you [Applause] could you remain standing or just get back up [Music] would you link arms with someone don't hold hands link all right you don't know her hands have been but arms are safe there's a this is a movie that's that's my favorite movie and I found out that it was a favorite movie of someone else and um there's a line in the movie that says so often we missed the most significant moments in our lives while they're happening and in my prayer and this morning is that we don't miss the moment this church is in your in a strategic place and number of years ago two men who pioneered the significant transition in the way movies were made we was being interviewed he asked us he was asked a question a system how did you come about this and these are his words he said it was like a seaman s II am a same end time opened and we went through it sometimes God will open the scene for us and we will examine it what do you think that means rather than seizing the moment and so I want this to be your prayer it's been my prayer for years and I'm sure it's your prayer probably in different words because you guys speak Texan [Music] let's say these words Lord don't let me miss a single thing you have for me and you have for this church my cry to you today is that this church will fulfill its destiny in every way and I want to be a part of it I know you hear me so thank you for the gay man sometimes God says Amen I believe he's saying Amen to you would you celebrate your pastors men credible people love God [Applause] you can be seated now got a chain letter from somebody and they were talking about pastors in needing new pastors and the thing they said in the letter was kinda like a threat it said past this shame letter on someone else didn't do it and they got their old pastor back you get the pastors you deserve and you must be deserving people to have the kind of people that God's given you little boy was standing in front of the window of a large department store II happen to be looking at the shoes wonderfully dressed woman walked up as she saw him standing there on a heating grate and his feet were bare it was cold and she said son wear your shoes he said my dad's sick right now and he said as soon as it gets well he'll buy me a pair so she took him by the hand and walked into the store to the shoe department as she said to the salesman would you bring me a towel and a bowl of water in three pairs of brand-new socks so he did she sat him down and she washed his feet and dried them and put a pair of the socks on and she said now measure his feet and bring him the nicest pair of shoes so he did all of them the one stood up and tried the shoes out and ran out the door just ran out the door and she she stood there she's paying for it and done well I guess there are other ways to say thank you but then he came back in and when he came back in he walked up to her and grabbed her round the leg and he said are you God's wife she said no honey I'm just one of his children she said I knew you were related to him in some way asked the person are you related to the same daddy I'm related to I just feel that it's important for me to capture the moment that we're in I think I can tie it in in some way but there was a church in South Africa in and I won't tell you the name of the place because you might know of it but there was a significant move of God that was taking place in South Africa and in other parts of the world and this is well established church and when that move seemed to begin to happen in their church one of the leaders sit up and says we don't want that in here we don't want that in here and he says you opened the doors and anybody who wants that and the person who shared the storm he says when he said we don't want that here he said there was a wind that came through the church and it went straight across the street where the number of black Africans were waiting for the bus and they were impacted they were hit by the Holy Spirit they were stretched out on the platforms and they were worshiping and sometimes what we don't want [Music] others are desperate for it and that what we like is for God to come at a time when it's convenient for us a doctor can tell you approximately when the babies do just approximately and unless you do a cesarean and you can you can only say the baby's due at this time the problem is that moves of God don't operate off of caesareans babies come when they're ready to come some of us wish they would come a lot sooner I've never had the privilege of being pregnant and I'm just being kind but I do know that there are moments in God where the indicators say something's moving something's shaking something stirring the the atmosphere of revival renewal call it whatever you want but when God shows up there still people are confused about it under their Pentecost the Bible says the sound came from heaven would you say that the sound came and yet even though the sound came from heaven it was being evaluated by people who weren't in heaven [Music] it's it's always difficult to try to describe something you've never seen before and then when you when you have that experience you evaluate it based upon the kinds of changes that makes in the life of the person who has the experience and so the sound comes from heaven it fills the whole house where they were sitting there waiting for something that Jesus told them was coming but he didn't tell them how it was coming and he didn't tell them all they knew was that they were to wait for the promise somebody say promise for the promise of the Father which you've heard from me and he said he said to them now don't leave Jerusalem until you have been filled with the Holy