B-17 Flying Fortress Destroys the Yamato Battleship in Ravenfield!

all right everybody bear in here and welcome back to World War two I mean welcome back to Raven field I guess both would be accurate look at this we've got an ell class destroyer we've got some p-38 lightning so I got a whole lot of marine core get tactical Marines what video game was that from we got some rib boats which doesn't stand for barbecue ribs unfortunately cuz you boys a little bit hungry today look at these guys now unfortunately we don't have a very good assortment of Japanese based weaponry but I mean look at this oh we got a helicopters but I couldn't find any cool World War 2 helicopters unfortunately the Japanese are very underrepresented in this game in Raven field modding community but that my friends is evo Jima this is the map by lore pert now we're gonna be showing off a few different World War 2 Pacific based maps that are incredible this is the Battle of Iwo Jima one of the biggest and baddest of the Pacific Theater oh my gosh man the Americans and the Japanese really got into it now I'd love to see this map updated and other other takes on Iwo Jima alright boys it's time to hit that beach let's go oh look at those look at that machine gun fire unfortunately all the other boat has machine guns and all my guys have rifles although one has the German paratrooper fg42 AR which is pretty cool so here we go we've got to take these flag points whoa oh man I tried to hit that and get some air but it did not happen all right so we're storming the beach I'm gonna go ahead and hit this flag with my boys the Japanese are coming down the beach right now oh my gosh they've got their core gawa I believe it's called oh no that's just a motorcycle the sidecar look at this come on boys you ought to live forever we gotta take this I want you firing on the move I want all Japanese infantry do I have to do this all myself so this is the first map that we're gonna be showing off and this is the Battle of Iwo Jima as it said look at that we've got some paratroopers and look at that we just got a car everybody on board we're heading to the next sale actually it's time to drive me a Sherman I wish would be really cool as if you had people that we're following you oh I don't have an ax have a gun or do i all right now we're gonna be taking this tank up and look at that that's the little motorcycle of a sidecar the Battle of Pacific nor the rather of the Pacific but yeah the Battle of the Pacific the Pacific Theater of World War two was incredibly fascinating when you compare like the two main factions involved the United States and the Japanese the Japanese I tell you what when you really look at it as far as like ground personnel infantry tanks get your pants or Shrek's away from me they really were lacking you know what they had really good airpower in the early part of the Wow really nice shot mate oh so we're gonna spawn on the ground here actually you know what I think it's time we take to the air and fly over Iwo Jima and get a really good view cuz look at that we got a six seven zeros popping up but we got this p30 lightning now we don't have any I didn't find any course hairs on the steam workshop the f4u Corsair which was like one of the better American planes of you know that was Navy Navy planes we have rockets yeah we do so we got to do some air strikes take out that tank which I believe is it all my god someone is hitting me with all kinds accuracy so there we go spiraling out but look at the p-38 lightning very iconic aircraft because they had the twin engines right a beautiful majestic aircraft and it's dead but that's alright we got ourselves another one so as I said this evil Jima map was made by lor pert and we've got we're saving the best for last it was it's this amazing map that has been updated and it is just incredible alright so let's see what do we got going on I think is that a Betty bomber we've got it let's take out that flak guns all up on me boys someone shooting at me bad is that the enemy bomber no oh really I ran out of oh man we're getting shredded I really wish they would work on air combat because it would be epic if they did we're gonna parachute out here and swim in oh my God we're getting strafed well look at that when you approach the beach this way you've got these barbed wire fences you've got that guard tower I don't think this is a historically accurate representation oh oh yep see he's got them mp40 I love it I love it all right oh my god that's scary we've got Japanese destroyers over there I'm gonna try to find fire some here we go all right I've got a secret mission that we got to go on I've got one soldier we need at least two to three more we're gonna be under attack oh my god tell me that's not a Japanese helicopter gonna strafe me we're doing okay we're being escorted by these L class destroyers I gotta get on the beach and attract recruit three more guys it looks like that guy's putting an mp40 to my face all right boys all aboard we're gonna try to hit the Japanese from where