Adversity and Perfection by Larry Booker

[Music] I believe that there are some keys to getting prayers answered in the spirit I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt if you are tired of prayers being unanswered you need to pay attention so what I'm preaching to you tonight because I'm gonna give you something that gives you a key on how to get prayers answered from God there was a very powerful prophet that lived back in the 50s and 60s died way too young his name was verbal beam he was a very powerful man of God he was a man of Prayer he was a powerful man of Prayer he said there were two types of prayers that God answers he said there are two types of praying that will get God's attention he said the first type of prayer that God answers is a memorial prayer it's something that you pray about over and over and over and then God answers it he said like Cornelius when he prayed so many times that's the age of the Lord said your prayer and your giving has come up as a memorial before God he said it was like this he said if a man wanted to buy a suit but could not afford the suit he would go into the suit store with the money he had and put the suit on layaway with the funds that he had next time he got paid he would put some more funds down on the suit he would not leave with the suit he would leave without the suit each time he went in to make a payment but the more payments he made on the suits when he could make them there would be come a day when he would finally pay off the suit and when the last payment was made he could take what he had been paying for home with him he said that's how it is in your prayer life you can be praying about something over and over and over and not take the answer home if you keep praying and you keep believing there's gonna come a day when you'd bring the answer home with you because you've paid it in hallelujah Jesus we thank you for your wonderful presence thank you Lord for your goodness in your grace Jesus Jesus we love you we love you we love you we love you we love you God hallelujah whoa thank you lord thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you lord thank you Lord for your goodness your presence Jesus hallelujah I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you Donna whoa hallelujah my gracious God amen it's good to be in the house of the Lord tonight with all these wonderful wonderful people and with this wonderful wonderful comedy man it really doesn't matter how wonderful you are if God's not here we don't want to be together hallelujah but when he comes on the scene oh he's what makes this thing work he's what makes it make sense he is what makes it worthwhile hallelujah I don't want to go through a day of service or a moment without my God with me hallelujah I tried it for 19 years and it was a miserable state of affairs but he came on the scene and by His mercy and grace we've been with him ever since hallelujah I was good to be in Tyler Texas and celebrating this 30th anniversary service of this church and now of course pastored by brothers origin is wonderful life and and God bless what God is doing here in this church were really really really thankful and appreciative ministering brethren that are here and great saints of God how many indeed want the perfect will of God tonight well I do too and I don't want to miss it hallelujah so I'm going to ask you to help me pray you say brother Booker we've got this far into service and you don't know that's exactly right praise God and we can't afford to miss it so we want the perfect direction of God and I make no bones about asking in front so let's ask out 16 [Music] brother Littlefield would you come help read tonight I need a couple of readers use you and brothers or both hallelujah Matthew 16 and also in Matthew 26 it's a good pastor brothers Bible I love you thank God I don't take my Bible to very many meetings that sounds horrible but I leave them I get to talking to people one thing leads to another them 25 miles down the road and I remember my Bible so anyway god bless you cause she passed her in this town so you don't have to go all that far if you if you forget it hallelujah well God is so great to us I'm going I was in between and both of them had to do with the devil and both of them in Wayne way or another had to do with the Lord kicking his brains out tell Olivia you really don't want thank you you think you do but you really know it may it may fund the first hour so I do want to begin reading Matthew chapter 16 verse number 21 Matthew 16 verse number 21 from that time forth began Jesus to show unto his disciples how that he must go into Jerusalem and obviously must suffer many things of the elders chief priests and scribes and be killed and be raised again the third day then Peter took him and began to rebuke him saying be it far from the Lord this shall not be unto thee but he turned and said unto Peter get thee behind me Satan for thou art an offence unto me for thou savourest not the things that can be of God but those that be of men and then in Matthew chapter 26 beginning with verse 48 wrong down the road a little farther now let's start at verse 47 let's start at verse 46 let's not do Rhys let us be going behold he is at hand that does betray me and while he gets fake look Judas one of 12 came and with him a great multitude with swords and staves from the chief priests and elders of the people now he that betrayed him gave them a sign saying whomsoever I shall kiss the same as he hold him fast forthwith he came to Jesus and said hail master and kissed him jesus said unto Him friend where art thou come and came they laid hands on Jesus and took him behold