Spirit don't leave and so they go and they're waiting I don't I don't know how they started waiting but I do know that it's in the waiting it's in the waiting take her rich my soul why because it's in the waiting and sometimes it takes a lot of courage just to keep waiting to keep waiting anything going on yet lady is this water gone down yet send the waiting Spirit of God comes [Music] holy ghost comes they've never had seen it before when the sound filled the house they were all filled with the Holy Spirit flames tongues of fire sat upon each one of them and they began to speak with other tongues us God gave them the words to say what do you think it would have been like to be there look across the room and see somebody with a flame of fire sitting on top of their head and you're staring at them and they respond by asking you why are you staring at me you've had fire on your head I do yes been there 10 minutes he's a kid Jesus put your hand up there kashama tessa kolobok whoa he says what did you just say I don't know I never said that before so all of this phenomena is going on in a moment when no one has the ability to evaluate it because somehow it's hard to evaluate and experience at the same time and those of us who have an experience in the Holy Spirit and those who don't have that experience we are often interrogated by people who don't understand what it is you have and we say it like this somebody said it somewhere and I've just remembered it a man with an experience is not at the mercy of a man with a argument what God's done for you is its own testimony you don't have to try to prove nobody can tell you your testimonials alive because they don't believe it but it's your testimony it happened to me and so rather than let the world define what your experience ought to be rather than let the onlookers who were perplexed amazed astonished confused wondering these are drunk that's right that's what that looks like it looked like they were drunk tell the person next year it looked like they were drunk how can a move of God start with people who look like they're drunk well what this drunk look like it looks the same all over the world no one has to translate drunk for you you see drunk in Japan it looks like drunk in Dallas it looks like drunken Pittsburgh it looks like drunken LA drunk is drunk and when people are drunk somehow they don't always speak clearly funniest thing I've ever seen is two drunks talking to each other there's a sense that I have that there's something that I want from God and what God wants to give me is saying do you really want this yes are you going to evaluate it before I give it to you or after I god I just want it are you gonna critique it now I just want it you can be embarrassed by it it I may be but I still want it there's some things I'm so desperate for I don't care I just you need to have the Holy Ghost I don't care and when you have that there is something that God can do for you that he can't do for you when you're saying okay God here's what I want and I want it like this and I want to persuade and if I could have it like this and if I can have it in five minutes and you know just get to the football game and time this you're not ready guy came to the pasture so someone backed I would be back - he says I'm really desperate forgotten what he says you really does bring something desperate he says yes okay he's haven't got a Baptist she said all right and he baptized him but he held him under the water after he said in the name of the Father Son and Holy Ghost and he kept holding him there and he was strong and he kept holding them there and this guy started fighting because you can't breathe underwater he kept holding him there and finally he let him up and he came up what were you trying to do he says did you want to breathe while you're under there he said I did he says when you are as desperate for him as you were for hair then you're ready convenience makes it difficult to be desperate it just does it makes it different we can be hungry and thirsty and not even know we're there we are so caught up with what we're doing and in the moment in time God will come he will show you somebody who has a touch of God on their life and you look at that and you say God that's what I want that's what I want a couple of Monday's ago I got a phone call from a friend just out of the blue he says Joseph I was thinking about you heard about your your building project and things that you guys are going through and he said duh and God said to call you and he gave me this scripture it's not my mind [Music] it's not by power but it's by my spirit says Lord began a building project some time ago and and it's it looks like it's just gone the exact opposite of the way God said it was going to go I dunno why at times people feel like he's jealous sneaky he gets you into something when you thinking it's going to be this way and he gave me that word and beginning to say to me Joseph God said to tell you the hands that laid the foundation we'll finish it and I'm sitting there just about the ball two hours later I got a phone call from her her CFO she says I've just got this notice and it was a terrible notice but you know what I loved I loved the fact that God gave me the good news before she had the bad news and I can even I can either focus on the bad news or I can focus on the good news and I can say like the text says and you need to get the message from this morning cuz this sure isn't the same message but he said to a has who was afraid of something that was going to take place he says it will not happen it won't come to pass there's some things that you and I are afraid are going to take place and