Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
Now that they've instituted the replay / challenge system, Bobby's ejection record may be the most unbreakable record in sports.
I love this so much. I could listen to them tell stories all day long.
I was smiling ear-to-ear watching this! Thanks for posting it and making my day.
anyone have a video of this ejection?
hahahaah pimple on your daddy's ass
[Cox would be the first to tell you that he earned just about all of the 161 ejections he received over his career. For at least one of them, though, he got a little nudge from Maddux, who -- while looking over some video prior to his start -- intentionally wound Cox up by telling them that a particular home-plate umpire had a reputation for a wide strike zone.
As Tom Glavine recalled, Cox handled the rest:](https://www.mlb.com/cut4/the-best-ejections-of-bobby-coxs-career/c-290141334)
I love that they keep using their nicknames the whole time.
I remember a game back in 1993 against the Giants (remember they steam rolled us early that season before we came storming back post McGriff). The home plate ump was Mark Hirschbeck. Ron Gant was batting and got pissed over a terrible call and walked out of the box to calm down. Ump told him get back in the box, and Gant ignored him (this was a period of maybe like 5-10 seconds in total at this point). Ump tells pitcher to go ahead and pitch without Gant in the box. It bounced like twice to home plate and ump calls it strike 3. The entire team blew up, encircled the ump unleashing a verbal assault like I've never seen. Even Sid Bream was in his face which you never sawr. Bobby spat his gum on ump's shoe. Great ejection there! Wish I could find the clip!
Back when the Braves really sucked, knowing Cox would eventually get tossed was the only thing which kept me watching some games.
