[Music] hey it's me flippy and today i'm at the phoenix zoo in phoenix arizona hey i think you and i should learn about some animals today let's go [Music] whoa do you see that that is a howler monkey yeah do you see it yeah right there that is bilbo named after bilbo baggins that's funny let's act like monkeys together [Music] whoa look that's lulu the rhinoceros and lulu is 21 years old yeah lulu partay [Music] that's a toucan did you see its big beak kind of looks like a banana [Music] [Music] hey what are you doing over there come over here let's check out another animal whoa look at this do you know what animal this is yeah this is a tiger hello kitty [Music] oh come over here turn around this is where the tigers live hey look at who it is over here looks like we're getting ready to do some training [Music] did you see that the tiger is doing exactly what he's saying it looks like they're having so much fun [Music] that was really cool did you see that hey will you tell us why we just did that yeah so uh we train our animals so that um they have the opportunity to make things easier for them and the staff so we don't train our animals to do tricks um we do what we call behaviors so for example when i was having jay target his nose to the end of this pole it allowed me to move him to different positions so i could see different parts of his body having him stand up is not only impressive to see how big a tiger is but it gives me the chance to see his underside because just like us they can get injuries like cuts and bruises so let's me check up on his body to whoa do you see that animal it's another cat this is a jaguar whoa [Music] check it out i have a pail of carrots and some tongs and we just got told we need to feed the next animal come on hey check it out these are cables that you have to be on this side of them but we just got permission to head inside so we can feed the animals let's go okay this is a short barrier interesting that wasn't too hard to get in oh i see the animal look let's go through the trees whoa hey look look at the animal we get a fee check it out whoa do you know what kind of animal this is this is the tortoise let's feed the tortoises yeah check this out this is a carrot and i'm using tongs because tortoises have really strong jaws it might bite my finger off here you go whoa whoops it slipped here you go whoa okay would you like a little bit more yeah okay here you go oh there you go whoa this tortoise is about 550 pounds whoa that is really heavy hey and guess how old he is oh he's 66 years old whoa that's really old oh hello hey check this out i'll pet this tortoise's head hello how are you whoa [Music] whoa look the tortoise is off the ground do you see that because that allows for all the bugs and everything to get away from its underneath area whoa okay let's go get some more carrots [Music] whoa hello how are you doing are you having a good day oh check it out see this tortoise this tortoise is a galapagos tortoise and it's a female oh oh there you go oh and here comes the mail whoa do you see how big he is oh i'm getting trapped okay i'm gonna loop right around here see how this one's a little smaller and this one is bigger whoa this is a female and this is a male whoa hey do you like each other yeah you two look like your friends oh would you like some more whoa good job oh you dropped it hey come a little closer okay here you go all right open wide here comes the carrot whoa there you go is that yummy [Music] hey tortoises like carrots just like how i do and carrots are nice and healthy there you go you have a big mouth whoa look i'm giving this tortoise a scratch see how does that feel does that feel good yeah do you see how the tortoise is standing on its legs really high in the air in the wild they do this because a lot of times have bugs underneath them and this allows for the finches which are birds go go to fly underneath there and then eat all of the bugs underneath this tortoise yeah but for now he's standing on his legs because this feels really good it's kind of like when a grown-up gives you a back scratch yeah i like when my mom gives me a back scratch yeah how does this feel you like that yeah okay my turn okay [Music] my turn i'm ready i'm ready check this out this is an armadillo okay here you go run free oh look an armadillo is one of the ambassador animals at the zoo that means it's an animal that you can meet face to face whoa hey what are you doing you want a treat armadillos love mealworms here you go uh oh hey come right over here there you go look doesn't this armadillo look hard yeah it is kind of hard and it's not a shell it's bone inside the armadillo's skin whoa okay oh this is princess buttercup all right here you go there you go princess buttercup [Music] look at princess buttercups pretty little nails whoa okay run free [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] whoa look at this animal what kind of animal is this this is an indian crested porcupine whoa look at all of its spines are those spines the big ones are just to make her look scary but the dangerous ones are down by her tail oh okay down there whoa and what is she doing right now we're just enjoying some snacks she likes a lot of plants so we've got her some biscuits some yam and some apple today that sounds pretty tasty actually let's take a closer look at the porcupine [Music] wow you don't want to touch this animal on its tail [Music] [Applause] [Music] whoa check this out this next area is really cool whoa do you hear that all these things are working really hard to keep this next area exactly like how the ocean is come here [Music] [Applause] whoa look at it whoa there's so many filters and other things it's so cool okay come over here let me show you what it's doing yeah this is stingray bay and they're training