Bisexual Reacts To 'I'm in Love with the Villainess' Episode 1 (Reaction & Review)

day everybody it is kalexin here doing my reaction and review to I'm in love with the villainous episode one I'm super excited but before we get into it let me remind you guys that if you want to see because I'm not entirely sure like how in demand reactions for this show is but I'm really excited to watch it and so I thought that I would you know do a little sneaky recording session I mean as you guys can see this is not my office this is not my house so I don't get home until next week but I really really wanted to react to the show so this is how we're doing it so if anything's kind of weird or like I don't know off-putting like if it doesn't sound like my setup and clearly it doesn't look like my setup I will be home again uh next week so please uh bear with me as I navigate recording in a place I don't normally record in and so before we get into it I always like to sort of talk about what I know about a show before we get into the actual real action and in terms of this one I know the premise I know that it's an office worker lady and she plays this otome game there are three princes but she's kind of like not interested in them she's kind of like screw the princess I want the villainous and I'm assuming in the continuity of the actual otome game in the show you can't romance her but she gets transported into the world of the game now I don't usually watch isakai anime um you know I play some isakai games like Twisted Wonderland is like oh you're a real person that gets transported to Twisted Wonderland but I I haven't really watched an anime like that uh ever so I don't know about like the convention of the genre like the reason why I'm interested in this one particularly is because it's like Sapphic Yuri whatever you want to call it it's gay right it's that it seems to be gay right that's the first thing you know as a professional bisexual we gotta check it out but uh that's not the only reason like it's subverting sort of the expectations and subverting the the tropes that I do understand at least the otome game tropes I don't know if it'll subvert the e-sakai tropes but the otome game is inherently subverted in the sense of like I don't want any of the guys at the game tells who you're supposed to pick I want the girl the only other thing that I know is like when I first saw I guess the promotion for the show I was like oh my God she has curly hair right the villainous has curly hair that's not really something you see with anime characters a lot I have really curly hair obviously so it just made me happy right you know because a lot of Anime characters they have straight hair maybe they have like giant like drill hair but usually like it's straight or maybe a little wavy but she has actual ringlets makes me happy I'm pretty sure that that's it that I have to theorize about I also don't know the genre like I'm assuming it'll be kind of a comedy but I I don't know if it'll be like that there's an existential threat in this world and we actually have to like deal with the threat or if it'll be more like kagiasama which does have a plot but it's more like character driven scenarios contained in an episode if that makes sense you know like it's there's character driven and then there's like existential threat coming to kill us all I have a feeling it'll be more like internal character plot than like Big Bad plot but that begs the question like is the antagonist going to be be like another girl or maybe even the guys that'd be fun if the guys were like hey this isn't how things are supposed to be right like you know what I mean like if the guys are like hostile you know like just to the idea that they're not the ones being romantic like they become self-aware I don't know that's kind of a fun idea that they may be like the rules are reversed if you're going after the villainous there needs to be somebody that gets in the way it could be one of the boys or it could be another girl I don't know like how does the world react to the shake up and the dynamic that's an interesting thing to think about I think the only thing I was gonna say was is that sometimes the plot for isakai is like I'm here and I want to go home right like Twisted Wonderland has that where the main character is transported into Twisted Wonderland but the entire plot thread like that's not the entire plot thread because obviously uh you know if you don't know Twisted Wonderland it's all Disney villain boys and they all have trauma and you have to fix them you have to give them therapy that is what Twisted Wonderland is so each book has a plot with one of the different villains that you know by the end you're supposed to resolve their trauma but like the plot for the main character I guess I should say is like she wants to go home that's the whole thing so I don't know if it'll be like that I know some anime do this thing where it's like they do choose to leave because it's like I need to go back to real life like kind of a Peter Pan thing right like you go to Neverland and then you come home and you're ready to grow up like sort of like that right but then they find the person they were in love with in the game or like in the isakai they have like a real life kind of body double or equivalent and it's like this red ribbon of Fate thing like We'll always find each other it's almost like another Lifetime right and so I could see this ending with like her going back to her you know regular job and seeing like the villainous on the street and like regular clothes and they know each other but she doesn't quite know what like there's a whole thing right and so yeah that's all I know or guess about the show there's a lot of guessing in there okay so I think that's all that I have to talk about if I think of anything else I'll let you know but let's get into it yeah so screw the