[Music] thank you [Music] so [Music] [Music] i will bless the lord at all [Music] oh times i'm breathing i'll bless the lord [Music] i will bless the lord at [Music] no matter what i see or how i feel [Applause] as long [Applause] [Music] magnify the lord with me together let's lay down our ground and lift up [Music] let's do it together let's do it together that means all of us tonight church let's do it together let's do it again come on can you bless the lord with me [Music] tonight on lift your hands and open your mouth tonight let's do it let's do it together [Music] [Music] it was over [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] i should have been dead but you've been better than good to me [Music] [Applause] [Music] i should have been dead [Applause] [Music] [Music] good i should have been dead [Applause] [Music] i should have been dead [Applause] [Applause] [Music] isn't good [Music] [Music] i should have been dead [Applause] i [Music] can you lift your voice [Music] [Music] [Music] my name is [Music] hallelujah turn to your neighbors say we are apostolic what that means is when we come together to have church we're not participating in a concert but we're all in this together so you may not sing in a microphone but put your hands together open your mouth up wide let the devil know and let heaven know let the lord know that you're here to praise him can i do i have a witness is there a witness in the house [Music] hallelujah thank you lord thank you lord thank you lord hallelujah hallelujah um i could use a little bit more up here please um i saw man i could use a little more up here if we got it wherever you're at i think i think i think i hear it happening hallelujah so we need to make a few announcements um just so everybody knows uh you do not have to over flow the restrooms out here in the foyer if you make your way through those double doors and through the next double doors into the fellowship hall area there's another full set same size same amount of facilities and everything in the fellowship hall a whole other set of restrooms and so on and so forth so we want you to be aware of that which would take the strain off restroom facilities also we will be having tomorrow night during tomorrow night's service for children ages 6 through 12. we will be having super our kids super church and it will be there's a room a second floor room right on the other side of that wall right there in the youth room the way you access that is right when you first come in through the front door uh you make an immediate left uh if you make a right you're going into the men's bathroom so you might want to make a left and go up the stairs and you're in good shape all right also i have i said food trucks i really believe the food trucks are trying to vie for being the center of the conference um they are just a great great add-on to the conference we're excited they're here uh i mean there's mexican there's cajun food there's snow cones there's there's all kinds of stuff going on out there and so they are available immediately after the services they are located directly behind the sound booth so you can go out either one of those doors you go out any door and circle around but that's where they are located so we want you to know that that's going to be there and there will be seating uh overflow seating for fellowship and so on and so forth in the fellowship hall which is through those double doors so after you uh if you want to go the food truck and make yourself available and it's good food and um make yourself available of the seating and the arrangements for fellowship we want you to know that that is available for you i'm excited about everything god's doing in bridge [Music] [Applause] i'm thankful for what bridge means what it means to me um for too long um it seems like there has been division and i don't believe that it is god's will for there to be division anywhere in his body and we have and i'm going to call a spade a spade but we've let organizational boundaries and we've let this and we've let that i understand that there are some things that you're going to hold to as far as churches there's going to be differences and so on and so forth the way some churches are i understand those things but ultimately at the end of the day i think we're going to be a lot of surprise we're going to be very surprised at a lot of folks we're going to see in heaven [Music] huh well but i'm not waiting till i get over there if you if [Music] i've decided if you got the holy ghost the same holy ghost i got and if you're doing your best to live a separated life a life of holiness and separation and righteousness unto the lord and if you've been baptized in his name well [Music] and let me just say this and if you got the same holy ghost i got you got it with the evidence of speaking in other tongues [Music] so the rest of all that i'm really not the judge and i'm not i'm not gonna even try to be i'm gonna let the lord sort that all out when we all get over there my main thing is to be like brother marks preach to us today i gotta get me right and i know the best way to get me right is to say wait a minute uh you might be in the aljc or you might be in the wpf or you might be independent or you might be this or you might be that but at the end of the day i don't find where the bible said well we got a little church over here and this is the and we got a little church that's not the scope of it is is let's all get let's get past all that i'm not talking about compromising the wood the world i'm not talking about no we're not going to let that stuff in but we are going to come together and say wait a minute god's got one church in this earth and we're going to by the help of the lord we're going to reach out and we're going to embrace each other [Music] well some folks get on their high horse and they don't want to hear that doesn't matter what camp they're coming from if that bothers you you might be in the wrong spot but i don't know [Music] i'm not the preacher tonight but i'm i got the microphone right now hallelujah and we got the elder coming to preach tonight but i want to say this before we go any further if you have not been able to take part in some of these sessions that we've been in since last night and then today i'm going to tell you brother frazier and brother marks have forevermore preached some of the best preaching you'll ever hear in your life [Music] and it's the kind of preaching that doesn't just give you all fluttery feeling and then you know you're all excited and then you leave and next week you can tell you couldn't tell what what it was they preached but it's the kind that stays with you it's like meat on your bones and i'm thankful for it i think it'd be all right if we give the lord a praise clap our hands to him magnify his name [Applause] this is not in the schedule this is not in the schedule but i'm going to do it anyway uh for one thing they're both very good friends you may be seated uh the other is is um you know giving honor where honors do and uh one of the first people i want to recognize here is uh a good friend he's the district superintendent for alabama here and um he's been a friend for years and years and years and years i guess moby dick was a minnow when i first met him in leo but we want to i want to welcome brother uh well i know his first name but he's known his brother stan davidson for those of you who don't know john stanley daniel davidson and uh well we want to invite him to come and greet us come brother david said we love you we respect you we thank you for your blessing to the kingdom [Music] amen if you want to know how long i've known brother bertram greg wilbanks was the youth pastor i had to throw that at you there bro amen you know what god has made some awesome promises to his people and when he made the promise that he would be the divine healer he knew there was going to be a something called kobed one day and when he made the promise that i'll go with you even to the end of the age he knew what kind of age was going to be living in amen and when he said upon this rock i'll build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it he knew everything that the gates of hell was going to try to do and yet we are here and we're a church victorious amen and our god has never been outsmarted outwitted out maneuvered and he never will be amen i am honored to be here as a part of this conference i totally support this bridge conference and i still totally support the wonderful united worship looking forward to the ministry of the word sorry i could not be here early today to hear what we've already heard but thank you for the opportunity to be here god bless every one of you hallelujah i know i'm taking this extra moment but uh also as a as a somebody that is i consider highly highly important and does a fantastic job and i'm not into they'll tell you this i'm not into politics but over the years and his wife will tell you we started out in a really rocky rough bumpy road and we showed up to get to know each other on a baseball field before you knew it it was rough and we decided then if we was going to at least i did if he's going to go any farther uh he's going to leave he's going to leave that behind and we and i'm just i'm just having fun i want brother tony brauer to come and greet you uh he is our district super secretary and uh started calling superintendent maybe i'm having a i don't know maybe i'm having a moment here none of the rest of us want it you got it bro come on brother roberts amen