god almighty let us pray father we would first adore thy blessed and ever to be beloved name all the earth doth worship thee the father everlasting heaven is full of thy glory the faithful chosen called and separated join in the everlasting song thy redeemed praise thee o god we bless thy name for setting apart this hallowed season and thank you father for making us good stewards of your manifold grace which is universal in its obligation manifold in its manifestation and god honoring in its intention blessed holy father it is written blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven whose sin is covered blessed is the man unto whom the lord imputed not iniquity and in his spirit there is no guile we therefore earnestly crave your forgiveness of all our sins and kindly make us vessels of honor in your household this day and always oh savior we render to you our sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving without a lawyer they come from those that love us and as we praise any little things that come from those we love so do we feel that thou will accept the thanksgiving the reverential homage of thy people redeemed ones who are a people near unto thee whose names are graven on the palms of thy hands hallelujah for the love of thy name we would live and die if we think we love thee more than we do we pray that we may love thee more than we think oh take these hearts right away and unite them with thine own and be thou heart and soul and life and everything to us for whom we have in heaven but thee and there is none upon earth we desire but you holy spirit third person of the holy trinity we worship and praise you as we do the father and the son we acknowledge you to be our sacred oil our purifying water our heavenly dew our comforter and much much more holy spirit dwell with us rule over us transform us to their own likeness then shall we be clean father god the corona virus has taken more than its full toll both on our island and your church and most horrifyingly the murder rate has increased lord god almighty we stand in the gap on behalf of all these negative experiences forgive us blessed father in the name of jesus and let godliness spread like wild fire in our country please enable a return to all hearted comprehensive spiritual activities in your church indeed blessed father manifest your face to those who are called by your name in jamaica and as we confess our sins and repent thereof in godly sorrow and ask your forgiveness lord you would open the floodgates of heaven and revive your church oh god beginning if it please you with the brownstown baptist church thank you father god that as your revival makes its impact upon our nation you will redeem jamaica forever and ever and ever o glory to god thank you father for brother victor stewart availing himself to declare your word thank you for the praise team [Music] always ready to honor you unashamedly with the songs of victory may your hand rest upon them all and in a special way brother victor as he preaches the anointed word of god and may it rebound to your muchless glory for our beloved pastor and the many saints who are sick some with the corona virus and other causes we speak complete healing to their bodies in jesus's name yes lord jesus strengthen the hearts of those who grieve yes lord in a special way our sister barbara johnson who will be very much here right now but because her husband has departed this life and lord god may they all know your special joy in the morning thank you for hearing our feeble yet sincere prayer oh father in jesus we will hear the scripture lesson for today after this we will have our third hymn but just before the scripture and it's read from the revised revive the revised scripture version amen the rsv the rsv hallelujah the revised standard version you see when you go to this state to come back inner speed hallelujah matthew 28 1-20 matthew 28 1-20 now after the sabbath toward the dawn of the first day of the week mary magdalene and the other mary went to see the sepulcher and behold there was a great earthquake for an angel of the lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat upon it his appearance was like lightning and his rayment white as snow and for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men but the angel said to the women do not be afraid for i know that you seek jesus who was crucified he is not here for he has risen as he said come see the place where he lay then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead and behold he is going before you to galilee there you will see him lo i have told you so they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy and run to tell his disciples and behold jesus met them and said hail and they came up and took hold of his feet and worshipped him then said jesus to them do not be afraid go and tell my brethren to go to galilee and there they will see me while they were going behold some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had taken place and when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel they gave a sum of money to their soldiers and said tell the people his disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep and if this comes to the governor's ears we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble so they took the money and did as they were directed and this story has been spread among the jews to this day now the 11 disciples went to galilee to the mountain to which jesus had directed them and when they saw him they worshipped him but some doubted and jesus came and said to them all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me go therefore and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit teaching them to observe all that i have commanded you and lo i am with you always to the very end or close of the age this is the word of god hallelujah may god add his tremendous blessings there to hallelujah and now we will have our third hymn and after this hymn our brother victor stewart will bring the message god has laid on his heart the eternal god our father for a day like today to his blessed loving son our lord jesus christ who gave himself for us and for the blessed holy spirit who anoints and enables so that we worship as we ought in spirit and