BECOMING A CARIOCA: RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL!!

beach seriously [Music] the [Music] foree reminds me very salty halumi cheese with oregano on the top it's like the perfect Beach snack ever wow that's a machi lioo oh okay God okay so I got my Mai tea which is basically iced tea and I got it mixed with lemon with lime and I've got my bisco do which I got earlier and it's kind of just like crackers but it's salty and it goes very well with the matchy [Music] tea [Music] the best way to end the day at the beach is to join the kocas and watch the sunset behind the famous D [Music] [Music] Mountain watch me [Music] really it just blows my mind how beautiful Rio [Music] is whenever I'm traveling I always need to set up some time for admin tasks and one of the most important ones is maintaining my website using Squarespace Squarespace are an mountains and [Music] oceans I'm at the start of the trail that goes all the way up the D iral Mountain these are the two mountains that you can see the end of epema and because there are two peaks they call it DOI m and it's super super jungly this is what I absolutely love about Rio de Janeiro there is so much nature for example so many trails like this where you can hike up mountains and it's literally just jungle and all the kocas and tourists just you know they fall in love with this cuz it's so easy to [Music] do wo literally coming through a place which is full of monkeys they are adorable sort of looking at me oh she's got a little baby on her back this is unbelievable okay this is such a cool hike I've literally just walked by so many monkeys just jumping from tree to tree it is as tropical as you could get gosh it's so hot and so humid you just have to embrace literally the humidity and the sweat cuz I'm like dripping okay I have just made up to the sort of first Lookout Point and you can see another flla which is called hosia hosia is the largest flla in Latin America and you can just see it's absolutely huge sprawling homes along that mountain and you've also got another Beach over there which is sou cond but it's amazing just already all of this all of this Mountain Greenery nature just feels so good [Music] this is definitely one of the harder hike that I've done a lot of steep climbs [Music] woo one whole hour later I have made it to the top of the mountain I'm absolutely d benched in the sweat but wow I mean that view it's so worth it literally that view is just something else you've got the whole of e panema Beach you can see Copa Cabana you can see the lake you've got chry the Reda there it's an absolutely stunning View and it just really shows you just like the magic of the [Music] city Dera chica enjoy good [Music] food this is Centro which is Rio's downtown Center and it's full of beautiful colonial era architecture so I've come here for the typical Friday dish of fada and this is one of the best places to have it it's incredibly local and you got lots of people who work around here lots of of companies so you've just got lots of locals who come to all these little restaurants to eat [Music] fada this is the weekend specialty in Brazil the fada fada is beautiful black bean stew with bits of pork okay and then you go in with a few of the side garnishes so you've got these bits of like pork crackling just to give it that really really nice Crunch and Fara so Fara is toasted Yuca or cassava flour and you sprinkle it over the fada it's like bread crumbs really fine bread crumbs and I've got myself a nice cold Brahma typical Brazilian be I love be water it's got really nice Smoky flavor this is a really cool place to have it as well in the center because you've got lots of locals here and this street in particular it's really cool cuz you've just got loads of restaurants one after the other it's just a very sort of festive atmosphere and obviously everyone's very excited cuz it's a weekend now so it's very very authentic and local I really quickly wanted to announce the launch of my channel memberships so if you basically wow you get people really going for it fore [Music] [Music] follow okay people are in such a party mood and obviously dad are some of the friendliest people on this planet so it's so easy to just chat to people and make friends I just I love it that's what I love about Rio the people profession's coming to this room now oh my God Rio parties Street parties around Carnival and so much fun the energy is just unreal and I cannot wait for the main event at s Dr where you're going to have four of the S schools raiding this is just insane PR carable party seriously [Music] wow what an insane end to today after partying all the blockos ending it on a high at basically the Pinnacle of what Carnival is all about the San Bodo where you've got all of the San parading is absolutely incredible there are just thousands of people here they're all parading through the middle of the S bore I mean the whole setup is just incredible and it's open air something really special you can see the city lights and they're all dressed up in different fancy dress I mean this is it really this is what Rio Carnival is all about and this is what people practice the whole year for they practiced for this 5 days of parading at the [Music] S you can just really feel that karaa love sber Carnival and just partying and having a great time I'm just so happy that I got to experience Carnival for [Music] [Music] EO num worship football so visit Rio's most sacred Church the marakana I have come to marakana tonight there is a huge game on between two rival Rio teams one of them being flamco the biggest team in the whole of Brazil and they're playing BOGO the atmosphere is insane there are literally thousands of people on the streets right now everyone's just getting excited for the match football it's so intertwined with the culture and it's something that Brazil is so well known for I mean they've won the World Cup the most times and they've got you know footballing Legends like Pelle and Ronaldinho and Ronaldo so you know football is just one of the key pillars of kioa and Brazilian life in general okay I've got my Coronas have a little beer like everyone does before the match let's see if I can find some supporters to talk to me about their love for Flamingo fore for [Laughter] wow look at this o girl you get one which is like can mix sausage chicken and beef far see I love the far so good my God that is so good got a smoky flavor I see everyone's heading to the stadium so I'm going to head there [Applause] now wow you can see people are so passionate about Flo whoa we haven't even got inside the stadium [Applause] yet amazing the Charing is so loud w i mean surely Flamingo are going to [Music] win okay so we're at half time now and it's still nil come here on a weekend gather to watch footy drink very cold choe which is draft beer and I've been in Rio for a week now I really feel like I've become a koca I feel like the term koca the definition it's not just limited to somebody who's from Rio but it's also a way of life here it's happiness and a festive Spirit you know their friendliness and their relaxed way of seeing and living life is truly unique I've completely fallen in love with this city and I feel like I could call it my home so I guess that makes me a koca at [Music] heart [Music] [Music] spe [Music] foree [Music] all
