Astro Colony: 7 Things You Should Know Before Playing

since it took me almost 50 hours of game time to realize the last thing on this list I've decided to come back and do seven things I wish I knew when I first started Astro colony so you're at this point in the game 20 minutes half an hour in depending on how you're building and you're just waiting on resources if you really want to speed things up do not forget your Harpoon connectors one of the best places I find is right in the middle there and grab any of these large islands within range with any luck you'll have two or three most starting points we'll have at least one this one started with three like so throw down some miners now watch those early resources come flowing in sick of wire is making our best look messy just thinking below the floor you don't have enough materials to build the floor you say once you hit destruction and construction with the ability to place floor Box means you can deconstruct the starting floors [Music] like so wires can be then placed directly underneath and the flooring were placed directly above them does take a little bit of time but it is so much nicer to look at like so now doesn't that look nicer while it does cost you a bit in Copper to lay all the power lines underneath the costing flooring is minimal because you've got the resources refunded from deconstructing the floors that were already there [Music] just a quick one with logic blocks while this here works it's not efficient from can in fact stick up to five resource types into a single pusher [Music] thus eliminating the need for the others [Music] now your research has progressed and it's time to replace your asteroid catches with the auto asteroid catches instead of deconstructing and rebuilding the old ones simply look at them and hit you will automatically upgrade to the highest available version of the building that you have researched this will also work for smelters and Constructors later in the game [Music] once again your research has progressed and we want to replace those dirty carbon generators with lovely solar panels ah much better however you are underestimating how advanced the solar panels in Astro Colony are they are so advanced in fact they don't even need sunlight to work in which case why even have them on top of your ship why not just put them underneath ah lovely space saved now what's that you want to go vertical like so but now how do you get your resources to your smelter on the deck below let me introduce you to janky conveyor belts they are a touch fiddly but the process is quite simple the wall as high as you need to go in floors at each level ring the vertical belts or descending belts either way works and then place them in a zigzagging pattern and now remove the support structure congratulations you've got physics defying belts which can be applied like so step one place supporting structures Step 2 place your diagonal conveyor belts step 3 remove support structures and watch the resources flow though admittedly hip to the support structures depending on your Aesthetics you may want to conceal it completely because it is somewhat broken [Music] not only do they defy gravity but there are also trans-dimensional allowing resources to pass through from the back [Music] a little bass up and running but we are stuck waiting for Gathering resources so what do we do the thing that I did not work out for almost 40 hours [Music] using the plus and minus hotkeys on the keyboard you can increase game speed up to 16 times its base rate thus significantly reducing the resource Gathering time it can also be reduced to quarter speed but I don't know why you'd want to [Music] I hope these tips helped and if you have any others feel free to leave them in the comment section below and I'll check them out myself
