Hey guys, in today's video we are going to be doing a follow along tutorial, for this scene here I have provided the project in the description Which contains all the assets we will be using today as well as my own final scene All the assets are also free and they will also be individually linked in the description below Alright, let's get started 😄 So before we start sculpting our terrain I'll just like to go over the terrain settings As I have already set mine up So to start off in the details, these are the textures from the Unity's Environment package So here are the options here if you want to copy them down This one here is identical, I've just increased the size and altered the healthy and dry colour This is so we can add some diversity into our grass textures and just add overall interest to our scene Next we just have our textures, I don't have any tree models by the way I'll get to that later But for our textures we have just got a whole bunch ground grass textures, some rocks These three here are from the Rocky Environment Package (link in description) While these two are from Unity's Environment package Most of them have normals which is great as they will drastically increase the interest and overall detail in our ground textures So, if you have downloaded the project, I have provided a terrain here called 'level design' Which you can simply drag into your scene and you can see that they have all the textures and details set up for you ready to go! Lastly, make sure to flatten your terrain I have already done so I've just picked a value of 10 this is because we will be lowering sections of our terrain and if we didn't flatten we wouldn't be able to lower as you can see here we cannot go past this point Also turn off lightmap static, that way we are not baking lighting So, let's go into the settings real quick I'm pretty sure these are all the same I have just increased the detail distance this is the distance at which the grass will be rendered (max render distance) and I have also decreased the bending value as grass with billboards disabled tends to bend more with the wind effect and it just doesn't look good, so it's very important, remember to decrease that So that is everything, so let's get started Alright, so let's start sculpting the terrain I'm going to lower the opacity and increase the brush size and I'm going to use this brush as I find that it creates the most natural shape So, what I'm thinking of doing is just having a general mound here where we can have a campfire and then extend out, almost in a L-shape into the back here and then have a lake region around here