princes I me too you know like when I see that hair I Fall In Love oh I think this is so cute so this is I guess before like this is what she's imagining yeah because I guess she loses right I'm in love with villainouses too I don't know if you guys have noticed but my whole aesthetic is based off of Neapolitan from Ruby but yeah that was a good intro I mean that's kind of what I figured out right but I kind of like this like like it's not like I like you really like that sort of Trope I am a fan of and then it's also like you have that like peasant princess Dynamic like there are a lot of good tropes in here I feel like I'm gonna have the Time of My Life um oh there's another girl oh okay so maybe my theory was kind of right those are the boys those are the princes oh we have like a maid or like a butler uh handmaiden not Butler handmade the song is catchy too oh wait it's okay okay monsters okay cool it's funny how all of these otome games have fire water and like air like Twisted Wonderland has that too oh oh These I love these little still oh bad guy they're bad people oh my goodness oh okay so this may have like plot I may have been wrong I may have been incorrect those looked like mysterious fandom thieving people I'm excited now I mean I was excited before but now I'm like ooh plot the plot yep I I feel that I mean I just graduated from school so not anymore but I used to be at school from 8 A.M to like 8 P.M so I understand oh also a lot of isakai is like you die and that's how you get into the world so I kind of wonder if that's you know what I mean like we have absolutely no context for how she got in there the TV glitched ever so slightly I like her voice too she has that commanding Royal presence oh I like the design s other girls they're cute I like the pink haired one she's gonna be so off pudded oh okay so like her progress has been saved this is so cute I like she has a cute voice too like the protagonist has a cute voice and the villainous has like a deep voice what oh my god oh sis oh no we're starting off a little strong right now this is so funny oh dear oh man she's gonna be so like caught off guard like I bet nobody acts that way around her at all oh now I love that oh my God that's yeah that's what she's invested for that's so me too I mean I would let Neo bully me if I was in that situation I would let her bully me oh dear okay but yeah the silver hair girl that was in the op whoa oh wait they're her like lackeys uh oh my God how am I supposed to react to this this is such a like I just love how off-putting it is and how like uncanny it is like there's nothing that you can do I mean that's kind of abusive but I'm assuming I'm assuming it'll get better damn oh my God I feel like this is a very realistic depiction though of somebody like from the modern world that falls into the games oh that's that's dude and definitely not what's going on I'm assuming maybe the silver hair girl will get jealous and that's why they had that suspicious look in the op oh this Show's so fun so far oh they're roommates so was that her friend I thought that she was one of the flunkies that was just empathetic but oh okay so she's just her friend they like didn't explain anything and I really like that like like you know what I mean like they just put you right into the world and like the daily antic oh she's so she was so pretty in that white dress oh [ __ ] yeah so there may be like crazy [ __ ] happening huh this is so me I feel like I'm being read to filth right now like this little doubt I mean oh so that's nice I guess I really like that girl with the pink hair oh she wants to be the only one to do it I think that she already submits to you just not in the way that you want oh my God that's so true like it makes sense like how she rationalize it like I'm convinced uh I love her hair her hair is so I'm so happy I mean it makes her stand out but it's also just like finally yeah I where what do the teachers think about this I mean she's royalty so I don't think that like they can do much but yeah they're kind of zooming through like school life ah oh she's so cute she's gonna make her have a mental breakdown oh my goodness I love it like oh that's so sweet damn she's like you'll just have to try harder oh man they're so dramatic and so funny maybe she gets jealous I thought she was gonna get jealous of the princess but maybe she'll be jealous because she'll like Ray the silver hair girl um oh I see so like she's broken the game I mean I'm assuming she's gonna like make the princes to make her jealous I guess I like the freckles on the other one oh my goodness oh my gosh is that I say good day everyone at the beginning oh she thinks that it's not real that's interesting like that she's joking oh hello the boys yeah I know she just does not give a [ __ ] I if I was in an otome game I would probably like if I was in this game I'd probably like the first guy like he's giving me the vibe ah the silver-haired guy though that reminds me of Vesper Noir if you guys know but his personality I don't know I'll probably like rod okay yeah this guy seems like the soft-spoken like femboy all right oh okay so he's Thane oh she likes Thane the most oh okay oh Dad she is straight up exposed her uh oh oh yeah she is cute she's like how do you know my secrets how do you know whoa load it up from me here oh no well that's not good uh oh I don't think he cared much either way no oh I feel bad yeah he doesn't seem to give a [ __ ] anyway so oh okay oh no oh but she knows all this I wonder if this is like you know second run or first one like you know like did she play the whole game before and this is her second time around like she seems to know a lot oh see she knows all that she can help giving me like Twisted Wonderland Vibes like the main character that like knows everything and has to give all these people Theory oh boy meanwhile they look so