I liked it better when I thought the clones were just never trustworthy from the start, that they were always programed to be loyal to the Republic / Palpatine. And the Jedi just never figured that out.

Huh. In hindsight, we never really knew what the inhibitor chips actually showed/changed in the Clones to make them turn. Giving them flashes of false memories and editing what they remember would be an interesting way to take it.
