Animate a MASK for a Cool Transition! - DaVinci Resolve

Da Vinci resolve for noobs acid cat 4000 ask me Daniel can you show me how to make a hole in a clip to reveal another one under it and animate that hole to get bigger without going frame by frame absolutely what you need to do is take two clips and put them in your timeline one underneath the other select the top clip and go over to the fusion page now just under the preview window grab the circular mask called Elipse bring that down into your note area connect it to your main footage and now you'll need to invert that mask by going up to the upper right inspector and clicking on invert decide where you'd like that mask to start happening and stop the clip right there take the width and the height of that mask and turn them all the way down to zero and add a key frame for each now play forward to where you'd like that mask to reveal the clip underneath it and move the width and the height sliders to as wide as they can be now when you go back to the edit page and play through your footage that mask will expose the clip underneath it exactly like you told it to
