BREAKING… Futuristic Pod-Homes Have Landed in NYC

[Music] these futuristic pod homes are taken over New York this place is 1300 square feet we got 24 feet of Windows around here two beds two baths this is a library oh my goodness look at that it's got an actual ladder that's the breakfast nook I love it oh sweet there's a projector plus if you have your own yacht you can keep an eye on it so this building's 22 stories 180 units and it was completed three years ago and right across the street they're actually building another one which will be triangles that looks like part of it and I'm guessing that hole across the street is going to be full of more of them in just a few months now the coolest thing about these places is right through that door underneath what looks like a construction site That's The High Line Park and it's one of the coolest Parks anywhere in New York City it's on 14th Street runs along the river 14th Street to 34th Street hi Mom look at that it's like we're in a future city and this doorway is actually part of the parks department and it's also part of this building those windows you can see through but this glass on the lower level that's mirrored you can't actually see into units that are like just off the park itself and that's probably probably best for everybody The High Line Used to Be railroad tracks that's what all this steel is and this is a great neighborhood there's Pizza local artwork a diner and there's even a Planet Fitness there is just in time so the cool thing about this building is it's actually one building it looks like two buildings but it connects Under The High Line no filming probably [Music] hello [Music] places 1300 square feet we got 24 feet of Windows around here and it's 15 995 a month two beds two baths it seems like a modern place but it's also designed like a small house that's what I think is coolest about it what's also really cool is just all the customizations that we've got here the current owners of this condo they built this little guy right in here look at how cute it is those little lamps little it's a plant and a unicorn your shoes they fit in here and so does other stuff is this also a shoe cabinet oh it is that's a good one right there I like that it's six inches wide and it holds like 40 pairs of shoes it's insane look at that maybe 50. and there's a note here in case you forget to take off your shoes who doesn't take off their shoes it's gross also all of the lighting this is all One Touch sunglass rack there's also central air vents everywhere and the rest of this is kind of like a tiny home but basically the cutest tiny home you'll ever see [Music] oh man this feels surprisingly safe comfortable yeah it's comfortable and it doesn't feel like dangerous or rickety yes so they actually installed a wood beam to hang it from oh really it's all according to code and I'm 200 pounds so this is uh it's easy yeah it's getting this can handle it's cool they've also got the projector up here 110 inches that's what it is 110 inches of my YouTube videos look at that cute little elephant this is named Babar [Music] oh man that couch is like falling into a cloud it really is just look at this it goes down and no couch that I've ever owned has this level of flexibility in it it's like and because of this awesome curved window you have to be really deliberate with your furniture choices and all of the seating that we have doesn't affect the view or supports the view look at this even on a cloudy rainy day there is still so much to look at we got the driving range can you see it yep over there you can also see the water there's gonna be sunsets coming in in the evening and even though there are other buildings they're not so tall that they block the sky and we're only nine floors up so not so high that it's like terrifying you can see the sky back here and that's actually the park right over there so you can kind of see it it's like living in a glass balloon I love it I also like the little just beads that they've got here to kind of Hold Back The Hanger the chairs and end tables are really cool and even little choices like getting these guys that you can kind of tuck away when you don't need them it's a smart well-designed place oh look at that of course these chairs turn check out this little storage cabinet it looks confusing at first but it makes a lot of sense when you open it those doors though 16 feet across oh really it's 16 feet wide it's pretty good what's ceiling height 11 foot 8 inches speaking of the ceiling look at this awesome chandelier this is actually custom and they had to get special permission from the building to put it in how many people can sit at this table I think four comfortably really uh maybe you could probably get six in there [Music] oh yeah if you were ever curious how to get a six person table in your apartment when all they sell are four person tables that are going to fit nicely this is how you do it you've got a bench where Phil's sitting these are the head and the foot of the table and then in this area we've got these separate chairs everything can slide along the floor without making any noise very nice this is a great example of how to not waste space in your apartment also underneath this really cool looking painting without ourselves a cabinet that's either a record player or some sort of kitchen device I'm gonna go with kitchen device and check this out we've got actual breakfast bar chairs perfect for like a quick meal that definitely a lot less formal than this but you can even charge your phone right here that works yeah you can eat my Fruity Pebbles here next to Phil some of these places you know you don't have any room up there yeah you hit because it's like a table up against something that's not actually for this [Music] all right this might be the coolest part of the apartment look at this man you just put your feet up right here check on your yacht out there in the river this is also insanely comfortable oh you can sleep here all right what do you think I like it can you reach the uh wine fridge from there or no oh yeah to get up pull one of those out [Music] all the cabinets here are like so useful check this one out it um this one slides out and it's supposed to I just might not be smart enough to live here which is why Phil brought me gagging off one of them one touch microwaves also look at all the cabinets and drawers built into the island here every single one of these opens this is the waist definitely a super efficient Design This does get more comfortable the longer you sit in it does it open from the side oh look at that oh I think there's