one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest and smoked off his ear let's ask that our wonderful God that is so wise and loves us so much and knows us so well would minister in this house tonight Lord Jesus we are utterly mindful of you and God we are absolutely mindful of our need of you every day in every way in our hearts and souls spirits God families minister graciously and thoroughly and powerfully in the mighty holy wondrous name of Jesus in end a man a manly man god bless you so much you may be seated praise the Lord I don't think that I really have to open remarks with this statement but nonetheless I think will number one anniversary services are very very special commemorative times and times of great hope and faith where we look over the past of God's great mercy and then we scanner eyes down the future roads into looking with great expectation of the things that God has for us I don't know there's never been a handbook written on how to preach anniversary surfaces all I know to do is seriously try to obey the holy ghost and leave it all in the hands of God amen secondly I'd like to state that I am a very firm gerrant and believer in revival I believe we are living in days of tremendous and paralleled revival especially when you look at the world scope of things there are things happening in our generation that have never happened in any previous generation yay that even surpass what took place in the book of Acts and that's something but it's happening it really is happening and with that in some realms I believe we're going to see greater fulfillment in other realms of the book of Acts by way of signs and wonders and glorious miraculous healings amen and I believe that America is experiencing revival but I believe that we will see more that is not to say that Jesus could not come tonight nor does that say that I don't want him to come tonight if he's taken my vote I'd like him to come before I get into this message very far praise God but be all that as it may I am a believer that revival is at hand and as we press forward we will see greater and greater in gathering of souls that is not to say that the devil has rolled over and is dead and gone and we are in the Millennium as some fools believe amen can I tell you that he is alive and well the devil is not bound if he is he's got a very good clone running around somewhere hallelujah and he is not about to give up revelation 12:12 tells us woe to the inhabitants of the earth but the devil has come down having great wrath knowing that he hath but a short time he can read the signs at the end time as well as we and the difference however is that as far as a saint of God is concerned you hear me at best he's like a mad dog on a chain thank God I don't look I don't want to mess with him I don't want to stir him up I don't particularly want to take him on I just you know it's like you leave me alone I'll leave you alone hallelujah but I do want to do the will of God and in the process of doing the will of God that does stir him up and that doesn't mean he doesn't want to bite me invite you and bite all of us altogether but thank God he's on a chain hallelujah he can go only as far as God left it there has to be somewhere that we get a revelation Amen that if God be for us who can be against us this is the reason we've got to walk in the spirit hallelujah we trying to take him on on a road he'll twist us up like a pretzel but brother I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me hallelujah if he is with me it doesn't matter who or what is against me or you Russ hallelujah amen so I'm a believer in revival but I also know that in these last days we do need to be walkers that walk circumspectly amen understanding that these are evil names these are last days they are glorious things but part of the reason is is that the darker it gets the brighter the light shines hallelujah a little bit Amen these lights I appreciate them if we shut them off we'd be sitting in the dark that's not true in the daytime not in this auditorium how luca's are other light sources but the darker it gets outside the moon the brighter these lights have appearance to us the darker it gets in this world the brighter will be the light of the Church of Jesus Christ hallelujah amen we are Jesus said the light of the world spoken of us the Bible also states that we are bone of his bone and his pledge Amen if you're looking for Jesus Christ in the world today it's all around you amen this is the body of Christ it is him and then living and dwelling walking within us we are the light of the world because he was the light of the world but he told his disciples be of good cheer Amen he's in his with you shall be in you praise God whoo it's one thing to walk with him and talk with him amen on the roads of hills of Galilee but brother if I had to choose let him live in my heart let him live in my soul let him live in my mind let him live in my spirit hallelujah Harlem amen he was that light the tree light that lighteth every man that cometh into the world now we have read of thee warning and then closing moments of his life in his flesh he tried to tell the disciples that it was going to happen he's been working with those boys for three and a half years now when he found them they were there mending their nets he sent them out on a fishing excursion and they went to catch fish a great multitude of fish and the Bible said the nets break then he works with them he talks with them he teaches them here approves and rebukes and exhorts them for three and a half years they see his miracles his Sciences wonders at the close of that he's gone through Gethsemane he's gone to Gulf Java he's gone