in truth good morning my brothers and sisters i want to thank god today for this wonderful privilege of being his speaker in this ministry today and i thank god for what he has done because i'm not the best and i have nothing to give of myself but i asked and he had given me a word which i will share with us today praise him i want to greet all our worshipers wherever you are now may you all be richly blessed as we live stream from this place the brownstone baptist church in saint and jamaica on the third sunday of september a day like today we have our missionary emphasis and at the church we recognize jesus christ as lord of the church amen and are very conscious of the mandate that he has issued to his church as is comprised in the words of what is known or well known as the great commission amen i invite you to pray with me our father and our god we thank you that once again you have decided to speak to us as your people we bless you for the occasion and us that as you speak you grant us a grace to hear and as we hear give us more grace to obey and to do the perfect will of god we follow the example of your son jesus christ he heard you speak he consented and he came to earth and died on our behalf so that today we have church bless your word unto our hearts we pray and glorify your great name in his name we pray amen pray the lord praise the lord hello me please hallelujah they say no good vehicle can drive without gas and we are the vehicle of the lord he lives inside of us we carry him around with us and as we speak for him we get up hallelujah praise the lord so my brother and sisters what we read in our lesson this morning uh that very particular portion referred to as the great commission and i invite you then to turn with me to our text for today which is saint matthew chapter 28 verses 18 to 20. and these verses state then jesus came to them and said all authority in heaven and on earth had been given to me therefore go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit and teaching them to obey everything i have commanded you and surely i am with you always to the very close or end of the age now that was taken from the new international version of the bible the one i have from which i shall be preaching is not very far in its meaning of the words from the one that was read at the lesson so i trust that every soul here today and those of you listening over on live stream will be blessed amen pray the lord based on this text the title that i believe the lord has laid on my heart under which to bring this message is missionaries for jesus missionaries for jesus the church is on a mission for jesus and this command given by jesus must continue to be the priority of his church and should be accepted by every member every believer who constitutes this body of christ his church and there are no exceptions our lesson for today which was taken from matthew 1 to 17 opens with mary magdalene and the other mary as the bible describes her going to the tomb where jesus was laid now immediately you recognize that the the crucifixion of our blessed lord jesus has already taken place and we have now come to what we all know as resurrection day amen the bible says there was a violent earthquake and an angel or for an angel of the lord came down from heaven went to the tomb rolled back the stone and sat on it amen now i want us to know that this angel is not the one responsible for the resurrection of jesus he just went and rolled away the stone the stone didn't have to be rolled away for jesus to come out and he was not in there for as i will read later on you will see amen so he said come and look and they saw from the empty tomb jesus was not in there praise the lord jesus was already risen and as the angel said to the woman i know that you are looking for jesus who was crucified he's not here [Music] he's nothing there he had risen just as he had said so you come and see the place where he lay and no doubt they looked and behold it was empty hallelujah so then he said well okay now go quickly and tell his disciples he has ridden from the dead and has gone ahead of you into galilee amen and there you are to go you will see him amen right there in galilee no i have told you so their mission was to come and to tell those two sisters who had loved jesus so much that they were the first to be at the tomb that morning and they were told that jesus you look for whom you love so much has risen from the dead and he's actually gone to galilee so tell his disciples to go and meet him down there and then he said no i have told you in other words in jamaican language make sure for me tell you that's where you will go and see him no i have told you so my brothers and sisters here we are verse 16 the 11 disciples went to galilee and there they actually saw jesus now we started out with the two women but as you know women talk a lot and the other disciples would have been there waiting so obviously they went and told them and the 11th for judas wasn't there anymore he was he excommunicated himself crucified himself for what he had done to our lord committed suicide hallelujah and the 11 went to galilee now here it is if you look at your bibles verse 16 when they went they saw jesus what they did they fell down and worshipped him and listen to this but some doubted but some doubted we are not told who among the level the eleven apparently did not believe that it was jesus or that he had arisen from the dead but it is clear from what was said some doubted so the majority believed and they fell down and worshipped jesus as they saw him no this was when jesus issued to them the great commission and it was clear that especially for those who are bowed down to him in worship and had held onto his feet that they loved him and so this last command of jesus was said to them as he gave them what we know as a great commission amen the great commission and this last command that jesus gave to those who had formed the core of his church is the first priority of the church [Music] the main thing he said to them and jesus chose and used these ordinary men to be his witnesses ordinary people and i say that because there were ordinary people in the church like you and me and yet jesus entrusted to them this tremendous commission amen