Black Hawk Down | MOVIE REACTION

hello all it's our first movie react uh dark and skull's first movie react so i'm uh dark and this is skull our weird gaming name is gonna be used for this because uh they're cool they're cool we haven't decided on their names yet but anyway our first movie react is a black hawk down now the only thing i know about this movie is war yeah essentially i have a rough idea that it takes place in uh uh somalia i think that's so yeah this is our first movie react and we're excited to do this uh i'm not even sure however the editing per se will be like but uh yeah we're gonna go right into it so let's let's go yeah no tv show intro oh yeah it's a movie [Music] i don't think i know that name correctly oh this is a very bleak toner ready from the start but i don't think they see that either this was the days yeah before cgi for crowds it's actually really nice to watch an early 2000s film again oh jesus well that was shot very cinematically with him put the finger over that you know this guy eric banner if i'm not mistaken if i'm not mistaken [Music] wait how does he not how's he supposed to blend in though if he is eric bannon i think he's the one who isn't the other boiling girl with scarlett johansson natalie portman oh the uh the king the what was it queen mary [Music] oh wow he's just unafraid i think he knows you can't behind maybe hmm could be i've seen him before bolivar and there are movies here see all this it's simply shipping tomorrow tomorrow without a lot of arkansas white boys ideas from texts mr garrison i think you shouldn't have come here is our wall and this stone i'm going to this year it really caught the weather like he looks like he's sweating constantly how do they all look everyone yeah good detail [Music] yeah it's not a us war movie without some some classic music behind it especially the chopper taking off i'm really organized [Music] mcgregor yeah 3427. it's so weird to see hear him speak in american accents or simply mug and one calls him over this year secondly we know about the fighting still next well i'm here to kick some ass wow jesus shots are so cheesy that's the actor from game of thrones which one [Music] of the guys who made a comment there when he shows up on point of view he plays jamie lannister oh wow this is years before he shows up there's everyone's like a cast list of all the people in this film [Music] oh yeah that is uh jimmy actor [Music] holy [ __ ] there's a lot of people in this movie i thought [Music] avatar and it will fit up your ass [Music] because if i ever see you undermined again you'll be cleaning the trains with your tongue so you can't taste difference between [ __ ] and french fries are we clear sir he got lucky though he did honestly could have done a lot worse to him listen to this one we know this guy too his channel's the dead guy's playing a hundred times yeah i've seen his videos and fantastic four hands he played [Music] how do we how do you connect all these actors i don't even i'm looking i don't recognize like he looks familiar but we can sit back and watch the country destroy itself on cnn i mean we tried that in afghanistan i was trying to fight oh nice [Music] that's almost kind of adorable okay i'm going to bow to my god all right back to uh guard dude nope so they're still trying to cast this genre wow that's how they test their guns [Music] i had requested light armor and ac 130 spectrum gunshots in washington and all its wisdom decided against us we know this actor from los angeles [Music] your wish has been granted oh [Music] you're [Laughter] wow well he's pulmonary since his first action the only action i could have seen was a desert storm which was the first war with iraq and the panama they mentioned panama i love you baby hello hello oh they're all taking they're just kind of funny yeah it looks like uh prisoners and then the assault and blocking forces and bring them back home in an hour like he plays like a soldier roasting around the entire market is the wild west i'm picturing him with curly hair people do live there somewhere he sounds scared [Music] oh jesus [Music] jesus oh nice so cool and this is even done with cgi yeah now they have to see the whole thing yeah you gotta give props to the hollywood stunt actors because they have the ones that people fly these yeah true but they might have gone an actual navy but uh just pilots actual airports probably to play these yeah okay i'm guessing call of duty was inspired by this maybe yeah call of duty had about quite a few of these kind of missions [ __ ] and i can see how war a lot of the influence from music came from some of these type of games yeah the same yeah [Music] oh nice shot there's a community effort yeah look at that yeah yeah this is really cool [Music] i'm scared so they can't be seen wow this is a nutty shot yeah that's actually nice [Music] oh wow this was today be something like downtown filming it on their phones oh nice jesus those are really hot these things he was the second guy after after uh tom hanks uh yeah yeah that's right i finally remember who the [ __ ] he was good job oh my god it was killing me like i knew he was a soldier somewhere it just occurred to me with his helmet off he had the same position where he shot the other guys like that's right yeah yeah good one it occurred to me oh my god he's moving everything oh no it's on him it's the back of him oh that's what it's important wow oh my god oh oh i think that guy's gone i think this guy's gonna get shot though yeah that's why they show this yeah [Music] yeah and you just have to go yeah i have to keep going someone's got to press the top the title of the movie is unfortunate very self-explanatory black [ __ ] down oxy oh my god [Music] also they have to be combat it's training yeah [ __ ] that's terrifying though because you're in an out of control he looks like the guy who's in harry potter i mean yeah he looks like the uh a war that that ghost said he's got a style yeah that could be him i think yeah you're gonna hold this quarter and sometimes