hello everybody welcome back today we're gonna be making a brown sugar swirl honey butter corn bread yes honey it's gonna be sucked up let's get to it y'all so first we're gonna make our brown sugar mixture and it's super easy y'all just a little bit of melted salted butter cause you know we gotta have a season okay add some brown sugar i wasn't measuring but but check the description box and i have the measurements in there for you then we're gonna just swirl it on around okay that brown sugar won't summon your brown sugar you know how we do it over here on this channel get that melon and sugar up in there sucked up okay then you want to just set that to the side super easy to make y'all now i'm going to use my butter flavored crisco in this cornbread yes it is so good shortening in cornbread is so delicious it makes it moist and good you can use vegetable oil if you want to but i'm telling you butter flavor shortening is the major key ingredient yes it is i'm just going to put it in my cast iron skillet because we're making another cast iron i'm going to place it in my oven to melt okay for about 10 minutes while my shortening is melting and my cast iron is heating up i'm going to go ahead and make the cornbread super easy we are using a pre-made mix but i'm not using jiffy because i don't want to have the sugar diabetes with this cornbread okay we got brown sugar swirl and honey and we don't want to use a sweet cake mix like cornbread mix okay so i want to use more of a one that is not sweet okay so i'm using i think that was uh anchor mama some more after white that's who it was mark i'm using martha okay so you can use any type of pre-made mix you want to and i'm just going to follow the instructions and add that buttermilk i don't know why my my bowl was rocking like a church mother in church i don't know why she was rocking back and forth like that but she was okay so i'm just gonna add my buttermilk i am using extra eggs i'm using more eggs than the package calls for because eggs and cornbread y'all when you add extra eggs to it and make it good and moist and soft what oh that's right okay so i'm gonna add four eggs to this mix i think i used two and a half cups of the pre-made mix and i'm gonna add my four eggs to that to make it good and moist honey and delicious and delectable okay we're just gonna stir that around until it is nice and combined and smooth was cornbread so it won't be so smooth but you know what i'm saying you know cornbread batter is like say like better okay you got a little few little dimples and stuff in there that's what we like okay okay real woman issues over here with the cornbread so you see look mixed up like that now i'm going to take that melted um flavor i mean i'm sorry that melted shortening i'm going to use half of it so put the other half back in the pan okay i'm going gonna pour half of the milk melted butter flavor shortening in there yeah get it nice and soft up recipes normally call for vegetable oil but honey use this butter flavor shortening it's good i'm telling you i'm leaning your horse to the water and i'm gonna show make you drink it with this one because it is bum so here's another tip when making your cornbread i grate my butter in so i've got my dollo hand grater yep and i've got some cold cold butter or you can put it in the freezer but the same technique we use for biscuits i use for cornbread because when that butter melts when you grate it in it creates like little pockets of butter in the batter so guess what happens when you have little pockets of butter in a batter when you put it into the oven it's going to what melts slowly slow rolling stroking with emotion yeah that's what i want my butter to do up in that cornbread baby yes so i'm gonna grate my butter up in there see look at that baby yeah look at that right there y'all we're gonna just stir that around up in there and it's gonna create those pockets of butter when we bake it and then melt and it's going to be so good yes please please please do this tip if you do this tip y'all it is a game changer for your cornbread just in general honey okay so just fold it around don't break that butter up honey we ain't trying to break it up okay we just want to fold it around okay now i took my um pan back out of the oven because i placed it back in there to get it nice and hot but i still have some shortening in there and it is nice and hot and now we're going to pour that batter look at that right there baby better getting all that crustification around the sides that's what we want uh that's why you want to use a cast iron baby cause don't get that crust at the bottom and give you those nice snatched uh cornbread edges that we won't okay aka them lace for an edge just that's what we want okay as you can see make sure your pan is nice and hot and then pour your batter in there and you can see those pockets of crust just forming already and we're gonna smooth it on out okay get everything nice and even because you don't want no luck sided oh uh cornbread okay you want to get nice even so just smooth it out now what i'm going to do is just take that brown sugar and butter mixture that i that we made earlier in the video you remember we're going to put that up in there like that right there we're just going to lay that on top lay it down in there hallelujah swirl that brown sugar up in there like that that melon and sugar oh well you know our batter is caucasian and our sugar is melon and brown okay so guess what we got we got buy racial cornbread amen thank you jesus okay we are the world we are the people we are all getting along here in food hey man thank you old mixed biracial cornbread so i just put my butter and my brown sugar up in there honey i'm taking my little butter knife here and i'm just swirling it around be careful i probably should use the bigger skillet but that's okay okay ain't really about that okay still gonna be good so we're just gonna swirl it around make sure you get that brown sugar all at the bottom and everything so it decreases in the crisps of that cornbread so when you cut into it you see that corn that brown sugar just be sucked up okay and that cornbread yeah make sure you do that so once you kind of swirl it around in there if you got some leftover butter and sugar like i do i'm just gonna take a little bit okay i'm turning some picasso around here okay take a little bit and just swirl a little bit on the top okay make it cute i guess i don't know whatever okay i'm a little artiste with my cornbread i'm gonna bake it on 425 y'all for about 25 to 30 minutes when it comes out it's gonna be looking like this y'all see that brown sugar crust on top huh yes honey we ain't done we're gonna put some more salted butter on there make sure you have salty butter okay put that salted butter on there and because i want to and i feel like it is my cornbread i'm gonna put some honey on there okay to make it good and up this honey with the brown sugar and the butter y'all this was so doggone good as you can see it look amazing yes honey let it let it rest for about 10 to 15 minutes before you cut it okay once you do that because that honey gonna soak up in there with that butter you see what i'm talking about that butter then got up in the creases and the crevices of that brown sugar and that cornbread you see and we're gonna cut it now look at that knife going through that good good moist cornbread y'all this is so doggone good okay wait for you guys to see watch this watch this right here look at that moisture right there sucked up uh-huh you see that brown sugar swirled up in there y'all see it look at that right there looking all good okay looking like you look and look at that right there probably should have cooled a little bit more but i ain't care i was gonna risk it all so i can eat it baby look at that moisture huh look at that oh my god thank you guys so much for watching be sure to like share comment and subscribe can't wait to share more recipes with you guys hope you're staying safe out there bye y'all
