[Music] hi I'm Dennis Gage and welcome to my classic car well this week we're in Macungie Pennsylvania for the Wheels of Time car show I was here about 10 years ago and it poured but let me tell you this weekend it's fabulous and speaking of fabulous there's some killer cars here let's get around and check them out this is nice this is rare it's a great car man one dollar for a mustache one dollar for this hey how you doing man terrific Dennis how are you doing well you know with weather like today I'm doing great when I was here what six seven years ago 2007 was it nearly as nice it was mud kanji yes it was but man this year yesterday today it's been spectacular you know it's all about our Charities and when we can bring these many people through the gates and put this many cars together it's all good it's you got to be pushing 2 000 cars I mean you're well over 1500 yeah yeah we're going for two you're going for two and I've seen I mean I've seen plates from all over I mean certainly up and down the East Coast but you draw from everywhere this is what like the 37th year 37 years and our show's been here since 86. and in the park here yes which is a wonderful venue right in the heart of makanji it's a huge Park and they always have it 100 for us when we get here just it's magnificent and it's a real give back group too and you guys do you sponsor a number of Charities and you've just you've just been doing good things for a long time how many 32 32 Charities last year wasn't a great year for the weather and we still gave away 59 000 that's amazing I mean that's the great thing about the car hobby yes and there are some incredible incredible cars here I mean there's some of the craziest stuff you have ever seen and you'll see it from stock to how the hell did they do that exactly exactly that's the two anchors yeah it really is well as a matter of fact there's a studio over there that's just it's killing me let's go look at that before we get serious all right [Music] Well Albert I I was cruising around here yesterday saw this car felt absolutely in love with it but you weren't here right some people have to work some people have to work I know it's terrible but uh came back today and by golly you and the car here this is gorgeous oh but this is a it's a 49 olds yes but man if she had some work done and really incredibly creative and tasteful work first of all I mean the color is it's a gray green yes what is it it's a sage green it highlights the lines just beautiful and you've done so much stuff here but a lot of it is so subtle it almost like oh did they do that I mean right off the bat what you did with the hood ornament there right is fantastic that you've dropped it down what all did you do there well we pie sectioned the hood an inch and a half to drop the nose down yeah and then we French that rocket in there which was part of a 1950 Oldsmobile hood ornament without the wings and then you gave it that little peek too yeah I mean is that is it is all steel yes yes all metal you also you gave an eyebrow here right that wasn't there right you've cleaned up the front and then the bumper is old but we just took the center section out okay and made a roll pan in the middle the hood originally extended all the way down to here oh okay so all that has been reshaped around the corners and and reshape the Hood wow the wheel wells are different yeah because they came down closer to the wheel right so you've kind of swept them back yes yeah geez I'm telling you this thing's beautiful but what an interior original steering wheel yes yes a much coveted steering wheel yes and pretty much an original Dash yeah pretty much you change just the gauges and air conditioner air conditioning I mean she is just gorgeous now it looks a lot longer back here you must have extended these uh about eight inches right here in the center of the fender to accommodate the new exhaust which is I mean you got now a through bumper exhaust correct when I first saw that this looks like almost like Lincoln Premiere but they said well no it wasn't Chrome all the way through what is that the 53 Oldsmobile Grille bar in these uh the fender skirts the fender skirts they were custom made from the roof of an old Cadillac I'm telling you Albert this thing is this is a show stopper thank you you must have something that at least looks Oldsmobile under the hood let's go see what you got okay wow well she says Oldsmobile she definitely says those is it well it's a General Motors 355. Z3 motor and that's a an old Cadillac yeah I mean a classic and you know the Oldsmobile valve covers you got to have that right right yeah it's a beautiful 49 olds and I'm telling you the prettiest one I ever saw thanks man thanks for bringing that beauty [Music] [Music] well Richard it's kind of just so weird I couldn't pass it up I mean that's what it comes down to it's just so weird you don't see these very often this is a Stutz not back in the day studs