we don't realize that there there are prayers that have gone up before God that he cannot ignore there's a cry that he's been hearing that he can ignore and even though you hear people saying if the country's going to held in the hand basket but there are too many intercessors there too many people who are crying out and someone is saying the bowl is being filled and when the bowl is filled he tips it over on us and I said to Pastor I said so many places I've been going since that word came in the scriptures not by might not by powers by my spirit and the thing that I want to say to you this morning is that faith isn't magic it's not magic when when we say I believe God there's a there's a point in which it becomes critical for us that when God speaks to us he says it like this I have spoken this word but my spirit will gather God speaks but the Holy Spirit gathers or assembles say that place God speaks but the Holy Spirit assembles number of years ago before I knew better I waited to Christmas Eve to open the toy that I got for our kids it's a nice sizable box and I opened it and there were all these pieces lying in the box and and I put the top back on it and there I saw those words for the first time some assembly required you said got a word yeah you did but there's some assembly required there's some things that God says I'm gonna do this but I've got to do this and this and the problem is some of the things that you are waiting for you don't have yet they are somewhere else something in African something in Asian something in Didsbury and God is assembling the scripture says in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and the earth was without form and void and darkness upon the face of the deep and the Holy Spirit brooded over the face of the water but the term is the term that describes the activity of a hand resting on her eggs waiting for them impart heat to them watching them waiting for them to bring forth and there's something about some eggs they aren't ready to come at the same time others are some of what I'm waiting for the Holy Spirit is sitting on them if if a fly wants to give birth doesn't take long but if another thing wants to give birth some of the things that you're waiting for us so big it's taking a whole lot more heat it's taking a whole lot more time to get it to you God when is it going to take place conjugator he said it's in the waiting - courage my soul take because I say take courage God hasn't forgotten you he hasn't given up on you and every now and then he'll come and say to you I haven't forgotten you thus says the Lord I haven't forgotten you and then you go in another two years Hey god yes about that word he says I haven't forgotten you feels like it he says but I haven't forgotten you and here's my need my need us understand that one of the translations that says faith without works is dead is faith without corresponding action is dead your faith has to be correspondent by an action so by faith he left home by faith he built an ark by faith he pleased God by faith she found the strength to give birth by faith all by faith always has to have an action verb that follows it you can't do faith in your head that's Christian science which isn't Christian in the first place it's believing God but believing God isn't a mental dear belief in God is a word deal faith process it and second Corinthians 4 uses by faith they spoke so we - by the hearing of faith so we believe therefore we speak if God tells you I'm gonna fix it he's gonna fix it the thing that needs to be associated with my praise and with my faith our faith and praise got a beautiful friend he loves Jesus businessman successful businessman who went through a really tough season and in this tough season none of his friends were encouraging him and God said write him a letter and I wrote him a letter in the middle of the night and then a cinnamon offering the next day he got the letter that night he said he got up to see who else is picking on him and there was my letter encouraging him let that sit over here we call that placeholder so later I'm sitting in Cancun on vacation and ethics of issues with God you ever have any issues of God Derek Prince said God told him he says when he was in heaven he said he said God spoke to things and he says first of all all progress in the Christian life is by faith all progress in the Christian life despite they say that all right let's get all people to say all progress come on all prime your sin life is by faith without faith no what we say well you know it's hard to please God without faith no it's not hard to please God without faith it's impossible to please God without faith and then he said he's the second thing he said God spoke to me says your thoughts are as loud in heaven as your words now that's the wild part that's security because what I feel about God he already knows what I think about God he already knows if he asked me a question he's not looking for an answer he already knows so if he says son do you have a problem with me oh no he already knows do you have an anger problem no sir and then he proves it to you and once he does it over a period of time then you start to say yes what is it he asked me one day do you prominent girl I said no and I went to the bookstore and a guy pulled into the space I was waiting for and in the hall came out and I'm I get out of my car and I walk up to this guy and I said roll the window down roll it down and I had this anger look rolled it down he wrote it down and he said what's the problem father and I realized I had my clergy collar on that morning I got in my car i sat there my hands were shaking you could have started a fight on