Blackrock Mountain! - Hearthstone Expansion Showdown Ep. 4

the blackrock mountain was released in april 2015 and was hearthstone's second adventure it comes with a ton of dragon themed minions and overall support for various decks including cards like emperor taurusen blackwing corrupter and flamewaker after defeating every boss both dexter and myself received the same 31 core cards this adventure comes with my name is solem and this is the expansion shot on roll the intro we will be building 3 decks for different classes to then face off in a best of 5 match in which the winner will receive a prize to upgrade their decks in the next episode every week we will open 50 packs of another set or purchase an adventure to go through all the sets in chronological order starting in classic and ending with the newest release along the way we will have access to more and more cards making the decks we build better each episode my name is solem this is dexter and welcome to the hearthstone expansion showdown new week new episode new adventure this time it's black rock mountain meaning like next roamers there are no packs to open you buy the adventure play against like i don't know 17 npcs and then we get the exact same legendaries and because we defeated all the enemies well those are the cards we have we got two class cuts each and then i think like 15 20 a whole bunch of neutral cuts here's the good thing we get guaranteed legendaries here's the bad thing some of those guaranteed legendaries as you can see our end black hand and major doma so we got some value with nefarian we got some chromaggus all in all we have one legendary to be honest here we got emperor but we got dragon synergy humana 3-5 blackwing corrupter we got some resurrection stuff and priest everybody likes big priests our dragon concert and we got me we got solemn i think we're gonna play paladin again but make it like max dragon paladin if that works i wanted to include the dragons but they're kind of bad if we look here at black rock mountain i feel like nothing is that impressive here quick shot's really good but i just i don't have like highmane but i mean i think i would make a hunter deck i just feel like that's so core i don't really like the rogue stuff here i went for a dragon package and pretty much most of these were gonna have like um thorson blackwing corrupters the technicians and then um nefarian chromagus and i usually just put in hungry dragon because i want more dragon action to activate the technician and the corrupter a little bit more and then we have the fairy dragon for a little bit more dragon consistency i do have zombie chow in here just to slow it down this is some sort of control shaman going back to my roots shaman let me down in episode two but episode one it was amazing so you know maybe maybe we'll we'll do okay we do have uh the game plan here with the winfrey rock biter rock batter if we manage to stick a large minion it'll just seal the deal so maybe it's chromagus maybe it's nefarian kt fire elemental who knows so that's the plan with the shaman solemn newer expansion new adventure you gotta play the cards well got your back on that i put in new cards so black or mountain cards into all those ducks and here's my prediction i think the less black or mountain cuts you play the better your deck is let me explain i think gvg just with the max synergy all that even the xdromas itself even classic cards have a higher power level they're just better than cards in blackrock mountain so my first deck called dex lost to this because i think he's going to lose to this he doesn't expect it it's warrior it's kind of wallet warrior so you play like a bunch of removal stuff and bunch of big stuff we got gore hulk we get [ __ ] stamped those are pretty good cards we opened and never used so we get shield maiden we get armor that's the idea we got taunt we don't die i don't know how this deck wins exactly i hope stats are enough like in 2015 i think somebody played a similar deck like this and might have won against me corrupt us decent cut great guy maybe he's never active we will see we do have uh another dragon package here we also got rand in this one um we have toshley for fun you know emperor thorson discounting toshly make it's gonna make it pretty good um unfortunately i only have one peacekeeper but it's not bad i have two argent protectors which i think will be good if i can land a divine shield on my my bigger dudes other than that we got mustard uh which seems pretty good acolyte of pain for a draw because i did craft it with my common crafts and um yeah i think i feel pretty good about dragon paladin mostly because concert is such a strong card i think will give us a huge temper swing paying tribute to drake drizzy so my favorite card artwork in the entire game just the artwork itself not the animation anything like that is dragon concert this card is so pretty but it doesn't do that much we didn't open ysara or any of the other dragons from the classic sets so we kind of limit it with like nefarian could be 7 mana you could play dragon concert into another concert into a free fairy drake might not happen the idea is play the mid-range stuff play your minions get like divine shield should be good draw some cards hopefully maybe