When the Oehlers started talking about their son Isaac in the past tense, my heart lodged firmly in my throat. This was such a senseless and avoidable disaster - even if they are able to find someone to scapegoat for the entire thing, it’ll never be enough for the real change that is needed at the government level. My heart remains with the people of the Port of Beirut. ❀️

It is important to remember this tragedy, after the news cameras leave. To honor those who were killed, and the untold number who are still suffering loss. My heart breaks for the people of Beirut.