the stingrays to do some pretty cool tricks if you come to this zoo you can use a flat gentle hand and touch the stingrays on their back but they're letting me go inside i'm so excited okay first i need to take off my shoes one shoe whoa two shoes okay let's put those there i can't forget about the socks because i'm gonna put these on whoa they're like water socks or water shoes okay let's put them on all right okay okay [Music] i'm ready here we go you have to be nice and smooth and slow so you don't scare them oh the water's nice and cold okay whoa oh hey hi how are you good how are you good what's your name my name is mary and this is kelsey we work here at the phoenix zoo woo so what are you doing right now so right now we're giving breakfast to our stingrays and we're checking them to make sure everybody's healthy and happy this morning oh that sounds like fun can i help sure would you like to feed some ooh yeah let's feed the stingrays okay so we got them they have shrimp and smelt so you can take a couple and you can put it in your hand okay check out the food whoa this looks so tasty okay i put it in my hand you're gonna hold it like an ice cream house okay ooh i like ice cream okay just like that put it nice and deep into the water they're gonna swim over your hand and they're gonna suck it out of your hand like a vacuum okay okay here you go [Music] whoa [Music] whoa look at that one so you've got a blue spotted ribbon tail sitting on your feet okay do i go deeper in the water let's see what we can do there you go guys oh i did it look it's gone it sucked it right out of my hand can i do it again you can't oh oh thank you they sucked the food right out of my hand it's kind of like have you ever put a vacuum on your hand and then the vacuum sucks on your hand that's kind of how it feels like when it's sucking the food out of your hand whoa that one just swam through my legs whoa look at them so they're getting used to you now so they can feel who you are by your heartbeat okay they're understanding that you're not going to hurt them and so they're coming closer and closer because they're getting more and more comfortable with you yeah look at them hello that scared me what happened there they just got a little bit excited okay excited not scared yeah okay because i kind of got scared but that's okay they kind of seem really gentle there they go again look at how wet i'm getting all right let's feed some more [Music] hello look at all these stingrays whoa all right bye-bye now we're gonna take a camel ride have fun flippy thank you [Music] look this is the top of the camel see the hump i'm gonna sit on top of it [Music] whoa now i'm on top of a camel okay here we go check it out [Music] whoa hey look i'm on the hump of the camel whoa this is a nice camel this is a dromedary camel it's really high up here i'm having so much fun [Music] whoa check it out see the hump of the camel they store fat in here and they can actually go about seven months without eating food or three to four weeks without drinking any water that's pretty impressive huh wow [Music] wow it has some pretty long legs huh it has four legs and you and i have two all right this is pretty fun [Music] oh that was awesome thank you very much hey you're welcome all right okay let's go see some more animals [Music] now we're behind the scenes of the native arizona exhibit oh check it out look some tools hey what does this look like kind of looks like a golf club but actually see how it has a hook it's used to handle certain types of reptiles like a snake okay but i'm not gonna use that because i'm not a trained professional check it out wow some aquariums oh the fish are on the other side we're behind the scenes whoa look at this room whoa this is a box and this is where snake lives let's read what kind it is rattlesnake venomous oh okay i don't think i should handle that one because like i said i'm not a trained professional let's find a snake that i can handle whoa this room's pretty cool whoa there's so many cages right here whoa what are these these are snake sheds wow every snake sheds its skin every couple months look at that and they're all in one piece look doesn't that look like a snake yeah that's pretty cool huh okay okay i'll keep these right here okay yeah this one looks like a good snake to handle i'm handling a snake whoa and look at the color of this snake it's orange and white and black whoa i used to be afraid of snakes when i was a child but now i'm not but some snakes you definitely don't want to hold so if you ever see a snake in the wild just to be safe you probably shouldn't try and hold it like this okay look are you having fun snake hello hey oh look at it it's so intrigued with the camera whoa wow this is awesome we're behind the scenes of another reptile area whoa there's so many cool tanks in here with so many unique creatures whoa hey whoa look right here oh hey there's someone over here come here whoa hey what are you doing i'm just getting ready to check out one of our horned lizards did you want to hold him yeah a horned lizard that's cool okay okay thank you whoa look this is a horned lizard check out its horns [Applause] wow he's so cute whoa he's just hanging out okay because kitty little kitties love to play with fish okay some crates look if you need to transport your your pet from the humane society you will probably take it inside a crate like this see so then they're nice and safe when they travel [Music] unleashes wow look at all these colorful leashes this leash is the color red this leash is the color pink i bet you know this color i wear this color all the time yeah it's the color blue come on this side wow look at this color yeah that's so bright and vibrant this color is the color pink yum some more treats but wait a second this looks like