now what was it let me get back to the word jesus said therefore know this all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me therefore go let me go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit and more than that teaching them to observe all that i have commanded you and lo i am with you always to the end of the age amen know that word to the disciples then the same word to us in the know and as i said at the opening every september the third sunday the third sunday we give emphasis to the mission of the church and every single member of the church the church of jesus christ not really only the brownstone baptist church or the tabernacle church or some other named church the church of jesus christ have this mandate to make disciples amen hallelujah no i i repeated that because it is important that every member of the body of christ gets that message and that it is riveted because over the years we no doubt have been saying the same thing but what have we noted is the whole church involved in evangelism is the whole church involved in making disciples of say jamaica and jesus had said the whole world my brothers and sisters that is something for us to ponder and to deal with however this was a tall order we as members of the church of jesus christ can't say that we're not qualified that we can read that we can write that i don't have any money to travel and i'm being down to earth because these 11 disciples though the bible said some doted were not men who went to university they were mere fishermen and there was nowhere in the scriptures that we ever read that their business was so good that they became millionaires but the lord decides to use them therefore we as members of this church or the church of jesus christ worldwide qualify as his witnesses okay now as i was saying this is a tall order by total order it means that not not not not everybody considered this something easy to do and jesus knew that it would not be something easy so what he said in acts chapter 1 and verse 8 jesus adds as he told the disciples you will receive power when the holy spirit comes upon you and that's how through the power within you that i give you you'll be my witnesses in jerusalem in judea in samaria and to the ends of the earth and i believe that every time these words are quoted there is somebody who will say well that really mean me i don't even know where jerusalem is i don't know where to find samaria the ends of the earth i don't have an airplane or a helicopter jesus expects me to get there he said you shall receive power when the holy spirit comes upon you and you will be my witnesses and he didn't say you may be my witnesses or that after that would you like to be my witnesses you recall my brothers and sisters philip was taken from a hot crusade up in jerusalem and sent down to gaza that roared lonely road apparently it was where he went and saw the ethiopian eunuch trying to understand what he was reading in the bible and the holy spirit said go join yourself with him no doubt he was coming from the revival that had taken place in jerusalem and without any introduction philippe do you know what you're reading and he said but how can i understand it i don't have anybody to explain to me that's what philip wanted to hear and he said in my own words go to nakamura and he went up and sat beside him and showed him from the scriptures who it was that was being spoken of the christ the son of god hallelujah so it is seen that one of the values of the baptism in the holy spirit is a reception or the receiving of power power power to weakness because i do believe and so i thought myself years ago that the baptism of the holy spirit will give me power to speak in tongues will give me power to pray for a brother who is sick and he will be healed to pray and miracles will take place on the laying on of my hands jesus didn't mean it like that he said i want you to talk for me to witness for me to tell people about me hallelujah so the power to witness for jesus so that the lust may hear and be converted praise the lord it had nothing to do with any sort of prestigious feeling or to make you say you're better than others i can't speak in tongues and if you follow me go to the hospital i can lay my hand on the sick people with their loan in who i see there when they get up a workout that would be elevating yourself and building pride as if you are somebody special and the lord in christ can use anybody he referred to service in the church to build up the body of christ to build up the body of christ and sometimes you you if you were to sit down and ponder it you i just said no let me see how many persons since i've been in this local this church have a really witness to that they have come to know christ and savior and come to join the church you know many years i've been a christian you should have full no you should be full already and what about the number of us who are members here we open our mouths and each of us speak to one or two persons for christ and we need to expand the church the idea is that the lust may be converted acts chapter 2 records the evidence of the coming of the holy spirit of god on the day of pentecost amen and verse 41 of the chapter 2 of acts states that 3 000 souls were added to the church that same day of the coming of the holy spirit upon the disciples symbolizing the beginning of god's harvest of souls in the world with the help of the holy spirit in believers so it is not a fable it's not something that was made up yes i know we didn't read it anywhere else but what have we done in our time you're going to you can prove that it is not so have you been so involved and you say that i have tried being filled with the holy spirit god being my helper and not in my benchful something to think about my brothers and sisters because it is jesus who gave these marching orders and where are we in our obedience to the voice of god the help of the holy spirit in the life of the believer can cause the believer to do mighty things for god in our time as christians we must not allow the great commission to be the great omission that we're not we know we know business with what jesus doesn't want to say and we do nothing about it we omit to work [Music] yes thank god for our brother and