hey man the last guy not paying attention gets nominated and gets the vote so that's why you always show up at meetings never skip a meeting where they're going to vote amen thank you so much brother bertram consider him a great friend known him for a lot of years known brother davidson for many years and it's such a honor and privilege to be here brother frazier and i go way way way back we were in the same youth group together amen brother daryl johns was our youth pastor and grew up at first pentecostal church in jackson and wow uh spent a lot of time at his house and enjoying his mom's cooking and i think i was thinking today on the on the drive over i'm probably in the church today because of brother frazier's mom because she just would not give up she just wouldn't give up and when we were not doing right sister frazier was praying for us and she just wouldn't quit [Music] sometimes stubborn people can live for god the best just hard-headed stubborn people that won't give up won't get offended amen change the lock on the door they'll try to break in amen that's the kind of scene i want to be [Music] change the lock i'll be sitting there in the morning trying to get in because i can't do without the church i can't make it without the church amen you and i can't make it without each other we might as well get used to it because you and i cannot make it without each other we need each other and today we need to be united more than anything else because satan would love to divide the church [Music] there's enough division outside the church when we walk in the church we've got to be united because it's us against the world when we get in here we're fighting spiritual battles amen thank you brother bertrand from hosting this this is great thank you thank you church for allowing me to be here and amen i'm looking forward to the ministry of the word looking forward to what god is going to do god bless you and i would be remiss by not mentioning that it is great to see brother decker here uh we love you brother decker we don't talk often enough we need to fix that hallelujah and uh from way back my my wife and i uh were in pastoring a little home missions work in a place called odessa florida and evangelists stopped by and and preached for us and preached for us and and we decided to keep him around a little while because he could cook now he could destroy your kitchen while he did it but um but when he got done cooking he didn't worry about the mess he just ate the food and then cleaned out the mess later it was all good brother mark fontenot we love you thank you so much for being here appreciate you so much and i do and if i if i'm missing somebody forgive me for that uh i'm trying to catch everybody but i did notice brother uh darryl thrasher uh we are so thankful you are here we love you and your sweet little wife uh bro we both married up we know it so there ain't no thing at the end of that and um i'm going to take one more moment to say this that um [Music] my wife and i'll probably say something again tomorrow too but my wife had no idea uh what she was getting into when she married me all those years ago [Music] brother wilbanks i heard i think a real oh that was i got too many people over here know too much about me you guys just mom's a word and uh he was mentioning brother wilbanks being our youth pastor my wife and i when we were young and i and i said yeah i turned to somebody i said yeah he wasn't happy about it he was fine with her it was that he was nonetheless i always look at it like this you know you know people pray for patience so god gives them trials so he must have prayed for a lot of patience back then because he got a lot of trial uh through that merchant boy that's reason why i'm so good at handling all some of you all now uh praise god all you home folks because you know tate's one takes one to no one it's good to be in the presence of the lord it's good to be with him brother jeremy williams brother brad jeans he showed up anyway he called me yesterday had all kinds of stuff going on and thought he wasn't going to make it it is so good to see my friend from indiana i love you man this is awesome this is awesome i wish there was room for everybody to sit up here but then we'd all be sitting up here there wouldn't be anybody out there to preach to so i i want to say about my wife carlos object where's she at come up here baby what'd you say about i said i'm going to control my i'm going to have dominion over my spirit brother marx right now that message he preached today because she probably didn't want me to do this but this right here is the is the neck that turns the head this is the this is the one that makes all the little stuff happen this person right here you know i know i'm taking a moment it's all right we got one speaker tonight most of these deals they run two speakers you don't get out of there until midnight so my wife just said to me come on we're wasting time [Music] and you know what went through my mind was that old story about that guy holding his hog up to feed eat the apples off the tree and the neighbor come by said wouldn't it be easier just to shake the tree take a lot less time he said oh man what's time to haul well all right we did come to our church amen i said we did come to have church i wonder if we could join with the praise team they're going to lead us in worship let's don't just let them sink to us tonight [Music] can we join them let's give god some praise give god the glory [Music] jesus [Music] oh [Music] let's go [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh is you and praise you for all that you have done all that you are going to continue to do bless every giver every gift in jesus name we pray amen god bless you tonight as you get [Music] is [Music] when i ran down that i am not alone [Music] i foreign deny what i think [Music] [Music] [Applause] cause you ain't welcome here is because he heals my heart change my name forever [Music] [Applause] i thank god [Music] i cannot deny what i see [Music] [Applause] friends [Music] [Music] you're not welcome [Music] is [Music] change my head [Applause] [Music] [Music] i am is [Music] i pick me up turn forever [Music] know sometimes this is hard to grasp we know god saved me god healed me he died on the cross for me but sometimes especially apostolics who are really good at church we'll just stay in that grave we'll be like not too close i took them off i took out my grave clothes we're good but i'm comfortable here i've been here a while and i'm here to tell you i'm also not the preacher tonight but i'm here to tell you this choir's got a message for you and we're saying get up get up get up get up out of that grave get up get up get up get [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] get up [Music] [Music] get up get up get up [Music] because he [Music] because he healed my heart changed my [Music] i thank god [Music] oh thank you lord [Music] sometimes you just gotta let them know i still i still got the joy i still got the joy of the holy ghost my soul hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah praise god praise god one thing we don't really do a whole lot of is we don't stop worshiping for power very very very very very almost nothing [Music] we just about got to quit breathing stop praising [Music] that's all right [Music] hallelujah hallelujah i'm so full i don't even know what all to say but i'm here right now with a very enjoyable task i want to say thank you to [Music] to our praise team and the choir [Music] and [Music] and i want to thank them personally as their pastor for the countless hours that they've worked they didn't just get up here and decide to just do this in the last you know 30 minutes or so there's there's hours and hours and uh before she gets away she's the last one out the first one in but sister jasmine [Music] we love you we're so thankful for you and yes there have been many that have tried to steal your way and yes i've i've hindered their efforts and we'll continue to do so thank you musicians thank you brother richard for heading it all up and putting it all together coordinating it all and uh i don't know everybody's names so i'm not gonna get in trouble i know half of them but the other we got two or three with this keyboard while keyboard player organ player and a guitar player from around the district and uh the names you know i've i've turned 60 this year what that means is sometimes i can't remember my own so hallelujah but we are so thankful for all of you and making the a part of making this this what it is the part that you're playing thank you our media people sound people camera people i've already started getting reports some of you probably never even noticed it but we've put thousands of dollars and i mean thousands of dollars worth of camera systems in this place in the last a couple of weeks to create a better playback uh also for those that are out there that are unable to be here in person being able to take part in the services and uh much more i hesitate to use this word but much more professional experience for those that are viewing and we'll tell you something how you present yourself not only to each other but to the world around us there's people all over the place that are watching the apostolics right now and one of the reasons is is while so many other denominations are shuttering around the world and around the country the apostolics are moving to the forefront and they're saying we've got the answer and we do hallelujah so we want to present in the