hey everyone welcome back to my channel today I'm gonna be testing out a new way to remove a gel manicure I shared my preferred method of removal last year it was a process that required zero foils I really am NOT a huge fan of foils I find them difficult to apply I don't think they work as well it's the way that I like to do it but what I'm going to show you today is something that is really comparable to foils but it looks so much easier cleaner and neater so I bought this kit on Amazon and inside is basically everything you need to remove your gel manicure except for the acetone but there are little Clips so today I am going to put them to the test see if they work hopefully this becomes another easy way to remove gel manicures because as we all know that is the worst part about them so I am just gonna open this up show you guys what's inside and we're gonna get started so this is the t-nut or gel removal kit I found it on Amazon for less than $10 and I love that everything comes in this receivable bag which is really easy for storage inside is a nail brush a pack of cotton remover pads ten nail clips a cuticle pusher and two files one 400 over 4000 which is superfine and one 100 over 180 which is incredibly rough it's perfect for filing down gel or acrylic but it's far too aggressive for the bear nail so keep that in this kit for gel removal only like I mentioned earlier this kit does not come with acetone so you will need to grab a bottle since it is an essential component to the removal starting with that rough 100 over 180 file I'm going to begin buffing off the top layer of my gel manicure so this is going to help thin out the Polish and help expedite the soaking process so when using a file like this you want to make sure of a couple things one that you're keeping the file on the gel polish only avoid the cuticles the fresh nail growth at the bottom of the manicure the tips of your nails and the skin all around them and to pay close attention when you file because this will work through the Polish very quickly and you do not want to hit your natural nail so the main takeaway here is that this file is really aggressive and it can and will destroy not only your natural nail but it's rough enough to shred the skin around your nail as well so just be really careful [Music] [Music] you'll know all the nails have been buff once the top layer of polish has been removed and there's no shine left to the manicure I was really careful around the edges so there are some areas that have a bit of shine but that's okay the soaking should take care of it now it's time to grab the clips I'm only going to set aside five since I'm only doing one hand at a time and then I'm gonna grab the bag of cotton pads these pads are so much thinner than I thought they would be I've never used any of this slim so I was really curious to see how saturated it would get and how saturated it would actually stay so I just played around with the clips and the pads to get a feel for how they'd wear and I determined that folding the cotton pad in half would work best for me so it would not only double the thickness of the pad but it would fit nicer into the clip and I didn't want a wet pad sticking out too much or leaking down my fingers so the folding worked perfect alright so taking the first pad I folded it in half soaked it in acetone it really didn't take much for the entire pad to absorb the remover so a little bit goes a really long way here then I laid the soaked pad horizontally across the clip placed my pinky nail on top of it and then clipped it into place it was really that simple the nail felt like it was completely nestled into the pad and the clip felt really secure so from here I just repeated that process on every other nail and I left my thumb for last [Music] all right so the clips have successfully been applied to the first hand they don't feel terribly tight I wouldn't say they feel loose but I'm curious to see how much they really are soaking in this cotton pad I do love the clips so much easier to use than foil it got a little tricky near the thumb you could tell but I'm definitely only gonna do one hand at a time so it says to wait 18 to 30 minutes which is honestly a really long time I might go sit watch a TV show answer some emails since I do still have a free hand and then come back when it's time to remove them so here's what they look like up close the cotton pad I folded them all in half but they are still peeking out a little which is fine I don't feel like it's leaking down my finger which is something that I have noticed whenever I tried to use foils so that's a plus but I'm gonna go let them soak for a bit and I'll see you guys in a few okay these are definitely a little difficult to work with we're gonna take them off kind of see how we're doing and if we need to soak a little longer oh my god did you see that it just popped right off after taking off that first clip I'm literally blown away by how well it worked so I went ahead and took off the rest of the clips and then used the cuticle pusher to remove any stubborn bits of polish [Music] once that was done I took one of my regular cotton pads they're a little thicker than the ones that were provided and I soaked it in a stone and rubbed it over each nail to clean up any remaining polish excuse my french but holy crap I am so freakin impressed I had a feeling they were gonna work I didn't know how well they were gonna work but they worked so darn well that I don't think I will ever remove my gel in any other manner it takes a lot for me to say that but oh my god even my soaking method this is so much easier like so much easier when I took that first one off and the polishes Legba lift off the whole nail I was shocked I was actually shocked holy crap that was amazing so I'm gonna go do the second hand off-camera now that you saw how it works I don't feel the need to refill in the whole thing but then I'm gonna come back wrap up this video and there may be a surprise at the end so don't X out just yet so here are my nails they look great there is zero damage to them all the gel is removed I just washed them and use the little nail brush to clean them but before that I took this really really fine four hundred four thousand grit nail file and just lightly buffed certain areas that were a little uneven so not the whole nail not every single nail just certain nails that looked like they needed a little touch-up it's the most gentle grip I've never felt a file that soft for sure the softest one I've ever owned so now I'm just putting a little bit of cuticle oil on them and yeah you can see they look so so good I'm obsessed with them I love this length I'm so happy yeah they look amazing it looks so so healthy ah I am so impressed with this entire kit like honestly beyond impressed that I want to send one of them to one of you guys so I am hosting a giveaway this is
