[Music] [Music] hello and welcome you amazing person my name is Rob I Am the Man Gaming guy and today I'm going to be showing you how to make your own custom seamless Junction like this one as you can see oh my camera is super fast that's good timing this is a nice realistic simple but elegant Junction now I recommend your first protocol find somewhere to put this Junction I certainly need to join this road to this road so I'm going to be showing you how I would go about doing that now my uh decals that's the uh Road bits and mostly mine I made these white lines and I made the road so I'm going to give you a quick demo how to make them cu the way I made them is quite important for getting a nice clean seamless Junction like this one so the tools you will be needing is which is spelled g i MP it's a free open source software which you can um go find on the internet hopefully you've already got it if you've been watching my tutorials and you're also going to need to find a um tarm mag texture some sort of asphalt tarm Mag Road food texture they're on the internet go have a look there's loads of free ones find one that suits your fancy and um yeah download dad and the other game program and we're get ready to uh get on with this shall we cuz um it's going to be exciting and it's going to be high detailed and it's going to make your map look 10 times better okay so we' got those programs ready let's go over to JY now uh it's this one here we go so here's the uh my Base Road I do recommend you name the roads as you go along just so you can alter them as you wish it's a very high textured roads and my first lesson to you is to make a new file now you can't just make any old size and height that you wish you need to stick to the power of two ooh anything of one of these numbers on the height and one these on the width and you'll be fine mostly U actually you know you just be always you should just always be fine some of these are a bit High sides though like going that big is really big you know just like 4K 2K 8K sort of thing so um keep that in mind I tend to stick around you know the 1024 and the 496 I think this one here might actually be 8192 one of the biggest decals I've done for some super high detail quality but it's up to you how big you go and depending how much you want to work with your texture um I got this from Terry thank you Terry BMG Terry you're a legend uh does some really high detailed videos that's for sure so you want to be making yourself um a new template this one is actually 512 x 512 and we're going to pretend this is a road texture and uh what you're going to do is up and down is perfectly fine you'll leave them as they are but the sides of your road hopefully you've made this a very like elongated shape because it is a road the longer it is the less repetitive it's going to be when you come to making your Road in beam andng which you you'll come to find one day so um anyway so I'm going to paint this black this is now our new texture if we right click on the fill button we can go to gradient and we got this all here and I'm going have to try and completely refresh myself here there's a way to make this erase there we go erase yes click on mode just in case you haven't got yours choose erase we going zoom in a little bit which was uh control and the wheel Hold On The Edge and click left to right from the left Edge and right to right whatever wait wait a minute why is my gradient not working why are you not what what um this should be working oh wait a minute um okay what you're going to need to do you see uh your file down here your new file if you've just um copied and pasted your road to make sure you got a seamless Road by the way if you know what I mean by doing that hopefully You' got seamless file seamless file basically means it's it's mirror imaged it won't it will repeat yourself without having a line and how you can do it yourself is just by when you got your image is to uh copy and paste it and flip it and then join those two together copy and paste it and flip it vertically join those together and then that will be a seamless image and when you've done that sometimes you over the edge um of this Square which if you do this and Export it to BG it won't work so right click on your image down here hopefully yeah hope you're already ins sorted you want to flatten your image first I can do this now perfectly fine and then you want to select add Alpha channel so now what this does is makes it so you can have a background before I had that I if I went reverse uh erase it would have gone white rather than clear so now we got that sorted we should be a to wo hopefully this works I don't know why it didn't work last time yeah there we go so now oh control said we want to feather in the edges and what this is going to do it's going to help blend into other roads and the grass on its Edge so what you want to do is click on the edge come in but make sure you keep it perfectly horizontal I tend to um come out of about four five or something you're going have to test run it by exporting and re exploring it to b g until you get your F perfect filter but uh yeah so you going to do that on both sides yeah yeah you're fine and you want to keep them back the same as he other um two two squares two squares yeah so you going to do that and now allows the grass like I said to blend into the road you don't need to do top and bottom because you can do that in B and G itself and uh there a way when we import our image later on that that will um have a setting so it can work so this is your new road texture which I've already made one before see got the Blended Edge just like this this I can get rid of that I don't need it so I've already got this one in my game you've uh just seen it I've been using it in BMG and what I need to do which I forgotten is to make a white triangle for my Junction so I'm going to do that now and you can use this same technique to make your solid white lines your dashed white lines you can be creative but this is a nice way to make textured and realistic looking Road markings so how can can I make a triangle I'm not very used to using this but um we'll give it a go there probably like uh lassu this this point to point it is point to point I'm going to try and make a perfect triangle what um yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah and then join okay so I got my triangle that's not very good triangle okay can I make it better okay I can make get