best best possible way sitting here looking at this bible it has engraved on it lettering on it bishop larry booker to our church here he is our elder and we love him [Music] so very very much words cannot say what needs to be said to express the appreciation and thanks to brother marks and to brother frazier for what has been said to up until this point but it is right and the time is right and i don't know about you but i am looking forward to whatever it is that brother booker is going to bring to us from the word of the lord tonight brother booker years ago my my pastor at that time [Music] called me one day and he said it's time for you to be ordained and i will say this without apology that you were there preaching the alabama camp that year and i was thrilled that you were there to preach the ordination service that night and it meant so much to me then it will mean so much to me for the rest of my life i respect you i respect you i honor you higher than you can even imagine and i love you i'll do anything but lay down let you walk on me come and just give us as god is given to you and we know it's from heaven god we love you praise the lord everybody thank you jesus it is so you may be seated it is a great honor to be here i don't say that lightly i say that from the depths of my heart and i mean that very very very much it's a great honor and uh we love your pastor and his wife and family and we thank god for them thank god for this church that was an exceedingly kind introduction and the way a person has to do those introductions is uh same thing he does with chewing gum enjoy it but don't swallow it praise god and as for the bible and the bishop larry booker that was a present from your brother-in-law brother rick mayo so he's when i put stuff on my bible i don't say bishop so i'm just getting a name out there and i'm glad praise god somebody finds that they can bring it back to me like brother marx did today thank you god bless you and uh it's great being here for a number of reasons um appreciate the concept of this meeting i appreciate everything i've heard and i reiterate what has been said if you can get your hands on last night's message my brother frazier in today's message by brother frazier by all means you really need to do so and today another cody marks um you know we talked about the cameras and doing our best to make everything professional and look good it's a shame to go through all that expense and have me up here praise god but brother marks and then brother frazier both in their own way they um they were very thorough and they were very anointed and this is gauche but it was true spiritually they crawled in my belly button and out my chest and they took a bunch of stuff with them on the way and um if you heard that today and didn't make you stop and pause and think and ponder and pray and say god make a better me if if if that didn't happen then then there's just something broke in there but uh listen to it again and again and maybe get fixed praise god excellent excellent excellent it's good to be here with uh the brethren and uh brother thrasher wow there you are god bless you were you driving that black car on the way to church was that you oh i'm telling you you you hung on to my tailgate really good i i was trying to get away from you but i couldn't you can drive sis that's the way to do it and uh so good to see you and then good to see brother decker again love this family love these kids and uh i don't think i know i think i met you brother cornwall if i remember right but it's good to see you and brother davidson good to see you again brother roberts god bless you and the will bank says love them both very much sister nancy wilbanks you have a special place in heaven for keeping him as straight as you do god bless you keep it up god bless you thank you thank you well [Music] we are here and i take this service very very very seriously and i felt the lord talking to me this afternoon and i didn't come here with any preconceived ideas but i did come here praying a lot [Music] about what we would be doing but i didn't get my direction until this afternoon and um i'm actually feeling very strong to go back to a message that i have not touched for almost 20 years and i've actually brought it to parts of alabama but i just feel for us to go here i'd like you to stand with me if you would to second samuel chapter 10. i have a little bit of a yeah that's what i got a little bit of praise god so i i stepped back here to see if that would point it out so apparently it did and uh i remember if you saw me sitting when others were standing it's um it's it's not a weak spirit it's not a weak desire it's weak knees praise god and they're about to get worked on and uh pray that sister brenda booker will get after me the way sister nancy wilbanks gets after her husband and makes me do my knee therapy praise god pray call her call her every few days and tell her good good get it down get it down and uh but anyway here we are we're excited to be here second samuel chapter 10 beginning at verse 1. and it came to pass brother cody marks i love you that's not in the scripture but i just thought i thought i'd tell you that i love you and i'm going to tell you something brother jeremy will banks this guy preached a message at peak he didn't knock it out of the park i told his dad he hit it past the moon you need to listen to that that's unbelievable okay well it's enough of that and it came to pass after this that the king of the children of ammon died and hanan his son reigned in his stead then said david i will show kindness unto hanan the son of nahash as his father showed kindness unto me and indeed he did and david sent to comfort him by the hand of his servants for his father and david's servants came into the land of the children of ammon and the princes of the children of ammon said unto hainan their lord thinkest thou that david thy that david doth honor thy father that he hath sent comforters unto thee hath not david rather sent his servants unto thee to search the city and to spy it out and to overthrow it wherefore hanan took david's servants and shaved off the one half of their beards and cut off their garments in the middle even to their buttocks and sent them away i.e talking to themselves and i know it's hard to believe but a war came out of that you just don't treat ambassadors like that and here's the end result verse 18 eminent hired the syrians to come and the syrians fled before israel and david slew the men of 700 chariots of the syrians and 40 000 horsemen and smotes show back the captain of their host who died there and it was just getting started because when david was through with ammon they were the ones talking to themselves literally for decade after decade after decade let's pray let's ask that god would talk to us tonight we know we are in the end of the end of the end times for the people upon whom the ends of the ends have come and how we see life and what we do with life what we do with with and in our world is of ut most important and to do that correctly we really have to see ourselves and our situation in this world correctly let's ask god to help us all every one of us lord jesus we are mindful of you we are very very mindful of our need of you [Music] we're mindful of the strange hour in which we live but as been stated it's an hour that you are well aware of nothing takes you by surprise yeah god you have prepared all things and we're asking in the name that's above every name for an anointing to rest on every single one god give us ears to hear what your spirit but your spirit what your word would say quicken each of us god everyone as we commit this service and our lives into your hands in jesus name we pray amen amen amen god bless you and brother jeans i love you buddy you're a good good man i'm so happy you are here now um we don't need to rehearse the details of our text it's pretty self-explanatory um i will stop and say what nahash hanan's father did for david is that in the years of his exile while he was working his way through the wildernesses of israel and from city to city and haunt to haunt and cave the cave and drama to drama and trauma to trauma and place of peril to another place of peril all come about because a man named saul who was once godly humble and a truly great king he he began to perceive things incorrectly he got to looking at things not the way god saw them not the way if i can use the term his pastor at least his prophet amen the judge the last judge of israel samuel saw them but he got to looking at life through his own colored glasses and as a result of such he would make mistakes and and the thing about decisions we make our decisions but we are also made by our decisions and so saul began to create a world for him that he ended up not liking very very much and he didn't like very many people in his world either and before he died i don't know that anybody that knew him and was close to him completely trusted him because you never knew he was kind of like silly putty thrown up against the wall you never knew which way saul was going to bounce except it probably wouldn't be a good bounce so as his world unfolded god in his goodness and in his mercy said i'm going to find someone to replace him and he chose a man after his own heart it was the only place in scripture where it is stated of a uh an individual that that he was a man after god's own heart it's the highest praise that someone can get except for jesus christ he said i don't say anything but what the father gives it