Ashtyn bought a 1/4 of land! 🙂

all right guys it's been a long day it's may 9th as you know that we spent the whole day burning um we just got to this field we just moved to this one yeah yeah we're done to burn now and uh it's all out and cleaned up so ash is doing some heroin as you already know so she's on the 96 20r with a 90-foot herald uh that tractor's uh ours yes uh but the hero is her father-in-law or my father-in-law i should say so this field that we're standing on right here is a quarter and uh it's ashton's she bought this field uh this winter this is the first field that she has bought personally so uh she's super excited about that she's got a smile ear to ear as she's uh harrowing this stuff and obviously yeah we're still up north by the way if you didn't know that [Music] [Applause] huh [Music] so the reason why we're harrowing is because uh whoever had this field prior to us um didn't have a very good spreader on their combine and uh there's lots of places where it's like this thick maybe even thicker like eight inches thick worth of chaff and straw so it's just not a very good seed bed so we're just gonna try and harrow it out level it out and make a better seed bed that's kind of what we're trying to do here beautiful evening as you can see picture would have been awesome my truck wasn't on the hill to ruin it so the hero i do believe is an elmer's i don't know anything about it in fact i haven't even ran it you think ashen is going to let me run this thing on her field absolutely not and i was helping uh burn the other fields so for the one pass that i did make in that tractor it's a whole heck of a lot smoother than my uh tracked one that's for sure she's coming a little bit faster in which case i got to make sure that i can actually get myself out of the way here woohoo so this doesn't have a lot of pressure on them because we're just trying to go like this with the straw that's all we're trying to do boys little dusty oh boy [Applause] [Music] beautiful evening oh that's going fast mike can't run that fast i'd have to be out here on a side by side so yeah there's trees i say that in every video every time i come up here not used to them doing that everyone knows that canada is known for beavers this is from a beaver right here they cut this tree down and they cut another one down right in there right there also we have ticks out already so i found some ticks on me from walking in that grass and that's a bad deal because lyme disease actually no uh a person with that and uh it is a very serious thing [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] so this is the job that it's done just kind of stirs it all up levels out any of the clumps spreads them around a little bit that's all we're trying to do and i don't know much about heron harrowing um but uh i'm learning or trying to learn and this is a mid harrow and then there's a heavy harrow and if you want to know well mike what's the difference in a mid harrow and a heavy hero i have no idea i'm sure somebody will tell me because i have no idea i i know nothing about heroin you guys we don't do it at home [Applause] [Music] what you're gonna do what you gonna do how's it going she's wearing her case hoodie how's it feel how's it feel to be in your own field that you just bought that's awesome so what's your thoughts process here is it getting dewy out to me so apparently if it gets tough and dewy it doesn't spread real well it kind of rolls and clumps and i don't know i don't know but that's not cool okay okay so to my knowledge always a little bit of straw kind of drags around in your arrows and these are hydraulically tensioned i do believe so you can put more pressure on them or less pressure on them change the angle of the tines you can change the angle of time and she's gone oh yeah by the way you'll hero a lot faster than you seed we seated like 4.8 mile an hour i think she's hairline at like 9.8 an hour and she's out of here we're gonna have to go back to our truck so yeah saskatchewan is the land of the living skies so we always get some pretty sweet sunsets we're gonna see if we can't catch up with her here ouch oh that was a hole so oh this is hard on my air filter in my truck we're gonna have to start drifting here yeah there's a bent timer too that happens so how those end times how they get bent right there is if you turn too sharp and you back that harrow up that's how they get bent so the little bit that i do know about heroes is i don't like the cable pull so what pulls those wings or cables see them one there and two there's two cables per wing that pulls on that wing i'm not a fan of that i prefer a pick uh framework like uh like an actual steel boom or something whoa whether i get too close here roll up the window mike it's gonna get dusty back up might get the heck out of the way okay obviously not that way mike doesn't know what he's doing okay okay let's go this way all right all right see the cables one two they're too floppy i don't like that i i don't like all that floppy loopy goofy stuff give me a fixed frame but i don't know maybe yeah i don't know i don't know i'm not a harold guy okay i'm not a harold guy stuck right on in here bastard is feeling a little uncomfortable round two smiling at me this is fun we're just enjoying this stuff guys oh okay you guys have yourself an awesome one we're gonna finish this we go we gotta have some light action so when you're a kid growing up on a farm the only thing you want to do is you want at least farm late enough hopefully your parents let you go late enough that you can turn your lights on okay that's really important as a farm kid and apparently it's still really important if you're 35 like me all right guys thanks for being awesome