better um yeah that looks yeah whatever that looks mostly like a triangle so I'm going to now give it a border or make it grow uh border yeah border will make it big okay border 10 maybe 20 test run let's see how big it goes yeah no way big enough let's go maybe like 200 uh controls said to undo that uh d d d border grow yeah so that was not big enough let's go 200 bro just thinking about it having a moment uh 200 was way too big apparently so um let's try uh it it did say 20 last time didn't it CU it refresh and it said two let's just try 20 20 again just make sure what's what what why did I click on the wrong thing border I think I clicked on the wrong thing didn't I wow that is TV magic for you let's try 80 I'm just trying to make a a triangle two triangles um okay one more try I'm going I'm going bigger uh we're going to go 140 and then that's it we're keep it to this cuz uh you don't want to just be watching me guess a triangle size anyway so this could to be our triangle and I could could just paint this white now put it in the game and would have a triangle but why is it R off the edge I didn't want to Roundy off the edges but anyway we got we got triangle rounded edges what I'm going to do first is distort is my lines wait wait yeah distort the lines these are my settings for my size picture you may need to change it basically I think spread is the bumps along the line um the granulator thing is like the wobbliness and the smooth is how smooth of the wobbliness and the threshold is like how big it can go in and out I got this set and it seems to work I'm going to click okay feel free to copy it if you got my sort of sized image which is ginormous if you need to change anything I'll probably recommend the smoothness and the Gran granulated thing let it do its magic and think all it's is going to do is the outside line is going to be a bit wobbly a bit Wiggly can't really see it too well you can see it's not straight anymore it's got a bit of a jiggly jaggy wobly which what you would expect if someone come along and just sprayed the floor with some paint I'm going to now add a new layer so I'm not going to be ruining my tarmac and go to Fi we're going go to normal fi switch those around so we got the white one this is a big picture by the way so my computer does not like it and then we can select none now we could leave it there he saying hey that looks not too badart from got a triangle engine but we're going ignore that that's not too bad looks quite a rostic but still triangle triangle but we can do better yes we can actually quite a ginormous triangle considering how big my road is normally um so I'm going to change the size of it dra S no that's shift s a lock of that cuz I still want to keep the shape just want to make it a bit smaller uh bit more smallness I'm not too right about the distorted pattern anymore just about that is what I'm going for reason why I'm trying to match the size to the road is cuz I'm going to be using the bumps within the image underneath to make it look even better so we can scale that now marvelous and we are going to now go to filters go to map bump map we just go click on the input to be background come on there we go and now we look we got bumps and that's exactly what we want so we click okay okay so that's now sorted we've got our image now we could export it from this but I don't want to be doing that I want this triangle to be on its own so I can just overlay it on a separate piece of road so I'm going to open a New Image trying to guess the perfect size for this triangle to sit on so we're going to go back to our power two it is quite a wide one so I'm thinking it may be um we'll go for 20 48 square picture 20 48 and 20 48 click okay so I'm going to make a new image now go go over to my triangle copy that with crl Z back over here contrl V click this little green button to input that new layer I don't know what you're doing cancel oh yeah click this button to drag it down okay so yes got just line out best you can into the middle and then we're going to flatten our image so now made our squares perfectly fine right click add Alpha Channel we can now select the black delete that and delete that and now select none now this is going to be the image we export into BeamNG so first steps I recommend for you to do is find your mod folder which we all should know what we where that is cuz we made it go into your shapes file and make a new file file called your roads whatever you want whatever you feel like just a random folder so you know where they are and it's easy for you to find if you having trouble getting to it now yeah do this first get to your files yeah click on this it's all highlighted and copy that address you're going to need it cuz now when we export this uh export as you may maybe even save it if you want you know uh manic road sign there we go that would do there we go do export as normally won't let you go through documents to find the folder you want so just highlight this whole address paste in the one where you copied from your files hit enter and it'll just take you to your roads uh luckily it's giving us our first bit of Road name that we want so manic Road lines try should be good enough and now we click on this files we want dos export we're going to get some options pop up we want to make sure you selected bc3 I think you can use that for just normal jpegs I think this one is for our sort of texture sort of stuff and then you got another more advanced one for doing other stuff I can't remember go see Terry's Channel he's u a bit more of an expert on it than I am shout out to you my bro uh yeah so exported that now we should be able to go to Bam n g and find it there so here we are in BeamNG so let's hit everle go into our world map editor and we want to grab our car and just move it out the way grab a little decal button up here make sure roads not ginormous I think four M we have to experiment with the size cuz we're not exactly sure what it's going to be and then we want to go material editor add our new material give it a name oh don't need to do that manic R align try like we did the last file and what happened there where's my new file oh maybe got the search thing in there have I still got it one second manic A rad lines try is it there yeah there we go that's the new road I just made you shouldn't do that if you didn't have anything in the search bar we change the first little picture thing R and you want to go find the file