how does a pro investor go to a hardware store compared to the average homeowner let's find out in the meantime smash that like button and go check out those don't sue me bro sure it's down below the noobs be like I need some hardwood floor because I'm gonna have more wear layers and I'm gonna be able to sand it down the pros be like I'm gonna get this luxury vinyl plank that's waterproof scratch resistant and it's only a buck 98 they probably get some coupons on it too and it even looks like hardwood floor nobody know the difference the only difference is when people walk in go ooh nice flooring you don't get to go yeah this is a hardwood from Africa noobs be like oh man there's water damage under the sink in the cabinet I guess I'm gonna have to replace the cab and it will pros be like let me fix the water problem I'm gonna paste some of these down on top of it make it look beautiful again nobody know the difference in case you're wondering these are little vinyl sticky pads that you kind of just put down and they basically tile together and there you go new surface that's waterproof newbs be like I need the fancy hardwood cabinets with the distressing and everything and I'm willing to pay $1,000 per cabinet because I just gotta have it the pros be like nobody know the difference once he install it these cabinets are all the thermofoil ones and nobody cares basically the same stuff it seems like people are like oh I've heard wood cabinets their maple their oak who cares they hold your dishes that you bought from Ikea noobs be like I got to do a bathroom remodel I gotta have all the tiny little tiles stacked up everywhere and the beautiful mosaic on the floor and and well then I gotta put really expensive accent pieces in and I'm just gonna spend $10,000 on a bathroom see what most noobs don't understand is when you tile a shower pan you actually have to float it and waterproof it it's really expensive most pros just look well if I put in a tub and then tile up it saves me a lot of money that's a 200 ollar tub waterproof the other option and listen to what the pros do when most of the rest of the bathrooms fiberglass looks fine nobody knows the difference oh this is subway tile if every less you think the kids care they don't care noobs be like oh my gosh I can get a tankless water heater for the cost of the tank if they don't realize they have to pay a plumber like $2,000 to make it all operate with the tankless system just buy a new freaking tank you know I had some people listen to me say that I'm gonna keep the windows on that house we're renovating like why are you keeping the windows you should replace them with dual pane windows there's so much more energy-efficient energy efficiency doesn't matter when the house doesn't have insulation in the walls and very little in the Attic dual pane windows waste of money look I will say if you're like a noisy place or a place that has really cold temperatures yeah you know what maybe insulate the walls maybe get some dual pane windows but for most like coastal regions like Southern California you know a lot of noobs are like oh I need a new front door and then they come and realize $1,700 just for the door slab not installed no new frame nothing just the slab is seventeen hundred sixty-four dollars that's when you come over here and you go ah I'm a stick with this $230 door or then you start realizing wait a minute why am I replacing the door and all just paint in color today oh my god this $3,000 set will make my whites so much wider well [Music] value now at this point some of you might be thinking well Kevin's gonna say get the $88 contractor toilet that you know it's just a toilet just makes poop go downhill right no at least spend a buck ninety-nine on toilets toilets yeah be careful okay you don't have to get like a $3,000 toilet that at least spent 200 ollars on toilets let's go on over to hardware oh my gosh these cabinets are so beautiful oh wait I don't care the noobs go why is it that all the good colors are always the most expensive ones and that's where the pros go I'm going to the granite yard and just picking up a slab this is where you don't want to find yourself this is where you get sold big time this is where which cabinet do you want notice they're all the special order really expensive ones Oh $2,600 for cold air oh I must have it huh dual temperature control it's like a car the noob goes I need this because it's ribbons and it's beautiful and I really like it the pro goes I don't care if I really like it I want to know what most people like and that's probably gonna be the chief of stuff $6 now this is my favorite brand at Lowe's I will give him that but 99 bucks for a hallway light oh I'm gonna come over here and get my six-pack with the LED lights and if you can't afford the 6-pack which is only 17 bucks per light fixture then get this one which is like 23 dollars per light fixture does the same thing as the hundred dollar one this one's LED the other one not better oh my gosh landscape path lighting rip