hey guys what's up welcome back to my channel or welcome if you're new here so in today's video i'm going to be showing you guys how i do my own dip powder nails at home using rossy nails dip powders now before i get into the tutorial i just really quickly wanted to mention that today's video is actually sponsored by rossie nails they went ahead and provided all the products that you'll see in today's tutorial and they are also sponsoring today's video and i wanted to say a huge thank you to rossy nails for supporting me and my channel by not only providing me with all this product that i get to share with you guys but for also sponsoring today's video now if you are unfamiliar with rossi nails they are a nail brand that offers dip powders dip liquids dip powder kits poly gel and gel polishes so if dip powder is not something that you're into i'm sure that you can find something that you'd enjoy on their website and rossie carries so many different colors of dip powder gel polish and polygel on their website so honestly the hardest part about doing your nails isn't actually doing your nails it's picking a color rossi is best known for their dip powder starter kits that come with everything that you need to get started doing dip powder nails so i will go ahead and link a couple of those down below just in case you guys want to check them out i will also be linking all the products mentioned and used in today's tutorial in the description box below i also have a 20 off coupon code for you guys if you want to save a little cash so with that being said thank you again to rossi for sponsoring today's video if you haven't already make sure to hit the subscribe button and the notification bell i'd love to have you here and let's get into it okay so in order to go from this to this we are going to have to prep the natural nail we are going to take this cuticle pusher from rossy nails and we are going to push the cuticles back so that we can avoid lifting now taking a 180 grit nail file from rossy nails i'm going to lightly buff the shine from my natural nails this is going to remove any oils from my nails so that the dip powder can adhere and there's no lifting this part is optional but i will be adding nail tips these are from rossi's website i'm going to apply these to the free edge of my nail at the very tip and i'm going to hold this for three seconds until the glue is dry once i have applied all of my nail tips i'm going to be taking these nail clippers and i'm going to clip my nails to my desired length taking my 180 grit nail file i'm just going to clean up the sides and shape the nail once i'm happy with how the nail shape looks i'm going to take my nail file and i'm going to buff over where the nail tip meets my natural nail until it's smooth before going in with any liquids or powders i'm going to dust off my nails taking step number two which is basebond i'm going to apply this in a thin even layer where the nail tip meets the natural nail before going in with any colored powder i'm going to take rossy nails clear powder to begin building the nail once i dip into the powder i'm going to tap off the excess and dust away the rest you don't want to leave any powder on your nails or it's going to start bulking up taking my baseband i'm going to apply another layer of clear powder just below the first layer you want to slowly work your way back towards the cuticle so that you can avoid bulky nails and you create a great apex that's going to give your nail a lot of strength i am going to repeat this process on each of my nails slowly working my way back towards the cuticle area with each layer i'm going to apply three layers of clear to each nail before moving on to color another reason i love to build the nail with clear powder is so that when you're ready to change your color you can file your color off down to the clear layers and add a new color on top make sure that when you're doing your nails you're checking them from the sides and other angles to make sure that they're not getting too thick this is what mine look like so far as you can see we haven't taken any product to the cuticles if you are noticing that your nails are getting a little thick you can take step three which is activator this is going to harden and solidify the nails so that you can file on top of them apply two generous coats of this activator and when your nails are dry they will make a tapping noise once the activator has dried you can take your nail file and begin to shape the nails i like doing it this way because you can control the shape and the thickness of your nails as you go this is what my nail looks like once i'm done filing this gives us a great foundation to begin applying colored powder once i've filed and shaped all of my nails to my liking i'm now going to start applying color i'm going to be taking this dip powder from rossy nails called almond and it's a perfect nude taking my baseball i'm going to apply thin even layers slowly working my way back towards the cuticle with each layer then i'm going to be taking my dip powder and dipping right in again you want to tap off the excess and dust away the rest so that you don't get bulky nails or