but any any car people out there and they all love cars I I love cars I mean I've loved cars ever since I was a little kid my parents would buy me cars and then I would crash those cars into one another and you can never have too many cars like as I was growing up that that car prop that car deal probably turned into a car addiction right and so when I got my license at 16 my sister was you know she had her license she was about to go to college and my dad brought something that he bought a red Honda Accord come on somebody I mean a red Hyundai Excel not a court hunter for and that and that Hyundai was awesome I mean I put five stars rims on a Hyundai come on somebody shouldn't do that III built a homemade kicker box in the back with no amp so I had a big speaker but I have enough power to push it come on somebody I mean I used to love cars in that car obsession really it turned into an obsession and and I had the red Hyundai then after that I had a I had a white Acura Integra then I had a green Honda Passport then I had a black Honda Accord with 22s then I had a Ford Escort that I could drive just to just to work because I don't want to get my rims dirty on that Honda Accord and and then I had somebody in our my mom and dad's church gave me a Mercedes s-class and it was just broken down don't give anyone a broken-down gift that's really not a gift then I had a Mazda millenia it actually gave that to a family in our church and I had a blue Toyota Sequoia than a beige Honda Accord the thinner than a black Acura RL than a green GMC Yukon Denali then I had a white BMW 740il with 24 s on it come on somebody then I had another Honda Accord then I had an Infiniti then I had a GMC Acadia come on God went all the way back that's where you could broke you say he was broke right then I had an Infiniti m/45 then an Infiniti qx80 and now a Dodge Durango I've had 18 cars since I had my license and crazy thing is is I had this thing that every time I had one car I would see something I was never satisfied with what I have based on what I saw and so I ended up always getting a new car watch this before the payments but before the last car was paid off come on somebody and so what happened was is because I was impatient and because I would I would you know allow what I saw to to to drive me in vinta drive my desires I ended up upgrading what I didn't need to upgrade and what crazy thing that happened is after 18 cars of not being well 16 of never paying them off what happened was although I got rid of the first car I still had negative equity in the car that I have now right and so in this thought I had paid for something that I loved but it wasn't worth what I paid for the moment I took it off the lot in fact because I had to upgrade before it was time to upgrade this negative equity from come on somebody when I was 16 actually followed me all the way until I was 43 negative equity and I started thinking about our sexual relationships and what we have been involved with and how many sexual partners we have and some of us although we're married today you still are carrying negative equity from the first person that you slept with and and some of us are still carrying negative equity from the pornography that we and that we were watching all the way back then and some of us are still carrying negative equity from our X and negative equity from a one-night stand and negative equity from a hook-up and negative equity because you backed it up at the club and it aroused you and negative equity from somebody who may have touched you inappropriately and negative equity from your abuse situation and negative equity from the even the husband that or the wife that you used to be married to that aren't living anymore and we're in a new season but we have the weight of the last season because we had to upgrade because we were driven by our desires rather than our destiny somebody shout negative equity negative activity is having something that's worth must less now than what you paid for it and now on your new relationship you're wondering why it doesn't work out or your single relationship you're wondering why what this because of the negative equity so you find yourself continually upside down upside down some of us are in upside-down relationships some of us are in an upside-down marriage when you're trying to be all that you can be in your marriage now but you're upside-down because of the negative equity that you've carried the previous relationships that you have Genesis 2:15 through 17 where do we find this negative equity the sole tie it says this in the Lord God took man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend it and to keep it to tend it and to keep it and the Lord God commanded the man saying of every tree of the garden you may freely eat but the tree of good of knowledge and but the tree of good but the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat in the day that if you eat it you will surely die so we have to understand as we build this case about breaking soul ties we have to understand it we have to deal with the negative equity in our lives the negative equity when it comes to our hearts Adam and Eve had everything that they could ever want and ever need it they were completely satisfied until something happened they were satisfied with what they had until they focused on what they couldn't have you will be satisfied with what you have if you never focus on what you can't have in other words let me focus on what I got rather than focusing on what she or he is not so they don't end up focusing on something that I can never have and then it what happens is it starts to mess up what I have right now and so Adam and Eve had access to every Adam and Eve they were bosses in that God and Adam and Eve were were kings and queens in that garden until the enemy got them to take their attention off of what they have long enough to get you to desire what you could