to me so if there ever was a man after god's own heart it was god's heart made flesh so what what what constituted this we know if you're familiar with your scriptures that david was not perfect and there were times he could be hideously far from perfect but the overall tone and tenor of his life was of such a great stature that he became the standard by which all following kings were measured they either did according to david or not according to david he was the standard bearer for kingship and the greatest king that israel ever had and will have until jesus christ the son of david rules and reigns amen from jerusalem so this man after god's own heart i will just stop here and make this statement we don't know what it was about david for god to say that so whenever you find a clue you do need to pay very close attention to it and uh there are two clues to me and and i'm telling you ahead of time i'm working with king james english here so this is not a highly investigative uh word search in hebrew but it is interesting that by way of scripture david is the first man it's written to tell god he loved him i'm sure abraham did moses did but it never says that but god took pains to have it expressed in his word he's the first one to say i love you he's also the first one to say thank you first one i'm not they jacob got close he said i'm not worthy of the mercy and the truth which thou has shown me that's that's as close as you can get to saying thank you but again king james english david's the first one to say thank you so for whatever else that means amen loving him and expressing your love to him amen my my mother was one of the sweetest women that i've ever known in my life she did not live for god but i never heard her tell me that she loved me but i knew she loved me it wasn't until i was filled with the holy ghost living for god and i began to tell her i loved her that and at first it was like well i i love you and then it got easier and easier and easier and easier and easier i know she loved me as much when i was little as she did the day she died but it sure means something to hear it don't it we don't want to be like the old boy sitting on the porch in arkansas and she said honey we've been married for 62 years he's rocking he said yes she said it's been 47 years since you told me you loved me he said well if i had to change my mind i'd let you know so words mean something and david understood that and god understood that and i think that's why god chose to let it be said so this man david when he was in that wilderness fleeing and hiding and going from haunt to haunt it was nahash the king of syria who would send him oftentimes the scripture doesn't go into great detail but it says often that he would send him sustenance in his wilderness haunts the king of ammon now there was a reason for that i don't think that he was woke up i don't think he prayed for david before he went to bed at night but he did have a confrontation with king saul many many years ago jabez gilead and saul taught him where to stay and how to act and who to mess with and who not to mess with and so when he found out that saul hated david he looked kind of like david and so he helped him out for whatever the reason was david didn't forget it and so now nehash dies his son reigns and he begins he sends men comforters ambassadors to go and to comfort hanan and bring him presence over the loss of his father and it was it was uh hanan's princes of the realm that we read the text they begin to take him aside and say i hope you really don't think these people care a goat's bleat about your dead father they're not here to comfort you they're spies they're checking us out they're finding out our weaknesses they're they're scoping the place they they didn't know what the term computer meant but had they known they just said they're walking computers soaking up everything they see they're calculating and they're going to go home and make war plans so hainan listens to them they give him advice and he takes it and we read how he disparaged them and made them look like utter absolute fools and eventually the war came this is just a little thought of mine now in case you haven't noticed i kind of move slow and as i've said before we may we're just trying to get the old train out of the station we got a lot of cargo but if god helps us we may get to blow the whistle before we go home praise god we'll see but in this process the bible tells us that david did nothing when this happened and it was not and you wonder why he didn't do something and no doubt joab and abishai were like in his face come on and as was their want but he uh he just he just laid back and he waited and then they hired the syrians and when they hired the syrians is when he went after him and i've just wondered if the reason david didn't go after him immediately is because god wouldn't let him just sit tight sit back i'll tell you when to go i know when to rustle the mulberry trees just wait on me and so he waits waits and when the syrians get involved no doubt like drawing pharaoh's army into the red sea i would like to teach not only ammon a lesson but i think while we're at it we're going to teach syria something as well so once they come in david said now we go i'm so thankful i had coveted last year i can do this all day long amen i never even used to do it before but not so uh and the war came and it was a bad bloody day for syria and for ammon both and we won't get into all the repercussions but ammon ammon ate dust for decades over this deal and it was all because of a misconception it was all because somebody saw something other than the way it really was and their misconception their their perception was of such a nature that they gave bad advice based on their perception and the king bought into their perception and and when it was over they were all ruined hangman was no longer king so by his younger brother became king and and there we are all because somebody misread something it's important how we see things it really is it's very important how we see things now how we view things our conception of something uh our notion the mental image the idea the concept the impression again the perception the picture the thought the insight the interpretation the mental uh a perception how we view things based on our memory on our experiences our images and most importantly for us what the word of god says and what the holy ghost will say to us if we will be sensitive and wait on him we need to see not through the world's prism we need to see through this this is a road map to get us to glory in the safest possible way and uh in the only way but also the safest way if we'll take heed to his word if we'll learn and put it in our heart that we might not sin against him and then if we walk in the spirit not in the flesh the flesh can get you in trouble this quick which was brought to us so forcibly today by these brethren and so so walking in a spirit is a is a huge deal it's not a small deal and when people get things in their heads it can it can really stick it can be a big deal i read of a study made in the 1970s there was a psychologist last psychiatrist psychoanalysis he the guy he had it all but in the course of his life he began to show around co-workers and people in his field some neurotic actions and they started with small things and then over the course of weeks it got worse and worse in months until finally there was a rather an uproar and the bottom line of that long story was he got so bad he literally had to be committed this was in the 70s and so he was he was committed to an asylum the day he got committed shown to his room i'd called it a cell but i'm sure it was just a room be a cell to me i'll tell you that when he got there immediately he started talking complete absolute sense no more neurotic actions if it was time to eat he could carry on conversation when he met with his handlers and and questioning him everything was back on key perfectly and everyone was taking notes on his statements and actions and reactions to questions and situations that would be arranged etc etc and uh after all he began to tell them you know i'm quite well you can understand that can't you yes we understand and and uh no matter what he said what he did and how right and normal and sane he was acting he was he's goofed up man that poor guy he's he's out of it and everybody could they would compare notes and yeah i did notice this and i did notice that so this went on until finally one of his friends came to see him and he told him said okay jig's up time's up go ahead and tell him and so some fellow psychologists that were involved in this came and said it's all a sham he never was crazy he uh the whole thing the neurotic behaviors everything he was doing that so he could get himself committed and the day you will notice that he got here he was he was completely normal and what he was doing was he was checking doctor's perceptions of him based on their perception that he was crazy and because they perceived him as being crazy as far as they were concerned he couldn't do nothing right he could say everything just right he could do everything just right he could handle himself just right but they could see they knew they knew he said that but i know what he really meant and they're taking notes and they compare notes and and said he puts on a good act boy i won't tell you what i wouldn't want to have to share a room with him but he seems like he's okay and he was okay they were the ones on trial and the whole test was