ruin your brushes taking my basebond i'm again slowly working my way back towards the cuticle applying thin even layers dipping in tapping off the excess and dusting away the rest i'm going to repeat this process three times on each nail on my last layer i'm going to apply my basebond in a thin even coat taking this as close to the cuticle as possible without touching the skin i'm going to be repeating this process on my middle finger thumb and pinky [Music] now it's time for my favorite part glitter i'm going to be taking this dip powder in the shade braveheart and as you can see it is a very chunky gold glitter i'm going to be using this on my ring finger as an accent nail applying my basebond in thin even coats i'm going to lay my nail flat in the powder instead of dipping this ensures that i'm going to get as much glitter pay off as possible taking another thin layer of my basebond getting it as close to the cuticle as possible without touching the skin i'm going to go in with another layer of this glitter again i'm going to lay my nail in the glitter as opposed to dipping i decided to use this glitter for another accent nail so i'm going to be taking my base and applying it to my middle finger i'm going to take an eyeshadow brush and dip into braveheart and lightly tap the glitter over the nail before the base dries i'm going to take this dotting tool and pick up a couple of glitters and place them while the base is still wet i'm going to take my clear powder and i'm going to pour it over the nail this encapsulates the glitter and ensures that we won't file any of it away now i'll be taking my basebond and applying a thin even layer from cuticle area to free edge we are now going to encapsulate the nails with clear powder just like we did on the middle finger this is to ensure that we don't buff away or file any of the color or glitter underneath i prefer to pour over my clear powder as opposed to dipping that way i don't contaminate my clear powder with glitter or color i'm going to repeat this process on each of my nails until i've encapsulated each nail once with clear powder now it's time for activator we're going to apply two generous coats to each nail and let this dry so that we can file on top like i said activator hardens and solidifies the nails so that they hold up and you can file once the nails are dry you're going to take your 180 grit nail file and you are going to buff and reshape the nails once the nails are shaped i'm going to be taking this rossy nails rechargeable e-file and a diamond barrel bit on a low speed i'm going to take this barrel bit and i'm going to clean up around my cuticle area now it's time to finish file before top coat i'm going to be taking this buffer block from rossy nails and i'm going to buff the nails this is going to remove any scratches that we made while filing and this is going to ensure that our top coat applies smooth and perfect before going in with top coat i'm going to take activator and i'm going to apply one thin even coat to each nail then i'm going to take a lint-free wipe or paper towel and wipe away the excess activator now it's time for top coat this is step number four you're going to apply one thin even layer to each of the nails and let this dry you may notice that the first layer of top coat is going to dry down kind of dull and matte that's okay we're going to go in with a second layer on each of the nails and the second layer is what will make the top coat super shiny and glossy one of the great things about this top coat is it only takes about 20 seconds to dry once it's dry i'm going to be taking this rossy nails cuticle oil and applying this to each of my nails generously once you apply your cuticle oil you are now done and you have beautiful nails that you did at home and you've saved so much time and money look at how beautiful that chunky glitter is and the top coat is super shiny and holds up great all right you guys so that finishes up the tutorial i hope that you enjoyed i hope it was helpful and easy to follow as you can see dip powder nails not so hard right like i said the hardest part is going to be picking out a color to put on your nails chunky glitters from rossi are probably one of my favorite products i cannot stop staring at my nails so beautiful um as you saw in the video the dip powders were great there was no issue there was no crystallization no marbling they were perfect and the dip liquids were a dream to work with the liquids were really thin so they weren't creating bulky layers on my nails and they were just overall really easy to work with so definitely recommend starting on rossy nails website if you're looking for a dip powder starter kit they have tons of kits to choose from that are really affordable and great quality so again a huge thank you to rossy nails for sponsoring today's video i hope that you guys enjoyed if you didn't already you should hit that subscribe button and the notification bell i'd love to have you here like i said you guys can leave any questions you have in the comments below with that being said i think i'm going to get out of here so hopefully i see you guys in my next video i love you all see you later