they're not expecting it there's a capture flag capturable flag including some rib boats on the other side of the island it looks like some of my friends are actually kind of the you know vanguard force trying to take over that Beach so we might arrive at a good time it really just depends on a lot of things I think they might have a destroyer back there so we're gonna find out in a moment this could be the best worst idea we've ever had and that's kind of how it looks right now all off everybody off oh come on the modders got me how appropriate all right we're back on it so I think one of the things that the modding community could really learn from is how fifth smell is approaching map lay out in kind of like how you can make objective based Maps right we've seen it with oh my god am I gonna get t-boned these aiming is gonna me he's trying to track me here we're gonna distract him whoa so the other are friendly destroyer look at this we've got naval battles going on ol up there we go they did and that destroyer sunk we did our part playing the decoy rabbit I'm actually gonna go get that Sherman tank and it's gone what's up boys welcome to the beaches is it in if for those of you who speak Japanese I'm wondering about pronunciation because I feel like Japanese is one of those languages you can really say awesomely like is it you watch him up or evil Jima no no no no that's my tank boys that's my tank yeah look at this m4 looks like m4a2 or m4a3 interestingly enough the Marine Corps I believe in the early parts of world war ii used diesel powered as opposed to gasoline powered i do not have a coaxial mounted machine gun so infantry combats gonna be a little trickier for me but you can see the airfield yes so i think it was the m4 a2 and then the army used the m4a1-s and m4 threes and that thing just does not survive too well oh my gosh man oh my gosh we got shot in the hips so this has been evil Jima now I would love to see this like approached more and unfortunately I'm fairly certain that like spectator mode is still broken in this game so we're gonna spawn on the beaches here I probably should have taken off helicopters but I know that the Americans and I think even the Japanese had interesting ideas for helicopters look at that look at these little bunkers up here oh wow that's sailed it I'm gonna try to shoot inside yeah think so Tama get rekt son we need just like man and we I mean I would like it's not let that we need it sorry boys you know just Oh tank combat the Japanese tank is approaching there we go the type 97 chi-ha which was one of the better Japanese light tanks the Japanese were not known for their tanks they weren't known for a lot of their you know weaponry they had something called a knee mortar and the irony was you didn't actually from your knee or else you would have broken it but you could you could it was easily portable and mobile they had some crazy mortars actually they had like some of the biggest mortars of the war they had a lot of really good artillery I don't think they had very good tanks even a lot of them were armed with just bolt-action Arisaka sand if being in the war the Americans had the bolt-action what was it em 1903 the Marine Corps had like the bolt actions where the army had the semi-automatic m1 Garrett's okay this is bad I mean obviously they had more than that but a lot of them were equipped with that so but yeah I want to see I think for Raven field to take that next step the big key thing that it will need to do next is have like this is just kind of tug of war we need better modes did you see that that guy jumped out oh my gosh well we took him out and he he had enough air to where he parachuted all right look at this map so this is the battle of the Pacific number two by Dai Kwok and L Papa this is one of the best maps I've ever seen it's incredible incredibly now we're gonna spawn us the Americans then we're gonna switch to the Japanese you can see that they all see here we go these Corsairs look at that and they it even has soldier look at that see so he's got Jing this guy's a double ace he's shot down he's shot down 12 Japanese fighters according to you know the insignia on that alright so we got the Corsair we beat out the other pilot who looks like he's just inspecting to make sure everything's going okay thanks Billy I'll see you back at the base watch out for that tail wheel looks like he's gonna be fine but another thing I'd like I don't know if it could be possible but some games gonna need to do it is make these aircraft carriers some people have made like here we go something in Raven field they either need to be vehicles or basically part of the terrain this carrier is acting as part of the terrain that destroyer over there is a vehicle but unfortunately if you're an infantry unless you're mounted on a fixed position like say machine gun turret as we've seen in plenty of mods and vehicles before then what's gonna happen is it's just not gonna work in it doesn't yeah it doesn't work to say the least but you still gotta be impressed