that you put your road into if you get a weird triangle thing um I think all mine work but it looks of it if you get a weird try I got the logo but there's a picture that shows up when it shows it's not working but it looks like mine's worked perfectly fine cuz I stuck to the power of two and it's 2048 by 2048 so input that now this is actually shown up as a complete white square so we need to go down to some Advanced properties nope uh this features nope lighting oh yeah we want to click the filtering one uh Advanced propess wait a minute I'm getting confused animation no click on animation we w want Advance all layers uh we want to receive Shadows Alpha clip um I don't think you actually need Alpha clip I tend to click sub uh oh actually is Alpha click and then we do this and then where's my triangle it has changed isn't it it's not changed my triangle yet have I this this worked but it helps to actually have the triangle on the road let's try just go find it no manic Road lines where's where's my manic road line try oh wait wait sorry I'm not finished doing all the installation bit see that's going to make it transparent doing the advanced Alpha layer stuff a reason why it wasn't showing up on the list to the right it's cuz in here you got want to type in bmng in the next line you want to type in road with capital r a n d p h exactly like that and then I like to throw in decals as well without the yes and then save it and then when we click on here it's going to show up and where's my triangle it's probably on it somewhere triangle triangle I think my triangle is I think I broke it so let's go find our material editor cuz cuz it wasn't shown before I think I broke it probably with [Music] this where are you um cut to an a cut to an a def is so it it normally is so car shadows I'm sure it is Alpha sless that's the right thing that's right why is um don't think I need should have to change you slly priority there it is the priority okay everything had high priority on it we call it that okay it was because of the high priority right so the text left is too long um it does look a bit big as well so we going go to all nodes control a select all nodes let's try uh three h it still looks a bit big doesn't it two okay let's try two and let's try shorten the length maybe down to seven okay that looks a bit more like it and then finagle that into place now at the moment it's um on top of everything I kind of want all the tire treads on it so if I mock about the layers no that's getting higher priority you want to go up in numbers there we go now it looks like it's been driven over sound make sure you put save when you do some work and that's how you um add your own decal and how to make it so it looks quite realistic and cool ready Cool Wicked so yeah now it's time to jump over to the actual main Junction where we're going to use our custom tarmac which you just made over in gy you're also going to be using your own custom lines and having some fun making your own custom Junction that's going to be seamless and people going to be like whoa how'd you do that so first steps like I say plan your rout luckily I've got all my pieces in so I can just highlight the piece hold contrl Z and uh z c c c copy it and draw my Road in I want to overlap a little bit and I will tend to use the filter tool to um make it go into place a bit nicer casually straighten up make sure I line up of course I can square on as possible maybe stretch this out have a nice comfortable Junction get the line you want there we go now um I probably recommend uh just don't worry about grass just delete the grass and fill the grass in in a bit this bit's not so so bad there we go and basically the main technique we're going to use here to make a seamless Junction is using our custom feathered edges roads and also um using a bit of feathered edges on the tops when needed so that we don't get some crazy blend yeah see how we get the line there so we kind of want to FEA The Edge on this side as well and then overlap it a little bit there there we go nice and tidy so control C when you select and know one of those and then we're going to Simply double click well not double click click some lines along here to create some sort of smoothie Edge as you no this is quite seamless and you want this road to have mainly the the main through road to have priority um over the others and we use the render iy we go down in numbers to make it go over anything else so what would we set up to nine so this one had to be set up to 10 okay so that's now actually clipping off those edges still looks like you can see stuff but when you start adding more detail it soon eventually goes you may not like the edges and the curves you can smoothing your rows out by using where are you smooth this in detail going down to this will add a lot of holes and lines and details you can go extreme on your curvature and stuff um maybe don't use that much uh you also change the smoothness which will try and really smoothing out some lines which is high detail stuff might not work but your bigger stuff it might do I guess um but we can bre that down to have no smoothness so it's completely stiff as anything which obviously we kind of don't really want that to find your balance oh no what have I done okay yeah to find your balance let my smooth this wrong way what were we on like four or five find what suits the uh size of the road you're doing basically without get any one there we go control C again when you got the most comfortable one cuz you're just going to repeat that again to the other side trying and make it blend off quite nicely now already you've made quite quite a nice looking Junction that you can drive down and enjoy and put traffic on and some crashes down and in videos it would not look too bad make sure you're covering that grass though there we go very nice now to get a nice perfect dark line down the middle I tend to select the decal road that goes down the middle go to my object selector and when it that's now selected the decal rather in your editor mode it's just selected as item you can now contrl C and contrl V to paste it you then go back into editor mode you can then contrl a to select all the nodes go to to here change it to 2.3 depending on how big you want your lines to be now there's actually another l Road in here there you go it's hidden there I'm going go to my other dotted line cuz it's got settings I've always set and then I can control Z and paste