BARN FIND: East Texas Corvettes

so today we're heading out to East Texas to pick up three Corvettes that Kelsey found on our social media page which is social at CBGB oddly came in we got the lead we mmediately went out there bought these cars however training about the past four or five weeks it's still been training and these things summer in a barn somewhere tucked away in a garage somewhere on the ranch so it's gonna take a ton of people this be eight of us total today to get these four beds out some of them have been park since 1982 so we've got our Polaris for pulling it's all wheel drive but our whole Drive dodged in early with our four car open trailer docks dually to close the reason we need that if I believe the amount of mid tier Corvette parts that are there that we're buying will fill that whole trailer so come with us on the journey so just know how many people it actually takes to pull this off we got big Chris we got big Ricky we got medium Alex medium Chris father cause and Tyler Falcon bog we'll be running the drone today and what's it implement amber thing called video the gimbal camera we've got Kelsey behind the phone right now so come with us [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so we're on location and Eric waves did a credible job back into two cars later down there there's a feather barn that barn is where all the media Corvette parts are tons of them the 54 foot take three trailers out on the road when we lived and believed it out there we're going to pull them up there with the players and put them all out there so watch us go is a two-top car roaster our top obviously they're sitting over there most of the parts I think are in this garage and then there's a 67 big-block coupe this car was raised to the Dallas area as opposed to on many years looks like a life but what's really cool about this and obviously over the history about yes we drop the gas tank how good's a tank sticker but it's got an l 88 you take an LED so my thought was we get the jack out get these things on the ground it pull across the street with the players and put them on the big trailer okay and then I'm gonna show you in the back is hold barn full of cars because this guy worked on Corvettes from like 30 or 40 years huh so we're getting all those parts - but here's most of the 63 rows for stuff here the fenders for this car a pretty sure solve em and the nose is out of the barn but we'll go look but everything in that barn but the tools this Corvette stuff we're supposed to take and then we've got the kicker which you can see in a minute is there's a birdcage actually with a frame sitting out in the field Wow yeah I bought it but it is it is a bigger car I think obviously it's gonna be like a 63 since it's got don't braixen and it was roaster but you know these things are all getting billed now because for restomod yeah you bow the fiberglass but you can't get the birdcage then look how good the bark is it's not rusty so I have to two thoughts on this one said this on a big pile just drag it over there to which i think is probably the better way to go yeah that way we can get on the big the big trailer so I'm afraid we're gonna run out of room and they too close with all these parts apart okay I don't know that this is actually the definition of a foreign pine but it is a barn and I found a bunch of Corvette parts in the air so I didn't touch any of this stuff cuz it was so dusty that's why I brought partner Ricky somebody's gonna get dirty if I were got stuff down here so we went up to the top garage and looked at 63 roaster home jack stands and the 67 Roadstar jack stands and they went out it looked at what I would call a per kg frame which is left over 63 that's been parted out pretty heavy but I still think some of you have builded in a restomod and then we checked out the barn with all the dusty dirty parts I think we have a plan we're gonna get the wheels and tires on that car drag it up we're gonna put the 67 coop on the big trailer first the 63 roaster next and that chassis will be the third and then we'll get everything else loaded parts and pieces in the two-car enclosed trailer should be really easy to ought to be able do it about 20 minutes pretty kill fast case lucky get a mom [Applause] that's the new definition of engine steering [Music] Eric I think I was just leave this here go grab the other car and pull these two up the same time so we don't run the winch battery out sound like a plan if we do it right we pull all three of them up at the same time so the stories of this car run around Dallas in the late 70s early 80s it's supposedly one of the fastest Corvettes around well the hood is his mouse motor here's a telltale sign is definitely was in Dallas so dirty of Dallas 1977 at one point on a pinstripe this car SMU Southern Methodist University which were Kelsey graduated from which is in Dallas no it's honest we see in 1982 Georgia inspection sticker so I don't know how to explain that but it's a Texas title and this car supposedly ran around the yellow-bellied Green Valley and a bunch of the drag strips in Dallas was a really fast car to stay here says mouse motor you ought to be able to find the history maybe just because of that there's a couple things this motor that really intrigued me I checked the casting of our on this intake and this is in fact an l 88 intake it also has an l 88 aluminum water pump it'd be really interesting to tear this motor down and see what's inside [Music] well the reason we brought the Flair's this time instead of bringing a black round GP which is what we used to do th step out because was enough room [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so at one point in time a mid year Corvette in this condition had little or no value but now as long as you've got the birdcage this is a start for restomod because all the fiberglass pieces are available and most of the guys are changing the frames anyways so believe it or not I think this car will get built here from time to time a mid-year Corvette or any early Corvette as to the birdcage which is this section right here it's one of the holy areas that is rust-prone this was not rusty at all basically this is a bare-bones to do a build and like I said earlier this car is probably going to get bail because all the fiberglass pieces are available none of these substructure here known as the birdcage is available so we'll see what happens but I predict that this car will have a new life and turn into a $250,000 resto mod especially after these guys get the wheels and tires on it no idea what's gonna happen we have no steering the brakes are locked up and this thing's been here a quarter the owner forever which forever I think the same here for over 30 years but saving a mid-year for net here we go [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] whose car is stuck like Chuck first slide I have I want to get it just not taunt but possibly just tell me one date but it's close okay [Music] [Applause] [Laughter] [Music]