to the grave but thank God he's gone to hell and he rose again to walk again in glory hallelujah now he's on the seashore they're out fishing again all night and again taking nothing he says cast out your net on the right side they do and they enclose a great multitude of fish and the Bible says yet for all that the net break not the first time the Nets were snapping in public but he worked with him he taught he led him he guided him he did a lot of mending of nets and in type now the net does not break there is no wasted time in any service hallelujah when we work on the nets because brother when revival comes the pressure gets on the net and the first time everywhere the net popped was where the net was the weakest God whatever weak part in my heart my mind my soul the church I pastored his church your entire church God work on it work on it work on it cuz revivals here and the Bible's coming and we don't need a man fish escaping because of weak spots in the net hallelujah hallelujah he now he was in the process of perfecting them and the same God is in the process of perfecting us he gave many things for the perfection of the Saints Amen Ephesians 4:11 God send it on high he led captivity captive and he gave gifts unto man I know that the listing proceeds to give us is not all inconclusive of the gifts that he gave to the church but chief of the gifts that he gave was apostles prophets pastors and teachers why did he give them for the perfecting of the Saints and that if you please for the work of the ministry for the edifying building of strengthening of the body of Christ so we all come to the unity of the faith and the nights of the Son of God unto a perfect man everybody say perfect unto a perfect man unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ ooh I want to fulfill it I went to church in a pastor fulfilling I want this too I want all churches to fulfill it God wants it to be fulfilled this perfecting business where we come to the fullness of measure of the stature of Christ but that is not all that he gave for the perfecting of the Saints here he is he is God manifest in the flesh he was in the world and the world was made by him you have to understand when he saw Jesus Christ you saw a very unique individual he didn't just walk on the world he made the world that he walked on hallelujah in that manuela follow the fullness of the Godhead bodily Colossians 2:9 hallelujah amen Colossians 1:19 it pleased the father that in him should a fullness Brown second Corinthians nineteen do it to it God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself Isaiah 43 and eleven I even I am the Lord even I am Jehovah and decide me there is no say Amen hallelujah so if you're going to be saved he said in chapter 45 look unto me all ye ends of the earth and be safe for I am God and there is none else and this God was in chapter 42 he would not give his glory to another it was this guy that could not believe that could not die that could not shed blood for he had no none to shed it was this guy he was a spirit and we're all baptized by one spirit into one body because here o Israel the Lord our God is one Lord this one God who is a spirit overshadowed Mary and in her womb a son began to be formed brother and when he was born in the world the Bible said he was in the world and the world was made by him God that couldn't die bleed or be tempted roll himself in human flesh where he could be in all points tempted like as we are yet without sin he that had no blood now had blood to shed he that cannot die figured out a way he cooked through the auspices of that body taste death for everything and yet even this man have a go through a process of perfection he really did a man he had a fulfilling call to do and it wasn't over until it was over if there was no point in tempting him because he could not succumb to temptation the whole thing's a farce hallelujah forty days a night fasting in the wilderness and the devil coming with great temptation means nothing if there wasn't the possibility that that humanity could succumb amen because God a militant omniscient God said when I come I will make myself utterly vulnerable in order to win mankind back the first man Adam lost this through disobedience I will robe myself in human flesh the second man Adam and I will win it back through obedience hallelujah amen and so there he was it behooves him to be made like unto his brethren that he could be in all points tempted like as we are yet thank God without sin hallelujah so now he's in the process he's got to fulfill completely the will the spirit that's in him the flesh has got to do the will of the Spirit the humanity has got to do the will of the divinity now he's beginning to inform his disciples that it's not going to be well in a few days it's going to get pretty rough I want you to be a good cheer I'm going to overcome but I'm going to be delivered into the hands of wicked men they're going to take me in Jerusalem and I'm going to be crucified understanding therefore jaws hanging rise why but being good cheer I'm going to rise again in three days that's as far as the gun Simon Peter steps up and says Lord far be it from thee if you think we're going to stand aside and let anybody do anything like that to you you've got another thing coming it will never be now you know if you're coming after you with a pole a bucket of hot tar and a sack of feathers Simon Peters the kind of guy you want next to you okay but he's not the kind of guy that Jesus wanted next to him when Simon said this out of honest heart a desirous of holistic heart he did well nobody touching his Lord he didn't want nobody touching his master this will