it into the control and you can finagle them and get them matching up quite nice and then yeah there you go that now matches up there and then there should be yeah why are you not sh I need to send you up one more there we go you showing now no even more there we go so yeah this process of um just building it up is how you going to make a really nice seamless Junction now over here if we go to my Junction I have got one piece I think it's going end up being this one have a look is it this one what is this one yeah this is the junction one so where's it gone oh no it's this thing in It Go on I'm using the Wheel by the way to if you look at the bottom of the screen you got all the um your short keys that you can use at the time and I use the wheel to scroll through the decals cuz obviously you get eventually quite a lot of layers just so you got another a quick tip there so I've just copied my Junction now and I'm going to come over to this uh drop part of the junction I'm just going to run down here like so and then what's wrong is it your priorities yeah your priorities and I got the wrong way around so we just going to delete that and then we're going to run it back this way there we go and S priorties out again gone too far so we just want to delete when it start that's basically the um end of the picture that we made and it would just start repeating I want to make sure I'm probably just going to delete that piece and then just maybe hopefully rejoin it without looking too bendy yeah there we go you see how we start building this up now I just want to straighten up that decal think make it actually hits the road quite Square on and then go to my old Junction and I'm going to grab now a single dash line obviously I'm expected that you've made all these yourself if you haven't I will be probably opening up a file in my patreon and having it on there for anyone who wants a shortcut I think I spent about 8 hours the other day making these so it'd be quite hard just to give them away especially when they're not perfected and uh um lives tricky to um find a time to just keep making stuff for everyone when I meant to make a nice UK custom 10 pay PL uh map maker thing one day when you got your own custom rows and do custom signs and things like that and that will all help to going towards building that so as you can see now I'm just basically copy and pasting sorting out the priorities making sure they're all good make sure the lines look good enough they don't look wide enough we got4 let's try 45 yeah that looks a bit better there we got our Junction and we don't always have to have lines on the sides like I have on this one but I do recommend for a nice cleanest Edge you can get the decals that are called Road edges this one's a grass one and you want to um overlap the road a fair bit but the road's got priority over the decal so it will just delete the edges anyway like so that's you get that extra bit of extreme detail so you my um Road Edge actually wasn't the same color as my grass I had to go into the material editor the same way we made this I found a file by looking at this thing here so there's the file name found it in material editor and I actually just changed the UV color um so it's the same green as the other green bonus genus points there we going to grab the grass and just fill it in close as we dare to the road hoping it doesn't overlap the road o steady hands and a steady voice okay so there you go there's your main basic Junction but you don't have to stop there you are that that flicker in hopefully won't happen always it should not do that um you can also go get some tire tracks like I'm pretty sure these ones control see that and then I would um just put them in the lines of the road where the cards goes so I tend to STI one straight up here and probably less clicks and it won't look so janky like that and obviously you want to go around the corner so if I click on this yeah we have got the filter in I tend to use filters to make sure you get a nice seamless join it feels like the smooth this is quite off in this one this seem quite Jank the edges can um do do obviously the priority needs sort and out [Music] still we was on eight there we go contrl c contrl v this one uh just control V all there we go and then obvious you can do all your different ends and then angles I did all mine over there but that will help take away some of the initial edges as well and I also has like this sort of like dirty tread Marky pattern on here somewhere one of the bigger ones it won't be that one it be a smaller one that be this one uh track rubber what that one was obviously I'm expecting you following along tutorial and you've got some sort of um decals to add in that you found yourself and to um use your initiative and use ones that you feel will look good obviously it's not popping through yet there we go that just makes the road a little bit more Beast not giving it a little bit more detail you obiously see um add drift marks and skid marks and all that sort of stuff maybe like um if you can find some really dark black lines I'd fade them out so it looks like it's where people have had to come to a stop all the time you could even probably use that of this one actually um I would uh make it a bit smaller put it like a four stretch it to the end of the road cuz this is obviously where people break it not here I filter it out a lot on one way like 15 uh probably a bit too much try seven something like that yeah that looks like people trying to come to a Hal you want a little bit at the other end as well filter wise not much uh give it a more higher priority over think it looks like people trying to stop there so there you go some more High detail seamless Junction action I don't think there's really much more I can show you there is obviously props you can start adding in and then you can add your trees and your bushes for you know for immersion but if you want your RADS to look clean and seamless that's one way to do it you can also add the white lines on the edges but not all rows have that oh I've been a manic gaming guy I don't know how long this tutorial has been but I hope you've learned a lot today feel free to keep watching the video over and over also feel free to hit that subscribe button you know I um post a lot of videos out there on YouTube woo for you to learn from so feel free to join the club and enjoy the videos a bit more keep it well stay safe and share that love goodbye
