous fact for the miraculous fact and last of all for the momentous fat momentous fact that is to say a fact of great importance a fact of great importance ephesians 1 verse 18 again then through him that is through jesus we both have access in one spirit to the father a momentous fact a fact of great importance for all the saints of god amen access to the father here and now is a sure guarantee of access hereafter and forever into the eternal presence of god after our reconciliation with the father access to him is a continuing relationship amen more and more deeper and deeper closer and closer until we can't stay in this world any longer we both have access jews and gentiles so then so long as i have come into peace with god through our lord jesus christ this miraculous fact this marvelous fact is a fact in my experience and in yours praise the name of the lord amen amen and brother shaw has now entered into the eternal existence smiling laughing rejoicing in the presence of the savior who died for him is now admitted into heaven itself through our lord jesus christ for him death is not a journey into an unknown land amen it is a voyage home hello it is a voyage home so and sister elaine for yourself and all your children family members tell never ever say we lost brother shaw you don't last you haven't lost something or someone when you know where that something is and when you're nowhere that someone is when you don't know where this something is that it is lost lust to you when you don't know where that person is the person is lost to you when a christian dies we have not lost that person because we know where he has gone absent from the body and present with the lord forever and ever and ever brother shaw has not gone to a strange country or to a foreign country as a second-class citizen i remember you know the first time i traveled to the united states of america and i went on a on a ticket that was given to me at that time i couldn't afford that and since that time most of the times i've been to america it is free to me so anybody would like to see me come to america you know what to do just send a ticket come anyway i remember when we landed in miami airport that night one of our pastors while we were going on a pastoral um seminar for a week leadership training seminar and one of our brethren said as we walk from the later exit from the airplane and to come to customs and as we reach our distance we heard u.s citizens to the right and all others to the left and i remember what my brother pastor said and now we are going to be second-class citizens thanks be unto god all those who leave this world in christ jesus are marching into heaven as first-class citizens amen amen might not have been recognized on earth might not have been treated with any seriousness but the lord knows those who are his amen he has gone to heaven that better country gone to his father's house and among his kid and kin he has entered heaven because heaven entered into him right here nobody can enter into heaven not death if heaven has not entered into you before death amen so what a glorious hope what a glorious happening what a great happiness oh but there is a more significant challenge can you hear me christian brothers and sisters are we really experiencing this access into the father's presence we love it are we longing for more are we laying aside of us every sin and the weight which clings so closely to us so that our access to the father's presence here on earth can remain open and available christian brothers and sisters at the death of every child of god we should pause ask ourselves that question and make sure that our answer is yes a bold and confident yes so although the master our master has gone to prepare a place for us we must prepare ourselves for that place amen so it is a fellowship of operation he has gone to prepare this place for us and we must prepare ourselves to get there praise the name of the lord it is i say it is i say a momentous fact a fact of great importance this access to the father not only for the saints of god but for all who are not yet saints of god who are sinners and some unsafe people don't like to hear that but you know whether we like to hear it or not makes no difference if we are not children of god we are sinners we are born in sin shaped iniquity and we are sinners by birth and by nature oh yes if you decide against the access into god's presence no it will be nigh it will be denied you eternally for god has the last say i repeat it if in the here and now you decide against access into the father's presence because you prefer the life of sin then you must know that access will be denied you eternally you know some of us might be aware of what is happening in america right now with many many people especially in republican states who will have nothing to do with the vaccine against the virus and especially young people and i heard a doctor saying on television last night or yesterday afternoon a young man imprisoned in the hospital with the virus and the dreadful version of it strain which we now have the delta strain and he's saying to the doctor can you now help me to get the vaccine and the doctor said to him i regret it is too late too late gone too far and no vaccine can help him anymore if you don't have any accents to the access to the father to where will you be admitted where to where will you go after your death for your death will come the tomb is not a blind alley it is a thorough fear to eternity the prospect of living forever should bring little comfort to anybody unless we are fit to live forever yes unless you are ready to die and go into god's presence you should be living in fear and trembling every day because if you die you're going straight to hell the new testament affirms it and i affirm it without apology that is what the bible says if you live without jesus christ your destination is the fire of hell yes no amount of willful forgetfulness will make any difference no refusal to think about it will drive the fact away you cannot change it you can try to blot it out of your mind but it won't work only jesus can help us and you need him now the longer you stay in sin the harder it is to leave it and to come to jesus amen you know i have a book i have a book he told me about a man very influential he had i think he had a knighthood he had from the queen he had no time for god when he was at the point of death people noticed that he was tearing steering before him steering the man who don't believe in any god you know i had nothing to do with god knighthood and all that steering before him into space and then they heard him cry my god and died there he was steering like that in absolute terror because he saw into eternity and knew that he was not prepared for eternity but thanks be unto god access into the father's presence in the here and now and hereafter is a possibility made available to you to me to everybody here but god will not force anybody he gives you a free will you must exercise it to accept him as your savior and your lord praise the name of the lord amen praise the lord god is a good god every time access what a privilege because of the finished work of jesus christ on the cross you and i can have access to the very throne of god it is access because it's a marvelous fact hallelujah because miraculous marvelous fact because of the nature of god and also the nature of man god is holy whose eyes are too pure to be all sin or to look upon wrong and yet we are sinful but the miraculous fact hallelujah jesus has done it we have no access to jesus christ we should have been punished sent away to hell but thank god jesus stood in our place and said father remember the decision that he makes come and enjoy the joy of the lord what is momentous is not something passed on god it's a reality it is it it is a relationship we have with jesus and guess what sinner you can make it into you know yeah you can make it in because if you are willing to accept jesus is faithful and just to forgive you and to cleanse you from all unregistered jesus man hallelujah we thank god for his manservant for his word to us access considered man why you may not be able to go to certain places and you notice that sometimes you go to a place and you say mark on a vehicle vip parking that means that as soon as the security guard see the character he said go ahead man because you are vip with god all of us are vip for those who accept him you know all of us and first class it is no second class with god tremendous word from god thank you my brother for having inform us of this great access into god amen praise god praise the name of jesus hallelujah praise the name as we bring this thanksgiving service to a close we again stunt our feet someday the silver card will break and guess what i'm sure brother shah listen to them bridging sometimes we come to finance service is the best place to make decisions if i remind us that we we're not going to be here forever you know to make a decision to serve our god someday the silver cord will break and i know more as now shall sing but all the joy when i shall awake within the presence of the king let us all stand [Music] and i know more as nothing but all the joy when i shall wake within the and i shall see him face to face [Music] said [Music] within [Music] until the storm is [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] and tell the stories [Music] and i call me [Music] [Music] is [Music] [Music] peace [Applause] until the story [Music] be changed [Music] until the story saved you may be seated please [Music] let us pray eternal god with whom do live the spirits of them that depart hence in the lord we praise your holy name for all your servants who have finished their course and kept the faith especially now do we thank you for her dear brother linworth here departed as we benediction now to him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you without blemish the presence of his glory with rejoicing to the only god or savior through jesus christ our lord big glory and majesty dominion and authority before all time and now and forevermore for the grace of our lord and savior jesus christ the love of god and the fellowship of the holy spirit be with us all now and always amen praise the name of the lord kindly remain standing until the casket is born or not followed by family members [Music] you
