end well i said this is the uh rematch of the finals bruno and i were upstairs talking about it that's what i was trying to find what year it was 2018 or 19. 20 i think this is not last year before all started to run together because cooley won the canadian championship and wasn't at the provincials actually good room room room room room room off course brendan is our defending canadian champion right off winning his first briar after losing three straight years in the finals this bump is better it's nice to see him break through in the bubble last year deserved it at that point okay hit and roll under seems yeah packed you stood a good chance of being one of those guys that uh just couldn't win that final game so we're just pretty happy to see him could be a little correct oh he's a great representative for alberto until yeah there's a lot of good teams that kept losing that final for a lot of years and there's always a lot of discussion of who was going to go into the bubble for alberta last year yep you know because our defending champion but i didn't have won the national that's right both would have been great representatives and obviously two of the top teams in the world between patreon okay all three of them go touch high since here 2019 was when he lost the fight they touched high side that seemed right lost the final the briar no um stern may lost the final 2019 maybe it was covered i've lost years with kovalev i know me too that's why i had to look because it all runs together last year's whoa and he's there's lots of uh he would have been gonna turn 20 so it had to be 20 20. no i think it was that year that was that year right that he lost the fight and all that clean well well watcher won the provincials the year before last yeah last year oh the where was that being played uh no it wasn't saskatchewan this weekend but she goes out east afternoon yep it wasn't suspension yeah i'm pretty sure it was in saskatchewan uh so then she won her spot no she goes to nova scotia same was thurman i'm pretty sure stern may's heading there and hardy's heading there good shot so terry uh kerry obviously kevin's sister but she's actually jamie's twin sister not many people realize her and jamie are twins i'm sure she's more proud of jamie than kevin chaser should move there jamie's like a deputy minister up there in the territories now well back everybody says a few times but then they won every event that year supposedly yeah but then that same year and the briar play announced they won they won the briar that year and the worlds yeah i heard that story lots that they were unbelievable that year until well quite a few years i bet there was a four year stretch where they just won everything and tetley and uh mccarroll played third and um scott bailey scott bailey who actually uh ended up uh marrying a good friend of ours um lori or darlene kidd who played third for a tina when they won the uh my wife when they won the canadian juniors small world yeah bailey's a good guy so really they're close friends with your wife they're not closer actually i always like scott he was a lot of fun on the road the road and i'm sure it's the same now you got to know everybody on all the different teams and you became good friends with people and yeah it's a it's a big family that's for sure when you're out on the road all the time actually the other day i had a camera or something came up on facebook and dale ness who played lead for gee hemings him and i got to be buddies on the road there for years and he started texting me again i hadn't heard from a long time so it's a very small world good job my buddy scott meek and work with gee hemming's third uh after pierre charrette who was after pierce repeat maybe before pierre charrette what was the guys i can't think of who he had after pierre he lost two briar finals with pierre and i don't think he made another he made another briar but he didn't he didn't make another playoff i don't well i'm sure scott me can listen he can tell us the guy's name that he worked with at uh royal ottawa ontario here was golf pro too i thought he might have been but this other pitcher is my good buddy greg leggett who uh he's actually a former alberta junior champ and he's been the multiple men's provincials and uh he's from edgerton alberta and carrick's uncle bob bishop is uh also from there and they were at bob's cabin and so carrick brought it out for the family to have a look at the briar trophy after they won it so so greg sent me this picture afterwards let's talk about the other picture yeah so the other picture like you can see mike cinched up his belt oh not that part you know it was pretty special actually to get that award i got to say thanks to everybody but it's bill's big special thanks to all the staff here i mean really it's not an individual award it's everybody you guys are involved in it well we're pretty proud that you got it our whole family went and saw you there and we're pretty excited for you we knew about about two weeks before you got it but so did your wife but i don't think anyone else knew at the time somebody said they sent me a message said it never sounds like i never shot three under but nice through three under lots and then he wonders way better i'm a way better golfer than curler now so i think you're mulberry made a nice freeze and then uh stole one and then they crashed the guard and that was tardy yeah mulberry is alberta jr u18 champ beforehand and represented alberta at the canada winter games same year yeah one of the best ever u18 teams i think in alberta for sure ever gotta be i mean to win provincials and the alberta winner game same year that's pretty impressive when you beat normally these would be the same people yeah but i don't know anybody's ever done it before i guess it's only every four years yeah exactly well new 18 only started so many years ago that's true that's very good don't get me wrong that's true it was pretty impressive anyway both in the same year it's hard to say that when you had a walker i think one at once okay if you look down i think brandon might you won't be able to play the tick or remove that rock off the center line until i assume you can move it after seconds or after the five rocks then you can but once it's biting the center line you can't touch that stone so yeah that's uh that's the new rule but it's not actually taken on by uh curling canada yet it's only been uh the world curling federation that's taken that on yeah plus they've been they've implemented a uh time time clock rule that they're gonna start timing per end instead of one game clock for the whole game it's gonna be each end is gonna have its own time oh so you're oh we've seen that and rather than sharing oh i see we've seen it before but um they're actually bringing it into competition like world curling federation uh events so there's some mixed opinions out there about the rules of course there's mixed opinions about everything but yeah yeah you know what the only thing i beef with is it drives me nuts then they're separate rules for the game yeah yeah it'd be nice if they coordinated it well and plus the other thing that drives me crazy is that you know we're trying to bring people into the game to teach them a game and the rules are constantly changing let's figure it out the right rules and stick with them for a while because i'm confused sometimes and i'm totally in the game 24 7. i can't imagine the average curler out there trying to watch what's going on and why the rules are different and why they change well and then the the slams have done some different things too they've tried different rules and different formats things like that just keep it a little interesting some little different format kind of kind of like the ryder cup does do you like getting both so they've done a good job of kind of making each event like if you could yeah it's thin okay yeah like a thin corner well i was talking yellow red but maybe that's not good yeah yeah well we haven't had the chance to thank our sponsor have we i don't want