based on our perceptions of situations can if we're not careful discolor common sense we can see things or think that think that we see things we can be like the cat that mark twain talked about this cat was want to jump on cabinets and jump up here and jump up there and sit around look around well one day he jumped up and he sat down on a hot uh lid on a on on a on a burner and so he wasn't there long and he well uh he never again would ever sit on a it wasn't quite a lid it was it was a flat pan he wouldn't sit on one hot cold or in between ever again to him everything that looked like that was trouble and so you know it's good to learn a lesson but don't learn a lesson so much that it robs you of future stuff take the lesson as far as it's supposed to go a classic example of that was king uzziah who did everything so right and he was mightily mightily blessed and and the problem was he did great great great until he became great in his own eyes and one day he thought i'm so cool but bless your heart i can do anything any priest in his kingdom can do in fact i think i'm going to do it and he he gets him a an incense burner and he he gets it already and he starts going taking that sensor into the temple and the priests are saying no you can't do that that doesn't pertain to kingship it's not for monarchs it's only for priests and his his ideology was i'm as good as any priest ever made look how i'm blessed look at my understanding and they're and they're getting around no no no no and he's he's in the temple he's carrying the sensor and then they're no please and then all of a sudden they're backing off he's looking at the looks on their faces maybe maybe he went to the brazen labor where he could actually see himself and leprosy had broke out on his forehead and the bible said they not only wanted him out of there he hasted to get out of there he couldn't get out of there fast enough he was no longer king and the bible said he had to live in a several house or a separated house the rest of his life he was a leper he didn't have to go around saying unclean unclean he just lived there by himself so his son jotham became king and jotham by all we have it was a good king he talks about the things that he did and the gates that he built and not another way has he improved in jerusalem it does say howbeit he never entered the temple for nothing my daddy was turned into a leper in that place and so i ain't even going to church he learned too much he learned too much he learned more than he was supposed to learn he didn't he didn't draw the like right conclusion you can go in there son at the right place in time just don't go taking a censor and offering up incense that's what you're supposed to learn duh but his his perception is what is what is what messed him up this this deal with this this uh psychologist and and uh how he everybody misread him that happens every day in workplaces all over this world a new boss comes on the scene and somebody said well i'm going to tell you something about that guy i heard about him and people go oh and it's like acts 17 if i'm thinking right where jews came to iconium if i'm not mistaken and and they and everybody was liking paul and the messages they brought and and said until these jews came and their minds were evilly affected one translation says their minds were poisoned against them until that time hey you're great till somebody came and poisoned the well and changed their conception you can change people's conception in the workplace amen uh the wrong mouth working the wrong place the wrong time saying the wrong things can sure make it hard for a pastor to do his job it can happen it can happen we have to be very very very careful that that our perceptions are not released i'll never forget a moment in fact i've got a message i talk about it's it's seminal moments where's my where's my cadet armor bearer bring me a chair precious he brought me his chair that's a good guy thank you buddy what's your name matthew oh that's a good name i'll never forget this was a seminal moment in my life i i use this i talk this especially if i'm dealing with ministers and stuff i was in my early 20s you know it's a shame to get old sometimes people will come to me with a problem pretty gordian knot type problem and i'll tell them you got here 40 years too late if you'd have caught me in my 20s i could have helped you man so i was in my 20s and i i saw all knew all understood all and i was on the front row of church in a fellowship meeting well a lot of these people are dead now so it's easy i can say it without there was a man up there preaching that used to pastor a church where my wife's a lot of her family went to and they didn't care for him and so they talked about it and it got to me i heard some of it and i was just young enough and stupid enough and thought i was smart enough to believe everything i heard so he was up preaching this fellowship meeting and i'm on the front row my wife's next to me i hate to tell you this i i'm embarrassed but i it's a real deal i was like and you knew him well brother marx there was two problems i was having three one he's up there but i know the second problem was he was really preaching a great message and the third problem was he was heavily anointed but what i knew was overpowering that great message in his anointing at one point david could play the harp and drive demons away from saul but once his perceptions changed about that boy he couldn't play to save his life you better play good and you better be fast if you're gonna escape my javelins dude when the harp loses its power nine times out of ten is because people's perceptions so i was here with my perceptions and he was heavily anointed and preaching a great message when my seminal moment i was never the same after that it changed me it was a portion of my life that was never the same again the lord spoke to me he really did and said you could at least respect my word and i sat up and i paid attention to every single word he said and in later years we became very good friends and he went to pastor howard's and helped him when he was an old man and brother howard said he was the greatest old preacher i ever had in my church thank you matthew you can i don't think i need it again one time in that chair is enough so all preaching from that point i have that's been that's been that's been a backdrop of every message i've heard of people that i listen i may not even agree with every statement in fact i've never personally heard a preacher that if i listened to him long enough i agreed with every single thing he said including me amen i mean maybe this message i agreed with everything is it somewhere you know i mean i i know what the little toe on the right foot of the b stands for duh so anyway i'm teasing so it changed something in me and it certainly didn't make me perfect at all but i found out that skewered perceptions if you're not careful they'll rob you and if we get robbed other people are going to get robbed church listen to me i don't even have to break it down fine our world is messed up the whole world's messed up it's been messed up since since the garden of eden but it's taking on new hues and new and and we're living in a nation that has been so blessed and even in its worst days there was there was there was common sense enough that the whole world respected america the whole world i remember when the supreme court passed its its its decision about who could get married to who regardless of gender and i got an email from someone that lives in the philippines a chinese woman a great lady she's not in the apostolic faith but she's a great lady and there's been times when hurricanes and storms and earthquakes would hit areas where our saints live and she would fork out over 50 000 of her own money to get food to those one god jesus name apostolic peoples that's right and i got an email from her when that supreme court decision was made and she said my heart and the hearts of many of my friends are broken today because we've always looked at america as the last bastion of common sense well it's went then downhill from there i'm going to tell you something very shocking i know this is it's it's hard to believe but you just have to take my word for it but man cannot have babies i know that's hard to believe i know it's it's tough but uh you know it's just it's it's still that way it's still that way and i noticed the other day when i was i was getting some tickets on an airplane it said gender and and the very fact that i'm mentioning this i wouldn't be surprised if what down the road gender male female other i wouldn't be surprised well if it's other i'm going to put chihuahua problem is they'll try to fit me in a tiny cage but anyway so the point in in that little discord is simply this church if anybody on earth has to keep their head on straight it's the church of the living god we've got to keep our head on straight if anybody has to see it as right as possible it's us we need to see the world now a lot of times there's a great many people that think they are thinking but they're really just kind of rearranging their prejudices they're not really they're just kind of shuffling things around i'll tell you how interesting that can be i had a friend of mine that he was driving down the road late at night and there was there was a radio program on and they were interviewing uh an occultist and this occultist and any and he was a sorcerer and he um talked about he was talking about demons and this and and he was talking about churches