they want to check it out you know oh [Music] is oh [ __ ] is that like the second rpg you've been hit by people there otherwise they're gonna get killed [Music] wow he was shot twice already and he doesn't give a [ __ ] [Music] well i think he knows you know this is it he's just trying his best ah that this sucks relatively recently right before i was born so oh my god [Laughter] oh my god [Music] what he's just hiding by himself [ __ ] how does he get out of this situation [Music] oh nice jesus i don't want her to laugh or feel bad for him well at least that was [ __ ] up though i wonder if that actually happened so it shows a disconnect between the top [Music] i'm sure this pilot is totally totally in charge of all things and all that and he knows what the hell he just wants to go home and see his family at this point i'm gonna need you to assist okay he's terrified you can tell like he just doesn't wanna listen jamie i gotta do something it's gonna hurt oh [ __ ] it's gonna it wouldn't hurt it's gonna knock me but i have to do it on my counter all right i can't watch this part well i don't think they're gonna show it explicitly i think we know this actually two three oh he's doing my hand oh my [ __ ] god medics are just bad asses he's trying to make coffee and super whatever he's still in there confined can't be too coarse behind a desk no really i think i'm kidding [Music] it is all night and they don't even have night vision like no earplugs nothing yeah that's true oh yeah they have no vision that was really cool but yeah it shows how quality it is [Music] i'll do it suddenly so i can hold there oh they're going to use classic [Music] man i can't see [ __ ] [Music] i'm putting it on the roof oh my god [Music] oh there comes support they got armored this time [Music] the u.n say oh they're arriving finally those meds have been in the helicopter the whole time think about that jesus [Music] he's just shaking his head yes sir okay let's get out of here let's go danny no one gets left behind well they stayed there all day he's done already [Music] three four hours of sitting there shooting just to get the pilot [Music] [Laughter] [Music] seriously you want vehicles left behind i find it hard to believe [Music] well yeah the scones are the ones that suffer at the end of the day they get paralyzed by everyone oh nice shot what the pilot yeah i think there'll be probably a there's gotta be a clip at the end explain what happened to him [Music] once they actually ran it was dramatized yeah true oh wow oh okay thanks for unless they got a glass of water i actually made it out those two i sense a friendship and coming between these two i can't believe i'm doing something don't go back out without me don't understand why we do it they won't understand it's about them that comradeship gets men through war you know yeah got a guy next to you don't even think about it all right i said there's no way now nobody has to be here [Music] wow look at these scenes well shy [Music] keep smiling and never give up well i'm the durant though so i'm closing my life tonight [Music] so okay so he did get right [Music] riley scott oh i was about to ask you earlier like okay now we're gonna see the cast nolan based on the book oh so i gotta read this too jerry brooke god he's made so many classics produced so many classes [Music] poor guy thomas hardy he wasn't tom hardy then now he's a tom hardy he's all tom hardy all right so we are now finished watching black hawk down our first movie for a reaction first gonna be like jesus oh my god that was a long movie wow um a lot to absorb i was not expecting this movie to be war after yeah a lot of a lot of action but it gave us a feeling of how intense the urban incumbent was surrounded constantly and running ammo and unable to medi-evac their soldiers yep the action was really good everyone i love at the beginning they showed us the men like their bond together and then all the groups that they were in together all separated and lost hurt and wait though what does the movie give us a lesson but it was all for nothing in a way because all those men died they were in a foreign country yeah they're fighting in a civil war and and you said it i just feel bad for this whoever's caught in the middle of that [ __ ] who doesn't want to become in the middle yeah nobody nobody deserves to get killed like that uh in there you said it's still going on to this thing yeah to this day there's still somalia still has issues there's tons of piracy offshore uh the a lot of countries send their naval vessels in the area to stop it that sort of thing you can find videos on youtube of uh pirates getting uh arrested by uh naval forces but yeah regarding the movie itself it definitely felt uh action-packed very very action-packed but it didn't feel like it was getting like oh everyone is dying it was so exciting it didn't feel cheesy or it just felt like a frantic chaotic situation that they had they just couldn't get their uh get themselves out of yep stuck in a situation um man like mcknight for example you're just out of [ __ ] to give like walking around just casually like hey it's good to see you while we're getting shots i was like holy [ __ ] he's so immune to it at that point wow just oh god he's like i've got too many wounded and there's like five wounded people in the back i was like holy [ __ ] well maybe they're dead or wounded oh god yeah the way he just uh he's just yeah says that or like his driver lost his eyes to that jesus yeah that was a that was horrifying oh they made those those bloody scenes really really really really bloody i felt really uh disgusting probably disgusting yep another god that must be death though like do they care do they carry ear plugs in this kind of thing i'm like um if there's any veterans in the comments in the comments do you have to carry earplugs with you for this because i feel like that your hearing would be gone from all that yeah that's true just gave me thought when uh tom hardy's uh tom hardy's i want to say character uh character