Raven Field just blows my mind because it's like I think it's just like one guy there we go LSD shadow alright so here we go we got we don't have bombs but here's the enemy carrier like wouldn't be cool if I could sink the enemy carrier and there's the Yamato look at this flying overhead well wheel up and they've got the little anti-aircraft defense guns right there which look beautiful and they're custom models quad barreled it looks like there's the Yamato you could have like the Battle of the Yamato you could create that scenario we might actually get shot down another thing I'd like to do is like be able to land like if aircraft were done properly to where you could land I could land this thing actually who owns this island nobody owns this island we're gonna take this island it's gonna open up probably some new Air Force if we take it so I'm going to solo cap this thing you know all right I got my browning automatic rifle to be AR we're gonna head over here it looks like we've got an air tower we've got the hangar my gosh like I want to make a game where it's like battlefield 1942 in Raven field and I mean if I combined some of my favorite games together you could make a super game but like look at this map it's just so well done it's got a lot of depth and like you could obviously like work on like textures and stuff but like I mean you can see the frames I've got 100 BOTS there's there's been so much put into this map it's incredible and imagine if it was multiplayer now some of the some of the guys in the mod making community have reached out to me and told me about like there's this unofficial but also supported by steel raving like hey you can do that kind of a thing like a multiplayer mod I need to check that out and I know it's still work-in-progress and stuff but it's just amazing that that's being done it's it's just there's so much that could be done that you wish it would oh my gosh we spawn a b-17 in this hangar are you kidding me as well as some zodiacs oh my gosh all right boys oh god I can't I can't oh shoot this is gonna be tricky I cannot I can't change my camera on my view I literally have this or this so I would change that first off well I guess I can go bombing view and the bombing view is pretty good so here we go where oh wait there we go now it's working where's the Yamato oh there it is we are gonna bomb the Yamato with a b-17 oh yes was that enough to take it out probably not and we're getting hit in the tail by this flak gun but luckily we're pretty strong and sturdy all right so what we're gonna do is line up the Yamato here and make another pass it doesn't I don't have any Gunners or crew because I took that by myself right all right should we reload I'm gonna reload now I hope the timing isn't screwing me over here how many total bombs can we carry oh come on we still haven't killed the Yamato this is gonna this is gonna be nuts now I think in order to really kill ships oh my gosh my b-17 is getting absolutely smacked we've got about you know 33% integrity of the aircraft left right now and I love how the landing crafts are Higgins boats but we need the Daihatsu one all right so I'm getting absolutely smacked by this guy I need it I should have silenced him a little bit ago we're going down but if I do this right no oh look at that oh my gosh see that's amazing that's what I want to see but I want to see this aircraft carrier actually a vehicle and being able to moved and cuz like look at the crew don't worry about the b-17 spinning on its top on its nose like a freakin top but I actually took out that zero basics m20 but the little guys they're like imagine if there was an admiral right or a captain of the ship just like in that carrier directing it and all this was crude whether by AI or by a few players this is this is what you called grandiose dreaming so here we go how are we doing right now looks like I've got a tank available over there so we're gonna spawn in over there on the mainland where we've made some headway the Americans are really just starting to take advantage of this battle this is like a captured I don't even think this is a g4 m this is the g8 I believe which is the big big boy we've got a Japanese tank available to us we're gonna take that it reminds me of minnow war assault squad 2 then we got a p-51 Mustang but see there's so much detail done to this map that I think it's the best Pacific map all right soldier best of luck I want you to go out there give it 110% I'm hoping you're gonna play good the team's gonna play good have we taken all of the mainland's see like look at this these are the antiaircraft they're quad autocannon so it looks like I don't know there we go we got a zero flying there we go we took him out and look at him going down but this is the quad autocannon which I think in real life I don't know what caliber it would be we got Jeeps we got Sherman's who's shooting at me oh my god those guys are definitely red oh we got shot out of it who is covering the airfield we got the Japanese infantry the SN L F which stands