but that's the stats logo and everything and I can see some Virgil exner in this oh yeah it's all lexner but it's it's crazy I mean you you take the cues from the early stutts like these Mega headlights right and the grill and all that but it's a fiberglass car yeah actually it's carbon fiber really what the car is made out of yeah Titanium with these built on Corvette platforms no these were actually built on Firebird platforms okay where was it built they had made a deal with John DeLorean uh in the 70s to send the chassis over to Italy and they built the custom bodies and and all the interior was customized it always had these big honking headlights and stuff but these caps and stuff weren't in the original were they no all these accessories by less none of them from Dunham Coach Works in boot and he built the corvarado that was in uh Live and Let Die James Bond movies the superfly movies I cut them loose and I let them uh put all his accessories on here here well you know it dresses it up really nicely and you know and I love the wires and then the Vogue Tires yeah can you still get those yeah I think they're still around uh last time I needed a pair yeah they dress up the car too so this was the interior that came with it an 80 whatever four no this isn't the interior these are the seats that we had to work with and I decided I wanted to do the car in black and white to make it formal you know this thing is just so ridiculously over the top I mean this thing is just this is just ridiculous was this original or is that a dress-up no these are touring belts that Les puts on his cars and it's so weird to have this then bow out well he married all that together it's just he put all that together it'll stop you in your tracks a lot of everybody wants to know what it is didn't like Elvis had one of these or Elvis did the Prototype was bought by Elvis and uh Elvis has had a 73 also both those cars are sitting in his Museum in Memphis we showed this car down in Memphis the first car show that they had down there we took first place I think dug it I'm sure though I mean it is Elvis I got to tell you Richard this is such a wild car I love it in a Twisted sort of way well I'm so glad you brought it up I get that a lot 84 stats 84 studs Gary this this is a sweet little sweet little Roadster here this is caught my eye uh well you know it's sparkly green so that helps but it's really an interesting build you did this whole thing yourself right yes everything except for the paint and the upholstery man oh man you got so many interesting touches these fenders are really nice and it looks like I mean is that an aftermarket thing or did you create these yeah those are 36 Ford spare tire covers is that right is that what they are front and back right but in the back can see they're wider right and then the kind of the Bonneville Moon the Moon now you and I talked earlier and you gave me this this load of BS frankly yeah and I bought it I was going well it doesn't sound right but I bought it about this engine it's a V6 Ford it's uh but it's actually a what a Thunderbird right it's a 1983 Thunderbird yeah 3.8 liter V6 so they were still naturally aspirated in 83. they still had the carburetors got the electronic ignition so the carbs are what those are highly 94s but your valve covers are so awesome I mean it looks so period because you were telling me you know this was a six cylinder they experimented with back in like 53 or something like oh really really wait a minute but but you could almost buy it and you could almost buy it how'd you do the valve covers I took a pair of 312 valve covers and narrowed them yeah and then cut cut the the letters for Ford out of another set of valve covers and put those in there so the spacing yeah there's some body work on it just like any other Bodywork they look so period correct yeah I mean it's just like I had no idea Ford made a V6 back then and you know why because they didn't exactly exactly but you did a great job inside too I mean just a beautiful car how about the the dash what's that out of the dash is a steel 34 Ford Roadster when I got it it didn't have any instrument cluster it didn't have any glove box door the crystal door handle shift knob is great what a crazy rear end you've got on this though it's a stock 48 Ford rear end yeah I switched the side housings left to right that puts the spring in front of the rear instead of in the back okay yeah I converted it to open drive shaft I used the flange off the Thunderbird drive shaft that the engine came out of right and mounted emergency brake on there you've done great work and you've come up with some innovative twists and turns no thanks I'm impressed thank you very much Dennis a little green Roadster Tony this is sweet 54 Ford Wagon but it's a two-door obviously we've got some work done what what model is this Dennis this is the custom line Ranch wagon custom line Rancho and it came two-door came two-door