the the questioner was asking are you afraid of christians and nah well is there anybody you're afraid of he said there's a group that we pay attention to well who are they he said i'm not going there he said well come on who are they he said this is all i'm going to say and no more they're out there their women don't cut their hair that's all he would say and say well what about all these peoples that are casting devils out of people the guy laughed he said they're just shuffling the deck brothers and sisters we have to see it right we have to see it right now the individual that never can change an opinion amen and trying to talk to somebody that's they just they if they have a mindset like that now we're not talking about scriptural truths we're talking about just stuff life's a trip you understand that i'll give you an example here and this is this is really touching um this vaccination stuff's a trip i've never said i would never get vaccinated i said i'm not going to have to drag me i'm not in no hurry i'll tell you that much and my son felt the same way he called me yesterday he said i said how you doing he said well i'm calling you to tell you i just got my first shot i said really he said yes i'm going to tell you why i did it dad we've got three people in our church very very sick in the hospital two of them may not make it and i cannot get in to see them and he said they're not if they die or they live they're going to know i was there for them but that's a that's a that's a deal there's a lot of ways to twist somebody's arm up in the middle of their back in there so there's just we can get into situations where opinions can get and stuff can get set but if you're not careful you get you get too much now people say well i think that i think the vaccination is the mark of the beast well i don't but i think it's a poor tent i think they're feeling out the waters they're they're checking out i'm telling you if anybody has to have their head on straight it's you and i amen and so someone that cannot be changed on stuff is like standing murky water it's not fluid it just breeds insects and reptiles of the mind so the way if the word and god's spirit holy ghost anointed preaching that leads to more righteousness godliness that's a key now in this process it's so easy to see situations i'll give you a couple of examples we've all done it we've all been guilty we can see situations i read of a man one time this is the day when people really really really rode trains uh there are still commuter trains in some of our major cities and subways and things of that nature that really get ridden and in the days when people they didn't read their information on phones they had newspapers and stuff and so there was a man on a train he always caught this certain train at a certain time in a certain station he knew how many stops it would be before he would get off and so he would have his paper it was his custom well on this day there was a there was a man across the bench here was a bench across the bench here was a man and he had four children he was holding one on his lap and the kid on his lap little kid was kicking and kicking and the other three children were running up and down they'd come by and they'd hit his paper and they'd run in and they'd run out so he was he was tired at the end of the day and and the man was oblivious we've all been there he was he was just oblivious his kids were like they were just and finally he folded up his paper sir sir i think you need to get your kids in line they're driving me in half this car crazy and the man came out of stupid because i i'm so sorry i'm i'm so sorry and he has this kid he gets his kids and he sets him down by him and he's got him sit please please just stay there kids and he's getting him calm so the guy opens up his paper and he hears him say kind of to himself but out loud we're we're going home from the hospital their mother just died and i i think it's the way they're handling it and here's the man holding the paper he thought he knew the score he thought he understood and he realized he was clueless and so we have to be we have to be slow to judge there's a verse that says judge nothing before the time paul tells us that i don't know what all that means but i'll tell you what it means to me the older i get i'm not quick to judge stuff until i have to when i'm called upon and i have to make now we're creatures of judd we we're making judgments all the time we look at eggs and we say i wish that was that way in this we do all that we're preachers but but you know what i'm talking about so i've seen men dealing with problems and i've lived long enough to know there's a lot about that i probably have no idea what all he has to deal with it's easy to make a quick observation but god only knows what he's really dealing with we have to be careful so i i'm i'm not i don't want to judge nothing before the time amen and sometimes there are situations and i know it's the old adage but it's like it's like the men the blind man from india and and they'd never been familiar with an elephant and and so they said describe go up and describe this elephant and one gets a hold of a leg and says ah an elephant is like a tree and another one's got a hold of the trunk oh no no no an elephant's like a snake and the other one's got a tusk no no no the elephant is like a spear and another's got a hold of the tail and says oh no he's like a little whip and they go around they get all this stuff and they don't see the whole picture this is why roger kipling said i keep six honest serving men they taught me all i knew their names are what and why and when and how and where and who sometimes it's good to know the score before you think you know the score before we get our opinion set in concrete now there's a welsh saying that says there are three things that only god knows the beginning of things the cause of things and the end of things thomas alva edison said we do not know one millionth of one percent about anything and when he said that he was the greatest inventor in america at that time he never dreamed of the world we'd be living in beyond what he could perceive so how we perceive things is is powerful first john 3 16 says hereby perceive we the love of god okay that he laid down his life for us and uh there's really something it was it made mention today i believe i believe it was you brother fraser but how read us thou it's a deal because here's the bible and how we read something is huge and and there's things that i have read for years and years and years and it's about 25 years ago now that i i read a verse that i'd read for 20 years i've been this april i'll be in church 50 years and so i read and i i would struggle about about that god would really love me and uh i believed he did but i knew where i came from and anyway and one day i read john 15 9 jesus is looking at his disciples and he said as the father hath loved me well let's just stop there how did the father love the son i think i've done this here but think with me god has no flesh he has no blood he's eternal he cannot die he tempts no man he cannot be tempted and this god loved us so much he overshadowed a virgin and from her womb unto us a child is born and a son is given and his name shall be called wonderful counselor the mighty god the everlasting father first corinthians 5 19 to it god was in christ reconciling the world unto himself he was in the world and the world was made by him without controversy great is the mystery of godliness god was manifest in the flesh so how how much how deep how profound did the spirit love the flesh the father the son in whom he dwelt the fullness of the godhead bodily amen the divinity for the humanity how fathomless is that love he said as the father hath loved me so love by thee that'll blow you over i'll read us though i believe he said what he meant i believe he meant what he said it's i got a finite mind and that's hard to but he said it and i believe it and it changed something seminal in me but i kept reading and then i hit verse 12 and i hit a brick wall because verse 12 said so i give you a new commandment love one another as i have loved you and that's where i said whoa i said god i love my wife i love my kids i have no personally i could be wrong i mean but i don't think i'd have a problem dying for any of them but to say that i love them as the father hath loved me so love i thee i i don't i don't know and that's my nearest closest kin my dearest family and then i have extended family and then and then i've got friends and then there's people in church and and and and some folks are more enjoyable to be with than others and so i meant for next 20 years i did not know what to do with verse 12. honestly i just said god i don't know what to do with that i mean i i don't know and then here relative releasing you know the older you get you say the other day well the other day can be everything from last week to five years so but a while back i was reading it again and i got it it was as plain as the nose on my face i was missing it as the father hath loved me so love i thee larry booker so i'm gonna give you a commandment you love one another as i've loved you well how does he love larry booker duh he loves me in spite of me he loves me in spite of me in spite of my idiosyncrasies in spite of my follies in spite of of my misconceptions in spite of foot and mouth disease and all kinds of stuff but he loves me he still loves me he said well if i love you larry in spite of you why don't you love your brother