also check this out you ready oh so it opens on its own five burners on the Range lots of counter space we also got that ambient lighting so no one gets lost at night Outlets are everywhere there's also a lot of prep space here which you'd expect and then check this out as far as like the vent goes it's um and it has a light oh coming out the sink's also nice and deep so if you need to get any work done in there you definitely can and look at this full-size dishwasher tucked away and then under the sink here we've got even more storage one of these is the fridge which one is it there it is wow that's beautiful man oh that's a massive freezer right there and it was a little guy for making ice ice maker is how you know you made it in New York what's this the pantry look at that with pull out shelves healthy food oh look at that everything pulls out look at that so organized this is like the perfect apartment for neat freaks I think if you're a messy person no matter if organization is going to help you out but this might try it might attempt to do that and you can't slam them they're slam proof is there anything in there more storage up here wow okay how tall are you Phil six foot I can open oh okay look at that it's designed for a short person glorious amounts of storage in this place isn't that an awesome shower curtain look at that it's all you need to know about New York this place has a beautiful full-size tub big shower head the astronaut wand and some Antiquated looking dials now this is the first of two full baths and since this is the one that's off the common area and living room this is the one that guests are gonna see oh and look at this this is a medicine cabinet look how big that is that's so cool there's also lots of storage underneath shelves in the right places also the throne is elevated and you need to really build the heck out of the wall that that happens in so it doesn't fall out which means this place is nice oh my goodness you really need the uh the ladder to get up there [Music] all right and I'm just now realizing you can see the top of the Empire State Building from this window this looks um a lot more frightening than it is the latter is actually very solid it's got like metal it wraps all the way around you can reach every title that matters to you see if I can do this by myself [Music] I love how it just kind of like hooks on doing it once you get the hang of it I guess I also love this chandelier that they went with it like really makes it pop plus check out this cool map of all the exciting places there are to visit in America that aren't New York so this is a home office it's a bedroom it's a media room it's a library in New York rooms are doing double duty but we've got the desk with the rolly chair over on this side and then over here I guess this is like a Posturepedic seating arrangement like this like a Nissi and it's a guest room because underneath this this actually pulls out into a queen-size bed for your crazy uncle who definitely is going to want to come over I love how everything that you need to like do everything you need to do in here fits the bookshelf is pretty much floor to ceiling very functional and if you don't live in New York this might seem kind of crazy but I've seen Apartments where somebody like had a laptop on top of a microwave and that was like where they worked this is not what you have to do here also the thermostats in here are these fancy Nest deals and then over here in the corner we do have a really good closet okay that's how it opens look at that everything is so useful and then just outside this room in we have the one one vented Appliance everybody wants a real washer dryer I also like how it's in like it's full functioning laundry room with like soap and all that stuff hanging out so you can tell if it's a nice door or Not by how many hinges it has okay a heavy door needs four hinges and that's every single hinge in this entire apartment that's crazy I've never seen a panel like that a lot of places spend 50 extra on a nice looking panel it's probably because in New York you have to be spending quite a bit of money to get anything good [Music] so that's how they open what else would you want it opens like a hatch I love it this here we've also got ourselves the Park View extremely bright extremely sunny and right now we are in the primary Suite bro this isn't a walk-in closet this is a third bedroom obviously you lied to me about this place what an incredible amount of storage goes all the way up you need this ladder to get around that's perfect for a New York apartment just the whole room it's like a shopping center for all your stuff what's nice is we've got any size bed you want this one here be a king I like the little teardrop flame lights on either side really goes well with the end tables these pop open it's pretty cool and it wouldn't be a New York apartment if you weren't keeping things under the bed very nicely done here this cabinet looks amazing we are in the bedroom so I'm not going to open that but what I will do is treat myself to a seat in this little chair I'm guessing this is like a foot massager right here oh cool it feels like I'm walking on the beach you should definitely try it and what's cool is this is also completely um privatizable because we've got this big door it does have a lock on it you can completely block out the rest of the apartment and it has its own bath [Music] the owners educated us as to the fact that this tub this is not standard on any of the units that aren't pet houses we're only on the ninth floor which isn't a penthouse but they were able to get their hands on this one accidentally there was an extra one so the developers put it in you can't ask for it we've got all the spouts and everything you're going to need to look your best and be clean and you've also probably noticed that there's no shower over here not at all and that's because the shower is in essentially its own little room which feels more like a spa or something again we've got heated floors I don't know if I mentioned that but this feels really warm and then you get in here you just you feel it change there's a little Finch so you can wash feet a squeegee to clean the windows I'm also a big fan of the Privacy glass it looks great you'll see silhouettes of things that you'd rather not actually see and before opening it I didn't think it was going to be this big look at it it like sticks out as much as our shoe cabinet does we've also got two sinks looking good with the bronze lots of water two sets of those glorious cabinets and check this out the medicine cabinet look at that