not had jeeps in here before jesus is not good good work i hope it does kind of similar to the one i played in the previous episode but i took out a lot of stuff i honestly think i made the deck worse but i wanted to fit in blackrock mountain stuff so we have some uh some of the dragon package it's pretty much the same one in all of them with the random chromagus nefarian in addition to the corruptors and then i have uh the technicians as well i don't really have that many dragons in this one i'm a little bit scared i just have chromaggus neferina nasdormu maybe i actually want to put one more dragon in here i might put in the hungry dragon but i'd rather have consistency than the shredders so i'm gonna drop one so now we have four dragons and i only like to have maybe five or six of a certain tribe if i'm going for activations but uh whatever this seems okay and lastly yep dragons so again i want to go 343 on this one i want to play all those dragons in blackrock mountain you guys like dragons i like dragons sadly they're not that good all the synergy we have is gain plus 2 health so it's basically zombie chow without the downside but it could be a 2-1 we got black wing technician which is just a good three drop i again try to put in as many cards as possible it's just that an adventure doesn't give you that much it doesn't shake up the meta as much as an expansion does all i can say is you didn't believe in priest last time because blingtron might have backfired could happen so i cut him i hate this card now that he's back in our collection manager and we can hit that button we won't this deck might perform better if this deck loses three games in a row again i might need to stop playing christ feeling all right feeling okay as long as solemn kind of did the same thing as me put in a big dragon package because i wanted to make the brm more prominent so we'll see what happens i'm feeling feeling okay you know i have one last last series or last set or whatever last episode so i'm feeling i'm feeling good you can witness how i spin the wheel and i can be excited about if i get to craft two comments do you not want to possibly change your decks i might update them in a second depending on what i got oh there's the wheel and it spins and it spins and wow i got i can craft two comments okay all right it's no joke it's pretty good all right forget about that forget about crafting comments it's only fair to craft something from the hall of fame that is not north shire club i might do the same thing you did last time and go with acolytes honestly acolytes are good they're really good they fit in everything they're neutrals so yes solid let me what's better than zombie chow mistress of mixtures because it heals you too but it's one minute two two has one less health the health doesn't matter wow you do play dragon shaman you told me you told me hey dragon shaman's good and i believe you listened yeah dragon chime is good you wouldn't lie to me do people not play dragon shaman oh wow might surprise you but the answer is no i don't know why people people should play dragon shaman in standard even i think i trade that just because i get the heal yeah yeah that was good yeah you just write that huh armor made to fit it's not too much armor it's one though it is one that's more than zero wow that's a lot of check your map on that you're right oh wait a minute i shouldn't have done that whoopsie oh well it's not like you have risky skip or anything like that so i'm not too worried i do have my own though i gotta say healing totem is really annoying yeah it's doing a lot of work oh you don't have brawl well um yeah you definitely don't have brawl because you haven't played warrior before i'm pretty sure if you had brawl you would have played warrior in a previous episode i hate to say it but you might be right you do not have brawl there's no way okay i was gonna lose my [ __ ] i wish i had it maybe i'll draw into it next turn maybe hmm don't want to draw do i actually draw okay i will draw i will give you your next couple of turrets oh you get like 12 damage on your bot and i don't know what to do use brawl your cards are discounted what could you have a big dragon uh you could play chromagus right now i think i do it like this oh geez and this might make sense i think or does it i really hate your acolyte in your draw engine drawing cuts is cheat it is you do get a lot of draw here i can tell you the alma smith is not worth it the helmet does not matter you're getting a lot of armor though oh man maybe that wasn't worth the hit right there yeah this is not great i definitely goofed here please get a bundle please get a one drop that's not quite the one drop i imagined this is fine it's a little bit larger than one drop for sure but possibly my smallest minion oh my gosh that actually could have been really bad oh you have doom sale right if i say no will you not play a second death lord i could play around that i think this happens for sure that's pretty good my corrupt against yours and i think you play a second one actually i think you mill a card because you draw anyways oh wow we're getting something kind of smart that's quite unfortunate how will you ever draw up to 10 cards now huh it's impossible it's a good question i