never have they were deceived by Satan and we talked about this week one that he is the father of lies they lost focus of what they had and indulged in what was forbidden because they had to have it the Bible says that after he's sinned in Romans 5:12 in the New Testament it says man this is why bad stuff happens the good people many people says a lot of bad stuff happen to good people because we are dealing still with the negative equity of Adam oh I'm teaching y'all right now the negative equity of Adam it says for when Adam sinned sin entered into the human race Adam's sin brought death so death spread come on somebody from everyone to everyone for everyone has sinned and so in other words that all of us are tied to the negative equity or the sins of the past sins of Adam and so what I got from this and I want to I want you to focus what I want you to take a picture of what I'm about to put up here the enemy will try to tempt you with what you can't have to get you to forfeit what you do have the enemy will try to tempt you with what you can't have to get you to forfeit what you do have now I will tell you this in in whether you're single or married if you're single he will try to get you right oh he will try to tempt you with what you can't have right and so that may be a sexual relationship prior to marriage to get you to forfeit what you do have your purity right and so if you're married the enemy will try to tempt you with another female another male pornography or whatever it is a strip club he will try to tempt you with what you can't have to get you to forfeit what you do have oneness with your spouse so this is the negative equity question that I have for all of us today what is tempting you sexually what did you have to have and once you bought it you realize that it wasn't which you gave up to get it let me say that again what did you have to have and once you bought it once you slept with it once you laid with it once you kissed it once you allowed it to enter you or you enter it you realize that it wasn't worth what you gave up to get it it's amazing to me that we will give up an eternity or we will give up a destiny for three minutes now this is not a message of condemnation I promise you this is a message of grace but you're gonna find conviction along the way because we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God so I'm talking to myself today but we are under God's grace because all of us are a little nasty come on so much if you nasty raise your hand come on won't let me bow here by myself [Applause] what is enticing you what is calling your name what is DMing you what is texting you what is keeping you up late at night what are you hiding from your spouse what are you going to the gym really for are you going to workout or are you going to watch it work out 1st Corinthians 10:13 says there isn't any temptation that you have experienced which is unusual for humans temptation is normal you don't have to touch just because you're tempted God who faithfully keeps his promises will not allow you to be tempted beyond your power to resist so everything is not the devil's fault everything the Bible says that you can be drawn away by your own evil desires and your own lust and so let's stop blaming pornography on the devil you nasty and you never dealt with it so you're staying up night because there's a soul there's a hole in your soul and you're trying to fill it with some body that's made up and airbrushed in and then and it ain't real and that ten thousand other men and women have already had and you want your wife to now play out your fantasy and she can't play out your fantasy because that was never intended for the marriage bed it says but you but when you are tempted he will also give you the ability to endure the temptation as a way of escape Matthew 26:41 says watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation the Spirit is willing but the body is weak years ago when we started our five elite our track and field program I remember all the kids my son my kids included would have Nintendo DS's come on somebody y'all remember the Nintendo DS phase and they all had out there had that phase and and in an innocent Nintendo DS phase like these DS's were babysitting our kids in the track and field stands while they were because we had to be there all day which give it up for five elite real quick they killing the game and I remember before this one track meet we had it was just I believed my son's birthday and he wanted a NBA 2k11 so this was in 2010 he won an NBA 2k11 that game was amazing and I remember him at this track meet playing this game at this track meet and I looked up in the stands all day they were playing it and so at the end of the track meet every parent would be like go get your game come on somebody we didn't we didn't waste the money because they would be trading and they would be you know sharing the games and so every single track me April if you remember this we would be like well where's your game where is your stuff where's your bag where is your shoes we're like how many y'all kids just never ever remember what they brought to a thing like half of it comes back home and I remember Jay and I said hey man where's your game he had his game but he didn't have NBA 2k11 and I said where is it and he says oh I traded it what what you mean he says ah trade it I did this this kid had some skittles now if you know my son skittles is his thing and and so I said what do you mean he I said I said you mean for the whole bag he said no just for a handful this is true story this is not made up this is a true story if you know my son you know this is a true story and such as what do you mean do you know how much that game cost that game was $50 and you traded that game for like five cent worth of skittles and he said yeah as I look back on that story as I prepared for this message two things were working in Jaden here's