it's i for open it anymore oh hey can food come here [Music] some cat food or bulls these look like dog bowls [Music] come over here if you have a dog or maybe even a cat you've probably seen these they have a bags of food in them oh i think this is for chickens or maybe it just adds a chicken flavor to it oh and treats yeah look at this these are treats and dogs love these maybe we can get these and go feed them to a doggy come on [Music] do you see this dog this dog's name is timmy [Music] and do you see right here he has a bow tie on just like how i have a bow tie but my bow tie is the color whenever you're in need it cheers you up when you've had a bad day a pet can be your best playmate dogs and cats and bunnies and rats these are the pets pets pets turtles and snakes goldfish in a tank these are the pets pets pets my pet my pet is my very best friend gotta take care of your pets my pet my pet is my very best friend you've got to feed them and clean them sometimes you've got to teach them how to behave sit fight or sit some pets you have to walk with them others you can talk to them and some you have to clean out the cage spiders and birds and ants and worms these are the pets pets ponies and frogs hamsters and hogs these are the pets pets pets my pet my pet is my very best friend gotta take care of your pets my [Music] my pet my pet is my very best friend you've gotta take care of your pets [Music] oh hey it's me blippi and this is sheila hey sheila she's a farm dog whoa and look at what i have this is my lunch i have a tasty apple some strawberries bananas a sandwich with tomatoes on it [Music] and even farm fresh eggs wow have you ever wondered how this food gets to your plate yeah i have to so today we are at laughing goat flower farm in enumclaw washington this is gonna be so much fun [Music] sheila look at these plants whoa these are strawberries and blueberries have you ever had a strawberry or a blueberry yeah so tasty [Music] and look at these pretty interesting looking this plant yeah this is another fruit or a vegetable yeah this one's a vegetable and this vegetable is called garlic i love garlic it makes my food taste so good so garlic is actually a bulb right down there but it's not ready to be harvested yet but up here you can harvest the tops and it's also tasty i'll show you how to do that so i'm going to take these really sharp scissors so i'm going to be very careful and i'm going to snip it right there this is what it looks like whoa one great thing about this farm is that all the food and the flowers are organically grown this is gonna be so tasty all right i think that's good enough let's count them all right we have one [Music] two [Music] and three wow three pieces of garlic top yum [Music] whoa these are called snap peas [Music] and they're so yummy [Music] hmm i think you and i should plant some snap peas okay so to plant some plants some plants you need a shovel where you dig a hole and a bed of soil just like this and put a seed right in the hole fill up the hole put some water on it and then after a lot of sun and some more water and a lot of love it'll grow into a tasty plant all right but for snap peas all you have to do is put one of these plants in a box right on top of the soil and push it down to right about there perfect and then you take another one and push it down let's do a few more together great this is really fun look at them see let's count them one two three four all right four minus one is three oh all right let's put the rest of these down inside the soil there we go okay so we have a bunch of them right in a line right here so let's move the rest of that and those and let's take the water and let's give them some water wow all right then in a while these are gonna grow into really big plants and then they'll grow these on them and then you can eat them like this [Music] wait a second i think there's some big ones over there come on all right so those snap peas that we just planted in seed form after two months are gonna grow to look like this look see the plant has nodes and then those nodes grow the snap peats off of them [Music] pull it off and look you have a lot of snap peas off this one plant have you ever tried a snap pea maybe you should they're really good [Music] i sure do love tractors huh sheila [Music] okay all right time for some more food come check this out these are strawberry bushes and look down here these are strawberries really red strawberries let's pull it off yum hmm that was tasty whoa i love strawberry bushes oh and here's some blueberries but they're not quite ripe yet see these yeah they'll be blue when they're nice and ripe and then you can eat them [Music] whoa now we're in the chicken coop hey chickens and look these are some tasty treats for the chickens they love to eat these tasty treats so then they lay lots of eggs i love eggs for breakfast of course all right here you go chickens [Music] here you go oh yum they love these tasty treats just like how i love fruits and vegetables these chickens love this stuff i don't know what it is though here you go all right all right there you go from there you can spread the rest around [Music] there you go and now i'll pick one up so i can pet it [Music] oh look i have a chicken and they love to be pet on their head see hey chicken want to see the chicken oh so cute their neck oh so relaxed so cute hey chicken chicken hey chicken chicken see oh it's okay it's okay girl [Music] see the chickens live in this coop they love to eat food just like me and you so then they can lay their eggs so then you and i can eat them they're so nice all right here you go bye-bye have a good day time to pet another chicken first we gotta catch one so now in this room this is where the chickens lay their eggs come here whoa see them down there yeah they're