Best Laptop Configuration For Learning Machine Learning and Deep Learning

hello all my name is Krishna and welcome to my youtube channel in this particular video we'll discuss about which laptops you should basically buy if your learning machine learning or deep learning and not say or I'll say both machine learning and deep learning so since you are planning for a transition towards data science make sure you learn both machine learning and deep learning and what is the laptop configuration that we will basically be used I'm going to discuss in this particular video again guys I am not promoting any of the products of any laptops as such but I'm strictly going to say you some of the configuration that you should basically use and always remember if you are planning to buy these laptops right and if you have planned that you're going to learn both machine learning and deep learning then only buy otherwise I've seen many people what they do is that they they make up a plan that okay they are going to make a transition towards data science they'll start the machine learning part and after that they'll buy a very high-end system you know which will be very very costly and after some days they'll just leave it so if you are planning to complete both machine learning and deep learning then only buy this particular laptop and this particular question was raised by many of my subscribers like which laptop to buy if you are making a transition towards data science now when I say data science that basically both machine learning and deep learning so let us understand what configuration you will basically require in order to you know learn machine learning and deep learning so some of the configuration that I'll say is that guys if you have RAM of 8gb right minimum of 8gb and I will suggest you that yes you should have minimum of 8gb or it can be also 16gb or 32gb because as the RAM size increases definitely your cost also increases right apart from that if you have a hard disk of 512 GB or 1tb it is more than sufficient and you should also think about the processors the processor that you should basically use should be Intel because they are quite efficient okay and when you are taking Intel make sure that you buy an i5 processor at least okay and you can or based on the generation again the cost we'll be increasing so if you go towards I seven I nine and that time the cost will be increasing again guys I am telling you to buy a laptop only when you are planning to learn both machine learning and deep learning now this kind of configuration right about the RAM about the processor is fine for machine learning but when you move into deep learning right in deep learning whenever you're creating neural networks at that time you will be requiring high-end GPUs okay now when we try to add GPUs in this kind of laptop the cost usually increases okay so I'm going to refer you some of the laptops which are in the range in a very pretty much good range and I think most of the students buy that okay you can basically use it it is basically like a gaming laptop only in gaming laptop the kind of GPUs that they are using is in media Nvidia is one of the best GPUs guys and again there are different versions in Nvidia like GTX one zero five zero one zero six zero one zero seven zero I personally use in my company something called as P 5000 okay and I also use a higher version of P 6,000 ok so so this is all Nvidia's a different different version Pete 5000 I have recently trained somewhere around you know 50 to 60,000 images just in 10 minutes ok I had actually developed our convolution neural network so that is the speed of P 5000 again be 5000 is very very costly okay when I say that that alone one device cost you somewhere on one neck 60,000 one like 70,000 that range only the GPU part right other system that is basically you will accommodate that then again it is going to cost you another 60 or 70 thousand separately okay now if you think that laptop is very very costly you guys go with the desktop okay because you can basically create a custom desktop you can buy your own GPU separately separate ramp substrate Hardison you can basically integrate those okay and they are stores you know online online shops basically way where they do all these things offline stores are also there with you go and tell you them that what kind of custom desktop you basically want so make sure that you have 16gb in that fight will GB hardness or 1tb hard this right apart from that the GPU part that you can select again the most basic version I will tell you that if you are still learning deep learning just take GTX one zero five zero and make sure that the RAM inside that particular GPU it is also called as V Ram okay so that Ram should be at least 4gb okay so the GPU Ram should be somewhere on 4gb to start with because you'll be able to execute a bigger program which has 10,000 20,000 images on deep learning quickly so that will also give you an idea and the reason I am telling you to select NVIDIA GPU is that you have various libraries like CUDA libraries which will work very much better with the tensor flow that is most popularly used for you creating neural networks and similarly kara's version also which can be used in pi torch will also be used okay so this this is the GPUs provide very good libraries like CUDA libraries which you can integrate with all those things and you can execute your program very quickly so make sure that if you are planning to have a desktop and again if you are planning to have a desktop so based on the game never I mean the game or laptop itself it will be like half the cost of that only one problem is with the desktop is the portability cannot carry the desktop everywhere and go around right so that is the thing that it will cover but if you are a student I think you can go ahead with desktop or a laptop the the recent one of the laptop I'll definitely suggest you something called as MSI laptop and that the link is basically given in the description it has 16 GB RAM ok and it has somewhere around 512 GB of hard disk apart from that it has GTX 1 0 6 0 GPU with 4 GB RAM ok so this is more than sufficient and cost some new somewhere around 63 K ok because this is the most feasible laptop that I found out still they are more high-end game game development laptops all sorry for the games the laptops are basically present where you can play high graphics design games right so those laptops also you can buy but the cost will go more than one lakh now some people may also ask that sir can't we use mac pro book yes you can definitely use Mac Pro broke only for machine learning okay for deep learning it will start again it will become a little bit slow for deep learning you need GPUs okay and it is better that you have that particular GPS so that when you are able to practice in your local laptop right suppose you get hired formal for a particular company what they're also you'll be able to you know work with a higher end GPUs which will be very much P pretty much easy for you right if you have the experience in this now suppose you are not able to buy the laptop or the desktop you don't have any money to do that okay basically to buy it so what you can do is that you can also select a platform which is called as paper space paper space.com again the link is given in the description again guys I'm not promoting anything please be sure about that in paper space comm they will provide you virtual machines which is basically integrated with GPUs so all you have to do is that login over there and it is a paid site ok so over there what you have to do is the but but the payment is minimal how I'm saying is that once they assign you the GPO VM right you select what GP you are basically going to use again you can select GTX one zero five zero one zero six zero one zero seven zero you can also select P 5000 p6000 suppose you're participating in Kaggle you know you can copy that whole data set inside that VM right and after copying it you just copy paste your PA code over there itself start running it right and whatever version of the GP you have basically selected you can use it now the cost will vary based on the type of GP you are basically selecting suppose you go with GTX one zero five zero I think it is somewhere around 0.33 dollars per hour that basically means if the VM is running for a hour for an hour at that end it will cost you that much money so after as soon as you finish it you just stop it then the then the charges will not be there right similarly over there you'll also get an experience of selecting P 5000 p6000 right so that is a very highly costly GPS and again the cost over there ranges between point eight dollars per hour okay point eight zero dollars per hour again which is somewhere on hardly fifty rupees I guess okay fifty rupees Ayane so you can use that you can quickly run your pay code get the model copy and paste it in your local laptop and then you can create a flask app to basically load the images and find out the output right so suggest if you cannot buy the laptop or the desktop please go ahead with paper space again if you are just learning and again for the people suppose if you are if you don't have the capacity to buy the laptop or a desktop use Google collab in Google collab you will be at least able to run some machine learning and deep learning problem statements again when you go to deep learning in the Google Google I will also become slow okay so for deep learning you can basically circle select paper space right for practicing things enough so apart from that what you can do is that you can use Google collab so this was a brief overview about the different types of laptops that you can use but make sure guys don't get excited too much don't buy a very high-end system because it will be definitely costly and I know only people who are serious to complete both machine learning and deep learning buy this configuration of laptops right where you have GPUs and all and if you are planning to do both make sure that you have that msi kind of laptops so that and the the cost is actually somewhere around 63 K again there you get also a GPU apart from that you also get good RAM and hard this and that is also a gaming laptop and shot okay so this was all about this particular video I