implies it's a fake story okay the person he's playing yeah tumbly was he when he was firing over the other guy and made him deaf like how did he not get death from that just that's [ __ ] loud holy [ __ ] m16s aren't fun to begin with i would love to know about that too like do they have to carry that surely that should be uh some of them were carrying headsets but i don't think they were for death protection i think it was talking to the radio yeah just like government and it kind of shows the disconnect like the general is back in the office leading you know obviously he's bored shitless the whole time and then there's the uh colonel in the air and the helicopter the whole time circling them for hours now he's on the ground but obviously he has his own worries like trying to get them out of there yep it seems like they're kind of disconnected they are disconnected but they're not uh maybe they're not going to happen they're just yeah that's how it's they're trained to remain calm yeah of course it was those two though those are like the most generic government military officials you could pick those had two actors they didn't nail them all perfectly they're like roger no offense hell he was used uh what was his name not the shorter guy the taller guy he was using several call of duty games i'm pretty sure that he voiced he voiced some of those announcements like roger yeah oh really i'm pretty sure he was another jesus in those games but yeah oh man that that was a what a what a nightmare to be in stuck in especially when you thought this would be like a short mission half an hour you don't need your water i'll be in half an hour in and out it won't take any time at all nothing could go wrong because why would anything go wrong don't even have anybody on standby just in case i bet this provided valuable lessons in the long run yeah true oh my god i really felt for some of them though like the acting was really good yeah like the medic everyone's performance was terrific the medic saved stopped your heart rate too but it was just too late yeah yeah that whole did you imagine to do that by hand unsanitized nothing oh my god he just wanted to help him as best as he could oh and those two are going for the chopper by themselves and they died anyway oh he oh but i'll bet the pilot probably filaments guilt after that that's not his fault they didn't yeah it's not like he asked them to go down there yeah exactly they they were giving a job to the situation yeah they were given a job and they uh they asked to do and they did it and no one gets left behind yeah i wonder if they ever got their bodies out the movie doesn't show that like they got the pilot out we know that because he was released from uh captivity later well we know that from eric van wyk's characters that he wanted to go in to get those bodies the person who was portraying it not character personally was portraying yeah so maybe implied that they're going to go find their bodies and one of them they stripped him of his neck oh that's mine they all [ __ ] off immediately i wonder if they did i got to read the book wow man that's my my new refrain i gotta read the book exactly everywhere in the book every every uh war movie we watch rodney's got makes great stuff gladiator this uh kingdom of uh he did do that uh alien he's a blade runner he's had a very extensive uh film uh yeah film history dear god he's known everything hmm what else does he made recently prometheus right yeah well that was the destiny i mean like for me [Music] uh what else did he make i know he's making that gucci movie and uh i can't remember he's making the last do uh what was in the medieval movie last duel with uh yeah and ben affleck and uh that really talented actress whose name i can't remember his his specialty like he can he can just insert himself into anything the director that's true he can do horror it felt like a documentary in a way it did yeah it was shot and uh after watching so much white pacific and bannon brothers the shooting feels very uh definitely feels almost more casual on this that makes sense but it's still great it's still oh yeah it's kind of timeless like the way it was it's still very enjoyable you know it holds up very well holds up very well movies from early 2000s to me said that way now it holds up great yeah very well done uh obviously i bet some stuff was dramatized because it is a movie yeah so some stuff was dramatized over but i don't know what it was since i've never read the book so overall that was a really good movie enjoyed it very much that was a what a [ __ ] situation to be in [Music] jesus yeah very good movie though man those two they went down there and they died anyway no wow i wonder they got they were given the medal of honor posthumously yeah that's true they volunteer to go down yeah yeah they just needed a green light excellent acting from everyone involved yep it had me totally convinced i was watching award worth like but it wasn't all like dead you know dark there was some there was some shockingly humorous moments in it for uh for a movie very surprisingly like the coffee times coffee yeah his rpg encounters or the death scene just oh yeah there's a lot of surprisingly amount of humor in it well we can look it up yeah but uh yeah that that could be him i think jesus but yeah surprise amount of humor great cinematography excellent music the music is so good it feels very uh music was surprisingly good like guitar riffs and uh yeah it doesn't feel like a bombastic movie it feels like very uh modistic uh atmosphere and it covers it captures the essence of the uh i'm sitting in a way very mournful and uh it shows that the city is uh filled with death i guess um potentially saying that destruction and chaos and people just stuff in the middle of it yep well i guess that's uh all the reaction we can cover for today for this one if we have any more thoughts on it uh we'll probably think of it later when we're not talking about the movie and then be like why don't we discuss this and we'll be like whatever anyways