damn she's like I love scheming I love her friends too they're just like [Music] yeah like stopping is admitting defeat oh my goodness oh my God you guys have exams already she's been in the game for like a week I was gonna say we'll see if it's only been a week at the school that kind of implies to me that Rey has played the game before because they've only been in school a week so how would she know all that stuff about thing unless you played the game before or already or got significant progress damn yeah I mean she thinks of it is playing because it's all a game right oh okay this is getting interesting I like how she challenges her too like she's not entirely submissive she's still challenging damn they're gonna have a duel oh okay I love it like her little laugh damn I'm so glad I'm not in school anymore yeah so she has played before oh good yeah that's good we love to see it yeah see that's different though oh she's so pretty with her hair up is she saying miss out loud no no it's just in her head whoa what for simping in her head that's not nice oh okay magic this is what I want to hear about oh okay there are four elements oh okay in Twisted Wonderland it's earth water and fire question mark I think Earth and wind is just the same thing like it's just combined together I mean I guess elements as a magic system is just common to begin with but it's just funny uh the little cafe hello what was that and they even have labels gems like in the Twisted Wonderland wands I wonder how like I mean I wonder how common it is obviously Twisted Wonderland's my only reference so I just wonder how common the Magic Gem on the end of the wand and the elements and stuff is like for other otome games oh her it's water oh that's nice water versus fire intentional she's Faking It yeah oh she's trying to look bad interesting now they're all intrigued oh he has a little earring I like that oh love triangles wait did she win or not we didn't actually see bro harassment but I guess she doesn't see them as real people because they're in a game I actually I really like the maid design I like her a lot I have a thing for redheads but anyway oh I see so it wasn't like decided right there oh dear her hair I love how it gets bigger sometimes like the ones around her shoulders oh damn thing looks so fist oh bye like a couple of points I love how he's like such a chill dude but he's also super smart oh yeah oh oh what oh oh she like researched I kind of love that oh that's so funny her hyper fixation uh oh but now will the magic be the thing that yeah but she missed on purpose so that's what I don't understand did she purposely try to lose like she's so convinced wait unmeasurable what the [ __ ] does that mean did they know that she missed the target uh damn like it's harder to not hit the target on purpose than to actually hit the target is that why that's so cool I'm assuming that that's the reason right well they also got their magic measured at that orb so I guess she didn't want the lady to freak out and that's why she ran away like she knew that she had immeasurable magic so she was like I measured by like you know I guess that that was also the intention is that she didn't want it to be brought to Claire's attention at that moment okay so now that we're kind of just going through the end credits I don't think I'll do a screenshot per screenshot review of this show if you guys watch my other videos I did do that for leg attack on Titan and shadows house and things like that but I feel like that this show is much more a comedy and so I don't really feel the need to do the screenshot thing I will say we zoomed it started really fast the pacing at the beginning was really fast that's not a bad thing but it was fast I was like oh my goodness then as we got through the first week of school life like the first half of the episode I would say was establishing and like just zooming through like showing you their interactions so you understand them the second half was focused on that like exam thing so I thought that the pacing as a whole was split very well but man this show was zooming like they showed so many little interactions this is definitely probably something that I would watch Twilight that I would watch twice uh probably in English on my next watch oh oh that's interesting that you may yeah part-time job is the maid okay but yeah I thought that Claire is a really endearing character um just in the sense that like I just love villains I know endearing he's a weird word because she's so mean but I mean endearing in terms of like you know she is the the definition of it's not like I like you you know like she tries to be sort of mean but she has all these like cute faces a cute facial expressions you know so I guess this would imply like I don't know how do we explain this I don't know how concrete it is you know but I'm assuming that that would mean that Claire is bi if she likes Prince Thane whereas Rey it's sort of like we don't oh my goodness I'm sorry I'm with Ray it's sort of like we don't know I'm apologizing to the microphone not you guys anyway and so I really really enjoyed that I think that that was really really fun um I do think that there will be like big plot I don't know like big emotional plot stuff going on just based on like the op had some very mysterious things going on I think that the love triangle they're setting up is kind of interesting because it seems like Prince Rod is now interested in Rey but Rey just does not give a [ __ ] about any of them and then I also wonder if the friend I didn't catch the name of the friend I think that what I'm gonna do is make a little chart with all their names or something because you know that's something that I was thinking about what other series was I watching where I was just like especially because it's week to week as opposed to watching it all at once I feel like that I should