for a special naval landing force I believe SN L F right which like obviously that's not what the Japanese called it because they speak Japanese but that's what the Americans called it which was the equivalent of the Marine Corps and they were known as fierce fighters the SN L F but they were kind of like also they kind of like dabbled in you'd almost call it Special Forces for the Japanese like they weren't they weren't equivalent I don't think they were clothing to just like regular Marines right so ironically we're gonna be an American taking a Japanese tank see these gliders wouldn't it be dope if you could have a map oh my god nice maneuvers buddy that guy's an ace you can tell by how good he can fly and you can have it like scripted so gliders would actually fly in and land it's almost like I wonder if it's possible we're where you should man do I have a machine-gun whoo main gun firing we've got some Japanese over here we're gonna head oh never mind we're gonna take this point because we want to capture it we want to give we want to chase the Japanese off of this island you know it's an island hopping campaign in the Pacific but yeah so we've played this map before but it was updated lots of new vehicles oh my god special table landing task force we gotta make sure they're all dead you guys just Yolo Jeep which is one of those like in the old days you'd call that an only in battlefield thing where you'd strap the c4 to the Jeeps and then run them jump out and then blow up the tanks and stuff like that man my buddy Pony lion made this one video where they literally strapped explosives to a tank and one of the guys one of their friends was in a plane and a lord a bad plane to chase him and then they blew up the c4 so the plane so the tank got launched in the air there was someone in the tank who didn't fired the tank main gun and shot down the plane that was chasing their friend it's hard to describe but I think it was the coolest battlefield thing I've ever seen in my life oh man right wow that guy is accurate hehe was using the same gun I was we're gonna lose that point I think and it looks like this is contested maybe me what I think we want to go over there so we're gonna spawn on the carrier again and look for what's the best way to get over there we've got that really awesome destroyer look at that this is one of the new additions now I'm not sure if the torpedoes work but you can see those things right there in the middle those are the torpedoes so you kind of have to come in at an angle and fire torpedoes but like break a field at a ride dude you can have some of the best someone just shot this thing how did they do that who shot that or did it just D spawn when you think about what the game is and what it could be you gotta be impressed with what it is given the size of the development team and amazing team and loose quotes because steel raven is just a mad scientist and i love him for it but it makes you wonder what it could be right i wonder how long this games could be developing an updatable or what's the next project for him alright so let's get in this course there and I want to actually there's these twin Flags which I don't know where they are exactly I think are they in the mountains oh my god they're in the mountains so we're gonna have to parachute alright we're gonna go slow motion here because I think that's actually a Japanese soldier right here I can't tell is that American or Japanese oh gosh don't don't let him shoot me oh my god we survived that alright we're alive yeah so you can tell that this bunker is awesome I don't know what these posts are for maybe they're supposed to have barbed wire on them and they just don't right now there was one other Japanese soldier lingering around the area so they weren't able to attack captured so there's some kind of a bunker Network oh that's a that's a Marine oh just does not remind me of the good old days of like the old Call of Duty's what is this this must go down to the beach it's a secret landing area oh no freaking way it's a secret tunnel so there's this one and then there's the flag up there now I want to take this one Oh God we got oh ha that's the torpedo boat what oh I thought it was a red oh my gosh they've got torpedo boats I need a B the torpedo boat in torpedo the Yamato over there oh wow we fired short it's so big you like how am I gonna miss well I found a way I disabled the Yamato with a bazooka probably because he was very very low on health but we did it oh man yeah see that's the thing like I've been playing Raven fields so much but when I play maps like this what I love is like it makes me feel like a kid again or like makes me feel like I'm playing Raven field for this first time but like I I've been watching narcos Mexico or rather I finished that first season that they had on Netflix and there was this one the guy who started the Mexican cartel he was he he had this quote and I really really liked it oh we got to jump up these steps that could be done differently maybe that's why the AI had a hard