never do we will rise up and fight for you Jesus turned his back and said get thee behind me Satan you are an offence unto me because you don't savor the things that be of God but you're savoring the things that be of men and I can only imagine Simon what I do now this is really something some might say a bottle Mahela reacted so hot because you have to understand what Simon was saying to him was as big a temptation as anything Satan offered in the wilderness there's a way out you just let us be your bodyguards you just let us preserve you you just let us protect you you just let us keep you from this fate that you feel like is going to overcome you and it will never come to pass we're here we'll go to prison we'll die with you we'll do whatever we've got to do but Jesus understood boys you get behind me now I'm never going to be perfected if you have your way when he's in the garden Simon is there amen andrew is there John is that the others of mingled and made the way to this clothes section and now they see another disciple come his name is Judas Iscariot he's got men withing and they're not children that listen to the teachings of Jesus they are members of the Sanhedrin army there they're military police force now they've come with torches Jesus is standing he says the hand of him that betrays me is here the man comes he kisses Jesus on the cheek and Jesus doesn't call him Satan though he is full of the devil he is possessed of the devil he calls him friend friend we're fourth cup and Simon hears this wait a minute what something wrong with this picture I tell him I'm not going to let nobody touch him and he calls me the devil and this devil comes to betray him and he calls him friend now this takes us all the way back to Isaiah 55 my thoughts are not your thoughts and my ways are not your ways as high as the heavens are above the earth so are my thoughts and my ways above your thoughts and your ways this takes us into the book of Romans chapter 8 where the carnal mind is not subject to the laws of God neither indeed can it be folks can I tell you something without the Spirit of God and that in good dosage we're not going to understand what's going on in our lives we're not going to understand things that happen to us things that are taking place in the kingdom and we won't understand Gethsemane we won't understand the pan we won't understand Peters rebuke they made it calling Judas friend we're not going to understand the good times in our life or the bad times in our life if we don't some where they didn't get a heart mind soul spirit in God and I'm lying in the book and say God your ways are not my ways your thoughts are not my thoughts I want you to do your will in my life I don't care if I never understand what's going on [Applause] hallelujah there are more ways of perfection than just apostles prophets evangelists pastors and teachers I'm about to be perfected boys it's coming to a close but I'm sorry Simon it's not going to be you're pulling out your sword and cutting off Malchus is here that's going to perfect me it's absolute total adversity so put your sword up into a chief I told you before that's satanic don't try to defend me he picks up the ear he puts it on the man's head here's Simon I told him I'd fight for you I'm rebuked again he's calling Judas friend he's healing the guys here I wish I got his head and anyone's off it's really strange that Jesus could operate in this realm you know there is a very basic primal biological force in all of us it is one of the strongest instinctual things that were born and it's called self-preservation self-preservation there are only two fears you know more take you up on the warm family there's only two fears that man is really Bournemouth instinctually one is loud noises that's why for babies sound asleep or if an adult is erm asleep and then all of a sudden paramount of the blue because we are instinctually born with loud noises fear of loud noises the the second thing that we are instinctually born with is a fear of falling a fear of falling you can be a bane I lift a little toddler knee and they learn that he's throwing them up in the air and he's going to catch them that's different but until they look they have to learn that because instinctually there's something when you feel yourself falling there's a fear that comes only to that you're born with all other fears a men are developed they are required one of the most primal basic instincts is self-preservation it is in born in us I don't want to die I don't want to die and we have learned and we've all lived long enough to understand there's more than one way to die hallelujah I read one time and I don't obviously buy into human philosophies they meant doctrines of devils but I did do a study one time of major religions of the world and one of the interesting things that the Hindus teach that I did find exception to but but it was hard for a while was that whenever disappointment is experienced by a human being there is one reason they feel a sense of disappointment that is their ego has been hurt I found the exception thank God and that is sometimes it can be somebody that we love very dearly Fran family saint of God in the church that failed God that has nothing to do with our ego it just hurts it's a very horrible disappointment has nothing to do with human ego but having said that since the day I read that anytime I suffer disappointment and hurt I look at it as logically as cold-blooded Lee as I can and I say Larry Booker why does this hurt you and nine times out of ten brother it's because my Eagles been bruised my ego and when I can stop and recognize that that is them then I must say God all I can