the two things Jaden traded something that wasn't his to trade and that's exactly what we do when we've got a have and we got a desire and we see it jiggle it and we see it in spandex and it's got six-pack abs and and it's not ours and what happens is is we don't realize that know ye not that your body is not yours it is a temple of the Holy Spirit and then what you end up doing is you end up trading your purity and trading your virtue and trading who you are come on somebody and you have no idea that that's not worth what you are you always give away your purity if you don't recognize that it's not yours and what it's worth to God why should I wait we're about to get married and and I know we're going to get married and and and it's next week so can't we just have sex now no because you're trading something that's not yours in other words that wife didn't she's not your wife she don't belong to you yet it's biblical the other thing that was working is he didn't understand the value of what he had I don't believe that we understand in this society and this culture the value of what we have I don't believe that we understand the value of your purpose and the value of your destiny and the value of your purity and the value of your testimony [Music] guess what you don't need to test something new to have a new testimony you just need to remember what God has already matter of fact can I get about 650 people to just remember for a second how God covers you and how God protected you and you slept with them but you don't got the disease and God kept you and God didn't put your stuff on the news oh come on somebody about Ted okay see see right here only the real sinners stand up and say my god I thank God for His grace and His mercy but I'm telling you I have not always been perfect and I thank God that he covered me 1st Corinthians 6:19 20 says don't you realize that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who lives in you and was giving you by God God gave you your body you do not belong to yourself for God bought you with a high price so you must honor it and not trade your body for skittles for a taste I just want a little taste is that that that your lips don't belong to you I just want a little feel I just wanted to back it up your hips don't belong to you your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit to understand the garden is what you have sexually Adam and Eve what did they have in the God and they had their innocence they had the blessings from God they had absolute value they had absolute truth they had absolute purity they had no shame they had a great marriage they had self-respect they had self-esteem they had God's perfect plan they had virginity they had everything that was good they had life they had access to God they had mr. Wright and mr. mrs. Wright they had a helper they had to help me but they were more focused on what they couldn't have rather than being focused on what they didn't have in other words let me say it this way they had they ended up with evil they ended up with perversion they ended up with a curse from God they ended up with a lie they ended up with impurity they ended up with shame they ended up with your plan not God's purpose they ended up with disrespect they ended up with sexual immorality ended up with damage to their relationship they ended up when come on baby mama drama baby daddy drama they ended up with death they ended up with hurt and pain come on one of their sons became a murderer many people are exchanging everything that's right for everything that's right now many people are exchanging what's valuable for what tastes good many people are exchanging their purity for what's perverted let me tell you something about sin sin will always take you further than where you want to go sin will always keep you longer than what you plan to stay and sin will always get kept cost you more than what you plan to pay let's make sure that that's on a second service screen because I know what's not out there but that we have to understand that there are some misconceptions about sex just because you didn't get her pregnant just because you didn't get pregnant doesn't mean that something wasn't released from you and something wasn't conceived in you sex is a physical act put that up there sex is a physical act with spiritual implications it is a physical act take a picture with spiritual implications the physical implications are bad reputation a bad history an STD awkwardness when you bump into them later in the future unplanned children dent a notch in somebody's bed post and to pretend to prohibit that from happening physically you have contraception come on somebody a condom whatever you gonna use and now we think because we use the condom that everything is good I didn't get an ST D as a sexually transmitted disease but I got an STD a sexually transmitted demon I didn't get a disease but I got a demon cuz just because I body fluids weren't exchanged spirits were exchanged the spiritual implications of sex as a soul tie somebody shalt soul time the first time that we see soul tire is in Genesis the Bible doesn't use the word soul ty it speaks of a soul tie when it says that they were being knit together and became one flesh Genesis 2 21 and 23 the man said this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh because she was taken out of man she shall be called whoa man come on somebody for this reason a man will leave his father and cleave come on Sultan and they shall become one this becoming one is in the context of marriage this is two souls being knit together and becoming one I want you to know that just because you got married God didn't recognize your marriage when you were at the altar God didn't recognize your marriage when you were spending time buying that dress and planning for them people and and picking that registry God didn't recognize that even when you say I will or I do God didn't