hello citizens here heading out to Georgia 1959 Corvette the guy claims his grandfather drove in the bar 60 years ago if you do the math I'm not sure 60 years ago but it was a long time ago sit about four flat tires they send me a picture of the hood open and there's a fuel injection unit on top so that's a killer flag come with me let's go get it on the bar and save another one so we got Alex rollin in he's been on the road since 7 o'clock this morning it's 10:30 at night she's a total road warrior pick us up the airport [Music] morning des with my heritage shake that service two creams two sugars yes sir you ready go rescue 59 Corvette I'm ready to go alright go get Alex up let's get out of here alright it's early a.m. in Atlanta we're heading out there go yank this 59 Corvette out of the bar go with us [Music] looks interesting [Music] incredible walk up there is absolutely no way you could have possibly found this car Alex we're getting lucky with that hitch and the floor is not dirt was I thought it was that's gonna help me so Mike this car has been it for 60 years 60 years it's been in the same block 60 of 59 it's been over 60 years he lived here when he bought brand-new wraps for you we'll make it our show - easy today now we just figure out how to get from there to there yeah [Music] give me a project that's awesome I'm looking for the number on the pad and my hope is that this is a CS motor which means it would be a factory fuel-injected car pads never disappoint which is a good side no we have to play it super dirty but I will tell you this which is really cool actions could be an action one but a fan clutch was an option on these which is extremely look at that the fan clutch is there and the shroud is there so everything I see so far leads me to believe it's probably correct and then there's one way you can tell if these cars are a late production 59 or an early production 59 so see how the valve covers all right here the bolts are straight across to each other they're not staggered this is the late bill if this original owner in their mobile unit is gonna be it's gonna be fun rebuilding that the tack drive is still here which is awesome lot of times these are unhooked and then here's your operator your generator with your cable from the drive as well original fuel filter really cool man that is one of the coolest walkins I've ever seen right there yeah all right let's get the trailer on the way for everybody gets upset and might as well try to air these tires like we always do oh we've obviously this is a second rare five we've had in the last 30 days for the city for 60 years we pulled on a 37 diamond T truck two weeks ago been in the bar for 60 years now to see a 59 cars to sit that long is crazy it's not that hold in the same garage that's the thing all right so you just want to just not fight this and just put all me we'll just put wheels and tires on it yeah let's do that get out of here did we bring a set of j-hook this is a straight axle car so if you want to go ahead and get under the frame rate I made a lot of cool cars to race it was raced it wouldn't bother me it even comes with raccoon footprints it's dirty this is also Alex can believe this something's cool so you know see shifters reverse lockout a 59 was the first year that had that okay so anything was straight stick would've been 58 and older so 59 was first one I actually had the reverse teeth lockout so nobody was gonna steal it were they no there's no way I guess I wasn't gonna get stolen so the reason why this car probably never found it's cuz it's a fence right there you couldn't see it see we do would never ever ever found this car no there was only a Crocker sitting right there this is an incredible walk-up an incredible find there's absolutely no way you can see this car but there's a fence up it's overgrown it's literally been in there for 60 years a 59 fuel Corvette they've been there for 60 years now we kind of looked at seed with the situation where we came here and decided to go ahead and bring a set of wheels and tires for it one thing we don't want to do on this Corvette it's damaged the fiberglass so we're gonna be as careful as we can get this thing on the ground and get it out it looks like there's gonna be an issue between those pillars right there is only seven feet the trailer is eight feet wide so we're gonna do as close as we can we're gonna pull all hundred feet of the winch cable out if it doesn't reach we're gonna have to probably use an axle straps to get to the car so this we were hoping this could be a 30 minute deal don't think it's gonna be so here's what our new secret weapon is I'm gonna have to give Alex credit for this I said just we have tons of wheels and tires at the shots that we need a set of wheels or these five oh four and a half 59 death well he said well instead of doing that because we're good stuck turn this before we got a set of universal wheels it actually fits all Chevrolet powders and I just kind of turn them around so you get the right spot so there you go our new weapon so instead of damaging the fiberglass or damaging the car at all we're gonna make sure it's on a good set of wheels and tires and get it out here carefully as we can to clean the power of the motor to see if it's a CS motor I guess we wait till we get outside maybe the first gas station look at that and we also come out without that sir is a flat table that is seriously flat that might be flat spot it'll just say to myself awesome check that so there were also a few of these cars that have metallic brakes yeah no it doesn't appear that this one does what you can tell without taking all this apart is there's actually a bed scoop on the back so that it's cool brakes so doesn't have that that's all right at least the wheel came off [Music] there's a piston mommy good sign so we're gonna have to get the window down sometimes it works sometimes they don't push out a little bit looks like it's gonna go so you'll steer it that's a good sign so far the first three wheels that we've been on are not locked up which is incredible probably should've said anything because now watch the left front of me locked up but what - are you using this so strong to do that the craftsman impact look at that craftsman strikes again gotta love it the window rolled down when I've set of wheels and tires on here relatively quick and it rolls it steers [Music] this Corvettes the straight acts on the back is actually nice the later ones are independent suspension the back so we could use these J hooks I should go all the differential pull it out killing it and this is why you need a hundred feet of winch cable we rarely use this much but man's can be perfect [Music] so actually to go to close parking lot take it off turn it back around it's not really designed to go backwards like this I don't want the doors come on lash I want the hardtop to come off I don't want the hood flying up and damage itself so a little bit more work but over all of us it's super smooth the original owner actually traded in a 54 Corvette for this 59 this is the original bill of sale actually from Atlanta Georgia very cool so as a relatively expensive car thirty-eight hundred ninety five bucks I gave him $1,000 trade in first 54 Corvette though that is awesome rarely do you see a free 68 Corvette with paperwork like that it's really neat and why this is important is the tank stickers they didn't have tank stickers on these cars so a piece of paper like this can be valued with the car very cool original registration and the original loan papers thank you a lot of times people tell you it's a one-family under one on her car unless you got the paperwork to back it up it's tough literally a one owner car and there it is mr. Sheppard same name on the address of this house incredible so I'm nervous about pulling this car backwards on the trailer cuz it's not designed to do that if that strap breaks the top comes on last will lose the top and the hood will actually flap that way the doors they go up it'll tear up the doors so we're gonna go and take the time get the car off the trailer turn it around and put it forward [Music] [Music] all right safety first took your time to turn the call around now we won't have to worry for the next 832 miles so it's gonna happen the last thing we want to do is damage a car that's a loaner 59 that's been in a garage for 30 years so let's go to Dallas guys
