Autism Nighttime Routine

okay you guys have been asking for it so nighttime routine for a 14 year old girl with autism nonverbal autism if you're new here that's my daughter let's let's I'll show you what a nighttime routine looks like hi are you looking out the window at it's weird having his nest she hoards all the blankets and pillows you can find in the house don't you so Nabi has a respite caregivers here she'll get a bath like right after dinner right before dinner hey we're gonna go in mom and dad's bathroom you know they'll assist her with her back a lot of times she'll just take a bath in the morning sometimes she won't take a bath night and night at all but I thought she was enjoy that she loves love's baths don't you it's like your favorite thing in the whole world you what do you what are we doing we're taking a bath at both hands remember there you go back that's right it's actually up here in front here all right right here right here there you go back there you go perfect okay let's take a bath so we mainly just assist now with Abby's bath she does most of the steps on her own it's you know some some direction some prompting for her and then like you know helping her rinse to get the shampoo out of her hair really well cuz she has a hard time with that but it's mainly just assistance now back when we started this channel a little over two years ago it was it was pretty much like we had to bathe her so she's come a long way it's she's making huge progress same thing with like brushing hair and brushing teeth and all that you know getting dressed all that stuff she's made a lot of progress with her ABA therapist that we actually work on these things during ABA to help teach her these skills [Music] you ready yeah how do gets her nighttime meds right before we know start any nighttime stuff so she starts to lose energy and wind down boom or helping in the evening than we do in the morning what's wrong you me do it you need help okay also renewed here you might be wondering about her pajama ensemble so this is the first part of it these are regular just like onesie pajamas around see into the pockets back here and the zipper in the drawer all right get your a job I'm fixing it let's get you to thrush is it there's a thick plant in our shot F okay so this is Abby's baby buddy toothbrush it's actually it's under different name nails on her Compaq I will put a link for it down below this is a ultra sonic toothbrush it actually needs new a new brush head you need new bristles fortunately for you I have a collection of them because I had the I had the dad version of this ah so this toothbrush will actually run for two minutes and then it'll stop on its own but it it pulses every 30 seconds to let you know to move to a different quadrant of your mouth people you already own a different quadrant huh I know you don't like water drops and the same bugs you okay going the treadmill huh the cool thing about this toothbrush is that it's 360 degrees the brush bristles are so they do a much better job because they clean on all sides at once instead of just one sided toothbrush mom and brother are home ten o'clock just now is is just now getting his dinner so you know in in all reality like sometimes she just passes out on the couch or passes out in a room rocking on the couch and we get her up and put pajamas on her a lot of times if we put her in bed before she has fallen asleep she'll be up for a while in a room and we don't like locking her in her room because we do have to lock the door at night to keep her safe so she isn't get out of her room so a lot of times she just falls asleep on the couch and then we dragged her upstairs put her pajamas on her and send her to bed it's time to go tonight yes it is it's time for bed you had your pills an hour ago look at you you're fading yeah you had a bath you had a car ride you had cookies you had milk I know right it's like best night ever huh Jose you want to go in a car ride and jam jam out and cookies and milk before you go to bed okay all right you ready let's go to bed say good night to everybody give everybody kisses oh they you bloom kisses that was very sweet second night brother oh that's a good one I guess papi okay let's go to bed so the final piece of her nighttime ensemble is this denim vest it's kind of stretchy looks like a elastic denim stuff but it gets button on backwards and that's what keeps her from grabbing the neck of her pajamas and is yanking hard enough to either break the zipper or unzip it and that goes on backwards I usually leave the top button I'm done just for her comfort you and turn around little little talent show how do you say bye don't don't close it out you're not camera yeah so that's your evening attire right I'm leave your hair down yeah a little toothpaste right there can I have a hug please Thanks love you huh huh can you get your pillow out of the nest can you get it go get your pillow go get your pillow yep pillow and blanket blows all of her blinds these are room darkening since it's getting brighter earlier helps you to stay asleep when you're supposed to be asleep huh we don't blow dry our hair at night because the blow-dryer gets our all hyped up way overexcited all right I love you tonight you'll see tonight appears no are you waving goodnight love you and then we just have her doorknob turn around backwards oh yeah I forgot there's a camera right there in her room so we can see at night make sure she's okay make sure she's in bed all that stuff don't need easy just need possible so that's it