laying eggs and if you look right here there's a couple eggs ready for us to grab look right down there one eight two eggs yum [Music] hey pigs another fun thing about this farm is they have farm pets too just like these goats whoa and there's some pigs back here all right hey down all right so let's give them some treats all right let's see sorry here's whoopsies okay let's set some of this stuff down i'm gonna set that down all right who wants some banana oh yum all right would you like some you like to get brushed yeah there you go there you go yeah does that feel good it's kind of like a bath but without water and it doesn't clean you it just feels really good i like taking baths and showers nice and clean and rubbing a brush on my skin okay here you go let's get you right there come check out this pig's hair whoa it's really coarse and really thick wow it's really thick oh hello [Music] hey pig there you go oh yeah does that feel good oh i bet there you go yeah see i'm brushing this pig this pig is really big whoa can i give you a hug [Applause] [Music] does that feel good growing rooms are kind of like greenhouses they keep a little bit more heat inside than outside right sheila all right let's go explore [Music] look at what it is it's a green hose whoa oh hey look at what's on the end of the hose oh it's a watering spigot what does it do whoa fish sprays water let's water the plants there you go there you go yeah plants love to drink water just like you and i do all right wow this is so much fun growing plants because i love to eat the food afterwards speaking of food look way down there [Music] oh look it's a plum tomato it looks so tasty shall we eat it wow yum [Music] another fun thing to do at laughing goat flower farm is to make a bouquet come on whoa look in here some more plants all right so these plants you don't eat yeah these plants you make a beautiful beautiful bouquet with all right here we go let's take our snips all right where to go how about right ah there all right okay ah that's real pretty so how you make a bouquet is you start with the base flower like this well actually you start with a base plant and then you add the beautiful colorful flowers but this plant right here yeah it's fuzzy and it kind of looks like the color white oh yeah normally plants are the color green well sometimes really depends on the plant but this one is pretty white looking all right let's cut some more shall we [Music] there we go all right perfect and some more [Music] whoa look at all of them they're so beautiful all right what else do we need we got a nice base we need some color let's go [Music] [Applause] [Music] look at these colorful flowers yeah they're the color yellow these will look beautiful in the bouquet all right whoa so interesting looking okay let's put that right there all right one will do alrighty let's find some more flowers come on whoa another growing room and more flowers perfect just what we're after all right look at this one huh all right let's pull it up whoo it's kinda light yeah it also has a little bit of green and a little bit of yellow yeah and it makes that color all right let's put it right there yep perfect look wow take out our scissors gotta be careful okay whoa that one's the color white put that right there whoa look at this one yeah this color is the color pink wow so beautiful it smells so fresh all right and one more over here whoa whoa look at that color whoa it's a really deep deep dark purple whoa that will look beautiful in the bouquet let's put it right there all right let's go find some more flowers [Music] here's some more beautiful flowers for a bouquet all right let's take our scissors be very careful this one looks perfect actually this one looks perfect see the color it's the color light pink all right it fell all right all right my snippers back there all right ah [Applause] so beautiful all right put it right there whoa look at it now and it smells even more beautiful okay some more flowers all right this one looks ready and this one is dark pink wow all right let's take the scissors give it a snip give it a smell so fresh all right here we go let's put it right there whoa that's a big flower oh it's so colorful oh i see some more over there [Music] more beautiful flowers for our bouquet all right let's cut some flowers together all right whoo see this flower this flower is the color light blue wow beautiful all right let's put it we have two more one two let's put one right there perfect and let's put the last one right next to this big one all right there we go perfect so beautiful oh look more blue flowers all right let me snip some of these [Music] huh these are the color blue as well but remember the last flowers they were light blue but these flowers are dark blue let's put them in the bouquet all right here we go we've got one right there about one over here one let's see right there looks beautiful and one [Music] right there what a beautiful bouquet let's go get some more flowers [Music] whoo some more flowers oh interesting see this flower it's not fully blossomed yet huh yeah oh there's different stages of blossoming flowers look down here see this one hasn't even opened yet it's still a baby you see this it's trying to peek out it's like hello i see you but then it opens a little bit up a little bit more see and then goes to a little bit more yeah and then goes even more wow and then after that goes i'm beautiful i'm a flower and speaking of that there's some down here let's go [Music] whoa look at these oh let's cut one [Music] this is a new color do you see it yeah this color is the color red all right let's add it to the bouquet let's put this one right in the very very center whoa look at that it is so beautiful i know what i'm gonna do with these flowers i'm gonna surprise my
