Carson only every invited 1st time acts to sit down if they were really exceptional. To them invite them to come back was extremely rare.
If Carson did both to you, doors opened. There was no bigger launch to your comedic career.
I have no doubt that Drew was freaking out for the 60 seconds he sat there. It's a credit to him that he could stay in character while internalizing what just happened.
i actually remember watching this when it was broadcast.
I loved his tv show
The reflections of the lights in his glasses are unfortunate
I remember watching this with my older brother. The "up on the sidewalk, dnk-dnk-dnk" would be called back for years afterwards.
Edit: he had the same/similar set at the time on Just For Laughs. That's where we saw it (from Canuckistan).
The day Drew Carey arrived.
I dont get the mayonaise joke.
Drew Carey was probably the last comedian that Carson broke. Before him was Louie Anderson.
Wow, that was funny and also felt really wholesome!