inside in spite of them that's exactly what he's talking about i love you in spite of you well guess what you need to love one another in spite of one another and i got it i got it do i get an a on a report card i'm not sure i hope so but this i do know people's perceptions are big i'm i'm actually a little bit closer than i'm not i'm not calling up the musicians yet so but i'm thinking about it okay i'll tell you how big a deal this is paul understood it second corinthians 2 5 2 15 and 16 for we are unto god a sweet savor of christ and then that are saved and in them that perish to the one with the savior of death and to death and to the other we're the savior of life and to life and who is sufficient for these things and one puts it this way taylor says as far as god is concerned there is a sweet wholesome fragrance in our lives it's the fragrance of christ within us an aroma an aroma both to the saved and the unsaved all around us to those who are not being saved how often we seem a fearful smell of death and doom that's why you walk into the office you walk into some places and people just that's the church guy and they just you go into a house of saints and there's or or a sick room where they're sinners and maybe backsliders or something and you come in into some they're just oh pastor and they're so happy and others it's like hi he's here i wonder how long he's going to be here if he gets out of here to somewhere the aroma of death and to death but of people that are saved amen we are a life but while those who know christ we are a life-giving perfume who is adequate for such a task i'm going to drop a little question in here right now how does your preacher smell the way your preacher smells to you to me screams a whole lot about you you say my pastor's not perfect well i know you've waited a long time for this get all your cameras out because we're the only perfect preachers on earth right here you better get a picture god chose men with their infirmities why to help us because we all got infirmities that's why that's why amen so how we see things you can get something lodged in your head that can that can rob you that can steal from you there's somebody we know brother mark's you're familiar you probably know this man personally but a friend of mine's pastor and a man he started noticing he would show up late and then he'd leave early show up late leave early show up late leave early could never get a hold of him he started noticing tithe checks were being placed in the offering and there was no a name he couldn't figure and he figured it must it has to be this man for this this this time he was the only one he had to be this man so pain ties checks but he come come late leave early come late leave early finally one day he said let's all stand let's all shake hands and be friendly and he made a beeline back there and the guy said well you caught me didn't you he said well it did he said listen i'm just let me just come to church don't mess with me don't mess with me he said i'm paying my tithe just don't mess with me i can't be saved anyway just let it go so that began the long long long process to where finally after many many many many conversations where he found out the guy said here's the deal he said there is a man he's a preacher i hate him i hate his guts said verbiage to the equivalent if he was on fire i would not spit on him and then he finally told him why he hated him so much because there was a young preacher in a church he named him and said he was going to marry my sister they were engaged and said an old preacher went to that young preacher and told a bunch of lies about my sister and said don't you marry her she's no good for you and the old man wasn't even his pastor but he said the kid believed it and he broke up with my sister broke her heart after a while she backslid she stayed backslid she died backslid and i will never forgive i will never forgive so that led to a scene in the office of the pastor working with him he finally came to the place they were standing in the office he was holding his hands and he said you're going to call that preacher's name tom smith how's that you're going to call tom smith's name and when you say it you're going to say in jesus name tom smith i forgive you he said he's holding the man's hand the man was shaking the man was trembling the man was sweating the man was sweating he had tears in his eyes he was fighting it fighting it he said tom smith i i i forgive you and when he said it he fell he crumbled like the life had went out of him and when he hit the floor not i mean to be gross he vomited urinated and defecated at the same time he was so full of bitterness and he laid there sobbing and the pastor fell over him praying sobbing weeping until after a while the guy began speaking in tongues well it just so happened the old preacher had just recently died so he couldn't call him to tell him he was sorry so the next best thing was to call the young man that was now an older man this is years ago the older man is a very close he's older than me the boy that broke up one of my very dear friends so he called him on the phone pastor sitting there speaker going he knew it i've got to go through all of it i can't i can't i can't apologize to tom smith so i'm going to try and make it right with you for what happened and when he got done my pastor friend said um i appreciate the call more than you can imagine for your sake obviously i don't know how to tell you this but none of that ever happened little pastor never said one word to me one time anytime about your sister nobody ever spoke bad to me about your sister he said i was in deep deep deep prayer one night and god came into my room and he very kindly sweetly said she's not the one i have for you he said i told your sister that i i tried to be as gentle as i could no human ever talked to me and god didn't say nothing bad about your sister and when they hung up the phone it had happened 25 years before and the man looked at our friend and said i have thrown completely away 25 years of my life and he never got over that he never got over the fact he threw away 25 years and killed a man i didn't know that i knew he wasn't in church apparently not do you understand how powerful perceptions and misconceptions we've got to make sure folks we're in the end of the end time we got to get it right now it's going to get better musicians come just to let you know just to let you know real quickly in papua new guinea there's a tribal people who cannot they do not differentiate between the colors green and blue they have one word for both blue and green and they can't tell the difference you put the colors before them but they have two words for the color yellow and you can put you can take a piece of yellow paper and cut it rip it in two put it up and then say well this one is this and this one is that two words for it and they'll see them different so anthropologists amen have looked at this and hypothesized that it's not it's not dna they said their vocabulary has through process of time changed the way their brain works rather than their vocabulary changed how they view things and i'm telling you our vocabulary can change the way we view them and i'll take it a step further very very quickly is is you get you get into uh quantum physics to which i can't think of his name but he was the father of quantum physics he got he got the nobel prize in it but anyway he said i wish i'd never even heard it the word but when they break down the atom the atom they get to a certain point they call quarks and then they and they would say a scientific field would say they're other scientists would say no they're not they're particles they're waves of particles and the guy that got the nobel prize prize he was on his he just got married he was about to start his honeymoon he told his wife wait here he didn't come back for two weeks he wrote the paper that got him the nobel prize and he then he said what happens is how you see a cork if in your mind you say it's a particle it acts just like a particle but if in your mind you say it's a wave it will act just like a wave it's the mystery of quantum physics they say how you look at it depends on what it does well i'm going to tell you something how we look at people sometimes determines and i'll take it a step further bring the chair back matthew how we view ourselves can affect things don't play yet but you're giving us hope you're helping us collegiate study psychology department volunteers they come in one at a time throwing nobody else second floor looking down trees sidewalk and a park bench facing another park bench over on this side of park bench facing another there the volunteer would sit down and somebody would come in a makeup artist that would put a scar with makeup on their face when they would look at it in the mirror it looked like a hideous scar that's okay keep it like that that's a little hope little scar he'd look good and then they would say okay you're gonna go down you're gonna sit on that bench you're gonna sit there right there you're gonna sit in the middle nobody will sit next to you eventually a student will come and sit across from you when they sit across from you you have legal pad and you start up a conversation and they in the course of the conversation you write down the reactions that these people have to you in your scar okay and then look at and they say no just he's going to touch it up just a little bit so he touch it up just a little bit and then they would walk him they would walk him