recognize your marriage yet God didn't recognize your marriage until you became one which that marriage was consummated right and they meet let me prove it to you so so when I look in the Old Testament marriage was certified differently than what it's certified today there were four steps of certifying a marriage in the Old Testament one was the signing of a contract and a covenant two was sexual consummation come on they had to come together and get busy three this is where it gets deep they had to display proof of the virginity cloth and four there was a wedding feast now I want to I want to focus in on three after the wife husband and wife came together a blood-stained sheet was the principle way of not only confirming marriage but confirming virginity that she had waited for her husband I don't think that's very fair because what was his deal which I believe the player mentality and the issue of men thinking they can do whatever they want it didn't start with your granddaddy with Adam just because you left no mark doesn't believe doesn't mean no mark wouldn't left on you and if the sheets were stained the wedding feast was playing in other words they would do everything up and to the wedding spent all the money up into the wedding to everything get the priest come on somebody locked down the location block down the honeymoon but guess what if there was no blood on the sheets there was no wedding feast so subtle you may say well why do I need to wait until I get married if I know I already loved this person even though you're not a virgin you still have purity and guess what there won't be a wedding feast and some of us got scratched from our weddings because we didn't think cuz we scrapped purity before we got married I'm going somewhere now here's the crazy thing about this it was it was crazy if there was no blood on the sheet there was divorce they were disowned by parents and she was stoned to death at the door of her parents house let me prove it to you Deuteronomy 22 15 through 17 put it up there it says the woman's father our mother must bring the proof of her virginity to the elders as they hold court at the town gate in other words if a husband if there was no blood on the sheets the but they would take the bedsheets come on somebody and hang it outside the window to the public her father must say to them I gave my daughter to this man to be his wife and now he has turned against her he has accused her of shameful conduct saying I have discovered that your daughter was not a virgin but here is the proof of my daughter's virginity then they must spread her bed sheet before the elders this is scriptural in other words here's our issue and I promise you this grace is coming I promise the issue is is although when you had sex you didn't you weren't recognized as being married before the judge but she will recognize as being tied to that person before Jesus so although you're under grace and although you got saved and although you're baptized and redeemed guess what some of us are still tied to people that we slept to because we never divorced them in the spirit and we move doing in the natural I'm preaching so what is the soul time going somewhere a soul time is sexual connection that bonds two souls together physically emotionally and spiritually watch this the deepest soul time is forged when two people become one flesh through sex or sexual activity a soul time is a spirit it is a demonic influence it can be a demonic influence if you are so tied to the wrong person and so what happens in when you're so tired to the wrong person you're wondering why you've moved on but occasionally you think about them when you're so tied to a person that's why a battered woman stays with the man who doesn't love her because she's not tied to his physical actions she's tied to his spiritual deficits and so some of us are married or remarried and guess what we're still we've never divorced the last season we've never divorced the pornography we looked at what do you mean you can be so tied to pornography let me prove it to you first Corinthians 6:16 says there's more to sex look at the scripture then more than mere skin-to-skin sex is as much as a spiritual mystery as it is a physical fact the two shall become one you see you have to understand that you are not a body with a soul you are a soul with a body first Peter 2:11 says beloved I urge you as alien as strangers come off as being set apart in Christ to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against your oh I'm I love the Bible I had to say none beloved I urge you as strangers as aliens as citizens of heaven to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against your soul see most of us were more concerned with our reputation than we are our soul see when you are soul tied to someone is when you have sex with someone that you are not married to or sexual relations with someone you are not married to so what happens is is you're not married to them you're you are married to them spiritually but you're not married to them physically so therefore you have no commitment and there is no commitment to keep it vow or covenant so you're wondering why relationships aren't working out because you didn't give him or her any relationships aren't working out is because you are tied together so lessly but not tied together with a covenant or commitment that says I only belong to you y'all catching this so what you have then is a sexual hangover what a soul tie is is a sexual hangover you see an ungodly soul tie as a sexual hangover that never ends unless it's broken a soul tire is like having negative equity that you can't shake even after 18 cars a soul tire as my question is today is it is is worth is where are let me say this is what what sexual partners are what sexual activities of what lust have called you now that you may be married or you might be in a different season but you're still paying for negative