time but um it was like I don't see things how they are I see them how they could be and I feel like I can relate to that especially when it comes to like game development all right do we have this I don't know where that other point is it might be in there so let's actually try to find it but then I want to get on the torpedo boat I'm guessing it goes up there we go there's the flag and this guy was actually taking it so we took the coastal fort as it was called and the Japanese forces are down to what eight all right so where would the whole know is this working it doesn't work okay but imagine this howitzer as like a coastal defense I want that alright so here's the different spawn points I've got it on configure flags because the hill bunkers where you spawn in the torpedo boat you've got the hill bunker which is new and I believe the coastal fort is also kind of new and so this is the USS yorktown versus the IJ in the Imperial Japanese Navy kaga and they also have the Yamato which you don't really see because it's not part of the terrain like these carriers are it's actually like its own unique vehicles so what we're gonna do is I made it so this is the cool thing about it right I love this with Raven filled Thank You steel Raven this is just beautiful we could make I could change it so like blue defends all of this actually you know what let's do that here let's just it's like explore that and so the Japanese are gonna spawn on all of the peripheral things and I'm gonna try to fight them with the torpedo boat yeah see right here that's the torpedo boat I've got a spawn in and find it oh it looks like it's on the back hold on alright how do I get there over here this looks like it could be it yep here we go we've got some stairs a ramp there we go perfect and there she is and all of her beauty that is the torpedo boat tell me no sorry boys but that's mine I had to do it man oh my God look at this so I've never fired this torpedo boat before I can't find a way in it I'm literally inside of this thing oh there we go oh my god we got a frickin tail guttered haha this this Ouma I'm not sure but this looks like a Russian design but I'm not sure it definitely doesn't look like an American one but then again I like it's definitely possible that I'm wrong so right now if this thing was we've got two torpedoes right oh oh they they have this short that was weird why did they I think they have a distance which I'm not a big fan of I wish they would just but like remember in like battlefield 1 how they were dreadknots that guy just try to bomb me by the way so we got it getting close maybe that's so you can't just torpedo but I think the distance of the torpedo should be tripled maybe even quadrupled mic gunner just jumped off because he's like hey man I'm gonna go capture that thing by myself we no longer have air support but this is the Yamato ahead of us it's not popping up on the radar oh my god we just got we just got comedy oh dude they just bazooka me - oh my gosh now it's aiming the main guns I mean this is not good this is not good at all ah fire the torpedoes well guys come on look at this this game this map in particular are just incredible I mean Oh in the howitzer is doable so we've got to check that out oh my god thanks for the bullets you walked in front of me yeah oh he stole it back you gotta be kidding me Wow cubed cubed I really appreciate that buddy you're doing fantastic all right so we're back at the hill bunker and let's see all right if you would be so kind as to get off the gun there I say get off the gun mate I'm somebody else and I get shot what is this what is this strange like there we go okay so obviously we need an aiming reticle or else it's just like sheer guesswork we must fire oh they're taking that Beach down there all right we're close all the b-17 just bombed them bomb them back to the Stone Age that's great okay so we've got that's a friendly torpedo boat but that is an enemy artillery I mean oh kibbutz I got you mate Oh direct hit I think that b-17 is Japanese let's try to artillery it that was a terrible shot yeah it's got red tail tail elevator paintings paintings paintings really we have paintings on b-17s now it's hard to aim this thing oh you can so you can tell it ghosts are shot I think the shell just like star shots after a while yeah alright that Wow I think that's an enemy b-17 yes oh my gosh we almost hit it boys defend the fatherland what do you mean we're not German to you right so this is awesome I love the custom howitzer that's was one of the new things in the update as well guys is this not like the best map freaking ever for the Pacific Theater so a big thank you to the map makers the mod makers you guys just keep Raven field alive I can't wait to see how this game updates in the future I want to see other games that like spin-off from this idea it would be great especially some multiplayer stuff man oh the imagination in this game is just unending anyway guys thanks for watching another episode of Raven field I'll see you guys in the next video
