ANOTHER vlog camera? Testing out the NEW Sony ZV-1M2 👀

hey guys welcome to a new video you're not gonna believe this Sony has announced another camera that is made for vloggers or content creators and it is the Sony zv1 Mark II we're actually filming on it right now so let's kind of just dive in talk about it and at the end part of this video is going to be more of a vlog from this but let's kind of talk about some of the specs the upgrades what makes it different what makes it the same a lot of cameras that Sony has announced recently so let's just get into it foreign thing that I'm most excited about with this camera is we have a wider lens we now have an 18 to 55 millimeter lens the Sony's ev1f is 20. so the fact that this is 18 is giving you a little bit extra space the next thing that we have in this camera is the built-in three-stop ND filter I was actually filming a bunch with Sydney in San Diego and we were both really excited that it had an ND filter because I'm usually filming in a lot of Sunny locations and with Sony zv1f I had to use an external ND filter which wasn't the worst thing but obviously having it built in is a game changer and just much more convenient this also does have a one inch stacked sensor so we're gonna have incredibly fast read speeds this is going to be great for you know High frame rate Stills as well as video another thing I'm excited about is the intelligent three capsule directional microphone and it's basically like using AI with this directional microphone so if you have it on auto it will be able to adjust depending on where you are we also do have now improved touchscreen operations it's really easy to kind of go through all of your settings on this touch screen you can just swipe you can adjust everything right here pretty much and it makes it really really easy so you're not constantly having to you know turn your camera around you can adjust everything as I'm sitting right here in front of me on the screen just by touching it and it makes it really easy I also do have a self timer if you want to use that for video we also do have the real-time tracking as well as eye autofocus for humans as well as animals and another feature that was announced with the Sony zve E1 was multiple face recognition if you have this shooting in video in the intelligent mode it will automatically be able to tell if another person comes in to the frame and if it does it will adjust the f-stop accordingly so that both or all of the people are going to be in Focus so that is a really good feature there's a fly the fly is trying to be a part of the demo get out of here fly so you also can do 4K k30 and you can do full HD up to 120p and of course we do have the S and Q I shot some really beautiful time lapses when I was in San Diego this was all with the snq I was actually really shocked that it came from this small of a camera because it honestly seemed like something that would be coming out of my mirrorless another thing we have is the Cinematic Vlog feature with just a click of the button you can get that cinematic Vlog effect I personally don't use this um so it's not something that I really test out or that I use but it is nice if you are that type of Creator maybe you want to use that feature it's very very easy to do so I also wanted to show you guys another feature which is the face Priority auto exposure so you can turn this on or off but you're able to keep a subject's face with constant brightness even if it is really bright in the background you will be able to tell that you're a person and that it probably wants your face to be lit all right Sid yeah we're gonna showcase the product showcase so right now we have it off so if I just cover my eyes it'll focus on the product correct if my eyes are in the frame it's focusing in my eyes it is the box is around your eyes so this is product showcase off so let's now turn it on product showcases on so if you hold out the camera it should focus on the camera look at that that new Sony zv1 Mark II and Sydney out of focus as he should be another thing that I do like about these small compact cameras is the fact that it does have this little windscreen that you could just throw over top of the microphone it is so windy outside I was filming at the beach I was swimming in the desert and I am trying to keep my Vlog uh set up as small as possible so throwing on this windscreen helps tremendously to kind of keep your audio crisp and clear and wind free because there's nothing worse than wind ruining your audio and making it unusable not new to these cameras but we also do have the red record button that you can see as well as the red outline that is happening around the screen and we do have a bunch of different creative looks that we can do so if you wanted to cycle through some of them right now I just have it on auto but let's take a a look at some of them we also do have the soft skin effect so let's go ahead and give that a little test I do have it off right now but we can go to low we can go to Mid and we can go too high I'm gonna