equity so when I get a chance to to fly travel a lot and uh one thing I can't stand is a dirty hotel room well y'all that what my people are having so I'm kind of a travel snob there's anybody else with me I want a five-star I look at the reviews right come on and so the first thing I do every single time I'm a I don't know what you call it what does it call that when you just can't stand nothing dirty that and so my wife makes sure that in every hotel room that I go into I have disinfectant wipes and I'm a little bit mad that no one has created one that says a hundred percent with all this technology why does every white 99.5 I need you to handle the other point five well y'all that weight will come away to the way y'all that I mean and so I will go in a hotel room and I'll wipe the whole thing down and and I'm telling you I need five minutes ten minutes and this is what I do every single time I travel I take out the wipes I wipe down the remote cuz people's hands nasty I wipe down the door I wipe down the toilet seat I wipe down the shower and watch this I wiped down the phone I ain't calling nobody your ear I don't know where your hands or your ear was just at and I know that people then clean their phone and let me just give you just a hotel travel don't ever drink out of the glasses I see somebody drinking out of the lasas I'm like nasty at one time I went then I wiped and everything and then I went to preach then I came back at night and I couldn't wait to get in bed and when I came back I opened up the bed and the last thing I want to see in my bed it's Harris I'm gonna take 15 more minutes his Harris that's nasty so what I had them do is I had them come number one number one I don't want you to change this sheet I want a new room not only do I want in the room I want it free come on somebody like like I'm not the one that's gonna be nice I'm not I'm the one that no no no no no I need to understand your customer service and if you ain't talking to me where's your manager I want to talk to matter of fact why don't you and I'm the kind of one that has proof I'll take a pictures of the hair there's always traces in the sheets see whether you know it or not machines [Applause] but where's my sheets I gotta put them through a cycle I gotta be open to the power of the Holy Spirit some of us need to go back to the marriage bed we need to go back to our past put the sheets put the she's ain't it hard to finish laundry so many things distract you man I got I gotta do this I gotta go to work I gotta build my career and I can't finish gonna load you I need you keep doing alone yeah I gotta deal with my sheets number one if you want to deal with your soul times you have to examine the sheets examine the sheet somebody say I need to examine my sheets I need to examine my sheets first John 179 says but but if we walk in the light as he is in the light this is Jesus we have fellowship with one another and oh you mean to tell me blood doesn't condemn me blood doesn't expose me no blood the blood of Jesus his son cleanses us from all sin if we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us but if we confess our sins as he is faithful to forgive he will cleanse us from all unrighteousness he gets rid of the junkie he restores that inappropriate touching even though the person never got exposed guess what God says bring it to the light puts it in its blood we gotta examine the sheet so I want you to just examine it she's number two you gotta expose God cannot cover what you won't reveal crazy thing is he already sees it and loves you anyway he knows amazing is there is nothing you have done or could ever do for God not to wash your sheets some of us came in today most of us all of us came in with what she's he knows he you ever paid a lot for a shirt and for me you go eat seafood and you get a little butter stain it's the worst something has something so little will cause you to never wear grace purity forgiveness just because of a little stay you gotta expose the sheets you got to examine the sheets you gotta expose sin you know what happened with Adam and Eve in that Garden God came and said where any of us hiding in relationships hiding even your pornography addiction is you hiding cuz you'd rather be intimate with a phone than your spouse exposing gosh it's where are you they had song fig leaves and Holy Spirit says no no no who who told you you were naked why are you covering that up in other words who told you that I wouldn't cover you who told you I wouldn't wash you and make you white as snow who told you that you had to fulfill the record that if people found out it wouldn't be a testimony he'd just be your reputation who told you that examine the sheets expose the sin I love this I got it I got to give this scripture because this is good it says in acts 3:19 when you expose the sin but acts 3:19 repent and then turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out at times of refreshing may come from the Lord there is nothing better than laying in a bed with fresh sheets see what God does is when he washes you he his blood is the detergent ah but His grace is the fabric softener and he puts his grace his blood he says well I got I don't know if you can fit these I don't know if you can handle that I don't know if the church can deal with that I don't know if the church can handle my sheet sexual preferences God said just bring it because some of y'all just need a soaking session sometimes before you wash it it's just got this soap in the presence she'll come out about she total motion of the Almighty God you know what I've been doing lately I've been going back to my pastor and getting the sheets I've been talking to my wife about stuff I never talked to her about before because I don't want my sheets to be where I lay on I want to lay on the comforter [Music] [Music] what can wash away my sins nothing but the blood what can me [Music] nothing but the