the streets of Washington DC as a god he said I'm ask you a question yeah do you have a problem with anger I said yeah he said that's all I wanted you to say agree with your adversary especially if it's God so several years later he says son I say yes sir do you have problem with lust I say yes sir he said why'd you answer so quick I saw so what'd you do those other guys I don't I don't my name in charisma magazine Christianity today yeah whatever it is yes yes yes so David says so that you maybe just when you judge and write when you make a statement God is right whenever he says anything it's not by might not by power but is by my spirit so when Jesus says and I want you to want to say this is not criticism but when when we say in faith to a tree be rooted up or to a mountain be picked up and be moved it's not your words that do it it's the Spirit of God that doesn't it's the spirit who forms nature God speaks and the spirit says I got this the Holy Ghost is the executive agent of the Trinity so that when God speaks something the Holy Spirit says I'll carry that out Jesus brought it over into the New Testament and he says it like this if I by the spirit cast out demons Jesus didn't cast out demons as God he casts out demons as dependent upon God as you and I are and he knew that in order for those demons to go the Holy Spirit had to do it come out in the name of Jesus and so like in that movie remember the movie where oh where the guy dives into the body and I remember the matrix me being amazed in that matrix it dies into the sky when Jesus says to the demonized guy come out what's your name our name is legion 2,000 of us it's coming Jesus doesn't go into the guy he doesn't go into psyche that's the Holy Spirit's job Holy Spirit's job to change your husband huh no I'm gonna go and look for some amens I'll be right back okay just I know there's some here probably the husband who's afraid to say it so Jesus says if I cast out demons by the Holy Spirit whenever I look at something when Jesus says if you say to this mulberry tree be uprooted and be cast into the sea it will obey you why will it be obey me because somehow the Holy Spirit will carry out the action that needs to be carried out because while I'm doing is I'm waiting for God to do something and I don't know that we are both on different timetables [Music] take courage my soul sin lady said no hating the difference between Saul and David walkin see how long my daddy worked no matter what she asked her response was still the same my daddy's working she said as she walked back to the car with no answers at all she said isn't amazing she doesn't know where he is doesn't know what he's doing doesn't know when he left doesn't know when he's coming back all she knows is that he's working can you say my daddy's working it may not look like it but he's working it may not appear to be anything going on but he is working so how do you respond when you can't see him working you say then the way they take care is myself be thankful this wealthy man this missus man [Music] his son sent an answer to me because I was in my in Cancun my wife is down at the pool I'm upstairs having intense fellowship with God my wife and I have been since fellowship do we don't argue we just have talking to it cuz I know he already knows I said hey what's up with the sea the harpist thing I've been given I had x given and I'm telling you I should have a harvest by now and it ain't here and I empty my heart satisfied myself that I communicate with the Lord and I went to the swimming pool three days later I'm sitting in Oakland California and this man's father came to me and he says can I speak to you and I said can we do it tomorrow said no I need to do it tonight I said man I'm tired he says I need to talk to you and I said ok come on you know some people who need to talk and they don't stop there like the woman when Jesus said how did you have that problem and the Bible says she told him everything I've been around people and that's my friend I mean he's gonna talk and I just said ok come on come on come on he came and sat in my hotel room and he said my son gave me something to give to you and he took a piece of paper out of this you guys know what a check I mean check paper looks like it's not like another any jet paper has a distinct look to it and when he pulled that piece of paper out of his pocket I got rid of my jet lag I was like I was just kind of alright ok yeah it was a significant check it was yeah it was five figures tell you there's more where that came from and when he said that I thought I heard a voice say even though it doesn't seem like it doesn't appear like it your dad is working your dad is working he said through hustle that to the king of Israel the king of Judah in order to Elisha he says make this valley full of ditches start digging he says water's coming start digging you won't see wind and you won't see rain but this Valley will be filled with water I'm saying to this church start digging start digging water is coming to this house God's to Trinity Church and what he wants before he comes is he yes make it full of ditches you won't see when you will see rain you're preparing you're preparing for people that you haven't seen yet so here's my analogy I want you to see what kind of person this was see the problem with the promise is who made it what kind of resources do they have to fulfill it what what kind of power do they have to bring it about you got a promise and I used to surrounded you with our church I said if I called him today and told him I need $50,000 today is Sunday I said I need it in my bank by thirsty he says simiiar bank details and it would be in there