say is you must have known I needed that I needed that I'm not going to be perfected you are not going to be perfected the church is not going to be perfected by catering to our egos hallelujah there's got to be something that rises up above beyond this natural instinct of self-preservation for preserving our lives and preserving our wills and preserving our ways and preserving our comforts amen there's got to be something somewhere that says gal what comes or goes live die sink or swim I'm in your hands I walked with you I'm talking with you I'm trusting you amen it is thank God that you want to bring into my life that will bring forth perfection God do it God bring it the past God have your way God I will not my will be done if I have to pray in a garden tell us what is it were great drops of blood so be it not my will but thy will be done self-preservation was the strongest instinct in Jesus that he had to overcome it is possible let this cup pass from me if it's possible any way possible let this cup pass for me and I'm just going to throw this away when Simon came and said it's possible and he kept the ear off he put the sword back into the sheaf you live by that to that man and he said don't you know that I can right now come twelve legions of angels who told me where did he get that information why not six why not 24 we're not 124 why 12 Jesus said whatsoever I speak I speak what I'm showed now if he couldn't call him he was lying if he could call him he knew he could go if he knew he could call him who told him he could call him when he was praying if it be possible let this cup pass from me somewhere in that timeframe you knew you can get out of this you have the innocent blood they can't do this to you you're the only innocent that has ever lived for your sake you could stop it about 12 legions but the flesh that loves self-preservation said nevertheless not my will but thy will be done and that right there was the number one greatest trial that Jesus ever faced he didn't sweat great drops of blood in the wilderness brother you hear me our greatest trials and temptations are to protect the soul flesh and especially when we know we've got the right to do somewhere I'm just throwing this out to you guys you have to connect about yourself God not my will but thy will be done if this is what I need amen for me to be perfected then whatever is coming my way whatever is selling me out whatever put me through the meat grinder whatever is trying to destroy me if it will be for my protection you're my friend and whatever we're trying to stop it whatever we try to interfere whatever we'll try to preserve whatever we're trying to perfect get thee behind me you're my enemy the bottom line is not the creature comforts of life the bottom line is doing the perfect little God that doesn't mean we're a bunch of music is looking for people to beat us up they may I understand them but somewhere in the spirit realm god help us to catch a revelation that a whole lot of things that come our way they're for our benefit we whine growling screaming who they are but is for ability to Matthew chapter 18 verse number 6 3 but whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me understand somebody's gonna hurt us somebody's going to do a study whosoever shall offend any one of these little ones it would be better for him that a millstone God's not going to pin a medal on Judas God's not going to pat him on the back say well done thou good and faithful devil the man was messed up the man was twisted as a corkscrew the man was lost the man was devil possessed 10m so he said anybody that fulfills that role it would be better for them that a millstone was tied about their net and they were cast into the nether most part of the sea what whoa into the world because of the things long to the world because of offenses or it must needs be that offenses come get what but it must needs be that offenses come it must needs be it's going to happen it must happen it must needs to happen that offenses come but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh to them that the devil would use to bring it to pass but all I know is whoever does it however it's done if you'll love him and walk with him all things work to the good to them that love God who are the called according to his purpose and all of these things hallelujah are not against us they're for us if we walk with Him and talk with him and hang on with him hallelujah in chapter 26 read verse 24 we're dealing with Judas Iscariot in particular the Son of Man goeth the son of man is going as it is written and it is written the scripture declares what would happen to me it must needs be fulfilled the son of man is going as it is written but woe unto that man on to that man world on to Judith by whom the Son of Man is betrayed it had been good for that man if he had not been born yes it'd been better if you'd never saw daylight than to do what you're going to do but even at that hallelujah this God this mighty God this glorious God this brilliant God this keeping God this loving God this god of grace is God of compassion this God of truth is God of destiny this God that is the author and the finisher of our faith hallelujah will walk with us day through the valley of the shadow of death he will work all things to our good to a will be to the one that the devil would use a men to bring offense to us but will a man be to the child of God that doesn't stay with God and say for me and my house lived on sink or swim I understand it or not I'm gonna live for God I'm staying in there I'm hanging in there I'm going on I'm kind of not on the end of my rope I'm not letting go I'm gonna live for God in