sister in this church who pray and ask the lord to do our work in saving sinners and reclaiming backsliders but that's the word from your mouth to eternal god where is the word from my mouth and from your mouth to an unsaved a backslider a sinner to say jesus loves you if you continue in this way on this road you go to hell turn receive him as your savior he is the lord [Music] and you will have a place in heaven and begin with a place in his church and here it is when they come they start their own process hallelujah our default or our lack of action is referred to as the great omission and many of us have in fact received the baptism of the holy spirit there are brethren in this church who i believe are genuinely filled with the power of the living god within them and through prayer and the new methods of contact or communication we need to be greater involved in this whole matter of soul winning later on i'll have one or two things to say concerning covet because some people say well can i do nothing you can go up to nobody and talk we're not having church services where we can invite the unsaved to come in in their numbers and we preach to them and let them hear and they come and we lead them to christ excuses excuses for when we had the opportunity what did we do what did we do and those people are still out there and let me say this that i am here bringing this word as the lord that laid it on my heart i'm talking to myself myself from our text today matthew 28 verses 8 into 20. i would like us to know three things three things they may sound funny to you but three important things first of all to be a missionary for jesus we must wholeheartedly believe jesus's statement of claim and what did jesus say he opened his mouth and said all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me are we understanding that i used to be somewhere where i recognize the authority and jesus is saying all authority that means none is above him except his father the eternal god so what is then the meaning of authority or the oxford dictionary states that it is the power to give orders and enforce obedience that is authority you look at a policeman on the road and he says to you don't park that car there move it up to that area you do it you got an order and you complied and you think of examples like that where an order is to give given to you and because the person who spoke is someone of authority you complain so when jesus who says all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me go make disciples we think well i don't think he's really talking me what we need to have a strong conviction by the holy spirit to cause us to hear the voice of god in our own ears and know that yes i am talking to you victor i'm talking to you johnson i am talking to you mary jesus had authority to enforce obedience and so he had authority over archangels you heard what he said in all of heaven angels michael the the the great angel of god who was used so much in holy scriptures noted gabriel and others of the angelic beings in heaven jesus has authority over them and it says in heaven and on the earth so jesus was able to speak the word and it brought fulfillment even over a tree on earth he said to the victory you don't have anything today all right nobody bear no more and the next day the disciples are passing and they see the tree i didn't say it quit overnight i'd say dry up i've done it done finished dead what if the lord were to cause that to happen to us many of us would have put in vertical drop out long time including me drop out you don't have any use where are the fruits you're not bearing drop hold he has authority over satan the devil and all the demons of hell for when he speaks the tremor and jesus had an authority to say to the demons who had attacked a little boy when he had come back from of the mountain to say come out of him and then gone come out of him and in those pigs whom he had seen on the hillside one thousand of them and they begged him don't send us into a base and in my own words he said go into the swine and it's not that it took a week for the thoughts of them to go into the swine you know immediate immediately and they could not stand the devil inside of them nor would the lord allow the devil to remain in them alive on land that bent over cliff into the sea and they all drowned and were dead and i don't believe and appreciate them jesus has authority over mankind regardless of your standing your color your creed or your wrist why because jesus christ is lord hallelujah he is lord secondly from the text to be a missionary for jesus we must obey jesus's commission or command to go and make disciples of all nations now i recognize that i may have said this already but this is for emphasis because he went on to say and he didn't ask you if you were a minister or if you were a deacon or you think you have that sort of authority go and baptize them in in the name of the father and of the son of the holy spirit teach them to observe all that i have commanded you and nobody prayed for it lord i am with you always to the end of the age this command must be outworked by us as a church being united in our involvement amen our efforts in prayer in electronic contacts as individual members in the various ways we can deal with reaching people and telling them this good news hallelujah you know when i was preparing one of the things that flashed my mind is that jesus had left the tomb i went to galilee and left instructions for it must have been that he said to the angels i'm going down to galilee when these women come tell them to get the other examples don't come and meet me down there so they came and they saw him so in verse 20 to be a witness we must embrace the assurance that jesus gives amen what is this assurance jesus said and surely i am with you always to the very end of the age hello my brother and sisters it struck me too because he promised the holy spirit that he will empower and enable us but then he's telling him straight i will be with you jesus will be with us in person the person of the holy spirit so it's not just a feel-good feeling or the ability to speak in tongues it's for you to know that the lord jesus is inside of you that he is outside of you that is before you that is behind