up the landscaping start over everything says the new but the pros like landscape lighting I need a floodlight at the garage door done you know there's a lot of profit margin when they have a pop-up display like this oh no there are holes in the garage firewall what are we gonna do oh my gosh holes in a firewall that's that sounds terrible or it's a $5 tube of fire rated caulking the noob goes honey we're getting an epoxy garage it's only two hundred fifteen dollars except they don't give me enough flakes so I'm gonna have to buy another kit the pro goes $19 concrete bonding primer $29 paint done newbie like I need a 2x4 they grab a 2x4 the pro be like wait a second I know like 20 to 30% of these things are warped does this thing straight or is this gonna cause me problems the newbie like oh my gosh there's a hole in my roof it's gonna leak it where it's already leaking oh my gosh what are we gonna do I'm gonna call the roofer and they're gonna go fix my roof or they're probably just gonna quote me a new roof and then I'm just gonna replace the roof the pro comes over this here aisle and goes hmm 1597 roof cement and if you don't trust that that's gonna do it how about this extreme rubberized wet patch spend the extra twenty dollars and get the peace of mind from slap it on now a lot of people are into like the Trek's decks and the noob will go oh my gosh if I get treks it's not gonna warp in the Sun because they're gonna warranty it it's gonna be so much better than the wood over here cuz I'm not gonna get termites oh my god it's gonna be amazing and the pro goes why do I need a deck the newbie like I made $45 Smart Switches USB outlets and light up hallway outlets all this stuff the pro be like bro it's 50 cents for the switch for 50 cents an outlet I ain't paying more the new buys a Tesla is like I need the thousand dollar Tesla wall kit charger and the pro comes in here and goes nope I need the $13 a laundry machine plug and somebody to screw it in 220 good to go the noobs be like oh my gosh marigolds these are beautiful annuals the pros be like yeah they're called annuals because you have to come back every year and buy new ones that's why you buy perennials or the noobs be like oh my gosh I want flower beds and I could self stack these blocks and and everything will be beautiful a perfect the pros like bro do you know how to use a level and level masonry stuff good look I ain't doing it the newbie like I'll just put a new battery in the old smoke detectors that are there the pro be like uh-huh and the tenants are just gonna end up taking around after 6 months and then all not be in compliance with my insurance company the pro goes no no no no we're gonna get this $60 more expensive smoke detector but it's gonna have a 10 year battery so I probably don't have to deal with it at least 5 because we all know when they say 10 it's probably half that but 5 years of no complaining is better than 6 months noobs look at these propane grills and go well I want a natural gas one well then instead of spending 298 or on sale for 199 you're gonna spend like a thousand dollars but the pros come over here and buy the propane one and then for $60 get the conversion kit and spend 10 minutes and turn a propane tank into natural gas hookups for their natural gas grill now the noobs come over here and go pressure washer shopping and they start at the small one because they want to save money and then they're like no and get a get the big one well the pros go wait a minute the painter I'm hiring for a 30 bucks an hour he owns a pressure washer and if I spit from 80 bucks he'll pressure wash the whole house for me and I don't have to maintain it noobs be like wow $30 for a garbage can I'll get like four of these for my renovation project pros on the other hand be like or we'll just get a big dumpster and leave it out front in the street fill that thing up or the other option is called a trash company and get them to deliver like for recycling bins for eight bucks more every two months and then Hughes knows instead of these noobs be like I need locking garage storage for all my tools since I remodel so much pros be like I got too much crap and I gotta consolidate hey don't get me wrong I love Lowe's in fact one of my favorite credit cards is the Lowe's American Express a credit card this is it it's amazing 2% back and it's not a promotion or sponsorship here I think that should be obvious but the bottom line is you don't want to be a noob in what you buy so I figured hey let's take a Realtors point of view and show you what actually creates market value and what doesn't so hopefully all of you renovators out there we'll have a little bit of experience now in terms of what to choose and what not to choose because you should always be asking yourself what creates money and what does it if it doesn't mean more cash flow I ain't gonna spend money on it alright and if you're an investor or an agent make sure to hit the link below so you can get some more of these amazing new vs. Pro insights in the
