Avidyne IFD440 Feature Overview VLOG - Flying in Beechcraft Baron Cockpit

this video is going to highlight some of the features of my newly installed avid ein IFT 440 in this video we're cruising at 7,000 feet tracking the Victor 3 airway the map page features a data tab which is fully customizable I have my setup to display the next Waypoint which displays desire track distance fuel remaining upon reaching the Waypoint and estimated time in River below I have the nearest airport displayed with bearing and distance at all times as I scroll down I can see my destination Airport fuel remaining in gallons as well as time remaining minimum safe altitude ground speed and other navigational information for those wanting a larger view the map the data tab can be minimized simply by touching the data tab a flight plan tab in the FMS can be used to edit and display your flight plan you can toggle between the expanded view which will display Waypoint along the route cursor which will enable you to scroll through the map as you select each Waypoint in day contact view which will only display your entry and exit points along a narrow the flight plan can also be expanded to be a full-screen view which is not shown here the info tab will give you information about a particular Waypoint in this case Sierra golf Julia st. Augustine our destination Airport we have access to elevation it's into the altitude radio frequencies runway information arrivals approaches and weather on this flight I wasn't receiving my data link but this is where you would view meet our taps winds aloft and temperatures along the route tab you can store frequently use routes to load a flight plan and matter of seconds the waypoint tab is used to add and edit user-defined waypoints the nearest tab is another very useful tool it can display nearest airports to your current location nearest to your destination for those times when you need to look for an alternate nearest vo ours ndb's intersections Center frequencies flight server station user waypoints and airspace in cruise flight I usually remain on the map page which gives me plenty of situational awareness including my next Waypoint and nearest airport to my given location at any time this is also where you can add weather overlays including weather radar meters pyramids and signals from any page pressing the procedure King brings you to the FMS by plan tab from here you can select your approach procedure and choose vectors the final or an initial approach fix on the map page you can adjust the scale when connected to a shaitan as you increase the scale the IFD will display fuel range both with and without reserves this is based on the current fuel burn in the fuel onboard in normal crews I usually display at 40 miles and zoom in as I approach my destination the map however can be displayed all the way down to 2 nautical miles while in rew pressing on the left nav will display your destination Airport frequencies in a logical order you will need them heythis followed by approach then tower in braille while still at your departure Airport frequency Shaun will relate to your departure Airport the inner tab will display enroute approach departure and center frequencies relative to your current position the recent tab will display frequencies you have used recently the ox page has many useful calculators these help you determine true air speed wind direction a fuel planet brain prediction and trip statistics there are also a few timers and for those willing to take the time you can also add your own checklist as well a feature that we'll be handing when the IFD 100 I pad app is released the setup tab allows you to customize everything in the system tab displays tattling status as well as software stands uncoupled to the shaitaan' it can display your pure flow fuel remaining fuel used anymore the alert tab displays all active alerts and messages the audio tab gives you additional volume control as well as set a preset list of communication frequencies to see more videos including flight plane entry and to write along on an actual ayah for departure as well as an instrument approach with the IFD be sure to subscribe to my youtube page thanks for watching