you that is beside you that is enabling you that he is with you hallelujah john 14 verse 16 he said i will ask the father and he will give you another counselor to be with you forever the spirit of truth i will not leave you as orphans but i will come to you because i live you too shall live hallelujah this the these assurances from the mouth of jesus himself should lift us to a new plane and enable us in faith because we are acting in obedience to be able to do any and everything in the name of the lord jesus for his glory and honor and for the building of his church amen let me say something very quickly in jamaica today and in fact right across the whole world we are being bombarded by kobe 19 and we are told the variance to delta and another one mute mu mu sin is also categorized as other pandemic the worst pandemic you know i thank god for the the revelation to our young people in the crusade the virtual crusade we had where it was stated that sin is a worse pandemic but jesus is the only antiseptic the only antiseptic romans 3 and verse 23 says all have sinned and come short of the glory of god romans 5 and verse 12 said just that sin entered the world through one man and death through sin this came upon all men because all have sinned by the one man that is corona worse than corona one person get it and he comes and talked to you and you didn't know that he was packed with that disease that could kill you you talked to a man and he had a demon and he's a devil from hell and you don't realize what he has inside of him that can destroy you yes sin is categorized as a pandemic it has contaminated every person or many persons amen covered 19 has impacted our lives regardless of some of the protocols we seek to maintain like mask wearing doing social distancing practicing hand sanitizing and taking the vaccines because persons in jamaica have died even though they have taken a vaccine and many have caught the virus from others even though they've been wearing the mask no they knew this saying no more cloth marks surgical masks is what you must wear because this devil the pandemic kovite 19 has a way of entering through your class mask and when you're breathing he gets to where he wants and you don't know until you become very sick that is sin you look at a nice young lady good looking and you think well i'm not married yet and if she ever shows that she likes me i would consider her and you're going to talk to her is that you're talking to because you have covered but she now we have no mask are you looking on the outside but all sit i know what is inside and it grabs you in your lungs and takes you out in a short while a pandemic across the world millions of people are out of work right fewer people are allowed to and in to to attend church fewer people right and some churches engage in and thank god this church at one of them preaching the gospel and employing the platforms for zoom live stream using up youtube and facebook in an effort to reach persons whether members or not and i actually actually gave thanks to god when there were some brothers in this church who had the technical knowledge and went and got more knowledge and we were able to talk from where i am now to people in england and u.s and right across the globe if they tune in so the mandate that jesus gave is still possible coronavirus has evaded or invaded our world but in cannot it cannot stop jesus in working and reaching the heart of unsaved however this most serious pandemic which is sin can be dealt with romans 5 and verse 12 says just as sin entered the world by one man and death through sin death came upon all men because all have sinned that is the indication of the sort of pandemic that sin is your lone sin but that sin not staying in you alone because as you engage others it spreads it spreads jesus is the only antiseptic for sin romans 5 and verse 8 tells us that the blood of jesus amen the blood of jesus is that antiseptic you remember the little chorus we're saying what can wash away my sins nothing but the blood of jesus what can make me fit and strong and whole again nothing but the blood of jesus and then we shout oh how precious is that flow that makes me whiter snow no other font i know don't really cannot do it now your godfalls cannot do it no other font i know nothing but the blood of jesus hallelujah nothing but the blood of jesus second coming john 5 and verse 21 god made him jesus who knew no sin to be seen for us amen so that we can become the righteousness of god in him what an exchange what an exchange who wouldn't want that the unsaved only need to know because they think they know what they don't know and the knowledge they need is the knowledge of the my face and jesus says i shall put my name upon your foreheads but unsaved you have been bowing pulling bowing to satan for too long as you continue to fornicate intoxicate yourself with all forms of drugs and liquors gamble lie steal work orbia murder etc you see what has happened to jamaican horns is you cause if you know in particularly saint angel montego b center all of the indians have come from all over india and say they can tell you how to get rich who to marry oh but them now tell you how to be saved because they are lost jamaica is overwhelmed with these people and they cover the tv and they make sure they go to the cities the populous area of jamaica at least two per parish that's a fact and unsealed you are swallowing hook line and sinker for you believe them yet none of them would die for you and even if they did they could not save you for they are not worthy you have determined to spend eternity in hell don't go to play a role it is your decision and hell was not prepared for you but for the devil and his angels jesus died for you jesus was resurrected and jesus is inviting you to come just as you are in all your filthiness jesus guarantees i will wash you clean with my blood and make you my missionary my witness thereby you will win precious in full invaluable souls for me and at the end i will receive you unto myself my ancient friends we love you for god's sake give up on self sin the word and satan come to jesus for if you don't come to him now he is coming back again to judge you what will your answer be may god help you to make the right