just turn it off I was also really shocked at how nice of pictures this camera took as well I didn't even realize what I was looking at these that I actually didn't even turn on the raw images usually when we have cameras before they're actually released they don't open in any software programs so it makes it kind of tricky so I always just shoot jpegs and they were just absolutely beautiful I also like that now with this camera we have a closer Focus so you're testing out the five centimeter close-up yeah so when you're uh at the widest uh focal length you can go up to five centimeters and take a super close-up shot it's kind of cool it's like close to macro is that for a picture and video that is for picture and video we love that we do we do look at you close another reason why this camera is super user friendly is we do have easy access to kind of switching between video pictures and S and Q I am constantly switching between them so you're able to just kind of cycle through which is the Press of a button I love time lapses so I always just have my snq kind of set to Time Lapse but we can also do slow motion so that's kind of an overview of what's happening with this camera now let's go make a vlog okay guys so I thought that I'd bring you along uh since we have the new Sony zv1 Mark II we're gonna make a vlog because this is a vlogging camera I'm actually here in Joshua Tree and I just got my new rivian as well so I went on a little road trip I'm gonna go to hike right now and this is the perfect instance of why I love having small cameras it's 100 degrees I'm trying to like not have a lot of stuff I'm able to just shove this little camera in my pocket and go on my way but not before I show you the whip oh beautiful we'll talk about it later let's go hike and then go to the pool ew little lizard [Music] so the hike I thought I started was supposed to be three miles but it turned out it was only like 0.6 miles which actually worked out because one I haven't hiked in these hot conditions in a very long time also just haven't hiked in a very long time I waited waited a little too long to come out here and it's really really hot so I think that either I'll try to hike again tonight at Sunset I just feel like I should go to the pool and have a little drink a little Sparkling Ice get some sun work on my video and uh try this again later that's basically where I spent most of today laying by the pool working at the table and hanging out but now it is dinner time so gonna venture out and get some dinner and then it's gonna be sunset uh I don't know what's gonna be happening maybe we'll do some time lapses it's really hard to say it's also still like a hundred degrees outside it is the absolute perfect evening out tonight these ants are going absolutely insane you guys all have a purpose you're all doing a lot of stuff here I don't like it uh what I do like is how good my car looks I love all of these rocks look at this she's beautiful [Music] she happy with all that gorgeous sunset perfect sunset hi it is the next day and I'm starting the morning off with a hike although I may have made the same mistake it's already kind of late it's hot it's gonna be just aggressive out there we've got sunscreen we've got mace we've got my key uh we have a lot of water so let's go for a hike this is the 49 Palms Oasis Trail I've done this Trail so many times look at this we can see big horn sheep I'm here gotta go there do not die today [Music] I've been walking 18 minutes I've climbed 300 feet elevation I only go 1.7 miles but it was like straight uphill but this is such a cool hike because it's like you're literally in the canyons like you're in the mountains you're surrounded by rocks and then you kind of dip down to the Oasis um not sure if I'm gonna do the whole thing today only because I have a lot to do and I'm very hot and as you saw this is very dangerous oh all right we're almost there decided to suck it up and do it even though I'm melting all right ended up making it to the final spot I've been here many times like this is definitely one of the best hikes that um I've done around the Joshua Tree area just today man I don't know haven't hiked in a while haven't been out in the elements or in the heat so it was kind of a struggle but enjoying the shade now before start hike back I've gotta go oh all the way up and over oh boy oh boy almost done with a hike which makes me very excited and I'm close enough to my car that I can cool off the cabin it says that is 95 degrees which uh it's pretty hot so I'm gonna hit cool down and it's set to 69. let's go get cold off oh can I do anything else no all right we're down to 88 it literally was like a 30 second walk and it cooled off that much it rained last night so she got like a little a little fresh wash which was pretty great let me in I may or may not have been outside at the pool basically all day today I am very very crispy and my head is very warm probably gonna go inside it is the perfect day it is so nice I can't get over it I'm gonna be really sad to um go back
