(somber music) - Oh, hi Delish come on into my kitchen. - [Delish] How long have you lived here? - I've had this place for
about a year and a month, but I've probably slept
here for a total of like three months cause I'm
traveling all the time and I'm never here. - [Delish] What is your
favorite part of the kitchen? - [Antonio] My favorite
part of the kitchen. I would say it's at the island
because that's where everyone sort of congregates right
when they come to my house. I had no idea that I had a
garbage until I discovered that the garbage is
actually right over here. I can be a little aloof
sometimes and I didn't realize that all my pots and pans
could actually be stored right in here. And then this is evidence of
my oldest sister, Carolina. She was visiting here recently. She hates the sound of clinging pots. So she put like these
little towels in between all of my pots and pans. - [Delish] Do you have
a favorite hot your pan in your collection? - This is my version of
the best souvenir ever. Cause it's one that you have for life. My pride and joy. This is my favorite little pot. I boil water in here just cause
it makes me think of Paris and what a lovely time
I had while I was there. - [Delish] If you could change
one thing in your kitchen, what would it be? - If I could change one
thing in my kitchen, space. My kitchen is right in the
middle of the apartment, so it's kind of away from any windows, but that's New York, it's
what you sign up for. - [Delish] What is the biggest
disaster you've ever had in this kitchen? - The biggest disaster I've
ever had in this kitchen, it wasn't like a total disaster, but I had a few friends over
for dinner several months back and we all kind of got distracted. The water was still boiling
with pasta water and the pasta got to the bottom and then it crisped up and it got really burnt. So it wasn't like a total nightmare. It was just a pain in the
butt cleaning it afterwards. But that's as dramatic as it gets. - [Delish] Who is the coolest
person you've ever cooked for in his kitchen? - The coolest person I've ever cooked for in this kitchen, Rema Rema is one of the most
important people in my life. I think she's the coolest person I know because she's always herself. She never puts it on. She never has to like shift,
which I really appreciate and respect. - [Delish] What's your coffee order? What are you drinking today? - I have two double shots of
espresso, over ice and like a generous splash of oat milk. That's typically what
I have in the morning. - [Delish] What are three
things we will always find in your fridge or freezer? - Let's see. This is maple syrup from
Vermont that my dad gets. He's a physician. He works at a hospital and
one of the nurses actually has her own maple farm and
they make their own maple syrup and they have these really cute
stickers and they have like different gradients of like
the color, the light amber is really nice as well,
especially on waffles. I really love it. And in vinegar sometimes and
mayonnaise, sorry, not sorry. You actually can't buy this. I'm basically a child
and I'm very nostalgic. A lot of what I do gets run by nostalgia. I love Gorton's fish
sticks when I was a child and I ate them. They were basically the size of my finger and now they are whole filets. A favorite way to have it since you asked is with ketchup because
it's really the only way to have it. And also frozen peas, which
I definitely have somewhere I don't really understand
moderation very well. So I'll have a whole bag of peas with my Gorton's fish
sticks and then some ketchup on the side. The lovely folks at Belvedere
sent me over a bottle of vodka with my name on it and also it lights up. My father is a Polish man and
the Belvedere is basically like Poland's presidential palace. It's like a symbol for
Poland for a Polish father to have his Polish son's
name on a bottle of vodka was by far 100% the proudest
moment my dad ever had, it wasn't, the Emmy's,
wasn't my university degree, it wasn't coming out. It was none of that. It was his son's name
on a bottle of vodka. - [Delish] What are three
things we will always find in your pantry or your cabinets? - These are called smart
sweets, not an endorsement, but I love them. They're shockingly low in
sugar, shockingly high in fiber. These are awesome
especially for breakfast. I have massive bags of these
and I fill up my little jar. When I ordered this jar,
I thought it was gonna be this massive jar and I
was so excited cause I always wanted to have a candy jar as a grownup. And so this one's a lot
smaller, but sometimes in life you get what you need and not
necessarily what you want. So maybe it was a sign, but
let's look inside the pantry. We were filming our
latest season of Queer Eye that just came out. I was queer, I were in Japan. And while we were there we
tried some amazing foods that changed my life. One of them are these honey
butter roasted almonds. I believe they're South Korean. They taste like butter
and honey and an almond. And apparently they're
not that bad for you. But I found them online and now I order them in multiple bags. And whenever somebody comes
over, I always give them one and so I'm constantly reordering these. I'm always fully decked out in
all the gummies cause I love them and it's like my little
treat at the end of the day. I love chickpeas. I always go for the low sodium
because they're great in any solid and they're really good for you. Cinnamon is a really important one. Cinnamon is probably the spice
that I go through the most. I put a lot of it in my smoothies. It's a really good anti-inflammatory
or so I'm told always always a lot of almond butter,
like 10 different types of mustard olive oils
in balsamic vinegars. I can't get enough. My favorite gift to get,
it's a good olive oil. Good olive oil makes me really happy. I can just sip on it with
the spoon and it brings me a lot of joy. Always have at least one
can of San Marzano tomatoes. If I wanna make like a lazy
tomato sauce or like some kind of a bull on ice situation
during the week and if I don't wanna leave the house and
I have some frozen turkey. - [Delish] Anything we'll
never find in your kitchen? - Food coloring, fake food
coloring makes me really uncomfortable and I get it that
it's really cute on cupcakes and on cakes. If that's something that you
will definitely never find. But what I lack in food coloring
and all that kind of cake decorating stuff, I more than
make up for in the shocking amount of salt that I have, I
have these little mini packs of Jacobsen salt that you can
