Bay Area Forecast: Rain Chances Ahead

okay let's get a check of our forecast and boy jeff going to bed last night it was so cold i couldn't get enough blankets on me i had to turn on the heater which i usually never do overnight is it going to be another frosty evening all right you know i think we're gonna get cold but definitely not as cold as it was last night so i know you the blanket situation and the heater and everyone out there uh we'll kind of enjoy that so we'll get chilly but again not expecting a lot of places to go down near the freezing mark let me show you why we'll get a live look outside of our sky camera network right now in walnut creek looking towards concord and you can see the cloud cover has started to increase at this hour and that cloud cover it's going to act like a blanket and help to insulate us and help those temperatures from getting too cold again cloud cover acts like a blanket and that should help us out tonight we'll take a look at those temperatures and yes it does drop off to some colder 40s by 10 and 11 o'clock but uh we're not going to be seeing those 30s quite as soon as we did the past couple of nights so here's the deal we have this storm system off to the north and it's primarily producing some cloud cover it's very weak but there is a few spotty showers we might see a hit and miss shower right up here near the coastline you can see storm range or mobile doppler radar scanning nothing here in the bay area just wet but we are watching that little return right there offshore for maybe a spotty shower near the coastline i think the overall thing as we head through tomorrow morning it'll be dry we'll have the clouds and again not as cold this will put us at 41 in the south bay 42 for the peninsula tri valley at 38 and for the north bay which had some isolated 20s this morning we're looking at an average of 36 and a frost advisory san francisco at 45. temperatures tomorrow with those clouds will cool off a couple degrees so down here in the south bay it puts cupertino at 60. my forecast in morgan hill 62. for the east bay looking good in vallejo at 59 degrees stanville 60 and temperatures again don't really adjust a whole lot so if you're going from the east bay to the peninsula we're looking pretty much the same here 59 in palo alto san francisco also the clouds a light wind out of the north at 8 and 55 in the marina north bay more of these 50s in nevada santa rosa also mill valley so tomorrow we have those clouds hanging on and then what about those chances of rain well we've seen some updated timing on this and things really look to be condensing down for our best chance of rain you can see by five o'clock in the morning on friday we have some rainfall off to the north and we'll likely see some widespread rain as we move through friday's forecast this will also bring some snow to the sierra right now i'm looking at about a foot here as we head into friday with that storm at some of the highest levels you can see kingville 13 inches kirkwood at 9. so on my extended forecast we've kept the chance of a spotty shower thursday night also into friday and saturday even into next tuesday our temperatures in san francisco 50s to 60s for highs and we're also looking at similar daytime highs here for the inland valleys i think on friday we could be good for about 507 inch to 35 hundredths and it still looks good at this point for the extended forecast going out 14 days to have additional chances of rainfall so it's a pretty good pattern we're finding ourselves in right now and janelle i think you'll be happier with my forecast tomorrow morning when you wake up and janelle you have a cloud blanket now i had no such thing we didn't know now you have two blankets okay cozy thanks jeff