Wednesday I know he'll do it I know this is kind of first thing is if he tells me he's gonna do it he's gonna do it but what if I said okay I'm gonna wait till Wednesday to make sure it's in there and then I'll call him thank you I got this crazy thought in my mind I have to share it I'm a TD so I go places that other people don't go and a lot of my words of knowledge really are part of Tourette's my daughter was babysitting a eight year old guy and his parents said be sure he goes to the bathroom before he goes to bed make sure and so they said go he's gonna have to go he says go anyway I want to go so they went into the bathroom with him and turn the water on while he's standing there he looked at me said that ain't gonna work and I think there's some of us who feel like no matter what we do it ain't gonna work but Thanksgiving is prerequisite to receiving the promise it's saying lord I praise you I bless you God you did it you said you were going to do it and I know it's done I thank you God here's what Jesus says and here's what I want to say to you the nobleman in John my son is dying come and help come and do something Jesus says go home your son lives and you in home and Jesus said it like this unless you people see signs and wonders you're not gonna believe signs and wonders are essential to the underpinning of our conviction to believe that God can do all he has promised to do in an atmosphere like this morning God wants to do something sometimes I see God wanting to do something but I know I got some other things to do but let me just let me just warn you he's coming but not on your timetable and the question is were you adjust to his schedule or do you want him to adjust to yours Lord whatever you're doing in this season don't do it without me don't do it without me Lord whatever you're doing in this season don't do [Music] don't do it without me sing it again [Music] whatever you doing in this season don't do it with her me don't do it without me some people are saying there's no need for all that now just it's okay that's good but we you know we're trying to reach people now who don't understand all of that and I'm thinking so you want me to tone my worship down for a guy who was at the rock concert yesterday with no shirt on striped face drunk stage-diving and you don't want me to put my hands up because it might offend in [Music] God doesn't want us to be seeker-sensitive he wants us to be spirit sensitive and he can choose a place he can choose an incident that might cause someone else to be scandalized but that place of scandal is the place of their deliverance the same with me [Music] naman is a healer in Israel I'll go down took a lot of money a lot of clothes big reward he gets down there and he'd lie she won't even come out and talk to him and he just simply says he's nibbling on this bagel naman see he says yeah I'll get her he was coming are you home what do you want me tell him go tell him to dip in Jordan no seven times it's making an even number seven times and and he'll be clean and they told [Music] and he could suspended he get suspended because how he thought he was going to be prayed for it didn't happen that way and yet my problem pastor is that he has never seen the healing service he's never seen anybody healed of leprosy first time you ever heard of it but he has an idea of house was I thought he would come and lift his hand over them no the problem is I'm looking for God to do something the way I expect him to do it and when he doesn't do it the way I expect him I walk away offended until somebody says hey isn't this what you said you wanted yes and do it and here's the thing I believe God selects he the Greek word is a great dose it means to choose specifically God chooses the weak things to confound the strong he chooses the foolish things to confound the wise discriminately looks over the pile and says I'll take that and he chooses the things that are not [Music] to confound the things that are he chooses and he will choose a place like Jordan that compared to your ecologically sound Rivers in Damascus has no comparison to what he's asking you to step in Jordan you're asking me to step in muddy water brown water and I'll come out clean God can do that a black cow give me green grass and give white milk need that stuff like that and my need is to say God whatever yeah but if you had for us we want it we won't get in your way Keisha Rowe wonderful theologian he calls those places the scandal of particularity the scandal but particular God will choose a particular place and you'll put his glory there and you'll say well I want the glory but I know I'm glad you guys says well you can't have that without the glory you want the glory you got to take that to with transit same Jesus normally I'm discriminating about what I eat where I eat who I hang out with what movies i watch and I'm pretty good at it but I don't want to miss anything you have because I evaluate it from the place of sighted I want all that you have any way you want to give it to me I'll say yes to you I say yes to you he wanted to be healed he said God please send somebody help me please send somebody heal the Pentecostal preacher who was he's just all over the place he came bouncing into the guy's room sat down on this bed hey how you doing in this guy said get out of here he leaves this is God I need to send some buddies that I just did him he says him you're not gonna like all that God does before he does it but you will like it after don't evaluate it right here right now say it's not by mine it's not by power but by my spirit lift your hands Holy Spirit you are welcome here come flood this place and fill the pastor's mr.
