Best Dino for each cave on The Island | Ark: Survival Ascended (2023)

hey guys a lot of you have recently asked me to update my cave guide for the island for ascended because there won't be any tripods for a while in the game so with that being said we're revisiting that topic today here are the recommendations I made a year ago for all the caves on the island seven out of these 10 require no cryopods so I'm going to go through these caves a bit faster but I know you're here for the three caves that have changed especially that dreaded snow cave so I've added time stamps so you can skip the video to the cave number eight okay let's start with the first cave the Lower South cave it's the easiest cave on the map and can be cleared with almost any Mound that fits through the entrance my recommendation for this cave is the bionx since it can easily deal with the Saros and panas in the pools inside the cave giving you access to some extra loot in the early game next we have the central cave the bionyx is still the best choice for this short cave since once again there are pools filled with s and panas don't forget to place a bed outside in case you get mega rabies and wear cheap armor since arthos can oneshot any type of armor anyway the next one on the list is the upper South Gate this is the first problematic cave on the list prior to ascended the bionx was perfect for this cave because this is a cave that requires you to go through underwater tunnels however the bionx can no longer access the cave or rather it cannot exit the cave anymore this is bad because judging by the size of the entrance and this choke point the biggest thing that you can bring in is the Raptor but that one is too weak honestly I would suggest bringing a bionyx for this cave specifically and then just abandon him there you might want to bring some scuba gear for this cave though that's optional but if you bring it be careful around AR roads as a side note if you play with The Arc editions mod Doo sucus spawn inside making the cave quite difficult even when riding the bionic one of the simpler caves on the island is the Northeast cave being just a huge fit of death for this cave the tholo is the best thanks to the reduced fall damage and Superior combat capabilities but the bionx can also get the job done even though climbing back up is a little bit trickier the only difference I was able to find is that the entrance to this cave has has been modified a bit so you have to spam that jump button to get past this corner when riding a thila next we have the Kerns of lost fate first I have to say this looks incredible in ascended for this cave the basilosaurus is the best and the only real option if you bring only one t thanks to the immunity to jelly but if you bring more than one creature and not everyone gets stung by the nider at the same time you could use a pack of mags combined with a bionyx or even a spino going going back on land we have the Northwest cave this is the cave you want to spend the least time in as far as I know you can only bring shoulder pets in this one the otter is the best since it will keep you warm this cave requires a lot of equipment though you will need a capable suit of armor and some backup high quality sword and shield grappling hooks so you can actually exit the cave and as much fire power as you can bring including shotgun shells and explosives however some life insurance would also be great bet at the entrance more grappling hooks parachutes pocal chili Med brus and lots of lesser antidote next caverns of lost hope this is the same cave as the other underwater cave but on steroids in the first video I recommended a pack of four billos but I didn't take into consideration the fact that this cave is located at Great depths below a certain depth basos won't fight on their own that's very bad you have to ride a basso in this one for your own safety against tuzos and naras now besides that basso you will need at least a pack of six mags a pair of mzas or tusos might also work but the mag pack is easier to get honestly just bring every aquatic creature that you have you'll need them all and you'll still have to stop the region your tanks bring at least three scuba tanks and if you run out of oxygen swim up for the most part these Caverns are not fully submerged the first cryo cave on the other list was the lava cave my recommendation at the time was the tyolo thanks to its jump but you can easily replace it with the bar Onyx and this one can access the cave on its own just pay a bit more attention to those jumps and don't forget the Lesser antidote and the med Bru next we have the swamp cave this is a pretty tough one the mega theum was the killing machine here luckily you can still use use the bar Onyx here which will get you to the artifact tunnel where you will have to Dismount in order to grab that artifact another interesting choice would be the babo since it does increase damage to a lot of creatures inside this cave but personally I find this creature too weak for this cave the biggest problem with this cave is that the artifact is very hard to find but once you reach this room Dismount here and go through this tunnel which will lead you right to the artifact and last but not least don't forget to bring a gas mask or scuba gear for protection against the toxic gas now before we get to that snow cave just a reminder for those section on our Discord and follow the instructions okay this snow cave first of all the entrance into the snow cave has been modified and this is the new choke point the bionx is the largest creature that can pass from my testing but unless you don't try to clear the cave using a pack of 20 direwolves this is pretty much useless by the way if you do try the direwolf strategy you're an absolute Chad I really wanted to give the dire bear a try in this cave since they're a perfect match even providing you heat but despite it clearly being able to fit through this stunnel it cannot pass the choke point which makes no sense since the cave is already filled with bears so what other options do we have I'm going to go straight to the point and give you the bad news on single player trying to clear the cave on your own using only weapons would be a total Madness so the options were to either find a way to get some good dinos inside or to find a way to bypass all the creatures inside well a lot of people recommend the second options trying to Spider-Man your way to the artifact with a ton of grappling boooks I'm sorry to say this but that's a one-way trip to the afterlife okay in the bigger Chambers you can stay away from most creatures however Pria can still jump on you and if that happens it's GG besides even in ascended sometimes creatures spawn on the walls and if you're lucky enough to swing by a peroia hidden in a wall yeah it's GG but the narrow small corridors are the real problem because in these corridors bears and yetis can still hit you even if you're hanging from the ceiling in that situation you guessed it is GG so this doesn't work I really tried it but those corridors are impossible to avoid okay so how do we get creatures inside the cave well you need a tame that has spent all of his life inside this cave what do I mean by that you have to incubate an egg here at the entrance and raise the baby inside the cave by the way that area is buildable even without cave building being allowed in the settings this is where the ascended changes come into play because previously you had to clear the first room by yourself and raise the baby there now the Choice Remains the UT tyrannus since it can access the whole cave past this point and it can draw out Pras rexes and spinos are simply too large but as you can imagine the process of raising your Mount inside the cave is extremely timec consuming and dangerous side note do not hatch your UT egg here make sure you hatch the eggs after you pass this choke point a full grown UT tyranus cannot go through and babies on follow have a big chance of falling down this pit if they do you cannot get them out after you raise your UT you have to pay a lot of attention when fighting and take on most dinos one at a time since now your UT won't have any levels pumped into him but past this point things remain the same level up your UT stop to heal him take your time bring Fri a curries high quality for suit and an otter and that's it your dno will be stuck here forever but hey you got the artifact of the strong now obviously if you have a tribe of at least five people you can take on this cave on foot using only firearms and explosives but yeah having no cryopods is a big pain in the ass especially in single player but I hope I helped you with this guide thanks for watching subscribe like