the daytime I'm gonna live for him in the better I want to live for him when everybody's Pat me on the back I'm gonna live for you but everybody started me in the back I want to live for God when they love me I'll never go to Haiti but I'm living for God that stopped an actor and God gave me the revelation that anything that tries to stop me get thee behind me Satan and even if it's a devil himself doing ok friend you meant for evil but God means it for God his ministry the perfect fulfillment of his ministry would have never taken place if Peter would have had his way and if Judas would not have had his way the success of his ministry depended on opposition the success of his ministry hinged on opposition it depended on opposition it had to have opposition there was a bird in the South the islands that were found first by him cook in his travels others came and when they saw it they thought this bird literally had they've not seen it anywhere else on the face of the earth we know it today is the bird paradise all we ever sees the plants called that but where's bird bird paradise its feathers its beauty so delicate so understand behold but the bird of paradise is a strange creature it can only fly into the wind and they have to be more than just a soft balmy breeze it cannot fly unless it is flying into position its feathers are so fine that if it's ever startled in the flight and it goes with the breeze it cannot stay afloat and it falls and falters all I know about the Church of the Living God is that down through history it has flown its highest it's farthest its most glorious flights in the face of it appears this opposition hallelujah I'm not a doom soon and I'm not against air I don't know what all the future holds but I do know who hopes the future hallelujah and I know that if the Church of the Living God I don't care what secular humanism is doing I don't care what Bill Clinton is room I don't care what Congress is doing I don't care what the League of Nations is done I don't care a man what's going on in Europe rather if somewhere we can set our face towards God God will meet at the gun the Church of the Living God will go onward and upward and forward hills the glory and power and grandeur and light miracles revival of salvation hallelujah [Applause] Isaiah 54 no left 417 no weapon no weapon that is formed against me shall prosper is formed against you is going to prosper and every tongue that shall rise against the in judgment thou shall condemn now you didn't say my price no every time that shout-out shall rise since how old are you 17 I was 19 when I come to go I was a heathen here at uuuu for your girl I wasn't even okay Oh pan I thought my parents and everybody else to be excited I started living for God but you know what I don't never hardly ever called names of denominations not no one hurt nobody's feelings here my parents they had to bail me out of jail time and again I was on probation remember 15 till s21 our phones were tapped the police would follow me around through town I had games out looking for me for kicks we would go out and shoot cigarettes out of each other's mouths and tin cans off of each other's heads again so when I got saved I'm sure there was there was guardian angels that fell in the corners like the Browns finally and then those that were ministers to the heirs but then there would be of salvation I'm sure they were proud but even in this at home but my dad said son why didn't you make a good Baptist I said dad I tried that round you know all the routes I tried the only thing I know is when I was baptized in Jesus name and I was seem to get the Mahalo goth I had doctors try to help me I am lawyers writing happy I had policemen trying to help me good man psychologists and counselors started helping rather the only thing that ever happening but the born-again experience how I was lost in his blood there what is that I am but that's not the only thing that helped me through life as I looked back down the road I see experiences they stand out in my mind I'm telling you I wouldn't give you a million dollars for those experiences what they did me and how they change for better but I wouldn't take a million dollars to go through them again Nina I mean I've seen days are not no it ain't over we've had to wade through hell but I look back it was if there's anything in that Booker he's got a long ways to go the thing that helped make me mold me the greatest was adversity before I came to God I had a hair-trigger temper I mean he was mad people and 70 fights me and beating fights from the time has meant great year for graduated bloody brutal affairs I had a hair-trigger tumor find a place of repentance I'm baptized in the Californian Jesus name five nights later I received the Holy Ghost could get a job with a sheet rocker he's that though and he's mean as a snake he called me the butcher I would try to put up now and I need you to come through because the deadline is this week and we need an answer we need some peace we need a miracle and walk out that's there's no desperation there you're giving God the right facts but you're not giving God the heart behind the facts you're showing God I'm really not serious about this because a current prayer requires desperation it requires you to be I need an answer now I don't have 60 years to pray about this we need a miracle in our house that is desperation that's a current prayer and a current prayer God will hear and I want to show you something that that the Lord answers prayers while you're praying them I know that we've got God in this box that if I pray today he can come through by Thursday or he can come through by tomorrow he comes through