very rare you don't see too many of them around and you know what a cool color but this almost looks like a 54 color it is it is a sea Haze green I really dig this thing it sort of you know it catches your eye and it's it's got to be the chop and the chop is you got a lot of chop going there a lot of chop four to five inch chop so it's squashed it down and you've done a lot of work up here too to clean it up sure the Grill's been done over and the Bumper's been changed the headlights have the parking lights and the blinker lights built in give it that clean look yeah because I wonder if you hit him behind the grill or what you did you got a nice interior I mean it's it is black it's very black yes but the seats look real comfy and you've kept a pretty stock looking Dash except for adding a few gauges new gauges and added the air conditioning you got a an automatic but you put the tall stick shift in it correct it's the four speed overdrive automatic and that's got the the windowed uh speedometer too like the T-Birds have exactly and that's what it came with exactly now how about these side skirts that looks like an addition molded in but no that came from the factory stock yes yes it kind of Cruiser skirts from the factory yeah they they truly had a good style in those days now this stock bumper back here correct and stock tailgate but you've this has obviously been shortened correct that had been shortened and the um the lenses are stock also yeah so this would have come with some probably Flathead six in it originally but you've probably changed that let's go see what you got sure all right a Ford engine Ford and a Ford and Ford 351 Windsor oh really clean looking uh you know I love what you did with two-toning the caddy air cleaner that was nice gave it a little little taste difference does she run nice she runs beautiful a lot of beautiful a lot of fun you know it's set up for a driver and we drive it to every event I bet it gets a lot of attention uh where wherever it goes it's amazing how much attention this car gets yeah well it's you know it caught my eye it's just different it's just really a different looking car you brought the only what custom Line Custom line 54 Ford Wagon here correct nice ride thank you Dennis [Music] well Frank this is a screaming purple Mopar here in fact is that is that like plum crazy is that a Mopar color plum crazy that's plum crazy exactly yeah so this is a 68 Fury right 68 Plymouth Fury Three you know what was interesting when I saw this I wasn't exactly sure what it was you've de-badged it pretty much everywhere I think and you know it's so slabsided if it wasn't for that c-pillar on the roof I wasn't sure it was a Mopar that's what gives them away it gives it away totally now these didn't come in plum crazy I don't think no they did not well so you've obviously done a lot of work on this car in a Resto mod weight your pinstriping is really cool it's I thought oh two-tone but then you look in there and there's some green in there yeah there's a three three-tone I'm colorblind so I have a hard time with it trust me it's green okay that's what my wife says trust me it's green but look at this interior man I love the seats what are they out of uh they come out of a 2005 Mercury Montego they're both power it looks like they belong there but it's the dash that just blew me away I'm like it didn't come that way that was a lot of work one of the things I did myself how'd you do that it was it was green it was great the dash pads were the darker green and my wife picked the purple threads yeah oh yeah and I wanted a little stitch in purple I didn't even notice that I wanted a chrome Dash and couldn't quite figure out what I what or how I wanted to do it and the lady that I was talking to suggested to wood grain and boys I mean is it hand wood grain it's high it's a Hydrographics also they like they float that on there yes man I just think that makes the interior I love it it's great and of course the the Mopar C pill here the other thing about your pinstriping your Plymouth that was my idea that's cool I mean the only thing was my idea that's cool and that was the thing when I was trying to figure out what it was I finally oh it must serve Plymouth right 35 Plymouth hood ornament back here she's just she's 68 68 Fury and this thing's a nice shape so it was a 318 car you probably changed 18 two barrels let's go see what you did okay wow so that's no 318. that's uh what is that 360. and it's functional Ram here oh yeah so right through this right there yeah and it's a what is what do you say 360. 360 came out of a dirt track race car so she's probably pretty hot actually uh I really don't want to know job on this Frank I mean thank you appreciate it it's it's an eye-catching car 68 Fury 68 with a touch thank you very much oh man the wheel's a time show here in Macungie p8 is an absolute blast and they fixed me up with a pretty sweet set of wheels what do you think