have a little reminder of who's who just you know so you guys don't get frustrated with me especially I think it was uh no it wasn't oceanoco because that was fine it was Arcane Arcana was like I need to make a chart because I had no idea if you guys have watched Arcane who's silco silico who's silico was like for most of the season so all right not most of the Season sorry most of the first three episodes Don't flame don't flame please and so yeah uh I really enjoyed this I thought that this was really fun um I like again all of this sort of like subversions and I like that Claire too like she's fighting back you know what I mean you're sorry Ray I'm gonna get them a little confused I like that Ray too she's fighting back you know she's not losing on purpose like she actually does want to best her and even though that she's letting because I was like oh she's letting Claire like Bully her you know which is fine but like that's a sort of like you know that is submitting I guess but like Claire doesn't see it that way because she's like why won't she submit to me right and so I like though that Claire like she didn't lose on purpose but that would Ray didn't lose on purpose but that would um jeopardize her position at the school anyway so I guess she you know that was never going to happen but I just like the fact that she isn't afraid to like put Claire in her place because I was like oh is she gonna be like sort of like step on me like I'll let you bully me this entire time but like she'll let the bullying happen but not like it be like submissive about it you know what I mean I don't know it's hard to explain but I also think it's because of the conversation she had with her friend right I also think that she sort of changed her mind you know like her friend was like hey you're you're kind of freaking her out by being so amicable and so I think that also maybe that's when Rey decided okay so to get her to like me now I need to actually like stop being like a dorm hat and just letting her do all this stuff I need to actually like rival her I need to be her rival so I like that progression as well I think that that's what changed you know the subtitles were going by very fast I found as well because the pacing was so fast and so it was kind of hard to like read everything but like I said I will re-watch the first episode in English but yeah like nine out of ten so funny like so just immediately Charming I really enjoyed it I think the princes are interesting too because like you don't really know what they're gonna be about yeah like there there may be some stuff that's subverted with them um Thane looks suspicious at the moment just because he's quiet and like oh you know he's like brooding and he has two older brothers so he'll never be in line for the threat like we could get like a Hans situation you know from Frozen where it's like I'll never be in line in my own kingdom so like he could be nefarious but like if there's anything that I know from I don't know other anime not like this because like I said first isakai but like it's the Femme boy you have to watch out for like you know the one that seems nice and sweet and like you know the blonde hair one like I think that he like I think his name is you it's you that like you know on the surface level Thane just sort of seems like there may be something serious going on with him and possibly suspicious for that reason but like if you know other shows have taught me anything it's you that we need to watch out for it's always the ones that look like the pure little cinnamon rolls but anyway I think that's all I have to say I think I'm excited to see more of the maid character which they seem to be alluding to next episode I'm interested to again like will that silver hair girl that's Rey's roommate will she like kind of fall for Ray and there'll be a complicate I love me a complicated love triangle you know like I love also if I'm looking up here and then looking up here I'm sorry like again not my setup I'm trying to look into the camera but I keep getting distracted by seeing myself above the camera to the left anyway uh and so I wonder like I always love me a complicated love triangle I think that that'll be really fun if that's something that happens too but yeah it seems pretty clear where we're going next in terms of like because Rey's the one that says that she gets a part-time job right and she's in the maid outfit so you know more uh cute interactions and stuff like that so I hope that you guys enjoyed my reaction let me know if there's anything that I should keep in mind anything that I should do better for next week you know like just like uh audio wise I'll be back home so like not stuff like that but just like if you guys are interested in a more long form review or looking at things more in detail but I think that this kind of suffices especially because this isn't like a murder mystery anime the reason why I do that for Shadow's house and like Attack on Titan is because there are like Mysteries like we need to theorize whereas this like I'm kind of comfortable just having watched it and being like yeah that was like really good I liked this this and this but if there's any details that you guys thought I missed and need another like look at just let me know and I'll uh show was airing right and so like oh I'm so excited that I get to do things in a timely manner where people can tell me stuff and by the next week I'll know about the stuff like you know what I mean because you know having school and having to wait until the weekend to try to get stuff out and stuff being like late and like by the time I get the first episode out the second one's already out like you know what I mean and so I'm so uh grateful that now you know because my University's over and like I'm done going to school full time like now I can do this full-time and so if you want to support