actually think that helped you more than it helped me i think he might be right hmm do i actually just clear no i think i i think i'm going to overdraw though this is awkward now that's fine don't worry about it i'm worried hmm i think i just i could just do this that wasn't too good that doesn't do that much it doesn't maybe that was a bad decision wow yeah i think i could have done a better play there i feel like it's too late to remove your draw totem i think that doesn't matter anymore i think you should kill it because it's gonna give me the advantage yeah for a couple more points but then you're out of cards i don't know i feel like it's better for my health to remove your stuff i don't know like your big stuff i don't know about that we could do a couple things here armor two mana five health draw card i think after seeing two of your big cards being gone i think this happens wow that's pretty good i really don't care what you totem you should kill the uh the that totem on the far left now we keep that up um i think we do it like this that's how i use my mana and we ripped our gar i feel like i just ignore your totems like they're literally useless on the bottom unless you have bloodlust then that's 12 damage or 24. know that oh hello hello well i guess well oh no that ruined my strategy of you fatiguing wow this is not to play paladin now right it's my last class that i gotta win with it's two to one paladin is not the best thing but i do have some weapons here and there i will cover the world on warrior that's fine on the bot you know it's good hmm yeah after nine cards i don't like that i i don't like that a lot i think this is good and this shield means a solid car did they still play it uh also no i mean it's a six minute five five but it gives you five armor exactly isn't that terrible no that's great yeah at the moment it's great wow you're just taking all that d huh what are you gonna do about it play grommash i got taunt in the way you don't have bra i got lethal next turn and you don't even know about it yet what could you possibly have for lethal leroy jenkins winfury and shaman but i'm disguised as paladin oh jeez this is not he's playing chrome magus on a variant or something like that wait why i don't know just play it maybe get something funny hmm why are you getting armor huh hmm yeah we're playing the taunt guy the taunt guy you can't deal with the taunt guy this is such a good card this is still played no what nobody plays sludge belcher you play card to defendants that like in standard i feel like it's the perfect turn for the annoying guy oh wow that's annoying but there could be bra still even though it's 10 mana do you think i would use brawl here i mean you can have to kinda have to wow i kind of have to is there a better line just don't could have been worse what is this it was almost lethal oh my gosh running it off steamy i hope that's you know the final push holy crap um i don't like that hmm am i still alive do you have four damage solemn did it just top the truth of a champion oh my gosh here's my problem i might have not popped back back if you did just just end me solemn i did not that's the thing but here's another thing um you might play this one guy called grommash hellscream right this one legendary thingy or you play the iron juggernaut still from last time you think if you have a 500 minute on the bot i might just die i think you think i have ground yes i don't want to remove your minion because that's kind of bad oh like 7 damage i think i go with the safest play i go with all of this and hit face overwhelm you you have a single copy of brawl i think i used it to my advantage please have nothing i don't like what you did solo let's see here did it put you in a situation you did there could be a way out i don't know if there is a way out that was a good news for me keep on i think it might be checkmate and before pretty good if the minion survives blessing of kings kind of op also aldor really good kind of won that i only got a single copy but pretty good gotta say pretty good cut wow three in one there's a question i gotta ask and something that i gotta tell you i think i wanna ask first first of all gg's well played what was your shaman deck that sucked so hard what was that it uh it was a wind fury deck i was just hoping to stick one big minion hit it with the double rock fighter wind fury so you did not play raven hold assassin i did not oh i just had a bunch of big minions i was hoping one would stick well we learned this time that maybe blackhawk mountain is not the best expansion when it comes to making decks better but it was yeah maybe yeah yeah that wasn't the cards aren't that good i also had rand black and he didn't do anything not a single time i think i had him in one of my decks too i'm not too sure maybe i cut him but i think he was in my pre-stack was he not he was really bad okay he did nothing i had him in my hand and he was just never active i guess if it would have killed a chromagus or something that would have been nice hmm there's something on my chest i gotta i gotta get off something i gotta tell you so before our game started you reminded me to craft something right so i can spin the wheel and get my two comments uh-huh did you know which cards i