down the stairs nobody's seeing nobody take him to the door go straight to the bench they would sit down with their scar and their paper eventually someone would come sit down a fellow student how are you fine beautiful day yes and they would get a conversation going and then they would come back the person wouldn't hardly look at me in the eyes no doubt the scar i noticed they at times they would be staring at my cheek and then they would avert their eyes and go back to mine and all kinds of things they were very quiet they were hesitant all of the reactions and everybody that went down there came back with their report of how when they get done they'd read they'd read the report and they'd talk about it and they'd say okay they said now we want and then they would look in the mirror and there was no scar because when the makeup artist said i'm going to do one little touch-up that thing would come off that quick there was no scar the scar was in their mind their scar was the way they saw themself and they judged all other reactions on how they thought they appeared and there can be emotional scars and people things that happen can i tell you something folks we need to be a kind good people you don't know the load folks are carrying [Music] and there's a lot of people they don't understand theology and we could go through did you know that 40 years ago the average american 40 years ago the average american had as much understanding about the bible as the average 12 year old well how much do you think they know about the bible today and we started genesis and it's unless there's some kind of a denominator that is that paid some attention my point is but everybody understands the language of love everybody understands the language of patience everybody understands the language of caring whether they live or die amen i'm closing with this story i'm done i got i got many pages left but i've drug it up there was a first year teacher i could tell you stories i remember a lady that came she was young fresh out of college i was in my ninth grade year and she came to our school she was so idealistic oh that poor thing i got i got bad swats over the way i treated her anyway with this teacher she goes well there was a group of kids they'd been trouble nobody wanted them in their class they were they were characters they were they were just the the terms like they're loserville man i don't want them in my class i had them last year i don't want it and so they got them all in a class that they would be taught all these subjects by one lamb led to the slaughter and it was this first-year teacher and so she's going through their and she sees she sees grades and problems but she catches something [Music] she catches something else and she's looking she's looking and the highest percentage they had this whoa so she goes to class the first day and they're sitting there and she stands there and says i don't know why i've been honored to teach you i don't know why they chose me it's my first year but i promise you i'm gonna do my and we're going to go places this year together it's going to be good and we'll all look back and say this was a great year all right time goes on she spends the time spends i know this is possible i'm sorry the principle of our christian school i won't bore you with a long deal she went to college went to university she got a master's short time she did so well her professors were so blown away they said you need to go for a doctorate go for it she got a doctorate in half the time seriously since that time she's given speeches at universities she has spoken from podiums with politicians from california she's not okay anyway and they kept telling her you need you need to teach university and she said no i'm not leaving our christian school i'm not leaving she told me in the beginning i will not leave it and she didn't finally they said well what about night classes just some night classes she said okay i'll do i'll do i'll do two nights a week but i really don't want to so she takes this job she don't care if she gets fired this is california you can't talk religion but you can answer any question they ask you and so this long this long story short she goes up to students johnny i know you're struggling i want you and i care about you i've been praying for you johnny i call your name in prayer i care about you and he looks at her [Music] are you a christian yes i am what kind are you apostolic pentecostal but what kind is that the lively kind [Music] students in her classes better grades better grades better grades she sometimes would kneel and pray by them in their seats i said all that to tell you this this is why this story i'm telling you outside this inner story i know in california university students grade their teachers if a teacher from any given student it's one to six nobody ever gets a six it's as rare as hens teeth somebody ever gets a five and it might be one kid in a class i've seen all the files i've seen him i've read the remarks if a kid if a teacher gets a number three the teachers are very happy the lowest number she's ever got is a five she gets sixes all the time they tenured her with the university of california system in two years tenured and she said i'm not quite quitting the christian school okay that's what the power of what we've got [Music] so here's these kids and these kids their grades start crawling up in the different categories and not everybody but they're coming up they're coming up and now parents are coming to her and saying we don't know what you're doing with our childhood tears in your eyes thank you thank you by the end of the year the vast majority of these kids what they're doing scholastically and in their life and how they're feeling about themselves it's a it's a different world and and in the in the rooms of the teachers go to relax they're talking about it and and and in and the principal assistant principal comes in one day and they're bragging and she goes i don't get it what are you all talking about let's all stand just you know i'm really serious [Music] i'm really serious she said i don't get it what's the big deal anybody could have done what i've done how could you lose with people like this and the assistant principal said what are you talking about she said it's in their almost all those kids are either genius or close to genius do what it's in [Music] how could i miss i'm dealing with brilliance he said let's go to the office he pulls out the show me looky here this guy do you understand 140 is genius 136 128 anything look at that walking through this kid after kid he said that's their locker numbers [Music] but she saw them different our kids we're all a bus route an older sister two little kids never did they pick him up at her house it's always at the grandma's house [Music] they never let him off at their house he was always at the grandma's house [Music] grandma well one day the grandma wasn't home they knocked and i said we'll take all the other kids home and they come back nobody there they said we cannot let you out on the street and we we've got we've got to go we're sorry we have to take you to your home okay and they gave him the address when they pulled up there the six kids on the bus left the bus workers all of them started crying the reason they didn't want nobody to see their home it was missing half the roof and their mama was leaning in the door or shriveled up meth addict [Music] i'm gonna tell you when we saw that oldest girl filled with the holy ghost baptized and a few months later singing in the choir [Music] we're in a world that's going to hades in a hand basket they need somebody to see them different the whole world's not loserville there are people out there they're scared and they don't know where to go we need to see ourselves the way god sees us we're the church of the living god we're bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh we've got the words of this life and do you know what it means tell somebody i love you buddy i care about you i believe in you come on we're gonna make it [Music] our hour and people and they're not happy with their denominal churches [Music] and a lot of them are good people and they're going down and they know it it's our hour to be the church of jesus christ to love like he loves reach like he reaches go where he goes come on come on it's our hour teach teach teach let people know come on come on it's our hour so i'm done if there's anybody that says god help me to see what you want me to see help me to feel what you want me to feel help me to understand like you want me to understand help me to get it like you want me to get it i want to be used in this last [Music] maybe you want to come down you can kneel and lift your hands and say god i'm making myself available i want you to have your way in my world so you can have your way in this world come on mama come on daddy come on young lady come on young man god wants to use you in this thing [Music] but you [Music] he loves this world he's got souls he's laying his hand on even as we pray [Music] you can't pay you watch [Music] it that's it me on that's it god's here to help us god's here to help us [Music] [Applause] [Music] lives again [Music] and i'm coming alive with joy and destiny [Music] [Music] i am [Music] you watch me [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] i see [Music] beautiful [Applause] [Music] mercy [Music] is [Music] [Applause] [Music] i am [Music] [Music] my [Music] is [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] i'm [Music]