travel with so you can always have your flake salt. I have my smoked maldin, regular maldin a massive tub of Jacobson. There's really no shortage of salts here. And then just in case
there's more salt over here and more spices. Nice little honorable mention. I love Old Bay seasoning on my popcorn. I think it's delicious. For Old Bay they found out
that I loved their stuff and so they sent me a really
nice label with me on it. So unfortunately it's
not available in stores. - [Delish] Can you talk us
through some of the cookbooks that you have in the kitchen? - I only have a few cookbooks
that are actually showing all the really old school
ones from like the old Esquire Party Book that Ted Allen
gave me, which is right down there, for some of my favorite
ladies from Chrissy Teigen, Amy Sedaris, Nigella Lawson. My first cookbook I ever,
God was actually Feast and this is the one right here. Simien who I love, Salt
Fat Acid Heat and then Ina cause she's just a legend. I do have a lot more cookbooks. They're actually way up
here along with my tagging and it actually goes down and
there's a whole other layer of books there as well. If I have one book that
recently I'm super obsessed with Sohov, it's chef and
founder, a chef Mike Solomonov and he does really incredible
food, very traditional from Israeli to Middle Eastern food. He actually sent me his book,
which I'm really excited to cook for. When there's a book that I
really wanna cook for so that it stays on my radar. I put it in my kitchen and I
know exactly what I'm gonna do. So this week I'm going to make a couple. I think it's twice cooked
eggplant definitely and I'm going to do some
skewers really really good. So now we're just going to do
like a rough little impromptu walk through my kitchen and
I'm just going to go through some of my favorite things. I love this thing. I use it every single day. It heats up really quickly. I have a lot of people in my house. I get to like bust out a lot
of coffees when I need to. And my favorite new thing
that I found out about this is that the seal where
you put your coffee beans into, this thing is UV protected
cause apparently you have to UV protect your coffee
beans cause they get ruined otherwise I do love me some smeg. I love kinda like the clean
air streams style design you have to watch out to make
sure not to like burn yourself if you're like using them too long. But they're so beautiful to
look at that I really like them. This is a little embarrassing,
but I have a beautiful KitchenAid Stand Mixer. I have not used it yet. I'm really hoping for
the day that I decide to bake something, but also
I'm not really a baker. So when we were filming in
Tokyo, one of our producers, his brother worked in gardens,
and he would find old pieces of wood and he would make
his own cutting boards. And he actually made this for
me as a gift, which I thought was really beautiful and
thoughtful and he has this little signature right over here. And this my friend Beth sent
to me that I can put really hot pots on, so I get to think about her. She's in Kansas city. This is my massive stockpot,
which is very dramatic, but I like to have it out also. I'd literally have nowhere to fit it. So it's kind of stuck here. This is my five-week dip
tea candle, which I love, but once it's done I couldn't
bring myself to throw it out because I'm a borderline hoarder
and so I put all my wooden spoons in it. This is my collection of knives. I have a lot more knives in here. Knives is definitely
the thing that I have, I wouldn't say too much
of honorable mention. His name is Max Polio
and he makes these knives and this is actually an
oyster shucker that he gave me that I use on cheese boards
cause I don't shuck oysters that often, but I do make
cheese boards very often. And then these are
brass, Indian brass cups that I got at a place called RW Guild, which is basically one of my favorite duos of interior designers. They have an awesome
restaurant on Mercer street. I have vitamix, which is
probably my single most used tool because I just make smoothies
all the freaking time. And then here I have a
whole bunch of supplements that I use, muscle big into
bee pollen and kind of learning about that and sun potion is
actually a really good brand and they make a lot of really cool stuff and fish oil. Fish oil is very important. It's actually really good for
your joints if you're working out so you can have less
pain than if you're torturous yourself during the week
the way I am with workouts, fish oils, really good to
keep your joints all lubed up so you're good to go. So I have scented candles
all throughout my apartment, but the one place where I
don't put them is in my kitchen because I don't like scented
candles kind of interfering with the food. But one thing I do after like
a day of cooking, if I kind of want to like neutralize
Papier d'Armenie is really nice. Lydia Aldridge, she sent over
these really nice incense that I've been burning and
so these were nice to use. When I was touring for
Antony in the kitchen, I had the honor of being
interviewed by Alice Waters in San Francisco and she actually
gave me this little fruit dish from Shape Pennies that she brought. And she brought... There were some plums,
there were two pairs and there were some fresh figs. One of them broke. So I only have three left,
but the 39th anniversary of Shape Pennies. And she brought me a little
glasses as well she's so sweet. Well I think that's it. We can finish with a piece of
art just to switch things up. It's no secret. My favorite band are The
Strokes, I've been listening to them forever since before
they were signed, which leads me to this piece. One of my very favorite
photographers, Ryan McGinley was following The Strokes
around right when their first album came out "Is This it." And they weren't signed yet. And they performed a sold out
show radio city music hall. And he was there to document this photo. So I've met every single
one of The Strokes except Nikolai Fraiture. And this is a photo of
Nikolai Fraiture's back, As he's looking in, there's
something about the warmth and the energy of like everyone
just so excited for them. And there are this like
untapped superpower of rock that are just like on
the verge of exploding. But I just think there's
like such a great energy to this image. I love looking at it every
time I walked into the kitchen. Maybe one day I'll meet Nikolai Fraiture. So Delish thank you so much
for following me around my kitchen as we literally
walked in circles. Thanks for watching. I'll see you soon, bye (upbeat music)
